Jon Snow As A Good Role Model
Does Jon Snow carry the traits that make up a good role model for persons around twenty years of
age? The attributes that comprise an excellent role model for those around college age can often be
matched with those that Jon Snow, from the hit television show Game of Thrones, possess. Jon snow
can be a positive role model for those around college age, as he is an honorable man, has been through
a large amount of difficulty in his life, and he is humble even when he has much greater living and
social position than others. Possessing these traits can create a excellent icon for a role model, which
Jon snow often displays these characteristics. One of the best qualities Jon Snow has as a role model is
his ability to deal with conflicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the seventh season of the show, Jon displays a great value of what he says, in which he is
not willing to put the value of his own word up for a powerful and invaluable alliance between two
sides in a war. While talking to another ruler about his word, Jon claims that When enough people
make false promises, words stop meaning anything, and there are no more answers only better and
better lies (Benioff Weiss, 2017), thus he knows that every time someone lies the value of their word
is less trustworthy, and to not lie keep his honesty unhurt. Being able to have great honesty and the
trust of people is a trait that others will look up to, and as a role model, it is an invaluable
characteristic to obtain. A third important virtue that any decent role model should bear is being
humble. To put it as Gloria Schramm states, Be humble. No matter how accomplished you are, other
people still deserve basic courtesy and respect (Schramm, 2017). Often it is shown how Jon Snow is
one of the humblest characters in Game of Thrones, as he often respects others that may be less than
him on the social ladder or in riches, but yet he still recognizes everyone for their own

What Makes A Good Person In Of Mice And Men
Ever wonder why some people are just rude and why they can not be like the good ones ? John
Steinbeck s Of Mice Men has a superb example of just this he has two characters named Slim and
Curley. Slim is a thoughtful man caring charming overall a good person. Curley on the other hand is a
ghastly character he is horrendous to others. But the author intended them to act in this way in which
portrays to the readers the two kinds of human beings the saints and the sinner. We need to accept the
fact that there is gonna be exceptional and crummy pearson. Humans are not perfect but why would
anyone want to do terrible things for fun? Curley s eyes slipped on past and lighted on Lennie; and
Lennie was still smiling with delight at the memory

Animal Farm Heroism Essay
Heroism on the Farm Who Has It? What would you sacrifice in order to save the runt of a litter of
pigs? Would you sacrifice anything at all? How far would you go in order to save this pig? These
questions are answered in E.B. White s Charlotte s Web, in which an eight year old named Fern saves
the runt of the pig s litter. The story follows the journey of this girl, her pig Wilbur, and the spider,
Charlotte, who also decides to help save Wilbur s life, after finding out he will be slaughtered to feed
the Zuckerman family on Christmas. Templeton, the farm s rat, also contributes in some ways to
saving Wilbur, but only does so because he relies on Wilbur for food and other selfish reasons. In The
Power of Myth, Joseph Campbell describes a hero ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

egg sac for me, and from now on I will let you eat first, when Lurvy slops me. I will let you have your
choice of everything in the trough and I won t touch a thing until you re through. (White, 168) This
quote, is one of the final scenes of the story, describes Wilbur, in a desperate attempt to take Charlotte
s egg sac back to the farm with him, as he tells Templeton he will get to eat first from his trough for
the rest of his life. E.B. White builds Templeton as this character through word choice and diction
when referring to him. On page 46, the rat is described as having no morals, no conscience, no
scruples, no consideration, no decency, no milk of rodent kindness, no compunctions, no higher
feeling, no friendliness, no anything. The rat is greedy and self centered, and is not considered a hero

Bolivia is located in the central part of South America and is land locked a little to the west of Brazil
and to the east of Chile. Bolivia has two capitols, an administrative and a constitutional capitol, La Paz

estimated population of 10,918,674 people, and in 2011 almost 10% of Bolivia s population lived in
El Alto which is the second largest and one of the poorest cities in Bolivia. La Paz was made the

