This document provides guidance for building a strong church community. It recommends that churches should:
1) Focus on bringing people to faith in God and growing disciples.
2) Encourage members to regularly spend time in prayer and studying scripture to remain close to the Holy Spirit.
3) Develop strategies that are in line with God's will by discerning his direction through prayer rather than personal preferences.
4) Take risks and steps of faith, trusting that God will honor efforts taken in obedience to him, even if the outcomes are not immediately clear.

Meditating on the Lord can be one of the easiest yet at the same time most difficult activities we can do to draw closer to God and grow spiritually. (James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.)
Slides accompanying a sermon on the baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit, preached at Plymouth Meeting E.C. Church on Oct. 11, 2015 by Pastor Bob Brown.
Taking care of your soul. A transformation of our conscience, reason, imagination, mind, emotions, choice and will is absolutely necessary to be aligned with the renewed Spirit that is already in us. In order to attain this, the Holy Spirit needs to be in control, bringing a complete renewal.
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.
Knowing the gates of our body. These gates are connected to the gates of our soul. Remember the body is not in direct contact with the spirit but with the soul. The soul is in contact with the spirit and with the body, in this way, the soul is the connector between spirit and soul.

The goal is not merely to provide academic understanding, but the higher purpose of developing a corp of people who pray and who therefore make a difference for God in the world. As (we) are burdened and inspired to pursue dligently an active prayer ministry, (we) will enrich our lives, impact (our) our ministry to Christ and His Church, and consequently generate waves of spiritual influence to the ends of the earth." In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

“Gathering to be strengthened. Scattering to be light.”
CHURCH
“Where spirits are lifted, minds are renewed, faith is
increased, & priorities are challenged, by God's
Word!”
3. Brian Houston of Hillsong Church said it really well to
his church
“The more optional church becomes to you, the less
impact it can have on you. He builds His Church to
build your life!”

be...simply a friendly church."

that spoke to you that day & write them out.
• O = Observation: What do you think God is saying
to you in this Scripture.

"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its
sound, but you do not know where it comes from or
where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of
the Spirit"
[look for wind]
"My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to
accomplish his work"
[less my dreams. more his work]
9. "I say to you the Son can do nothing of his own accord
but only what he sees the Father doing"
[less activity, more abiding prayer]
"For the works that the Father has given me to
accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear
witness about me that the Father has sent me"
[less about me, much more about Him]
10. "And this is the will of him to sent me that I should
lose nothing of all that he has given me"
[less preoccupied by the new thing, more invested
with those he has given me]
"I do nothing of my own authority but speak just as
my Father taught me"
[less personal opinions, more clear divine instruction]
