 Defination of HTTPS.

 SSL Handshaking.
 Difference between HTTP and HTTPS.
 Lets Encrypt.
Defination of HTTPS
 HTTPS stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure.
 It is the secure Version of HTTP.
 It is the part of Application Layer Protocol Of TCP/IP Network.
 It uses the port no. 443 for Data Communication.
 It allows the secure transactions by wrapping up the entire communication
within the SSL.
 It provides bidirectional security of Data.
Working of HTTPS
 The HTTPS is nothing but is the combination of “ HTTP+SSl “.
 The SSL stands for “ Secure Socket Layer “ which is responsible for securing
the sensitive data over the Internet like when you are doing
Netbanking,Online Payment etc.
 The HTTP Protocol woking with SSl and now called the HTTPS.
 In HTTPS, the SSL takes care over of making sure that the data goes
securely over the Internet.
 To understand the SSL,you must know the concepts of “CRYPTOGRAPHY”
on which the SSL is based.
CRYPTOGRAPHY
 The Cryptography is the art or science of hiding the information.
EXAMPLE
HELLO WORLD cryptography @1#$% *&^*!
This is called the CIPHER TEXT
PLAIN TEXT
SYMMETRIC KEY
ENCRYPTION
&
DECRYPTION
Uses the same key for encrypting and decrypting
called the “PUBLIC KEY”.
Managing HTTPS migration
Managing HTTPS migration
Managing HTTPS migration
ASYMMETRIC KEY
ENCRYPTION
&
DECRYPTION
Uses the different key for encrypting and decrypting called
the “PUBLIC KEY” for Encryption and “PRIVATE KEY” for
Decryption.
Secure Socket Layer
HANDSHAKE
EXAMPLES OF HTTPS
 Let's Encrypt is an upcoming certificate authority to be launched on
November 16, 2015 that will provide free X.509 certificates for Transport
Layer Security encryption (TLS) via an automated process designed to
eliminate the current complex process of manual creation, validation,
signing, installation and renewal of certificates for secure websites
