Foreshadowing In The Most Dangerous Game
Almost everyone in the world has gone through a situation that they didn t want to be in. In The
Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, the main character, Rainsford, falls overboard off his
ship after hearing gunshots from somewhere in the distance. As he fell, His cry was cut short by
the water engulfing him Rainsford being both intelligent and a pro hunter, follows the sound of the
gunshot fire to safety of land to save his own life. From previous experience of hunting, he knows
that there s a man hunting with a .22 pistol. Rainsford then finds a man after searching for a place
to survive. His name was General Zaroff. After getting to know Zaroff he finds out that this island
is called Ship Trap Island and learns that he s being hunted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This changes Rainsford outlook on hunting. He first thinks of it as how Animals have no feelings
and that Animals aren t as important as humans. Rainsford then has his opinion change to the exact
opposite. Being hunted is the most fearful thing to happen to him. The scene between Rainsford
and Zaroff illustrates that both the same type of interests, but Zaroff just likes more of a Challenge
or More Competition as he says. Richard Connell uses inner thinking as a craft throughout Zaroff
hunting Rainsford on the island. Rainsford says that he Will not lose his nerve and chants Nerve!
Nerve! Nerve! to himself to stay calm and collected even though he s is being hunted by a human,
his own kind. All this evidence suggests that Richard Connell uses inner thinking to tie the story to

Quotes From Touching Spirit Bear
In the novel Touching Spirit Bear, by Ben Mikaelsen, a boy named Cole Matthews has a big
problem. After several crimes, Cole gets in trouble and ends up in jail. Since he does not want
to face a lot of jail time, he decides to join Circle Justice. Circle Justice requires Cole to want to
change. However, Cole Matthews instead avoids responsibility and accuses someone else for
everything that happens to him. His responses are pernicious to himself, and he needs to learn to
have the courage to honestly examine his behaviors. Throughout Chapters 1 10, there are
several examples of Cole blaming others for things he did. First of all, in Chapter 2, pages 22
23, there are several pieces of evidence that show how Cole reacts to his circumstances. The text
says, Somebody would pay for this after Cole must decide if he wants to go to adult court, or join
Circle Justice. This shows that even though it was Cole s fault for... Show more content on

In the meeting, each person in the circle gets a chance to openly express their feelings about
Cole and his violent crime. When it s Cole s turn to speak, he falsely announces that he is sorry
for everything that he had done. He says, Uh, I m Cole Matthews, and I m here because I really
screwed up then, I know what I did was wrong, and I want Peter to know I m sorry for
everything. Later, the text says it wasn t like he had meant to hurt anyone. Besides, this wouldn
t have happened if Peter had kept his mouth shut. This reveals that Cole does not take
accountability for his actions, and instead blames Peter for getting in trouble after Cole robbed a
hardware store. This is harming Cole because it is slowing down his healing process. By blaming
his fate on others, he grows deeper and deeper into the dark, when he really needs to get back into
the light. It will take Cole a lot of grit to realize he is to blame for all that happens to

The Simpsons is America s Household Essay
The Simpsons is America s Household Television shows such as The Simpson s portray the
deterioration of families in our society. From the outside they appear to be the typical nuclear

Anytown, U.S.A., but as most families today The Simpson s have their own problems. Marge and
Homer are the quintessential American couple. Homer is a blue collared worker, who spends more

Goodfellas Essay
Goodfellas
(Goodfellas is the film adaptation of the non fiction book ?Wiseguy?, written by Nicholas Pileggi.
The film charts the rise and fall of Henry Hill?s thirty year career within the New York mafia. The
film was released in 1990 and was directed by Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas stars Ray Liotta as
Henry Hill, Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill (Henry?s Wife), Robert Dc Niro as James Conway and
Joe Pesci as Tommy DeVito.
The film begins with one of the most horrific and sickening moments to appear in a film, the
murder of Billy Batts. At this point the viewer knows nothing of the background events that run up
to this scene. Additionally, the characters are not yet known, so there is no emotional baggage
being carried with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of the narration is to smooth over the various jumps in the story. Throughout the
film sub stories change quickly, narration is the device that covers the holes. Without narration
the viewer would become lost very quickly, and may not fully understand events. At the
beginning of the film, Henry is shown as a young boy looking out of his bedroom window
admiring the lifestyle of the local ?Wiseguys?. Here follows a very quick succession of events
that show how his character gets involved with these people and what he does to earn more
respect from them and eventually be accepted into their group. The narration explains why he
admires them so much, ?They did whatever they wanted?, why he wants to part of their group and
why he does what he does, ?It was about being somebody in a neighbourhood of nobodies?.
Within the film there are four main characters; Henry Hill, Karen Hill, Tommy DeVito, and James
Conway. Henry and Karen are the only characters that are followed throughout the film. On the
whole, character development is kept to a minimum. For instance, many characters are introduced
to the viewer during a walkthrough steadicam shot of a bar. Most of these characters will be seen
later on in the film, but will only in the background of various scenes. The viewer may recognise
these characters but they still know no more about them. Even with the main characters there are

Micro Air Vehicles ( Mavs )
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs)
Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) are a class of Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs), significantly smaller
than typical UAVs. UAVs are aircrafts without human pilot aboard. These are controlled either
automatically by on board computers or through remote control by a pilot on the ground [3]. The
modern aircrafts can be as small as 20 centimeters. The design features and the configurations of
MAVs are different from that of normal aircrafts. The speeds of MAVs are very low and the size
is less than 30 cm in length, width or height. With the development and comfort of electronics,
smaller aircrafts, which can perform various tasks that were previously performed by manned
aircrafts or larger UAVs, have been possible. Commercially off shelf components like motor,
propeller, ESC, servo motor, battery, autopilot, data modem, camera (Payload), videoTransmitter
are tested and trained for performance and is then integrated with MAVs for autonomous flight
operations as shown in Figure 1.1 [4].
Fig 1.1: Block diagram of MAV integration
1.2 Motivation
In today s world, MAVs equipped with digital cameras are increasing in number for real time
applications. MAVs are widely used because of its small size, low weight, low cost and flexibility
in design.
The main purposes of MAVs are to provide video surveillance during military exercisers,
firefighting, and weather monitoring, policing and border control [5]. However the video obtained

covers a significant part of care that is given to a child. There are still some part of areas that
money cannot for fill. Many parents made the mistake into thinking that a new born child is

