HRM 498 Week 4 HR Strategic Compensation Planning
Process
Design a simple online compensation survey in Microsoft® Word of no more than 10
questions for employees as part of a compensation-planning process that:
 Determines broadly what motivates workers from different generations and
cultural backgrounds.
 Determines whether or not money motivates these employees.
Interview an employee from each age group of 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s from any
organization, domestic or global. The employee may be of any culture that he or she
self-identifies. Ask each employee to fill out your survey.
Analyze your results.
Create a matrix or grid of compensation plans for each generation and culture that would
result in high performance, based on the survey results.
Provide an analysis of the survey results and the matrix, along with an explanation of how
these compensation plans as well as generational and cultural issues integrate into the
strategic planning process.
Use at least a minimum of three in-text citation sources within the analysis. The sources

 Explain how each of Hofstede's cultural dimensions might result in specific kinds
of HR programs and practices.
 Examine the four dimensions of culture presented in Hofstede's framework. What
strategies would you recommend in dealing with a different culture that is opposite
on each of the dimensions? For example, what advice would you give to someone
from a culture that stresses individualism when dealing with someone from a
collectivist culture?

Your choice must reflect predictions for priorities and concerns in your company's
Strategic HRM Plan.
Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word detailed analysis in a Microsoft® Word document, written in
the third person voice, explaining how these issues and considerations affect your
company and the strategic plans.
Create a chart with descriptions of chart contents, or a detailed, bulleted outline of your
recommendations for actions for five years and the company's capabilities.
Include organizational limitations and how those will be addressed. This chart or outline
must include justification for each recommendation for forecasting needs and strategic
steps provided each year.
