2. Imagine Dragons are an American alternative rock/indie band from Las Vegas,
Nevada. They formed in 2008 with 5 members and have recently released a very
successful debut album (Night Visions) with 4 members.
Night Visions was number one in the Billboard alternative and rock album chart.
The song Radioactive reached number one in 3 countries and was in the top ten
in 16 countries. It has also been played on British TV show and been used to
promote the game Assassins Creed III and for the 2013 film ‘The Host’
Other songs such as ‘On Top Of The World’ has been used to promote the 2013
children's animated film ‘The Croods’ and features on both FIFA and PES 2013.
The song also reached number one in Portugal.
3. Imagine Dragons have
released 4 EP’s and one
studio album.
The most recent EP
‘Continued Silence’ was
made after the band got
singed to Interscope
Records.
The previous EP’s were
recorded at Battle Born
studios which is owned
by ‘The Killers'. This is
why some people say
that both bands have a
similar sound because
they both come from the
same place.
The EP ‘Continued
Silence’ is carried on
from EP’ Hell and
Silence; but has the
same theme as the
debut album ‘Night
Visions’
The logo of Imagine
Dragons also changes
from the previous
records as getting
signed must have
something to do with
how Imagine Dragons
present themselves.

6. The layout for the website is very simple and is easy
to navigate around. The theme matches the album
cover of the recent ‘Night Visions’.
The tabs at the top give you direct to other
media on the website and there are social
network links at the top where it is easy to find.
The music and tours are easy to find – the

7. It’s Time
‘It’s Time’ is an alternative rock / indie song about how no one
should change who they are.
The music video has got over 34 million views on YouTube
and reached number one on Yahoo’s Top Videos.
The video has a dark feel set in an barren, post apocalyptic
wasteland. The band walk past ship wrecks and broken train
tracks until they stop to get a glowing pebble like orb out of a
box. They then bury the glowing orb and start running away
from it as it explodes, sending the singer to levitate in mid air
which resembles the EP covered of ‘Continued Silence’ in
which the song is off of.
The video has a very slow pace of editing and doesn’t have a
wide variety of camera shots to represent the desert land.
The main factor of this video is the CGI.
8. Demons
‘Demons’ is an alternative rock/indie song about a protagonist warning significant other of his
flaws. The lyrics in the song relate to the video as the cut scenes show what really goes on in
that certain persons life which doesn’t happen when they are at a concert. The lyrics ‘It’s where
my demons hide’ can metaphorically relate to the individuals story as outside of the concert is
where the bad things happen aka. The demons. The video is half performance as the narrative is
woven in with the performance as the characters are in the audience of an Imagine Dragons
concert. The video ends in a real life situation of a teenager who lost his life in which Imagine
Dragons dedicate the song/video to him to raise money and awareness of cancer.
The whole video is quite deep and emotional and is demonstrated by slow editing pace and
strong, intimate camera shots that reveal the atmosphere of the song.
9. Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons are becoming more and more known therefore more and more
successful. Because they have only been a band since 2008, they are still fairly new
to the music scene therefore they do not have a recognised image.
The songs are distinctive sounding if you have previously heard a song from them and
have a similar dark tone ringing through the most recent work.
The image of the band currently is also dark. When playing live, the band wear black
so they look smart and can match which makes them look professional.
There are only 4 official Imagine Dragons music videos – each completely unique
videos. The video for ‘It’s Time’ represents the band the best because of the dark
lighting and atmosphere. This video also represents the theme of the album cover.