The European Union Promote Unity And Equality Amongst The...
The European Union aims to promote unity and equality amongst the fellow member states. In
order to provide this sense of concord the European Union allows free movement of citizens apart
of the union. The access to all members states solidifies a bond of the union but this free
movement also allows for negative issues to arise. Due to the free movement amongst the EU
many people are easily trafficked throughout the countries. The concept of this free movement is
great for the people, but also many people are suffering from a violation of their human rights. The
EU aims to continue to support free movement of their people, but they must focus on ways to
prevent human trafficking from occurring throughout the member states. Free movement of EU
citizens was a major priority to pursue with the start of this union. The idea of identifying a status
for individuals benefiting from the process of European integration and its correlative label of
citizen of the Community or of the Union goes back to the early 1970s (Condinanzi, Lang,
Nascimbene, 1). The Paris Summit was the initiation of the idea of unifying individuals to be
labeled as citizens of the Union. Later, in 1992 the idea was finally put into effect with the
Maastricht Treaty. This treaty help to progress the integration of Europeans and led to the formal
recognition of the notion of European citizenship. Obtaining citizenship in the EU is based on the
national standard of the member state you reside in. The

Reducing HIV Stigma In Baton Rouge
For the people of Baton Rouge, please observe this appalling epidemic that has been happening in
Baton Rouge for decades. Baton Rouge has been on the top of the list for having one of the
highest prevalence of HIV and AIDS in a metropolitan area for the past decade, and we need to get
to the bottom of this issue (Reif et al. 4). Some of the possible solutions to this issue include:
implementing mandatory comprehensive sex education across Louisiana, reducing HIVstigma, and
assisting areas of Baton Rouge that are in concentrated poverty. The presence of HIV has been
growing exponentially in the city of Baton Rouge, and this is how to solve the problem.
First, one of the main reasons why Baton Rouge has one of the highest prevalence of HIV ... Show

First, we need to raise awareness of the prevalence of HIV in Baton Rouge by posting flyers
saying how the capital has one of the highest prevalence of HIV in the country and that HIV is
no longer a death sentence with modern medicine available. Also, list a plethora of clinics and
free HIV testing centers on the flyers if people are interested in getting tested. We also need to
create efficient and committed HIV advocacy organizations and advertise them around Baton
Rouge for those with HIV who are seeking help. Even so, a study in Canada constructed a trial
run consisting of using HIV positive peer counselors administering seven 2 hour counseling
sessions to small groups of gay and bisexual men. The goal of these sessions was to help reduce
the prevalence of HIV transmission and high risk sexual behaviors through implementing
motivational interviewing, behavioral skills, and information about HIV (Hart et al. 1). When the
trial run was finished, there were some impressive results. No doubt, there was a significant
reduction in a number of men participating in sex without a condom with all status partners by 30
percent. Also, there was a significant reduction in loneliness, sexual compulsivity, and fear of being
sexually rejected for insisting on condom use, by which these factors heavily contribute to sexually
high risk behaviors (Hart et al. 11).

So they followed the noise, and as they did, they got terrified, and they started to tremble. So
they stopped and sat in some old scourge dirty chairs that were thrown on the ground so they can
calm down from the haunt that was happening, as they were sitting down they can smell an
earthy, metallic smell all over. Cesar what is that behind you it looks strange, questioned Diego

Language Acquisition Of Language Development Essay
Language is perceived as the way humans communicate through the use of spoken words, it
involves particular system and styles in which we interact with one another (Oxford 2009).
Children s acquisition of language has long been considered one of the uniquely defining
characteristics of human behaviour. Even today, it is widely thought that children acquire their
native language from the imitation of their parents, caregivers or the people in their daily
environment. In this essay I will go through what the typical stages of language acquisition in
children are, I will explain and show examples of cognitive disabilities and other difficulties in
acquiring language, show the theories that explore how language is acquired and see if these
theories account for children who are not cognitively impaired but who still do not acquire language.
In nearly all cases, children s language development follows a predictable sequence. For
example, at 6 8 months babbling occurs, 9 18 months a child is at a one word stage or
holophrastic stage, 18 24 months a two word stage and by 24 30 months they are at a
telegraphic stage where they can form sentence. This is the case with most children however
some children experience some difficulties in acquiring language. If a child has not spoken by
the time they are 2years of age, it is advised that they be brought to a doctor to be assessed. The
most common reason for late or deteriorating speech is a hearing problem. If this is not the

Evolutionary History of a Tiger
I.Introduction
Phylogeography is a field of study that implements biogeography and genetics to understand the
geographic distribution of a species. It is concerned with historical principles and processes that
influence evolution and speciation. The tiger is an evolutionary wonder; it is a prime example of
the responsiveness that some species have to changing climatic conditions. The tiger once had the
largest geographic distribution of all cat species; subspecies adaptations allowed them to live in a
large range of habitats throughout the Asian continent making it a perfect candidate for the study of
phylogeography. This review will examine the evolutionary history of the tiger and will explain
how the species was affected by climatic fluctuations and biogeographic processes during the
Plestocene epoch.
II.Distribution
a.Current Distribution
Today, contiguous distributions can be found throughout southern Asia, far east Russia, and the
Sunda islands of Sumatra, and Java (figure 1). It is widely agreed that the evolutionary history and
distribution of tigers and other fauna endemic to Asia is largely dominated by glacial cycles during
the late Pleistocene epoch. An examination of environmental conditions during the late Pleistocene
would assist in explaining the current distribution and the central point of origin of the species