Changing Trends in Sexual Orientation
Changing Trends in Sexual Orientation
According to Merriam Webster Medical Dictionary, sexual orientation refers to the inclination of an
individual with respect to heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual behavior. The famous Kinsey
Reports by Alfred Kinsey (1948) claims that about 10% of American adults are homosexual. This
astonishing figure is often presented as fact but is often criticized to be highly overestimated by
academia. (Refer to Appendix 1 for figures presented by other institutes). Studies by National Survey
of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles reviews that lesbian increased from 2.8% in 1990 to 9.7% in 2000
while gay reported to rise from 5.3% in 1990 to 8.4% in 2000, depicting upward trends that are
consistent with reports ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another impact brought by this changing trend is the introduction of same sex marriage (Appendix 3).
Below is a world map depicting the legality of homosexuality in various part of the world.
Dark Sides
As legal issues pertaining to homosexual have received more national attention, courts around the
world have been reconsidering gays and lesbians rights in parenting and custody cases. But the
general assumption that homosexual parents have adverse effects on the psychological and social
development on a child makes it extremely difficult for gays and lesbians to become parents.
However, the validity of this assumption is highly disputable as both parties claim to have statistical
evident.
On top of that, the greater willingness of people to be truthful about their sexual orientation has
brought repercussion. Their visibility has invited the attention of anti gay activists. Gay rights
movements are often accompany by anti gay rallies and many religious bodies have also express
disapproval at this new sexual trend (Figure above). Homosexuals are also more susceptible to hatred
assault compared to their straight counterpart. According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),
13% of the hate crimes occurred in U.S is targeted at homosexuals; sharp increase due to greater
number of people who come out of closet.
Reports also assert that homosexuality is triggering HIV escalation.

The New House Construction Of Rylai Enterprises Near...
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report assesses two available locations for the new house construction of Rylai Enterprises near
University Malaysia Pahang (UMP). After reviewing the background, these two sites are the best for
the new house construction. The strategic and the features at both locations are the reason I chosen
both of them. However, I recommend we choose Taman Tas as our site for Rylai House Construction.
1.1 Background
Rylai Enterprises is a well known company and has the consistent performance in international level.
So, this is the huge opportunity for the company to run their business well by constructing single
storey terraced house. By the feedback we received, there are some UMP students people nearby
requesting a new house lot for their staying. Moreover, people who are working at UMP having a hard
day to find the house. Even worse the only available house is too far away for them. As you know,
house nowadays is so difficult to get because of the land available decrease year by year, yet the
landlord of both locations is willing to sell the land at low price and I m sure Rylai Company can
afford any one of them. We are planning to construct affordable house for the fresh graduate students
and for the adults these days. The house type is single storey terraced house with a newest design by
the architect Mr Tan Kai Jun. According to Mr Tan, every single house is complete with systematic
drainage system to prevent flood. In addition, the project cost should not

Ocean Conveyor Belt
Overview/Description Demonstrates how water has different densities at different temperatures and
salinity levels, then ties this in to the Ocean Conveyor Belt, a deep ocean circulation driven by
temperature and salinity that carries water around the world. Background Thermohaline circulation or
the Ocean Conveyor Belt is responsible for the large scale ocean circulation. It is driven by global
density differences caused by surface heat, and variations in salinity. As the water moves throughout
the globe with total transit times of up to 1000+ years, the water masses transport heat energy, and
matter (dissolved substances, gases, and nutrients) around the globe. The density of ocean water is not
the same throughout the global oceans, but varies significantly and discretely. Warm seawater expands
and is therefore less dense than cooler seawater. Moreover, saltier water is denser than fresher water
because of the dissolved salt that fills the space between water molecules, resulting in greater ... Show

In these regions, winds support evaporative cooling of the ocean water, which makes it denser due to
thermal processes, but also by removing water molecules resulting in a higher salinity. Formation of
sea ice also increases salinity as fresh/pure water is preferentially frozen first, expelling saltier brine.
These cold, saltier masses of water sink relatively rapidly over a small area. These waters of the North
Atlantic Deep Water (NADW) sinks and flows southward along the continental slope of North and
South America toward Antarctica and flows eastward around the Antarctic mixing with Antarctic
waters. The water circulation then flows northward at dept into the three ocean basins. During this
northward flow, they slowly begin to warm and mix with overlying waters and as a result, rise toward
the surface at a rate of about 1 centimeter per day over most of the

Answer: China and India will be the dominant global suppliers of manufactured goods and
services, respectively, while Brazil and Russia will become the principal suppliers of row materials.
Collectively, on almost every scale, they will become the largest entity on the global stage. The
unfolding influence of the BRICs as engines of new growth and spending power leads some to argue

Question 3: Do you think recency bias has led to overestimating the potential of the BRICs?how

resulting in not enough jobs for these people resulting in unemployment, temporary emigration or
permanent emigration. The Philippines has been lagging behind its neighboring countries such as the
People s Republic of China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam both economically and in public
education for the past four decades. With its economy being characterized by boom bust cycles and

had his business before the Nazi s told him he could no longer have a business. Anne s father gave her
a diary and in 1942, Anne started to write letters to her imaginary friend, Kitty. This expository essay
will explore the living conditions for the two families living inside the annex.
The building where the two families lived was a warehouse with a secret annex that also had an attic.
This attic is where they would live for two years until the Germans discovered them. When they first
arrived, Mr. Frank had to tell them the rules for living in the annex. From eight in the morning to six
in the afternoon, while the workmen and office staff were there, the families could not make a sound.
After the workers left they could eat, talk, play, and read, but even then, they had to be careful not to

