This document discusses image compression techniques using hybrid wavelet transforms, emphasizing the importance of optimal compression methods due to the high storage and bandwidth requirements of digital images. It compares various approaches, including lossless and lossy compression, and evaluates the performance of hybrid transformations involving discrete cosine transform (DCT), discrete Hartley transform (DHT), and others across different color image datasets. The results highlight that the combination of DCT and DKT achieves the best compression performance based on error metrics like mean square error (MSE) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR).