Winter Pest Control Tips
Homeowner s often ask if continued pest control during the winter is even necessary. The answer is
yes, it is wise to continue pest control throughout the colder winter season, especially in the warmer
climates. During the winter months, insects and rodents want to find warmth and shelter, and this
often means your warm home. While many pests will go dormant during the winter months, others
will seek shelter or migrate south to warmer climates. This is the reason you may see more ants,

Essay about Transformation of Homewood West Community
Homewood West is located on the eastern side of Pittsburgh and is one of the three neighborhoods
that make up the Homewood community, along with Homewood North and Homewood South.
Homewood West was once a thriving neighborhood with an abundance of upper class families and
an economy that depended heavily on the city s railroad system, that made economic opportunities
readily available and housing that was affordable and convenient (Allegheny County DHS 2010).
African Americans were the first to inhabit Homewood, However many whites moved into the
neighborhood, causing tension within the community, during a time period where racism was still
a major factor in society. According to the Allegheny DHS (2010), by 1910, Homewood s

Now, Homewood West has a total population of 818 people, which has steadily declined since the
1950 s (U.S. Census 2010). This transformation has had some major effects on this neighborhood,
making economic opportunities hard to find. A lack of quality education, and high crimerates have
caused businesses to leave the area, creating vacant buildings and broken down homes, lowering
the value of properties and the hopes of bringing businesses back to the community. Residents in
Homewood are affected by all these things and have the community at a standstill, looking for ways
to fix them.
Demographics and Crime
My first perception of Homewood made me a little nervous about the idea of going into a
neighborhood with such a high crime rate, especially being a kid from a suburban area with
mostly white middle class families. Going into a neighborhood that was 95.6 percent black was
definitely out of my comfort zone (U.S. Census 2010). My perception of Homewood quickly
changed however, once I started to talk to people there. To my surprise, many were well educated
and very welcoming, and ambitious people, striving to make the community better. Many of them
noted the issues in the neighborhood, and stated that they had a lot of work to do but they made me
leave Homewood West with hope.
As I started my journey into Homewood, I made my way down Franktown Avenue past the

Public And Private Financial Incentives
Summary: Public and private financial incentives are aligned as never before to encourage
physicians to adopt electronic health records. To aid in the transition, the government has also put
billions into training health information technology workers and establishing regional extension
centers to provide technical and other advice. Even so, progress is slow and obstacles remain.
Chief among those obstacles may be the investment of time required to transition to an electronic
system. By Brian Schilling In 2009 as part of the Health Information Technology for Economic and
Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, the federal government set aside $27 billion for an incentive
program that encourages hospitals and providers to adopt electronic health... Show more content on

The Rewards of EHR Adoption For physicians willing to adopt EHRs, the financial incentives
offered by the federal government are substantial. The average physician with at least 30 percent
of his or her patients covered by Medicare is eligible for up to $44,000 in total incentives. A
physician with at least 30 percent of his or her patients covered by Medicaid is eligible for even
more, up to $63,750. To earn any of that money though, physicians must do more than simply
purchase an EHR system; they are required to show that they have achieved meaningful use of
that system in terms of improving quality. At a minimum, that will mean having systems capable
of e prescribing, reporting quality data, and exchanging data among providers. As of May 19th,
320 health care providers (including 283 physicians and 37 hospitals) have received a total of
$75 million in Medicare incentive payments for demonstrating meaningful use of electronic health
records. The relatively slow start was perhaps to be expected to qualify for this first round of
incentives, practices were required to not only meet certain EHR requirements, but also sign up for
the payments within the first two weeks they were available. Many practices simply weren t that
far in the process. More telling for the future of HIT may be the number of physicians and hospitals

Hawkeye was a white man who lived with Uncas and Chingachgook. Hawkeye learned a lot of
things about the tribe through Chingachgook. The Native Americans, French, and French tribes
had to follow the laws of the five nations. Hawkeye shows heroic bravery when he wore a
disguise and sneaked into the Huron s side of the camp. The Mohicans didn t like the Hurons,
which was the tribe that Magua went to when they realized that he betrayed them. Unfortunately.
Magua was looking for Hawkeye because he wanted to kill him, but Unca didn t want to tell him

treacherous schemes to surprise the Delaware s, and, by gaining possession of their camp, to

peace and happiness of their dead countrymen, imperiously required them speedily to immolate

Abjection By Maria Irene Fornes
Through her dramas, Maria Irene Fornes investigates issues that concern female struggle in the
male dominated society. In her play, Fornes discuss the female suffering to achieve identity

longing for enlightment of their passions, or who mare political or philosophical observation

identity and challenge the domination of men over their destinies. Mala Renganathan argues that
Fornes metaphor in her plays is women s psyche seen as a dual component of victim / tyrant or the
oppressed / oppressor as within herself (40).
In her theory of abjection Kristeva argues that to each ego its object , and to each superego its

While Fefu identifies herself with male view of women, Julia sees her sexuality as a source of

Hydroelectric Power
Electricity is used everywhere in our lives. Electricity give life to our homes, our television sets,
our computers, and other electronic devices. Electricity also is used for charge our batteries, the
batteries that keeps our cars running, our control remotes working, our laptops, our flashlights to
keep shinning in dark, and even cell phones. Electricity is the energy that can produce sound, light,
heat and many more. Many devices and artifacts we use every day, not only in our homes even in
the industries, depends on electricity. But, how we get the production of electricity? Well,

As we all know, every construction has his advantages and disadvantages. This is why there are
multiples version of many constructions, because they want to find the one with less
disadvantages and more advantages. And this case, hydropower has many advantages that we
benefit a lot of it, while also has disadvantages. One of the advantages that hydropower has is
that it doesn t pollute the air like power plants that burn fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas.
Which means that it does not produce carbon dioxide and a construction like this does not create
carbon monoxide fumes, nuclear waste or other environmental hazard materials. Another
advantage of a hydropower is that is available as needed, because engineers can control the flow
of water through the turbines to produce electricity depending upon the demand. Other of the
advantages is that hydropower use water, one of the Earth s most abundant resources, and it s
fully renewable. The rivers, streams, and lakes that hydroelectric power sources use to generate
power are always flowing and moving about on their own, and the turbine simply pass the power
and sends it out to the needed areas. One of the disadvantages is that large reservoirs required for
the operation of hydroelectric power stations result in submersion of extensive areas of upstream,
which cause destructive biological rich and productive lowland. Another disadvantage is that when
changes in the amount of river flow correlate

