Hyperacidity is caused by an excessive amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. It can be caused by foods that do not agree with one's constitution, spicy foods, smoking, stress and more. Symptoms include restlessness, nausea, belching and indigestion. Management includes following a diet that avoids irritants and practicing yoga poses like vajrasana and bhujangasana as well as pranayamas like bhastrika, shitali and shitkari to help reduce acidity.
