Business analysis interview question and answersGaruda Trainings
Business Analysis is the process of understanding business change needs, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing and documenting requirements and then supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant parties. The person who carries out this task is called a business analyst or BA.
Agile and Waterfall are two distinct methods of project management.
The Waterfall model can essentially be described as a linear model of project development. Like its name suggests, waterfall employs a sequential process. Development flows sequentially from start point to end point, with several different stages: Conception, Initiation, Analysis, Design, Construction, Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance.
In contrast, the Agile method proposes an incremental and iterative approach to project development. It was essentially developed in response to the limitations of Waterfall, as a way to give more freedom. The process is broken into individual models that team work on. There is no pre-determined course of action or plan with the Agile method. Rather, team-mates are free to respond to changes in requirements as they arise and make changes as the project progresses. Agile is a pretty new player to the development management. However, it has made substantial gains in use and popularity in the last couple of years.

Continuous Improvement?
Why are we wanting to improve?
Where are we now?
What are we working with?
If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.
Cheshire Cat
(Alice in Wonderland)
There are a number of things to consider when deciding what level of maturity to aim for.
Why are you wanting to increase your level of maturity in this space?
-Some might be wanting to do it simply as a continuous improvement strategy.
Some may be having issues with the performance of their program and project delivery or portfolio investment returns
Others may need it to be competitive in a market that looks at the P3M3 levels of organisations in the tendering process
Others may be required to undergo a mandatory audit – as did the Qld Govt in 2012.
One organisation that I have spoken with has noted that their environment has become increasingly fiscally constrained and as such funding is much more competitive. They want to increase certain sections of their maturity, specifically relating to benefits management, business case and blueprint development – so that they can be more competitive in seeking funding for initiatives. So in this case they are not necessarily trying to improve their maturity as a whole, but an aspect of it. In doing this however, it is likely that they will have an increase in maturity in other areas as well.
We need to know where you are now to assist in deciding where you want to go. This is where going through an assessment is essential and I do believe in this being independent. You can self assess but this will always be impacted with bias. You need to baseline.
What are you working with? What is your organisational context? What resources do you have both budget and people? Do you have authentic sponsorship or are your leaders just ticking a mandate off? What’s your organisational culture like, are they open to P3 management or are they likely to see effort to increase maturity as unnecessary overhead?
So when we went through this process we were fortunate to have an authentic sponsor, we had a culture of project and program delivery so the staff understood the value of the practice (and I do say practice rather than methodology – as if you have experienced practitioners, they will argue methodology with you – this is a good thing!). We.

Introduction
You have probably been part of an organization or team activity that did not appear to have
direction, purpose, or goals. This kind of experience sometimes produces frustration, espe-
cially in organizations that are supposed to have a purpose, simply because people want to
know that they are part of something larger than themselves and that they can make a dif-
ference. Sometimes organizations have goals, but it seems like only top management knows
what they are. This chapter will explore the value of having organizational and project goals
and sharing them with the people charged with realizing them.
This chapter follows up on earlier chapters that dealt with the field of project management,
project phases in the cycle, and organizational design. The chapter will address how projects
are started, how they are aligned with the organization’s goals, and how individual project
goals and objectives are set to serve customers.
Once a project is selected and initiated in phase 1, phase 2 involves defining the project in a
project plan and preparing the project framework for execution. The next five chapters will
address the highlights and critical activities and tools used in this phase. This chapter discusses
important front-end planning activities such as setting project goals and objectives, linking the

Week 3: Business Problem and Requirements
Business Analysis
The basic idea of business analysis is simple. It is the practice of identifying and clarifying a problem or issue within a company, then working with the various stakeholders to define and implement an acceptable solution. However, actually conducting a business analysis can be quite complex and time-consuming.
Starting Point
The first step in the process is to identify a problem, an issue, or some other business need. Let's say that you are the owner of a small motorcycle dealership. In addition to selling bikes, your store does repairs and maintenance, sells riding gear, and custom orders parts for your customers. You have received numerous complaints from the staff and customers about the accuracy of your inventory system. The problem is the inventory system often shows parts and merchandise as being in stock, when none are actually available. This often means that a repair job is not finished on schedule, which really irritates your customers.
Milestone 1 Assignment Requirements
In a 5-8 page paper using APA format, please describe the following:
1. Introduction– Briefly describe the organization and business process to provide contextfor your project.
2. Business problem– Identify and describe a business problem for your project.
a. Create a flowchart of the current business process using Visio.
b. If you do not have Visio installed on your computer, you can access this application via the iLab tab in the Course Home unit.
3. Identify stakeholders– Provide a stakeholder tracking matrix based on eachstakeholder’s position and responsibilities, the level of their involvement and their importance to the project.
Example of a stakeholder matrix:
Role
Responsibilities
Level of Involvement
Importance
Project Manager
(Business)
Project Manager