The Story Of An Hour And A Pair Of Silk Stockings By Kate...
Chopin Expresses Feminine Repression Authors often have their own literary repertoire, or
style, to appeal to the audience in which they are writing to. Kate Chopin is a well known writer,
known for her works that mainly focus around women and their expected roles in society.
Chopin s writings are often based on the effect that the turn of the century had on women, which
she best expresses in her two short stories The Story of an Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings . In
both of the stories previously stated, the author gives the audience just enough background on
the main characters, both female, and their trapped everyday life; so that throughout each story,
the reader can connect and better understand the author s purpose. By using literary elements,
Kate Chopin does an outstanding job of relating to the audience with the realism of feminism.
Kate Chopin uses elements such as setting, tone, and irony in her short stories The Story of an
Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings to express her ideas concerning societal expectations of women
in the 1800 s. Writers use many literary elements to help connect to their stories; Kate Chopin
does an excellent job of doing so by using tone. Webster s Dictionary defines tone as a general
character or attitude or situational piece of writing . In Chopin s A Story of an Hour , she uses a
dramatic death to set a depressing tone. The anxiety and overwhelming wave of feelings that comes
over the audience when reading about

Bmc Recovery
Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to test the correlation of heart recovery rates post
exercise in both athletes and non athletes and determine which group had the faster recovery rate.
This was accomplished by selecting six non athletes and six athletes to run one lap around the
Fresno Pacific track for two days. Each participant s resting heartrate was taken before running the
lap and instantly after running the lap as well. Upon completion of the lap their heart ratewas
measured in thirty second intervals and it was noted how long it took to get back down to each
initial resting heart rate again. Due to the athletes training it was hypothesized that they would have
the faster recovery rate because they d be more conditioned... Show more content on

The subjects were given a survey on their health as to avoid injured or asthmatic variables. Also
they were all required to be in the healthy BMI range and the athletes were from one sport and
the non athletes had a strict definition of exercise as less than twice a week. However, a few
errors could have slipped through. For example when recording the participants heart rate. The
pulse was sometimes hard to locate requiring more time to look for it after their lap run and
perhaps lose data in the process. Another possible error that could have occurred was taking the
recovery times. The majority of the participant trials were done by one project partner making it
difficult to monitor the thirty second intervals while measuring and recording the heart rates as
well. In future studies these errors may be avoided by requiring all the researchers be present for
the experiment in order to secure more definitive results. Another issue that occurred was the
participants failing to show up, more so in the athlete group, which left a hole in hour
experimental data because we were unable to reach the intended six athlete total due to this issue.
Future researchers should attempt to have all the athlete and non athlete participants together at
one time for each day. This would avoid having to come back day by day and remember who did

Wealthy kids usually do better in school than poor kids .
Australians likes to think of themselves as an egalitarian society in which everyone has a fair go .
This idea has led to the creation of an equal education system but today, the reality is far from this
egalitarian system. Only 17% of Australians from low socioeconomic backgrounds are able to

By exploring the social inclusion and exclusion created by the notion of money, this PIP utilises the
cross cultural comparison of high and low socioeconomic households to investigate the question,
How does Socioeconomic Status affect Academic Success? Additionally, this PIP also examines
the continuity and change of society s perception of academic success as a critical component of
the social and cultural literacy process.
Secondary sources such as academic journals and news articles provided macro perspectives
which formed the basis of my primary research. My primary research consisted of a questionnaire
revealing significant quantitative data regarding the correlation between socioeconomic status and
academic success from different social and generational perspectives. A focus group provided a
diverse range of personal perspectives and beliefs, focusing on the stereotypes of different social
classes and its correlation with academic success. Additionally, the qualitative data also illustrates
society s changing perception on academic success.
A content analysis on Struggle Street provided personal insight into the struggles and prejudice of
individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds, allowing me to empathise with their
perspectives. Conclusively, structured interviews conducted via email with Professor Geoff
Williams, provided a more legitimised perspective that adds to the textual integrity and validity to
the PIP.

Initiation Rites Of Womanhood Analysis
The Initiation Rites of Womanhood: An Analysis of the Connection of the Sande Costumes of
Sierra Leone and Human Communication This communications study will definer the important
ritual of the initiation rites of womanhood in the symbolic use of costumes as form of human
communication in Sierra Leone. The Sande female society in Liberia, Sierra Leone has a long
standing tradition of using the Bundu Mask and hair covered costume as a way for older women to
welcome girls into womanhood after their three month seclusion in the forest. In this manner, the
costume serves as a symbolic welcoming gesture to young women that are entering into
womanhood by the elder women of the community: On this occasion, the masks are worn by
women with some rank in society to welcome the younger women at the end of their three month
seclusion in the forest. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In modern times, the Sande costume is still used in the fertility/coming of age ritual, yet women in
Sierra Leone are extremely aware of the ancient form of communication that it represents in the 21st
century: The traditional costume is indeed worn in the bush, but the girls return to ordinary life
dressed in the most up to date Creole fashions (Little 56). In this way, the girls and the older women
partake in wearing the costumes, which represent an ancient confirmation of womanhood within
the context of modern 21st century culture. The Sande female society utilizes the symbolic
costumes of fertility and womanhood as way to communicate an acknowledge identity in the
community. This is an important aspect of how women communicate with each other in these
intensively ritualistic aspects of the coming of age traditions in Sierra Leone. These are important
modes of human communication involving the Sande coming of age costumes for females in Sierra

There are two main reasons for air travel leisure and business. Leisure travel is seen to be price
elastic as demand increases when prices drop vice versa. On the other hand business travel is

Bargaining power of buyers can reduce profitability by lower prices such as Tesco, Walmart.
Kippenberger (1998) states that it is often useful to distinguish potential buyer power from the
buyer s willingness or incentive to use that power. This force is relatively high when there are few
large players in the market and is present when there is a large number of undifferentiated, small
suppliers such as small farming businesses supplying large grocery companies. There is a low