Good Guys And Bad Guys Essay

Good Guys and Bad Guys Jimmy Conway and Sam Ace Rothstein, two of the most charismatic
characters in their respective films, are a lot more alike than they seem. Without actually analyzing
and going in depth with both characters, you could see why they both come off more different than
alike. First off, and a huge noticeable difference, is Jimmy s love life compared to Sam s love life.
Jimmy has no attachments to the ladies. Although the real James Conway was married, the character
portrayed by Robert De Niro was not. Portraying no love life in the film Goodfellas really made
Conway stand out from all the other supporting characters. Sam, on the other hand, had Ginger.
Ginger used up Sam like he was a human ATM machine and took advantage of every bit of generosity
Sam had in him. During the last act of the movie when Sam is throwing Ginger s clothes around and
telling her to get out you can tell that he was just acting out of emotion due to the betrayal he had
experienced. This scene was the perfect example of a falling out between ... Show more content on

see by how he treats his wife and daughter. With all of the disrespect he receives from his wife he still
takes it and moves on about his business. Although this gives Sam a nice guy stance it also makes him
look like a doormat, something Jimmy is most certainly not. With all of the people that Jimmy had
whacked, most, if not all the people that helped him with his scores, you can tell what kind of person
Jimmy is. Plain and simple, Jimmy Conway is a selfish, user and abuser, far from Sam s

Northanger Abbey Is A Bildungsroman Analysis
Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey is a Bildungsroman, a coming of age story that focuses on the
psychological development of the protagonist, Catherine Morland. This essay will analyse the
language and narrative techniques of the extract, and discuss how it suggests vicissitudes in Catherine

ubiquitous in ordinary situations. Furthermore, it will argue how Austen s rhetorical techniques work
to encourage reader interest as well as exercising perception when distinguishing between appearance

Using Named Examples Assess The Potential For Water Supply...
Using named examples, assess the potential for water supply to become a source of conflict. (15)
According to the International Water Management Institute environmental research organisation
global water stress is increasing, and a third of all people face some sort of water scarcity. Where
demand exceeds supply and no effective management operates, there will be conflicts between the
various players involved.
In addition, global climate change will exacerbate these challenges faced by countries and
populations. Shifting precipitation patterns threaten to reduce water availability in some regions while
inflicting stronger storms on others, increasing both potential droughts and floods. This may increase
the frequency of more serious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However in order to secure their supply they must engage in peaceful negotiations as violence would
only jeapordise their share of the supply. Thus the potential for water conflict is there as tensions
continue to increase between upstream and downstream nations, and perhaps overtime as the
downstream nations share of the supply is further squeezed, these tensions are likely to result in
conflict.
Conflict can also occur within a country, for example the states situated within the Colorado river
basin have been constantly squabbling over who owns the water supply and who should be allocated
the most water. In the 1920s the Law of the River established the division of water amongst the upper
basin states, it also defined their responsibility to supply water to the lower basin states. This division
had been based on an estimated annual flow of 21 billion m3/yr in 1920, however this was a time of
above normal flows, recent studies have indicated that long term average flows are around 18 billion
m3/yr. The deficit between the flow and the allocation has become more apparent as the population in
the clorado basin states continues to rise. As a result of this deficit tensions are rising between the
states, California receives a large percentage of the water as a result of its large population and
political power even though the river does not directly flow through it. This has heightened tensions
with the states

Abstract
The focus of this research is on comparing how Colombian Americans from the first and second
generations make their decisions in purchasing men s business attire. Variables such as motivation,
lifestyle, occupation, education, family, friends, belonging groups and culture are analyzed to
understand both groups behavior. Among the main differences found between both groups are spoken
language, type of jobs they have, self identification with belonging groups, messages they respond to
and values they respect. The second generation is definitely more American than the first generation,

Other males in the same group (138,617) work in occupations as services, sales, construction and
production that do not require business attire. This denotes that most Colombian American men do not
wear men s business attire. Additionally, on analyzing education level, more than 86% of Colombian
Americans males who are 25 years of age or older have at least a high school diploma, but just 34% of
them have at least bachelor s degree (U.S. Census, 2005). Superior degrees increase the probability of
getting a higher position where usually a men s business attire is required. Since few Colombians are

Colombian Americans have maintained a distinct identity. They reject the notion of assuming a larger

SECTION ONE.
We began the ball rolling, by researching into target audiences . To begin with we got information
from the BFI (British Board of Film Classification), on the two film certificates 15 and 18. We finally
chose the certificate that would allow us to manipulate audiences in the best possible way. In the end
the final decision went with the 18 certificate , It allowed us more freedom of speech and we agreed it
allowed us to use more conventions that are expected in a thriller. The 18 certificate allowed us to ...

