What do you think of wolves? Do you think they re blood thirsty killers, or do you think they are
rather friendly animals? In the book, Never Cry Wolf, (1963) the author, Farley Mowat, writes
about his excursion to the sub arctic Barren Lands of Canada to study how wolves act and how
the community is being affected by the wolves. The people of Churchill lead Mowat to believe
the wolves are something that they aren t, which is a blood thirsty killer. Mowat then uses the
rhetorical strategy Pathos throughout the book to show you how he personifies the wolves and
how fear is all in our minds. Pathos represents an appeal to the emotions of the audience. Mowat
uses this rhetorical strategy to get us to feel the emotions that he felt. When arriving in
Churchill, Mowat says that he discovered that although wolves reputedly devour several people
in the Arctic Zone every year, they will always refrain from attacking a pregnant eskimo (24). In
Chapter 4 When is a Wolf Not a Wolf?, Mowat shares his fear. He hears howling in the distance
and quickly hides saying I found myself wishing I were a pregnant eskimo (42). Although this is
funny, it made me feel fear for Mowat because of Churchill s rumors that you would be eaten. It
turns out the howling was just huskies which led Mowat to the realization that maybe everything
that the people said isn t true. A couple chapters later in Chapter 7 The Watcher Watched, Mowat
learned that maybe wolves aren t savage killers and maybe just the opposite of that. This lesson
was learned when Mowat was out searching for the wolves and they were behind him the whole
time. A struck of shock lit Mowat up when he realized that the wolves had any chance to attack him
and they didn t, instead they sat quietly and observed Mowat. This sent fear through me because it
led Mowat to new ideas which means he s going to put more trust into the wolves and go right into

conversation balanced. Keeping the conversation balanced and not talking too much was my main
issue going into the meeting. The next thing I feel like I did really well on was asking for her

Contemporary artist, Kathy Temin, visited the concentration camps in Europe, her family history
dating back to the holocaust. Her father, a survivor of the Holocaust, was the only family member
to survive the onslaught. The thing about concentration camps is that they leave you feeling
overwhelmed and very small, both psychologically and physically. That s what the spaces are set

Discuss your professional objectives both short and long term. What has motivated you to apply
to this program? My organization Penske Truck Leasing has been experiencing a sharp decline in
the revenue generated from its full service leasing. Results of initial sales analysis concluded that
the inflow of the new customers for full service leasing has been growing steadily; thus to increase
revenue, the focus needs to be on the renewals for the existing customers. The company realizes
that a lack of validated customer loyalty drivers prevents effective focus on customer retention and
thus directly affects profitability. Challenges with data availability and business metrics have made
attempts to measure and diagnose our service delivery and customer experience, both, difficult and
inconclusive. In order to address this challenge, the organization has launched an initiative to build
a customer analytics system that can achieve a single view of customer experience and make
decisions about how best to acquire and retain customers, recognize high value customers and
proactively interact with them. I have been identified as the lead architect for the BI and analytics
team that is going to implement this project. I am also privileged to be associated with an initiative
that is directed towards human resource analytics that analyzes the performance and profitability

Perhaps one of the biggest points of contention in Serbia is nationalism and identity. Serbian
nationalism is especially unique due to its particular ethnic implications. It can be traced back to
the rise of nationalism in the Balkans during Ottoman rule. Serbia has existed between various
empires and nation states. Many Serbians voice the need for self autonomy, often citing being ruled
by outsiders for hundreds of years. Today Serbiaseen by its people as an unfinished state. Thus, the
need for creating autonomous identity is especially relevant.1 Ristic in her essay on Serbian
identity, that the formation of a nation state s identity is crucial to its wellbeing. In general, identity
is built upon three essential interdependent elements: 1. birth, which creates ties to family, nation
and to a concrete geographical space; 2. culture, which forms individuals and groups spiritually and
emotionally; 3. acceptance of common values which help creating communities of values. Hence
identity can be determined on the basis of the following categories: place of living (town or district
of town, country, continent etc), religion, family, profession, nation, age class, ideology etc.2
The problem with Serbian national identity is that there is not enough security in the
aforementioned criterion historically. Ristic states that defining national identity upon values and
ideology leads in Serbia to two relatively opposite understandings of national identity and the values

Rhetorical Analysis
In the view of Lloyd Blitzer, he explains what makes situations rhetorical that is identical to a
moral act . His definition of a moral act is when you act or preform by any situation. He shows
examples of different types of rhetorical analysis that happened in the past. Blitzer states that a
rhetorical analysis is a change in reality. Therefore, he is saying that it is an action or new
information that is to be addressed or known. He states that rhetorical analysis should be followed
by a rhetorical method. Blitzer mentioned that there are three main components when writing a
rhetorical analysis. One component to look for is referred to as exigence. Exigence is the reason
you are proving something. Audience is the part of a rhetorical analysis that involves people that
you are trying to get to understand your situation. Lloyd stated that everyone is being capable by
the change of speech. From my perspective, Blitzer s rhetorical audience consists only of people
who are more likely influenced by discourse and have the possibility of becoming mediators of
change. The final component is constraint. Constraint deals with limitation and restrictions in a
rhetorical analysis. Charleston Hope provides a great opportunity to become involved and assist with
its mission throughout the community.