Economic Variables For Fedex
Expanding globally is a major decision that requires a lot of a company. Before deciding to expand
into a global market, the management team should first ensure that the company is ready for the
move. It is very important that the company has the financial managers to identify and review the
economic variables that are associated with the targeted company. Economic variables are used by
many analyses to help identify the health and strength of a selected country s economy. In this
assignment, I will discuss the important economic variables that financial managers of FedEx
Corporation need to identify before expanding in Canada. The economic variables that I will be
discussing are inflationrate, interest rate, consumer price index (CPI), unemployment rate, and
exchange rate. The first economic indicator that I will be discuss is the inflation rate. The rate
that price of products and services steadily increases is the inflation rate. The reason that the
financial managers of FedEx should be aware of the inflation rate of Canada is the fact that
higher inflation rates has an impact on the buying power of the consumers. As the prices of
products are increased due to inflation, consumers may become more reluctant to spend their
money. Also, the company may become victim of the inflation rate directly. FedEx may see an
increase in expenses if they company decides to purchase products locally and in utility bills. The
second economic variable that I will be discuss is the

Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) the end of the tax heavens and the Banking
Secrecy, International cooperation or coercion?
The offshore tax evasion is a problem that most countries face mainly because there are many
structures that help sophisticated investors to avoid the payment of those taxes. After the 2008
global financial crisis, the United States was going through one of the most severe recession, the tax
evasion crisis and the growing budget deficit was at it highest point, in 2009 President Obama
stated during an interview I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of, you know, fat cat
bankers on Wall Street, making very clear his position about the bailouts and the general about the
banking industry.
It has been estimated the United States losses approximately $345 billion in tax revenue each
year as a result of offshore tax abuse . One of the biggest scandals of offshore tax evasion was the
UBS, Switzerland s largest bank, in 2009. The Obama s Administration came up with new
approach in order to collect more revenue and try to tackle down the excessive offshore tax
evasion problems, so in March of 2010 as a part of the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment

Jacobs was born in North Carolina in the early 1800s. Jacobs never realized she was a slave until
her mother died when she was six. Jacobs then moved in with her grandmother and her white

Effects Of Stress On The Body
Memory performance can often be hijacked by a given load of stress on the body. Stress is both a
versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and
the body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon
have been studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern
disturbances, mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive
function. This review will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode,
store, and retain memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body
enters a state of emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress
response. Involuntarily, the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline,
norepinephrine, and cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series
of physiological responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood
vessels, relaxed bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due
to pupil dilation. This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain
or injury by shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed
to respond to the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and

This invention caused the sports broadcasting industry to explode, because in May of 1939
Princeton and Columbia s baseball teams participated in the first nationally televised sporting
event. From that point on sports were changed forever, opening the doors for professional sports
teams to capitalize on the potential revenue that the broadcasting rights of their games could
generate. Now that this business was booming, the only issue was that it had no regulation
outside of The Sherman Act. The Sherman Act is a piece of legislation that prevents
monopolies from forming and it helps competition continue to thrive and be present in all
markets. So this lack of regulation caused fans to be very limited in terms of what teams they
could watch play. In most cases, fans were only able to watch their home team, which left few
options for the fans, left little room for universal growth for the NFL, and most importantly was
breaking the antitrust laws. This issue of breaking antitrust laws is the most prominent legal
issue involved in broadcasting rights, and it had to be resolved in order to keep the professional
leagues from collapsing. Well, this issue came to a head in two court cases that will be discussed
in the case law portion of this piece. The result of these cases brought about the birth of the Sports

Negative Essay On Gentrification
Imagine the home you lived in for decades, being knocked down for a football stadium, shopping
center, or new housing. That is gentrification. Webster s dictionary defines gentrification as the
process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle class taste (
Gentrification ). Gentrification is not a new subject, as it has been occurring for centuries, dating
back to medieval times, constructing forts over villages. Today, gentrification typically occurs in
urban settings where buildings are vacant, and most of the residents live in poverty. Gentrification
can destroy families, communities, and history. This topic is often at the center of debate for
politics and town gossip, as developers are disrupting the current residents that reside in the
vicinity. Gentrification occurs all around us, having pros and cons for each project. How is it
ethical to kick individuals out of their home, and community for another s benefit? Questions arise
as the development and takeover of land often displaces individuals, their entire families, and
livelihood. Temple University is a prime example of gentrification as well as other wealthy
organizations, including football teams from the National Football League. The practice of
gentrification comes to symbolize the new development and demolition of individual s lives while
trying to benefit the parties involved.
Gentrification is the process by which working class residential neighborhoods are

Continuum Of Care Essay
Drug and Alcohol Treatment in America has been based on the Medical Model of Treatment.
According to Wikipedia, the medical model of addiction is rooted in the philosophy that addiction
is a disease and has biological, neurological, genetic, and environmental sources of origin.
Treatment includes potential detox with a 28 day or more stay at a residential treatment facility.
The continuum of care can include an additional 28 days at the partial hospitalization level,
followed by another 6 weeks of Intensive Outpatient.
With the introduction of Obamacare the insurance companies have begun to pay less and less for
the revolving door of treatment services. With the average length of stay in a residential treatment
center around 28 days and the bills ranging from $12,000 to $70,000, insurance companies have
cut the amount that they are willing to pay for addiction services. Some insurance companies will
pay for the least restrictive level of care first, even if a clinical professional requests a higher level
of care.
This leaves the client and their family in a sticky situation. They can pay cash out of pocket for the
treatment, wait for a mental health diagnosis so that the insurance companies will pay, or look for
an alternative form of treatment that might be more effective an affordable. Sometimes the
insurance company actually will refuse to pay any more benefits for the client for the year since he
or she has been in and out of treatment centers so many times that