This became a strong idea for us.
We thought it would be a worthwhile piece of information if we sent letters off to institutes that were
in a position to provide us with relevant information ( for example, how they tackle the thriller genre
or a way of making a successful thriller movie). The information that was received from Granada
followed the High Concept Model which is a ten point formula which film scholars use to make
successful Hollywood films. With this in mind ,we could now contrast our ideas and see if the thriller
film of ours follows that successful formula. That would add key connotational value for the audience,
such as intertextual links that could keep the audience in a state of familiarity.
We also looked at existing real media texts for their conventions and language to help identify key
stereotypes of characters. We began by looking at Se7en and the Third man . The key conventions
were noted which included the titles, camera angles, key characters etc the gothic lettering for instance
in The Third Man that connotated possible violence, and the exaggerated camera angles used in Se7en
to signify mental distortion and canted frames to represent a lack of balance. Once all the key
language was highlighted , all the information was translated to the idea of the maintenance of
narrative tension, so we could see how big blockbusters kept narrative

How Does Modern Life Evolve Over Millions Of Years Or Was...
Did modern life evolve over millions of years or was it created by God? The controversy started when
Charles Darwin published his book On the Origin of Species. His theory of evolution stated that all
life evolved from a single celled organism. However, creationists rejected this theory. They referenced
the Bible s Book of Genesis for the historical account of how life was created. But without a doubt,
there is undeniable evidence to support the fact that life on earth came from a common ancestor. With
the recent advances in both science and technology, scientists can use fossil records, genetic changes
and anatomical similarities to prove that life as we know it evolved from one common ancestor.
The remains and imprints of organisms found in earlier geological periods are still preserved in
sedimentary rocks. These fossil records allow scientists to look through vast periods of time and attest
to the fact that some species have transitional traits found in larger groups of organisms. This proves
that species evolved from a distant ancestor and were not fixed there by God. Animals such as apes
and the Archaeopteryx are evidence of the missing links and the gaps humanity has filled in the fossil
records. They are also examples of transitional species that have tied different groups of species
together through common traits and skeletal features. Fossil records also prove that single celled
organisms were succeeded by multi celled organisms which ties back to Charles Darwin

would be the partnership structure. First you must ask yourself; do we have the same vision or
objectives on how to run the business? Are we able to communicate well with each other? Most
important question of all, do you trust this individual? If two of these three questions is no then maybe
the partnership structure isn t for you and you should set the business up as a sole proprietorship. The
partnership business structure allows two or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having discretionary time, more contacts, support and motivation is a big plus when starting a
business. The right partnership has these qualities. When one needs time to spend with family and
friends or even just to get the most important things dealing with the business done, having a partner is
a good ideal because days or weeks can be rotated among the two. By bringing on a partner, you
acquire a new network of contacts and potential customers. If one partner was to died or become
physical impaired while in the partnership agreement the other partner can take over the business
completely or choose to sell the other partner s half of the business (Price, 2012). With sole
proprietorship if the owner becomes impaired or dies the business can result in termination because
there is no one to take over the business (LaMance, 2013) If you are a team player, I say go for the
partnership, but talk things over with your potential partner before making any decisions. Now if you
choose to go in it alone with the sole proprietorship keep in mind that some investors think businesses
started under the sole proprietorship are less professional than any other structure that consist of two
or more people. Works Cited Partnership: Pros and Cons. (2014). Retrieved from Boundless:

Were The Germans Justified In Rethinking The Lusitania...
On May 7, 1915, the Germans sank a British ship named the Lusitania that was carrying American
passengers. At the time Britain and Germany were in a state of war. The Germans were justified in
sinking the Lusitania because the ship had a British flag, had weapon storage departments, and went
into British territory. One of the Germans reasons they had attacked the Lusitania was because of the
British flag that the captain had aboard the passenger ship. Before sailing of the Lusitania the Germans
had put out a statement saying in accordance with formal notice given by the Imperial German
Government, vessels flying the flag of Great Britain, or of any of her allies, are liable to destruction..
(Imperial german embassy) ; Thus, proving the Germans

the next assignment if you haven t completed in the assignment within a few days.
Lesson one: The Plot in the Story
Introduction
Good stories have a beginning, middle and end. But editors look for the plot arc, or some variation of
it. If you are an established, well recognized author you might tweak The arc model, but the rest of us
must slug through it. And for good reason. The arc will pull your reader through the story. It is the
reason why your reader will turn the pages until the very end. It also helps the writer focus their story
line, cut out the parts that are slowing it down, and highlight the parts that help move the story. Trust
me, in the end The arc will be your friend.
If all of this comes as a surprise to you then you have been reading wonderful books or watching
wonderful movies/TV shows

