High School Musical is a teen muscial focused on a group of teenagers who are linked by singing. It links to our teaser trailor because we plan to do a spoof/musical/sporting genre. High School Musical covers two of these genres: musical and sporting (to a degree). The spoof element will occur from others posters we analyse; such as Epic Movie. 1. The title text colour is black and red. This represents colours of the school, which is patriotic. The red is a recurring colour throughout the trilogy. It symbolises love and relationships as well as passion for each other, the game of basketball and music. The ‘3’ is governing to the rest of the title. This is show the importance of the success of the 3 rd film. ‘Oct 24’ situated at the bottom of the page, initialises when the film will be out, and is eye-catching due to the black mounted on the white background. The referential jargon about the production company is a stereotypical connotation of a movie poster. The full poster. These are the six main characters in HSM. The blonde girl is wearing bright pink, which emphasises her extremely feminine characteristics and follows the typical stereotype. However the boy in the background (her on screen brother), subverts the gender stereotype with feminine mise en scene and body language. The two others guys are very masculine and are powerful in the storyline. They are the lead boys of the group and enjoy sport, girls and hold on to tradition masculine values. The others two girls are also very feminine but aren’t so egotistical. The characters all link because the all sing and are all celebrating the graduation in the same style. The red stands out against the white background.