The Presidential Race Rages On By Donald Trump
As the presidential race rages on, Donald Trump has lashed out against a fellow republican
candidate who was seemingly slated early on as a potential vice president running mate. Instead,
Trump has turned the table on Cruz by running a 30 second commercial ad portraying candidate
Ted Cruz campaign of wrongful practices in his candidacy sweetheart funding, amnesty for illegal
immigrants, and falsely accused the Cruz campaign of starting rumors of Ben Carson suspending
his bid for the White House. With the political race coming to end, candidates will do everything it
takes to gain every vote possible, even if it means destroying another candidate s appearance.
Donald Trumphas done so with his accusations against presidential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz.
Trumps commercial, What Kind of Man, explains how Ted Cruz has not been truthful in his
actions during his campaign and how Cruz can t be trusTed. Donald Trump states that Cruz had
taken more than a million dollars from Wall Street banks in what people call sweetheart loans
and never disclosed them. A sweetheart loan is a loan with term the normal person seeking a loan
would not get. He was able to achieve this because his wife, Heidi Cruz, was the managing
director there at that time. In Cruz s 2012 Senate campaign, Ted Cruz unsuccessfully disclosed his
loan given to him by the company that his wife works for, Goldman Sachs(Mcintire). That same
year Cruz also forgot to disclose loan given to him by Citibank

The Paradox Of Change In Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine
The Paradox of Change
Change is a force which is ever present in the universe, and an individual is never free from its
effects; change will continuously mold the individual by challenging its perception of its
surroundings and itself. In many ways, change causes development and maturity, yet it also
causes decline and decay. Change is constant. However, the paradox of change is often difficult to
accept, and people will fight with its reality throughout their lifetimes: friends will come and go,
epiphanies and advances will arrive, and things will never quite be like they used to be. The
struggle between change and the individual is a recurring part of Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine.
This relationship shows not only through the main character, Doug Spaulding, but also through
those around him. Doug and the rest of Green Town show how people contend with changes in that
which they know, those whom they know, and even themselves.
Many of Doug s favorite parts of Green Town become altered in some way during the summer of
1928. No more trolley. Bus starts to run tomorrow. Going to retire me with a pension, they are
(Bradbury 98). After Mr. Tridden tells them that the trolley is shutting down, Doug protests by
pointing out that a bus doesn t have the charm of the trolley. Later on, a woman thwarts an
attempted murder by the town s serial killer, The Lonely One . As Doug, Tom, and Charlie reflect
upon seeing the paramedics take Lonely One in on a stretcher, they lament the fact that there will
be no more killings to create excitement around town. Charlie rants to Tom, This town used to have
some good stuff in it up until about twelve o clock last night. From here on, we re vanilla junket
(Bradbury 178). They even try to convince themselves that the man on the stretcher wasn t the
Lonely One. Regardless of how unpleasant or cumbersome certain aspects of the town were, the
kids still disliked their altercation, and they struggled with everything beginning and ending around
them.
The people of Green Town repeatedly grappled with very personal changes to those whom they
were familiar with. This contention is very prevalent within Doug when he hears that his friend,
John Huff, is moving away. To delay the

DISCUSSION
The data presented in the study showed trends in antibiotic resistance patterns of methicillin
resistant and methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus in KYAMCH at Enayetpur, Sirajgonj,
teaching and referral hospital of Bangladesh.
Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the major pathogens associated with
community acquired serious nosocomial infection because these strains generally show multiple
drug resistance which limits treatment possibilities (7).
In this study, the isolation rate of MRSA on gender basis revealed more from male (54.5%) than
female (45.5%). Persons younger than 30 years of age were found to be more MRSA carrier
112 (23%) and less found among below 10 years of age 50 (10%) (Figure 2). Our age and gender
based findings did not agree with those findings obtained by other studies where no significant
variations were noticed. (8). Population of this study is villagers of working group (30 years) who
are financially important. Through medical care they became subject of this study. On the
contrary, other studies are carried out in the city where all residents irrespective of gender and age
are equally receiving medical care.
In our study, the highest number of Staphylococcus aureus isolates were from throat swab
samples 104 (49.5%) followed by pus 44 (20.9%) (Figure 5 a). Similar study of Tamilnadu in India
as high as 35.7% of MRSA strains were obtained from throat swabs and 33.6% of strains were

Cough In The Commonplace
Almost every commonplace scenario has a polite phrase that goes alongside it. When someone
sneezes, a scattered symphony of bless you s follows soon afterward. When you receive a gift of
kindness, it is appropriate to respond with a thank you . When accepting another s gratitude, it is
typical to say, You re welcome . But what do you say when someone coughs? By normal people s
standards, the answer to that question is nothing at all. After a person coughs, not a single word is
uttered, leaving an empty silence which desires to be filled with something. A while back in
middle school, it was this palpable feeling of emptiness which drove me to ponder the nature of
this situation. How could there be no phrase to respond to a cough? I

Comparing The Prague Spring And The Polish Solidarity...
Movements like the Prague Spring and the Polish Solidarity movement were rooted in frustration
over economic and social conditions in nations in the socialist bloc. The Prague Spring was ignited
by reforms made by new party chief and President Alexander DubДЌek. DubДЌek s reforms were
intended to address the disconnect between Soviet policy and Czechoslovakian life and to create
new policies to build socialism in a Czechoslovakian context. In his Action Program , DubДЌek s
central concern appears to be with the lack of liberties in society, especially in regards to freedom
of expression. He wanted to introduce complete freedom of speech and the free expression of
political opinions and ensure that they were constitutional guarantees and protected against
influence from state agencies. new freedom of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Solidarity movement also addressed something they called dignity of the person of man and it
related to how current social conditions and actions of the government prevented an individual from
leading a dignified life. While the government could barely meet the basic needs of food, clothing,
and housing at a bare minimum, there were social and cultural needs that were completely ignored
and prevented the public from establishing an identity outside of the state and state ideology. The
Solidarity movement aimed to expand the participation of the working class through total
democracy. The members of the Solidarity movement wanted to eliminate what had become a
feature of socialist society, lack of fulfillment of constitutional guarantees and ensure the protection
of civil liberties. An important feature of the Solidarity movement was a desire for an economic
overhaul with a return to a market based system and freedom for the restrictions of state