Inheritance Risk Essay
Out of date wills
Considering Rod and Rachel have not updated their Wills, this presents the issue of the assets of their
estate potentially no longer going to the beneficiaries that they would currently like or intend to
receive.
As Rod has been in two previous marriages, there is the risk that in the event of his passing that due to
his Will no longer being valid due to divorce (Allianz.com.au, 2017), unintended beneficiaries could
stake a claim on his estate (intestate) resulting in Rachel receiving a reduced or nil benefit.
Also considering they are both business partners in a company, there is the risk that if either of them
pass away, that the share of the company may be inherited by unintended beneficiaries which can lead

Violence In Chris Crutchers Whale Talk
Chris Crutchers book Whale Talk is a book about T.J. and the swim team but there are bigger things
going on that all revolve around violence. Violence is a huge key in this book because of Heidi, T.J. s
dads death, and the way Rich Marshall treats his family. Chris Crutchers purpose for writing Whale
Talk was to show violence and how it affects people by using diction, irony, and a modern connection.
Whale Talk uses a lot of swear words which is a form of diction. He uses swear words to emphasize
parts where things are intense for the characters. GET THESE GODD*** F*** N***** KIDS OUT
THE HOUSE (Crutcher 94). Chris Crutcher has Heidi Marshall say these words to emphasize how
violent Rich Marshall is. Rich Marshall is Heidi s abusive father. Heidi also used the N word which
shows racism and usually when there is racism there is violence. ... Show more content on

American Pioneers Vs Pioneers
I recognise your claim in your speech and I have to say I disagree with you. I solemnly believe that the
statue should be put up because the pioneers had every right to come here. They were in search for a
better living because in Holland they were not able to raise children nor make a living. It is very easy
today to compare it too refugees that come to America to better their lives also. Today we have people
are coming to America to better their lives, just like the pioneers did. This statue shows the American
dream. It is tragic that there was a war that resulted in their appearances but change is natural in life.

The Positive And Negative Impacts Of Social Media
Over 60% of 13 to 17 year olds have at least one profile on social media, with many spending more
than two hours a day on social networking sites. Social media are computer mediated technologies
that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of
expression via virtual networks and communities. Some of the most popular social media sites being
Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tumblr. These sites have more than 100,000,000 users. So it
brings up the question ; Is social media ok? Observers have noted a range of positive and negative
impacts of social media use. Although it can be addictive and serves as an outlet for a hybrid bully that
can hide behind a screen, which is often referenced as Cyber bullying, it also forms an inevitable
platform for people to connect to the world. While social media can be harmful it is more handy than
destructive. It is a way to spread awareness, express oneself, provide comical relief and help one to
meet others.
Social media is the easiest way to spread awareness. For example, in 2014 it seemed that pro athletes
all the way to your local barber were dumping buckets of ice cold water over their bodies to show
support for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patients. Over the 2 months that people were participating
in the ALS challenge it raised 115 million dollars. Due to Anthony
Senerchia getting his story out to the internet it allowed the web to do its thing and notify billions of
people and use all the money that was made thanks to social media to conduct research. Social
2
media allows one sad story to be spread by reposting the story from just one account and then to be
shared to hundreds of other people s timeline. In order to be deemed trending at least 1k shares need to
be reposted. After this is accomplished leave it all to a touch of a button for the story to spread to even
the most remote places in the world. Even if a person doesn t directly follow someone that reposted it
will be brought to their attention through their peers likes, retweets, etc.
One important aspect of life is knowing who you are. A way to figure it out or realize what you are
into is by looking at what profiles you are following. Many people are

Pros And Cons Of Genetic Counseling
Prompt I On July 27th, 1997, my life and my family s lives changed. My mother received a phone call
from my pediatrician, letting her know that her three year old daughter had a positive result for cystic
fibrosis (CF). When she describes that moment in her life, she says that it was the most stressful time
she can remember. As a pharmacist, she had always known what CF was but she had no idea how to
raise a child who had been diagnosed with it. To ease her mind my pediatrician referred her to a
genetic counselor (GC). I was three when I was sitting across from a genetic counselor, so I never
knew what the role of a genetic counselor was or any specifics of the profession. When I was in high
school my mom mentioned her visit to a genetic counselor and I asked her to expand on that ... Show

In the case of the relationship between GC and consultand, items discussed would include: medical
history, genetic history, family history, and risk assessment. If a consultand is seeing a GC that
specializes in cancer, cancer will be the main focus of that conversation. If a consultand is seeing pre
natal counselor, family histories of miscarriages, autosomal disorders, and congenital malformations
will be the topics of conversation. The influence of genetics on the life of the consultand is the main
goal of the professional relationship. This kind of relationship is also defined by its limitations.
According to the National Society of Genetic Counselors, a genetic counselor is someone who uses
the process of helping people understand and adapt to the medical, psychological, and familial
implications of the genetic contributions to disease . These main goals of a genetic counselor outline
the limitations of the relationship. All professions that involve one on one interaction with clients or
patients have a limited skill set, and therefore a limited

school that day. At the same place Rosa boarded another month later. She was sitting two seats from
the emergency exit. Until four white people boarded the bus , and the bus driver ordered her, along
with three other black people. Colvin still did not move. She said, I was thinking about slavery