SME 3
Level of Involvement – What level of involvement and how much time will be expected of each stakeholder?
Importance – How important is the stakeholder in the requirements elicitation process? Are they required in order to document all of the critical project requirements, or are they optional in that they can add clarity to processes that may further refine requirements?
4. Conduct elicitationusing one of the methods listed and provide the documented resultsfrom your activity in the Appendix of your paper:
Surveys – develop a set of 5-8 multiple choice questions pertaining to the business problem that will enable you to document a list of requirements for your project, administer the survey to elicit responses from 10 participants
Interviews – develop a set of 5-8 open-ended questions pertaining to the ...

MBA Capstone Project GuidelinesThroughout your MBA program.docxARIV4
MBA Capstone Project Guidelines
Throughout your MBA program, you have worked to develop as a practitioner-scholar to meet the needs and future challenges as a business leader. Your program culminates in the capstone project, which forms the primary focus of MBA6900, the final course you will take in the program. The capstone project is intended to provide you the opportunity to demonstrate your MBA program outcomes by:
· Planning and executing the strategic and tactical elements of a comprehensive project.
· Integrating and demonstrating skills and techniques you have learned throughout the MBA program.
· Communicating project outcomes both in written form and in a formal presentation.
· Completing your MBA program with an experience that reinforces and integrates the components that have preceded it.
The following information outlines the requirements and work associated with the capstone project for MBA6028 and MBA6900.
Capstone Project Examples
Examples of project types that might be proposed to meet these requirements include but are not limited to:
· Preparation of a strategic plan for an organization.
· A strategic analysis of all or a selected part of an organization.
· Development of a case study of all or a selected part of an organization.
· Development of an intervention, such as a workshop or training activity, that is broad- based enough to demonstrate the program-level outcomes.
· Development of a consulting report on a problematic issue within an organization, provided that the issue is broad-based enough to demonstrate program-level outcomes.
You may propose other structures for the capstone project so long as you are able to identify how the proposed project satisfies the requirement of demonstrating the program-level outcomes. When choosing your topic, keep in mind that your capstone project must result in recommendations, next steps, or some other type of actionable, evidence-based take-aways for the reader or subject of the project.
Capstone Project Requirements
The capstone course project must demonstrate your achievement of the MBA program outcomes. The following table is taken from the proficient column of the final capstone grading rubric. It outlines the expectations for demonstrating each program outcome.
Program Outcome:
Proficient Column:
1. Apply foundational knowledge and an understanding of business systems,
processes, and technology within and across core disciplines.

Action Plan Guide
Overall Instructions
Follow the instructions contained within this Action Plan Guide to develop your Action Plan.
Develop your Action Plan on the Action Plan Signature Assignment template.
Introduction
In this section, refer to your approved EDD9951 Signature Assignment to provide a brief
introduction to your EDD9953 Signature Assignment: Action Plan. Use the Preliminary Site
Information, the Statement of the Problem, and your Approach to the Problem of Practice
from your EDD9951 Signature Assignment to craft the introduction. (Maximum of 250 words)
NOTE: The problem and project you describe must be the same one that was
approved in your approved Signature Assignment in EDD9951.
Action Plan
Provide a paragraph (3–5 sentences) that introduces the sections of the Action Plan.
The action plan comprises the following sections:
• Purpose of the Project
• Stakeholders and Participants
• Description of the Applied Project
• Implementation Plan
• Guiding Questions
• Data Collection Plan
• Data Analysis Plan
Purpose of the Project
In this section, provide a statement of purpose. You may use the following formulation and add
a few sentences of clarification if desired.
The purpose of the project is to implement [insert your intervention] to improve [insert area
to be improved—be sure it aligns with your problem statement and guiding questions].
Example: The purpose of the project is to implement a professional development program to
improve the instructional leadership skills of district principals. (The problem the professional
development program addresses is that teachers do not receive feedback and coaching that
lead to improvement of instruction. The root-cause analysis identified one of the problem’s
causes: inadequacy of district principals’ classroom observation and coaching skills.)
EDD9953: Signature Assignment
Guide last revised September 15, 2021
A program evaluation project might be formulated slightly differently:
Example: The purpose of the project is to implement an evaluation of ABC school’s
science curriculum to inform a comprehensive revision of the science program. (The
problem the evaluation will be used to addresses is poor student achievement in science.
One of the problem’s causes identified in the root-cause analysis was an outdated
curriculum.)
Stakeholders and Participants
In this section, briefly describe the project’s stakeholders and their roles. Use two
subheadings—one for stakeholders and one for participants.
1. Identify and describe the key stakeholders of your project, including their role(s) in
the organization and why they would be impacted by your project.

