What is integrated farming system(IFS):-
Integrated farming is defined as a biologically integrated system,
which integrates natural resources in a regulated mechanism
into farming activities to achieve maximum replacement of off-
farm inputs and sustain farm income.
Why is integrated farming required:-Most of the articles talks
about the low productivity in the agricultural sector as a major challenge
factors like an uncertain monsoon, poor fertility of the land, poor quality
seeds and raw inputs for the farming (Verma et al., 2019). In a way,
Agripreneures can improve productivity but still, people have the fact in mind
that agriculture is not profitable as the productivity is poor which make people
to shift from agriculture rather than thinking how to increase productivity.
These entrepreneurs can only be successful if the farmers keep doing farming
and produce in a good quantity and quality for these agri-businesses to develop.
It is a challenge to double the income of the farmers
and to have a year-round income. Today we stand on
a model from which this challenge can be realized. It is
an integrated farming system in which many units of
agriculture are threaded together. So that there is
good income throughout the year in less space. This
integrated agricultural system is spread over 1.5 acres
for our convenience. But you can do more or less
according to the land as per your convenience, but it is
necessary to have a pond in it, because you can
operate this model around the pond itself. Or you can
have dairy based, poultry based, goat rearing
based,horticultural based ,vermi compost based , as
per your convenience.

This story based on mr.ripu Sudan singh
,resident of village-banka ,district-
sabor,Bihar aged is 46 and graduate has
developed him farm as a modal IFS in 1.5
ha area.the component of him IFS model
includes ,fish,duck,goat,vegetables and
fruits ,cow etc.
He earn gross return of around ₹4.40 lakh
with net return of ₹ 3.9 lakh
(1).Fish
Variety:-Mrigla,Rohu,katla
Food:- Dung,grass (row material) low cost of
food
Weight:-6-8 month -1kg approx
Income:- ₹1lakh /year
(2).DUCK
Food:-feed on mosquitos and other small species
Duck is also clear the pond water and they walking
in water resulting water airiation is increase,
When the fish runs to avoid the duck, its weight
increases.
(3).COW
Food:- grass,vegetables waste
Product :-milk
Dung use in fish feeding and vermicompost for
organic farming
(4).poultry
Variety:- kadaknath, vanraj,
Product:-meet and egg
Poltry waste also use in fish food
(5)GOAT
Also called poor people ATM
Their beet use in fish feeding
[Seasonal vegetables around on fish pond and arround
this pond
And also used on fruit planted .like guava ,babbage

Success story of integrated farming
systems
Introduction
This story based on ms.amarjeet kaur ,resident of village-
Adhoyi,district-ambala(Haryana) aged 32 year and
graduate ,has developed her farm as a model 'integrated
farming system' in 5.5 ha area.The components of her IFS
includes crops
(wheat,rice,sugarcane),vegetable(onion,potato)and
dairy(fodder,buffaloes).She earn gross return of around ₹9.50
lakhs with net returns of ₹6.50 lakhs annually.and she also use
sericulture fish ,and duck and also have a poultry farm .
When she was 18 year old her father became ill and grabbed a
bed.His family was dependent on agriculture, so amarjeet
decided to take care of the farm and the family
TRAINING AND MOTIVATION:
She used to grow traditional crops on her farm with
average yields of various crop and animal enterprises
before coming in contact with Extension functionaries of
Agriculture Department and Subject Matter Specialist of
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ambala. Thereafter, she was
exposed to latest improved new technical knowledge of
agriculture and her attitude changed towards agriculture
and she was motivated to take agriculture as agri-
business with adoption of all latest technologies for
improving production and productivity of her farm. She
attended various training programmes at KVK Ambala
and availed advisory services from KVK team and experts
from Agriculture department.
.Along with using improved varieties she also practices
seed treatment followed by treatment with bio fertilizers
and resource conservation technologies for getting high
returns and reduces cost of cultivation.
• Success in integrated farming system with milk from
dairy unit, use of vermi compost, vermi wash in crop
production, bamboo stalking in cucurbit crops and
growing of high yielding fodder varieties.
• Keeping in view of water scarcity she switched over to
kharif Maize cultivation in replace of rice crop in some area
• In view of changing climatic scenario and excess use of
chemical fertilizers and pesticides in crops, she shifted to
organic farming two years back and received Technical
guidance from KVK team under Parampragat Krishi Vikas
Yojna of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and
Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers
Welfare
• By all these crops and livestock enterprises she is earning
a handsome net income of Rs. 6.7 lakhs per annum.