Evolution And Our Family Tree
For many years, scientists have been finding additional and new evidence about evolution and our
family tree. This Face Changes the Human Story. But How? (Shreeve 2015) discusses the findings of
mysterious fossil remains which effect human evolution by providing additional and new information
as a new species. The new mysterious fossils could possibly be a missing link in human evolution
between apes and humans. Science is always changing as scientist are constantly making new
discoveries. This new mysterious species has the potential to expand and fill in the gaps of human
evolution but it takes time and should not be rushed in order to execute the findings as accurately as
possible.
In 2013, a breakthrough in relation to evolution occurred when fossils were found in South Africa in
the Rising Star cave. Paleoanthropologist Lee Berger, discovered Homo naledi with the help of Steven
Tucker and Rick Hunter (Shreeve 2015). When Tucker and Hunter first came across the fossil bones
deep in the cave they found part of a jaw with some teeth still in place. At first, Tucker and Hunter
assumed it belonged to a human but both men were corrected after Berger examined the photographs
explaining it was definitely not human because it displayed primitive characteristics (Shreeve 2015).
After coming across such a mystery, Berger decided to set up camp at the cave and put a team together
in order to retrieve and examine all of the skeletal remains in Rising Star.

The Importance Of Censorship In Music
Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed for
what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide
between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no surprise
there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that so much
happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped intensify
the differences between society.
Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called
the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988, pp.295
296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the leading people
such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that there was outrage
over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) who was a
radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they were poisoning the youth.
This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any form of rock and roll. Race played
its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock music was seen as a major starting point
for censorship since it caused such a major divide between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988,
p.297). In today s society, I believe that genres of

Racism In The Lion King
The Lion King was one of my favorite childhood movies because I never got bored of seeing it
countless times and it always made me cry when Mufasa died. Yet it s a very good movie for children
to understand morals/values though they will later come to understand how racist the movie is. The
movie is set in Africa, where there is this kingdom made up of lions. The king s name is Mufasa; he
has a son name Simba who he is going to be king in the future, but Mufasa s brother, Scar (the
antagonist) found out and killed Mufasa, making Simba run away to the wild. After Mufasa s death,
his proud land (homeland) was invaded by hyenas and Uncle Scar, which he becomes the king of the
proud land. Simba finds out that his Uncle Scar is the king of the proud ... Show more content on

Another moral is that if you run from your past the past will be haunting you, when Simba runs away
from his past, he overcomes it by going to the proud land and challenging Scar for the throne. The
circle of life is another moral which means birth, life, reproduction, and death (Kumar). Therefore, this
represents the life of Simba the stages of the circle of life. Some people arrive in our lives only to
satisfy their own vested interests; they try to persuade us to walk in the paths of evil and petty
(Kumar). This corresponds to Scar when he s trying to influence Simba to go to the hyenas. Be
obedient to your parents, if you are guilty of something never run away from it (Victorious). This
shows the scene of The Lion King when Simba runs away because he killed his father (Mufasa) and
he thought his mother would kill him because of his

