How To Write A Essay Conclusion
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write An Essay Conclusion" might seem like a
straightforward task at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of crafting a compelling
conclusion can prove to be more challenging than expected. The conclusion serves as the final
impression on the reader, making it a crucial element in the overall essay structure.
To begin with, one needs to thoroughly understand the purpose of a conclusion. It's not just
about summarizing key points; a well-crafted conclusion should leave a lasting impact, tying
together the various threads of the essay and offering a sense of closure. Achieving this requires
a keen understanding of the essay's main arguments, as well as the ability to synthesize
information effectively.
Crafting an effective conclusion also involves striking the right balance between brevity and
completeness. It should be concise enough to maintain the reader's interest while encapsulating
the essay's main ideas. Avoiding redundancy is another challenge – repeating information
already covered in the body of the essay can diminish the conclusion's impact.
Furthermore, one must consider the tone and style of the conclusion. It should resonate with the
overall tone of the essay, providing a fitting conclusion to the narrative. Achieving this coherence
while still offering a fresh perspective can be a delicate task.
Ultimately, the difficulty lies in the nuanced skill set required to encapsulate the essence of an
entire essay within a few concluding sentences. It demands not only a deep understanding of the
subject matter but also a finesse in language and a keen awareness of the reader's expectations.
In summary, while writing an essay on the topic "How To Write An Essay Conclusion" may seem
straightforward, the actual process involves navigating through the subtleties of synthesis,
conciseness, and stylistic choices. It's an art that requires practice and a thoughtful approach to
leave a lasting impression on the reader.

Social Media Intelligence Paper
Open source intelligence based on social media in the 21st century is a vital
component of the intelligence collection process. As people around the world use
social media more it will become integral to the intelligence collection process. The
advent of social media is significant to Military Intelligence because it provides
access to literally billions of people providing information on events, people, and
locations in real time at a low cost. Social media, Facebook specifically, has
become one of the most successful forms of websites on the Internet. According to
Facebook Company statistics (Info, 2016) there are over 1.65 billion monthly active
users as of March 31, 2016. Additionally there are 1.09 billion daily active users for...

Threat groups know intelligence agencies use social media to collect. Threat
groups could then post incorrect information on social media to guide collection
away from their true intent. As social media is not monitored for quality control, it
will become imperative for intelligence professionals to be able to check the
validity of social media intelligence through other resources. Checking social media
intelligence through other resources will reduce the timeliness of the reporting as
validity is confirmed or denied. In conclusion social media offers billions of
opportunities to collect intelligence daily. Social media allows real time intelligence
collection at low cost. The downside is the validity of the intelligence needs to be
confirmed, and our adversaries can use social media platforms for denial and
deception. Regardless of the negatives social media offers immeasurable
opportunities for intelligence collection in the near and long term if utilized properly
and with an understanding of its
Medical Maligence In Medical Malpractice Case
If you have been arrested for driving under the influence or DUI, then you re going
to need a good lawyer to represent you. A DUI is a serious offense these days and
it s imperative that you hire a lawyer to defend you as soon as possible. However,
not all lawyers are created equal, and since lawyers are people too, (although some
may not think so) there are good lawyers and bad lawyers out there. If you re
searching the Internet for a lawyer, be very careful of sites that claim to be in
connection with a top notch firms. You need to check out this connection very
carefully. Many referral sites will call every lawyer in the yellow pages and
whoever pays them money gets a link on their site without any background check, or
even a phone call.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you feel that something is not right after you had a surgery or you have been
hospitalized, you mush consult a medical malpractice lawyer who is highly
qualified to evaluate your case. If the case is strong enough, the written claims are
sent to the parties that are supposed to be responsible for medical malpractice. It is a
person s right to claim any injustice that caused him any harms (physical or moral)
and receive the compensation he or she needs to repair the harm that has been
Synoptic Approach To The Most Important To Solve A
Problem
I believe that it is important to always find a solution. I believe that there is a
solution for any given problem and have applied this attitude throughout my career.
I try one way, then find another way if that one does not work. I try every possible
solution that I can think of when faced with a problem. I have applied my
philosophy that began with computers to other areas of my life with positive results.
There is always another angle, a perspective change, an intentional act of thinking
around corners, to get to the place in my mind where a solution is found. I learned to
work with computers through experimentation. I grew up in the country without
other kids in walking or biking distance except for my younger brother who would sit
for hours and watch while I sat at the computer. I did not know anyone else who
owned or used a computer. I was on my own when I began my journey into
technology. I spent a great many hours in front of a black and white TV connected
to a Commodore VIC 20 with a user s manual of instructions for how to program in
BASIC.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internet grew after I graduated from high school and the web finally turned into
something useful. I started to look up problems that I encountered and connect
them to known issues that had already been discovered. This synoptic approach
leads me to find solutions based upon work that has already been done by someone
else or groups who were having similar problems. Each solution that I research adds
to my knowledge by revealing the approach that others have taken to solve the same
problem. I synthesize these research experiences and use the methods and alternate
viewpoints to strengthen my own solution finding skills. The availability of
information has allowed me to exponentially increase my understanding of
technology and the way solutions are applied on a global
Land Of Waste In America
The Land of the Waste
Making America great again has never been more of a challenge. We need to make
America green again. ...over the last five decades as states have implemented
requirements and consumers have become more aware, the U.S. is way behind
leading European countries (Lacey). America is one of the largest producers of waste
in the world. With this we should be figuring out new ways in which to recycle and
reuse different compounds and materials to ensure a better future.
America s waste production is one of the highest in the world, with less than 27% of
all its waste produced is actually recycled. The United States has lenient waste and
littering laws, making landfills much fuller than what they would be if the laws were
stricter. America also places little to no reward on recycling; those who recycle more
often than not pay a fee making it more of a hassle. The U.S. is one of the biggest
contributors to waste production in the world, in turn the least green of all
countries. Citizens and government alike in China are taking steps to encourage
recycling; this has also become a profit machine (Norleen). The Chinese have a
system where one is able to turn in recyclables and therefore are paid for waste
collected. China isn t the only country others have also started this system and some
even have integrated tax reductions. In Japan, one is able to pay for a beverage or a