Black Americans And African Immigrants
The common bond of slavery is what draws Black Americans together, but is what drives Black
Americans and African immigrants apart. Many African immigrants have only read or heard about
racial discrimination, but have never faced it first hand. They admire what Black Americans have
done, but when they come to this country they and maintain a separate identity from native born
blacks. Because of the separation, whites were more willing to serve Africans and Black Americans
thought African immigrants were receiving better treatment from society (Reddick, 1998). Being
Black in America is already a complicated existence, but being a Black immigrant is a very
different existence. Black Americans often do not know the country their ancestors came from and
feel more American than African or Caribbean. African immigrants are often in an identity complex
because often they are not considered Black enough for the Black community and not being
American enough for the white communities. They are often overlooked when discussing
immigration policies though they are the fastest growing immigration population. Even though
African immigrants are more educated and find success they also struggle to find jobs in their field
due to racial discrimination (Omara, 2017)
Black alumni are enthused to see increasing numbers of Black students at elite schools such as
Harvard and Yale, but raises the question of what type of Black students are getting in (Rimer
Arenson, 2004). African immigrants

  • 14. Language Acquisition Of Language Development Essay Language is perceived as the way humans communicate through the use of spoken words, it involves particular system and styles in which we interact with one another (Oxford 2009). Children s acquisition of language has long been considered one of the uniquely defining characteristics of human behaviour. Even today, it is widely thought that children acquire their native language from the imitation of their parents, caregivers or the people in their daily environment. In this essay I will go through what the typical stages of language acquisition in children are, I will explain and show examples of cognitive disabilities and other difficulties in acquiring language, show the theories that explore how language is acquired and see if these theories account for children who are not cognitively impaired but who still do not acquire language. In nearly all cases, children s language development follows a predictable sequence. For example, at 6 8 months babbling occurs, 9 18 months a child is at a one word stage or holophrastic stage, 18 24 months a two word stage and by 24 30 months they are at a telegraphic stage where they can form sentence. This is the case with most children however some children experience some difficulties in acquiring language. If a child has not spoken by the time they are 2years of age, it is advised that they be brought to a doctor to be assessed. It is concerned with historical principles and processes that influence evolution and speciation. The tiger is an evolutionary wonder; it is a prime example of the responsiveness that some species have to changing climatic conditions. The tiger once had the largest geographic distribution of all cat species; subspecies adaptations allowed them to live in a large range of habitats throughout the Asian continent making it a perfect candidate for the study of phylogeography. This review will examine the evolutionary history of the tiger and will explain how the species was affected by climatic fluctuations and biogeographic processes during the Plestocene epoch. II.Distribution a.Current Distribution Today, contiguous distributions can be found throughout southern Asia, far east Russia, and the Sunda islands of Sumatra, and Java (figure 1). It is widely agreed that the evolutionary history and distribution of tigers and other fauna endemic to Asia is largely dominated by glacial cycles during the late Pleistocene epoch. • 26. The Story Of An Hour And A Pair Of Silk Stockings By Kate... Chopin Expresses Feminine Repression Authors often have their own literary repertoire, or style, to appeal to the audience in which they are writing to. Kate Chopin is a well known writer, known for her works that mainly focus around women and their expected roles in society. Chopin s writings are often based on the effect that the turn of the century had on women, which she best expresses in her two short stories The Story of an Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings . In both of the stories previously stated, the author gives the audience just enough background on the main characters, both female, and their trapped everyday life; so that throughout each story, the reader can connect and better understand the author s purpose. By using literary elements, Kate Chopin does an outstanding job of relating to the audience with the realism of feminism. Kate Chopin uses elements such as setting, tone, and irony in her short stories The Story of an Hour and A Pair of Silk Stockings to express her ideas concerning societal expectations of women in the 1800 s. Writers use many literary elements to help connect to their stories; Kate Chopin does an excellent job of doing so by using tone. Each participant s resting heartrate was taken before running the lap and instantly after running the lap as well. Another possible error that could have occurred was taking the recovery times. The majority of the participant trials were done by one project partner making it difficult to monitor the thirty second intervals while measuring and recording the heart rates as well. In future studies these errors may be avoided by requiring all the researchers be present for the experiment in order to secure more definitive results. Another issue that occurred was the participants failing to show up, more so in the athlete group, which left a hole in hour experimental data because we were unable to reach the intended six athlete total due to this issue. Stress is both a versatile agent that disrupts the human body s normal mental, physical, and emotional state, and the body s natural reaction to change (Staal, 2004). The effects of this amorphous phenomenon have been studied from a number of angles including but not limited to stress related sleep pattern disturbances, mood swings, attention spans, weight gain, long term illnesses, and cognitive function. This review will focus on the effects of psychological stress on people s ability to encode, store, and retain memories. When the human body is presented with a stressful situation, the body enters a state of emergency called the fight or flight response, also known as the acute stress response. Involuntarily, the body s sympathetic nervous system is aroused and releases adrenaline, norepinephrine, and cortisol from the adrenal glands of the brain. These hormones trigger a series of physiological responses facilitating acceleration in heart rate and breathing, constriction of blood vessels, relaxed bladder, inhibition of metabolic digestion, tightened muscles, and sharper vision due to pupil dilation. This is a result of the human body instinctively protecting itself from threat of pain or injury by shutting down all of the nonessential systems, and supplying the bodily systems needed to respond to the emergency with its necessary components, like sufficient amounts of oxygen and ... Instead, Trump has turned the table on Cruz by running a 30 second commercial ad portraying candidate Ted Cruz campaign of wrongful practices in his candidacy sweetheart funding, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and falsely accused the Cruz campaign of starting rumors of Ben Carson suspending his bid for the White House. With the political race coming to end, candidates will do everything it takes to gain every vote possible, even if it means destroying another candidate s appearance. Donald Trumphas done so with his accusations against presidential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz. Trumps commercial, What Kind of Man, explains how Ted Cruz has not been truthful in his actions during his campaign and how Cruz can t be trusTed. Donald Trump states that Cruz had taken more than a million dollars from Wall Street banks in what people call sweetheart loans and never disclosed them. A sweetheart loan is a loan with term the normal person seeking a loan would not get. He was able to achieve this because his wife, Heidi Cruz, was the managing director there at that time. In Cruz s 2012 Senate campaign, Ted Cruz unsuccessfully disclosed his loan given to him by the company that his wife works for, Goldman Sachs(Mcintire). That same year Cruz also forgot to disclose loan given to him by Citibank ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Paradox Of Change In Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine The Paradox of Change Change is a force which is ever present in the universe, and an individual is never free from its effects; change will continuously mold the individual by challenging its perception of its surroundings and itself. In many ways, change causes development and maturity, yet it also causes decline and decay. Change is constant. However, the paradox of change is often difficult to accept, and people will fight with its reality throughout their lifetimes: friends will come and go, epiphanies and advances will arrive, and things will never quite be like they used to be. The struggle between change and the individual is a recurring part of Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine. This relationship shows not only through the main character, Doug Spaulding, but also through those around him. Doug and the rest of Green Town show how people contend with changes in that which they know, those whom they know, and even themselves. Many of Doug s favorite parts of Green Town become altered in some way during the summer of 1928. No more trolley. Bus starts to run tomorrow. Going to retire me with a pension, they are (Bradbury 98). After Mr. Tridden tells them that the trolley is shutting down, Doug protests by pointing out that a bus doesn t have the charm of the trolley. Later on, a woman thwarts an attempted murder by the town s serial killer, The Lonely One . As Doug, Tom, and Charlie reflect upon seeing the paramedics take Lonely One in on a stretcher, they lament the fact that there will be no more killings to create excitement around town. Charlie rants to Tom, This town used to have some good stuff in it up until about twelve o clock last night. From here on, we re vanilla junket (Bradbury 178). They even try to convince themselves that the man on the stretcher wasn t the Lonely One. Regardless of how unpleasant or cumbersome certain aspects of the town were, the kids still disliked their altercation, and they struggled with everything beginning and ending around them. The people of Green Town repeatedly grappled with very personal changes to those whom they were familiar with. This contention is very prevalent within Doug when he hears that his friend, John Huff, is moving away. To delay the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