Throughout the seventh season of the show, Jon displays a great value of what he says, in which he is not willing to put the value of his own word up for a powerful and invaluable alliance between two sides in a war. While talking to another ruler about his word, Jon claims that When enough people make false promises, words stop meaning anything, and there are no more answers only better and better lies (Benioff Weiss, 2017), thus he knows that every time someone lies the value of their word is less trustworthy, and to not lie keep his honesty unhurt. Being able to have great honesty and the trust of people is a trait that others will look up to, and as a role model, it is an invaluable characteristic to obtain. A third important virtue that any decent role model should bear is being humble. To put it as Gloria Schramm states, Be humble. No matter how accomplished you are, other people still deserve basic courtesy and respect (Schramm, 2017). Often it is shown how Jon Snow is one of the humblest characters in Game of Thrones, as he often respects others that may be less than him on the social ladder or in riches, but yet he still recognizes everyone for their own ... Changing Trends in Sexual Orientation Changing Trends in Sexual Orientation According to Merriam Webster Medical Dictionary, sexual orientation refers to the inclination of an individual with respect to heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual behavior. The famous Kinsey Reports by Alfred Kinsey (1948) claims that about 10% of American adults are homosexual. This astonishing figure is often presented as fact but is often criticized to be highly overestimated by academia. (Refer to Appendix 1 for figures presented by other institutes). Ocean Conveyor Belt Overview/Description Demonstrates how water has different densities at different temperatures and salinity levels, then ties this in to the Ocean Conveyor Belt, a deep ocean circulation driven by temperature and salinity that carries water around the world. Background Thermohaline circulation or the Ocean Conveyor Belt is responsible for the large scale ocean circulation. It is driven by global density differences caused by surface heat, and variations in salinity. As the water moves throughout the globe with total transit times of up to 1000+ years, the water masses transport heat energy, and matter (dissolved substances, gases, and nutrients) around the globe. The density of ocean water is not the same throughout the global oceans, but varies significantly and discretely. Warm seawater expands and is therefore less dense than cooler seawater. Moreover, saltier water is denser than fresher water because of the dissolved salt that fills the space between water molecules, resulting in greater ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However in order to secure their supply they must engage in peaceful negotiations as violence would only jeapordise their share of the supply. Thus the potential for water conflict is there as tensions continue to increase between upstream and downstream nations, and perhaps overtime as the downstream nations share of the supply is further squeezed, these tensions are likely to result in conflict. Conflict can also occur within a country, for example the states situated within the Colorado river basin have been constantly squabbling over who owns the water supply and who should be allocated the most water. In the 1920s the Law of the River established the division of water amongst the upper basin states, it also defined their responsibility to supply water to the lower basin states. This division had been based on an estimated annual flow of 21 billion m3/yr in 1920, however this was a time of above normal flows, recent studies have indicated that long term average flows are around 18 billion m3/yr. The deficit between the flow and the allocation has become more apparent as the population in the clorado basin states continues to rise. As a result of this deficit tensions are rising between the states, California receives a large percentage of the water as a result of its large population and political power even though the river does not directly flow through it. The controversy started when Charles Darwin published his book On the Origin of Species. His theory of evolution stated that all life evolved from a single celled organism. However, creationists rejected this theory. They referenced the Bible s Book of Genesis for the historical account of how life was created. But without a doubt, there is undeniable evidence to support the fact that life on earth came from a common ancestor. With the recent advances in both science and technology, scientists can use fossil records, genetic changes and anatomical similarities to prove that life as we know it evolved from one common ancestor. The remains and imprints of organisms found in earlier geological periods are still preserved in sedimentary rocks. These fossil records allow scientists to look through vast periods of time and attest to the fact that some species have transitional traits found in larger groups of organisms. This proves that species evolved from a distant ancestor and were not fixed there by God. Animals such as apes and the Archaeopteryx are evidence of the missing links and the gaps humanity has filled in the fossil records. They are also examples of transitional species that have tied different groups of species together through common traits and skeletal features. Fossil records also prove that single celled organisms were succeeded by multi celled organisms which ties back to Charles Darwin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By bringing on a partner, you acquire a new network of contacts and potential customers. If one partner was to died or become physical impaired while in the partnership agreement the other partner can take over the business completely or choose to sell the other partner s half of the business (Price, 2012). With sole proprietorship if the owner becomes impaired or dies the business can result in termination because there is no one to take over the business (LaMance, 2013) If you are a team player, I say go for the partnership, but talk things over with your potential partner before making any decisions. Now if you choose to go in it alone with the sole proprietorship keep in mind that some investors think businesses started under the sole proprietorship are less professional than any other structure that consist of two or more people. • 22. Were The Germans Justified In Rethinking The Lusitania... On May 7, 1915, the Germans sank a British ship named the Lusitania that was carrying American passengers. At the time Britain and Germany were in a state of war. The Germans were justified in sinking the Lusitania because the ship had a British flag, had weapon storage departments, and went into British territory. One of the Germans reasons they had attacked the Lusitania was because of the British flag that the captain had aboard the passenger ship. Before sailing of the Lusitania the Germans had put out a statement saying in accordance with formal notice given by the Imperial German Government, vessels flying the flag of Great Britain, or of any of her allies, are liable to destruction.. • 23. Literary Reflection Intent and purpose of this class The intent of this class is to give the student a well rounded overview of the basic parts