  1. Yes, this is a conference presentation about a conference presentation! I was thrown into this opportunity in fall 2015 and it was just a traditional presentation. I didn’t know any of the registrants ahead of time I heard from others who presented the LMS topic that this group was difficult. I get asked back twice a year before the call for proposals opens How do you know if a training is successful? Always get positive feedback!
  2. It takes place the week before class starts Departments register their TAs for these programs.
  3. One hour session to cover everything: How to build content, add users, manage an assignment, grade papers, etc etc etc
  4. I’ve been “thrown” into doing this since Fall 2015 1. A traditional training really isn's suited for this audience 2. Concepts of professional development. So you can use this as an opportunity to share information that will advance their career or build up a resume 3. This audience may or may not differentiate modialities: online components with face to face (yet) 4. This is an LMS workshop, but it's also an orientation on centralized services on campus – so we share with the student self-help resources (KB, Lynda) and how-to's so that their equipped to help themselves when they leave the session. 5. Take the "boring" parts of the demonstration and talk about Teaching Styles, Efficiency Tips, and Best Practices.

Find other campus-wide “conferences” where attendance may not be mandated, but take training to where people already are and just not call it training The title of this session is “Leveraging the UIUC Graduate Academy as a Training Platform” so I would like to think that other topics besides LMS Other Topics for Other Conferences