IT 700 Capstone Component 2 IT Project Report Guidelines a.docxaryan532920
IT 700 Capstone Component 2: IT Project Report Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: For your IT project report, the second of three capstone components, you will imagine that the key stakeholders for whom you wrote your proposal
gave you the go-ahead to implement your information technology solution to the problem you identified. You have designed and developed your project
solution, and now you must report to the stakeholders.
In other words, for this capstone component, you will design and develop your project solution and then report on it. If you are able to implement your solution,
include a summary of your implementation and testing in your report. If you are not able to implement your solution, you may develop a model, simulation,
prototype, or proof of concept as an alternative to developing a fully implemented project. In this case, in your report you should include a plan for
implementation and testing.
Your report must provide clear evidence that your project was implemented and tested (or is implementable and testable). This can be achieved by documenting
a demonstration of the project in use or documenting an explanation of the model, simulation, or prototype. Consider using video or screenshots to
demonstrate and explain your project. If the implemented project is to be supplied to the instructor, you could provide a user manual that explains how to
install, configure, and run the software. You are encouraged to submit artifacts of the project including diagrams, software applications, database designs,
process documents, etc. Make sure to include clear instructions for accessing and using these artifacts. The design and development of your project solution
should demonstrate professional-level knowledge and skills.
Your project report should include at least one recommendation for future enhancements. Explain what you might add to the project if you had more resources?
What risk(s) would you need to consider before the enhancement was implemented at some future point in time? What would have to happen first before the
future enhancement was even considered seriously?
You will submit drafts of this component in Modules Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight. The final component is due in Milestone Nine.
The following sections are required in your project report (though you are not limited to including only these sections):
1. Project Design: Analyze the problem that you have identified and explain why the problem is significant. [Drafted in Modules Four and Eight]
2. Project Implementation: If you implemented your project, describe the implementation. If your project was not implemented, how would you
implement it? As you work on the project each module, the status of the project will be updated in this section. Describe the status of the
implementation to date. [Drafted in Modules Five, Six, and Eight]
3. Project Test Plans and Results: If you implemented and tested your project, describe how yo ...
PJM6125 Project Evaluation:
Stakeholder Analysis & Evaluation Goal Matrix
Overview and Rationale
For this assignment, you will establish some evaluation goals for your project based on the
method and lens covered in this week’s lecture.
Program and Course Outcomes
This assignment is directly linked to the following key learning outcomes from the course
syllabus:
LO1: Identify and analyze stakeholders associated with performance evaluation.
LO2: Design an evaluation goals matrix incorporating the differences between impact, efficiency,
and effectiveness
LO6: Compare change management procedures needed to respond to the results of both tactical
and non-tactical performance evaluation
L07: Plan and conduct a tactical evaluation using both qualitative and quantitative measures
Essential Components & Instructions
This assignment is completed in two parts. First, using your chosen project that you
submitted as part of Lesson 1, complete the following items:
Stakeholder Register / Analysis:
Create a stakeholder register / analysis that includes the following minimum
columns:
o Stakeholder
o Stakeholder Position / Role
o Type of Stakeholder (internal or external)
o Stakeholder expectation (high level needs or expectations of project)
o Stakeholder interest (high / medium / low)
o Stakeholder influence level (high / medium / low)
o Stakeholder view of project (supportive / neutral / opposed)
o Stakeholder Management strategy (approach to engaging stakeholder to
support success of project)
Once you create the register, create entries for a minimum of 12 - 15 project
stakeholders, performing a full analysis for each of them.
Part 2: Evaluation Goals Matrix:
After completing the stakeholder register, you will create an evaluation goals matrix, as
illustrated in Lesson 2, with an additional column entitled stakeholder. Once you have
designed the evaluation goal matrix, you will need to list at least four evaluation goals for
each category: efficiency, effectiveness, and impact, which will result in a total of 12 metrics
/ goals.
You will be assess on the clarity of the metrics, the concreteness of the measures (Example:
increased performance by 12 percent (concrete) vs. increase performance (not concrete, as
no specific measurement of increase)), and how well the metric will measure the success of
project relative to the overview of the project you provided as a case study.
Format
Below are some key guidelines you will want to ensure you follow in all three elements of
this assignment. Think of this short list as a quality control checklist, along with the
attached grading rubric.
Part 1 and Part 2 (stakeholder analysis and evaluation matrix) should be submitted
as a single file (MsWord or .pdf)
You should include a cover page
You should include a brief summary of your chosen project.
You should format the documents professionally
The tables should be readable.