of a short story or novel. These include plot, character, point of view, strong openings to a story, dialogue and writing enhancement. It is intended to help writers. It is not intended to be a literary criticism class. I will also provide a brief overview of genre, marketability and marketing promotion. I will review work for content and structure. I will not copyedit the student s work. My focus will not be on grammar or sentence structure. I will give homework assignments and it is helpful to finish the assignments. But we may move onto the next assignment if you haven t completed in the assignment within a few days. Lesson one: The Plot in the Story Introduction Good stories have a beginning, middle and end. But editors look for the plot arc, or some variation of it. If you are an established, well recognized author you might tweak The arc model, but the rest of us must slug through it. And for good reason. The arc will pull your reader through the story. It is the reason why your reader will turn the pages until the very end. It also helps the writer focus their story line, cut out the parts that are slowing it down, and highlight the parts that help move the story. Trust me, in the end The arc will be your friend. If all of this comes as a surprise to you then you have been reading wonderful books or watching wonderful movies/TV shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Violence In Chris Crutchers Whale Talk Chris Crutchers book Whale Talk is a book about T.J. and the swim team but there are bigger things going on that all revolve around violence. Violence is a huge key in this book because of Heidi, T.J. s dads death, and the way Rich Marshall treats his family. Chris Crutchers purpose for writing Whale Talk was to show violence and how it affects people by using diction, irony, and a modern connection. Whale Talk uses a lot of swear words which is a form of diction. He uses swear words to emphasize parts where things are intense for the characters. GET THESE GODD*** F*** N***** KIDS OUT THE HOUSE (Crutcher 94). Chris Crutcher has Heidi Marshall say these words to emphasize how violent Rich Marshall is. Rich Marshall is Heidi s abusive father. • 28. The Positive And Negative Impacts Of Social Media Over 60% of 13 to 17 year olds have at least one profile on social media, with many spending more than two hours a day on social networking sites. Social media are computer mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of expression via virtual networks and communities. Some of the most popular social media sites being Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tumblr. These sites have more than 100,000,000 users. So it brings up the question ; Is social media ok? Observers have noted a range of positive and negative impacts of social media use. Although it can be addictive and serves as an outlet for a hybrid bully that can hide behind a screen, which is often referenced as Cyber bullying, it also forms an inevitable platform for people to connect to the world. While social media can be harmful it is more handy than destructive. It is a way to spread awareness, express oneself, provide comical relief and help one to meet others. Social media is the easiest way to spread awareness. For example, in 2014 it seemed that pro athletes all the way to your local barber were dumping buckets of ice cold water over their bodies to show support for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis patients. Over the 2 months that people were participating in the ALS challenge it raised 115 million dollars. Due to Anthony Senerchia getting his story out to the internet it allowed the web to do its thing and notify billions of people and use all the money that was made thanks to social media to conduct research. Social 2 media allows one sad story to be spread by reposting the story from just one account and then to be shared to hundreds of other people s timeline. In order to be deemed trending at least 1k shares need to be reposted. After this is accomplished leave it all to a touch of a button for the story to spread to even the most remote places in the world. Even if a person doesn t directly follow someone that reposted it will be brought to their attention through their peers likes, retweets, etc. One important aspect of life is knowing who you are. (Shreeve 2015) discusses the findings of mysterious fossil remains which effect human evolution by providing additional and new information as a new species. The new mysterious fossils could possibly be a missing link in human evolution between apes and humans. Science is always changing as scientist are constantly making new discoveries. This new mysterious species has the potential to expand and fill in the gaps of human evolution but it takes time and should not be rushed in order to execute the findings as accurately as possible. In 2013, a breakthrough in relation to evolution occurred when fossils were found in South Africa in the Rising Star cave. Paleoanthropologist Lee Berger, discovered Homo naledi with the help of Steven Tucker and Rick Hunter (Shreeve 2015). When Tucker and Hunter first came across the fossil bones deep in the cave they found part of a jaw with some teeth still in place. At first, Tucker and Hunter assumed it belonged to a human but both men were corrected after Berger examined the photographs explaining it was definitely not human because it displayed primitive characteristics (Shreeve 2015). • 33. The Importance Of Censorship In Music Censorship is a broad topic that can lead to chaos and misunderstanding if not clearly conveyed for what it is. For example, rock music, the first major threat to traditional thinking caused a divide between generations because of how different and explicit it became in the mid 1900s. It s no surprise there were people ready to combat rock music. However, what is surprising is the fact that so much happened with so little change in the music around us. Censorship if anything only helped intensify the differences between society. Controversy and censorship in music was around long before the rock music. In fact, a genre called the blues consistently dealt with the imposed censorship on their recordings (McDonald, 1988, pp.295 296). Also race spiked the urge to censor rock and roll even further. With some of the leading people such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard being people of color it was no surprise that there was outrage over their music. Where things get even more traumatic is when the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) who was a radical racist group told the public not to buy Negro records because they were poisoning the youth. This depicts the fact that racism was a heavy combatant against any form of rock and roll. Race played its part in many forms of music (jazz, blues, etc.), but rock music was seen as a major starting point for censorship since it caused such a major divide between the youth and adults (McDonald, 1988, p.297). The movie is set in Africa, where there is this kingdom made up of lions. Some people arrive in our lives only to satisfy their own vested interests; they try to persuade us to walk in the paths of evil and petty (Kumar). This corresponds to Scar when he s trying to influence Simba to go to the hyenas. Be obedient to your parents, if you are guilty of something never run away from it (Victorious).