What is integrated farming system(IFS):- Integrated farming is defined as a biologically integrated system, which integrates natural resources in a regulated mechanism into farming activities to achieve maximum replacement of off- farm inputs and sustain farm income. Why is integrated farming required:-Most of the articles talks about the low productivity in the agricultural sector as a major challenge factors like an uncertain monsoon, poor fertility of the land, poor quality seeds and raw inputs for the farming (Verma et al., 2019). In a way, Agripreneures can improve productivity but still, people have the fact in mind that agriculture is not profitable as the productivity is poor which make people to shift from agriculture rather than thinking how to increase productivity. These entrepreneurs can only be successful if the farmers keep doing farming and produce in a good quantity and quality for these agri-businesses to develop.
  • 4. It is a challenge to double the income of the farmers and to have a year-round income. Today we stand on a model from which this challenge can be realized. It is an integrated farming system in which many units of agriculture are threaded together. So that there is good income throughout the year in less space. This integrated agricultural system is spread over 1.5 acres for our convenience. But you can do more or less according to the land as per your convenience, but it is necessary to have a pond in it, because you can operate this model around the pond itself. Or you can have dairy based, poultry based, goat rearing based,horticultural based ,vermi compost based , as per your convenience.

Mr.RIPU SUADAN SINGH This story based on mr.ripu Sudan singh ,resident of village-banka ,district- sabor,Bihar aged is 46 and graduate has developed him farm as a modal IFS in 1.5 ha area.the component of him IFS model includes ,fish,duck,goat,vegetables and fruits ,cow etc. He earn gross return of around ₹4.40 lakh with net return of ₹ 3.9 lakh

Success story of integrated farming systems Introduction This story based on ms.amarjeet kaur ,resident of village- Adhoyi,district-ambala(Haryana) aged 32 year and graduate ,has developed her farm as a model 'integrated farming system' in 5.5 ha area.The components of her IFS includes crops (wheat,rice,sugarcane),vegetable(onion,potato)and dairy(fodder,buffaloes).She earn gross return of around ₹9.50 lakhs with net returns of ₹6.50 lakhs annually.and she also use sericulture fish ,and duck and also have a poultry farm . When she was 18 year old her father became ill and grabbed a bed.His family was dependent on agriculture, so amarjeet decided to take care of the farm and the family

TRAINING AND MOTIVATION: She used to grow traditional crops on her farm with average yields of various crop and animal enterprises before coming in contact with Extension functionaries of Agriculture Department and Subject Matter Specialist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ambala. Thereafter, she was exposed to latest improved new technical knowledge of agriculture and her attitude changed towards agriculture and she was motivated to take agriculture as agri- business with adoption of all latest technologies for improving production and productivity of her farm. She attended various training programmes at KVK Ambala and availed advisory services from KVK team and experts from Agriculture department.
  • 15. .Along with using improved varieties she also practices seed treatment followed by treatment with bio fertilizers and resource conservation technologies for getting high returns and reduces cost of cultivation. • Success in integrated farming system with milk from dairy unit, use of vermi compost, vermi wash in crop production, bamboo stalking in cucurbit crops and growing of high yielding fodder varieties.
  • 16. • Keeping in view of water scarcity she switched over to kharif Maize cultivation in replace of rice crop in some area • In view of changing climatic scenario and excess use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in crops, she shifted to organic farming two years back and received Technical guidance from KVK team under Parampragat Krishi Vikas Yojna of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare • By all these crops and livestock enterprises she is earning a handsome net income of Rs. 6.7 lakhs per annum.