This course requires use of the Microsoft Project 2010 (or later) software application. The 2010 version and those released later are similar and suitable for the assignments. Please note the software is not compatible with Mac computers.
Even if you have a well-planned and controlled project, there is still 1 important but sometimes overlooked area that can impact the success of a project. This very important area is quality management and assurance. There are many quality systems that exist today thanks to the work of pioneers such as Dr. William Edward Deming. You will be evaluating different quality systems such as ISO 9000, Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Check-Act or Plan-Do-Study-Act, capability maturity model integration (CMMI), organizational project management maturity model (OPM3), and Malcolm Baldrige for their potential application to a project you will be selecting in the Individual Project for this week.
1 # Assignment Objectives
Explore and discuss definitions, concepts, principles and major contributors to the quality field.
Use effective communication techniques
write 350–500 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
Research at least 2 sources (which may include your textbook) to support your response, and discuss the following:
•Compare and contrast 3 of what you consider the most appropriate types of quality systems for the project that you will use in your Key Assignment.
•In your opinion, which is the best type of quality system? Why?
•Which is the easiest to implement? Why?
Write 2 more paragraphs that are an introduction and conclusion to this topic. Be sure to include your references, and format your submission in APA format.
#2 Assignment Objectives
Explore and discuss definitions, concepts, principles and major contributors to the quality field.
Use effective communication techniques.
Word document of 10 pages (including empty sections), 600–900 words
Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday, and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.
Overview
As you have already learned in your Discussion Board this week, quality assurance in any project might be the most important but overlooked aspect of a project. Lack of quality management, however, can cause an entire project to fail if the final project deliverables do not meet customer expectations and standards. Implementing quality assurance throughout the project improves overall performance of tasks and minimizes the risk of nonacceptance at the end of the project. In this course, you are asked to develop a Quality Management Integration Plan that allows you to select and integrate quality management tool ...

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
5. BABOK 3 & Knowledge Areas
Knowledge areas are covered from chapter 3 to 8
Knowledge areas are decomposed into tasks
Tasks as well as Knowledge areas are described as process
Each task is described and explained using a standard template
8. Core Concept Model
All the core concepts have equal weightage
Six core concepts constitute the BABOK BACCM model
BACCM was conceptualized in May 2011 when BABOK v3 was kicked off
The first iteration had 4 concepts, Value & Context were added later
9. Core Concept Model
Need
A problem, opportunity or constraint with potential value to a stakeholder (s)
Need can be thought of as the reason which starts a project.
Example - The need to automate the sales, marketing & customer service processes.
10. Core Concept Model
Solution
A way to address the need of the stakeholder (s) for the given organization,
scenario and geography etc. (Context is important)
Organizational needs can only be satisfied or addressed through a solution
Example: Implementing a Software as a service (SaaS) CRM system, rather
than a COTS (commercial off the shelf) CRM product.
11. Core Concept Model
Change
A change is needed to successfully address the need of the stakeholders, the
overall effort of taking the organization from unimplemented state to a
transformed state (improved state)
A change has to take place in the organization to address the need
Example – This change refers to the fact that a solution implementation may need
a mindset change of employees as they will shift from manual system to an
automated system.
12. Core Concept Model
Context
The background, budget, timelines, organization structure may influence the
way change is to be brought about
Example: Extending the CRM example in the solution section. If Software as a service
(SaaS) CRM system is suitable for Organization A, it is possible that a customized software
is more suitable for Organization B. The reason can be very specialized business processes
for organization B as compared to the almost standard business processes in organization
A.
13. Core Concept Model
Value
Value can be seen as potential or realized returns, gains, and
improvements.
The value is an anticipated outcome of implementing a solution.
Value can be tangible or intangible
Example – By implementing a CRM solution, a business can look forward to
increase its revenue or to improve customer service standards. This is what is
meant by “Value”.
14. Core Concept Model
Stakeholder
A stakeholder is an individual or group who can influence the project or can
get influenced by the project as a user.
The stakeholders can be from the customer organization, the solution provider
or an external organization.
Example – In our example of CRM solution, the stakeholders can be
marketing manager, Marketing head, you as a business analyst, the project
manager and so on.
E&C – too narrow of a focus
RMCM – strange to put together
EA - Enterprise Analysis confused people and led to a lot of misinterpretations, particularly when we started talking about Enterprise Business Analysis, Also, 'situation' made more sense than 'enterprise' because tasks are executed at the scope of the BA roll and context, not at the scope of the organization.
RA – didn’t cover design that BAs do
SAV – Solution Evaluation means essentially the same thing as "Assessment and Validation" if you look in the dictionary, is shorter, and translates directly into French, Spanish, and Portuguese
