I-Scan uses electrical current consumption to diagnose failures on electronic and electrical boards. It makes the repair process more efficient by allowing users to implement a general diagnostic profile to any board. I-Scan requires an interface to couple the board to an acquisition card and external PC for processing. This allows the user to see any failures detected based on comparing the board's current consumption patterns to expected patterns for different device types on the board.