DISCUSSION The data presented in the study showed trends in antibiotic resistance patterns of methicillin resistant and methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus in KYAMCH at Enayetpur, Sirajgonj, teaching and referral hospital of Bangladesh. Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the major pathogens associated with community acquired serious nosocomial infection because these strains generally show multiple drug resistance which limits treatment possibilities (7). In this study, the isolation rate of MRSA on gender basis revealed more from male (54.5%) than female (45.5%). Persons younger than 30 years of age were found to be more MRSA carrier 112 (23%) and less found among below 10 years of age 50 (10%) (Figure 2). Our age and gender based findings did not agree with those findings obtained by other studies where no significant variations were noticed. (8). • 49. Cough In The Commonplace Almost every commonplace scenario has a polite phrase that goes alongside it. When someone sneezes, a scattered symphony of bless you s follows soon afterward. When you receive a gift of kindness, it is appropriate to respond with a thank you . When accepting another s gratitude, it is typical to say, You re welcome . But what do you say when someone coughs? By normal people s standards, the answer to that question is nothing at all. After a person coughs, not a single word is uttered, leaving an empty silence which desires to be filled with something. A while back in middle school, it was this palpable feeling of emptiness which drove me to ponder the nature of this situation. How could there be no phrase to respond to a cough? I ... • 50. Comparing The Prague Spring And The Polish Solidarity... Movements like the Prague Spring and the Polish Solidarity movement were rooted in frustration over economic and social conditions in nations in the socialist bloc. The Prague Spring was ignited by reforms made by new party chief and President Alexander DubДЌek. DubДЌek s reforms were intended to address the disconnect between Soviet policy and Czechoslovakian life and to create new policies to build socialism in a Czechoslovakian context. In his Action Program , DubДЌek s central concern appears to be with the lack of liberties in society, especially in regards to freedom of expression. He wanted to introduce complete freedom of speech and the free expression of political opinions and ensure that they were constitutional guarantees and protected against influence from state agencies. new freedom of... The Solidarity movement also addressed something they called dignity of the person of man and it related to how current social conditions and actions of the government prevented an individual from leading a dignified life. While the government could barely meet the basic needs of food, clothing, and housing at a bare minimum, there were social and cultural needs that were completely ignored and prevented the public from establishing an identity outside of the state and state ideology. The Solidarity movement aimed to expand the participation of the working class through total democracy. The members of the Solidarity movement wanted to eliminate what had become a feature of socialist society, lack of fulfillment of constitutional guarantees and ensure the protection of civil liberties. An important feature of the Solidarity movement was a desire for an economic overhaul with a return to a market based system and freedom for the restrictions of state ... • 51. Black Americans And African Immigrants The common bond of slavery is what draws Black Americans together, but is what drives Black Americans and African immigrants apart. Many African immigrants have only read or heard about racial discrimination, but have never faced it first hand. They admire what Black Americans have done, but when they come to this country they and maintain a separate identity from native born blacks. Because of the separation, whites were more willing to serve Africans and Black Americans thought African immigrants were receiving better treatment from society (Reddick, 1998). Being Black in America is already a complicated existence, but being a Black immigrant is a very different existence. Black Americans often do not know the country their ancestors came from and feel more American than African or Caribbean. African immigrants are often in an identity complex because often they are not considered Black enough for the Black community and not being American enough for the white communities. They are often overlooked when discussing immigration policies though they are the fastest growing immigration population. Even though African immigrants are more educated and find success they also struggle to find jobs in their field due to racial discrimination (Omara, 2017) Black alumni are enthused to see increasing numbers of Black students at elite schools such as Harvard and Yale, but raises the question of what type of Black students are getting in (Rimer Arenson, 2004).