An Individual s Self Perception
An individual s self perception can positively or negatively affect a work
environment. As human tends to feel bias when perceiving themselves, various
individuals often suffer from self enhancement bias or self effacement bias.
Individuals suffering from extremely cases of self enhancement bias or self
effacement bias will lead to a negative work environment as they will feel
dissatisfied or discontent with their job and obligations in a company. Individuals
suffering from extreme self enhancement bias tends to that they are not being
recognized and rewarded for their superior works, which can leads to the false
consensus error. The false consensus error occurs when an employee or worker
assumes that they can commit unethical behaviors like telling a lie or taking credit
for another s work because they genuinely believe that their dishonest actions
frequently transpire in society and in the work place. Meanwhile, individuals
suffering from extreme cases of self effacement bias generally possess low self
confidence and cannot relinquish their feelings of self blame for any major or
minor blunder or failures they have committed. As a result of their low self esteem,
individuals with self effacement bias feels uncomfortable and out of place in their
workplace, leading to deficient work performance and subpar work efforts after a
period of time. However, self enhancement bias and self effacement bias does not
always lead to a negative work environment as it can also help an

What kind of a platform business is the online personals market? What kind of
network effects (direct, cross sided, positive, and negative) does it leverage? How
structurally attractive is it? The online personals market is a specific niche of
social networking, and it is a sole sponsor, proprietary platform business. In terms
of network effects, it could be seen as a one sided network (users can instigate an
interaction, or can have someone else instigate an interaction with them), but is
better described as a two sided market with men on one side, and women on the
other (with the exception of homosexual sites which are clearly one sided markets).
Within this, there are both direct and cross sided network effects. For direct, there are

how many of you own, or know of a friend, who owns a dog? B. Establish your
credibility: Owning a dog is one of my greatest joys and I am sure my fellow dog
owners would agree with me. I ve own 17 dogs throughout my life, 11 different

C. Responsibilities Growing up entails more responsibilities you must deal with.
Which can be immensely challenging, especially if you re someone who isn t

managing expenses can be a hassle. Some examples are taking care of yourself,
working to earn an income, and/or providing for a family.

Rhetorical Devices In The Coquette
Meghan Michalski 19 October 2017
From a scene of constraint and confinement, ill suited to my years and inclination, I
have just launched into society. My heart beats high in expectation of its fancied
joys. My sanguine imagination paints, in alluring colors, the charms of youth and
freedom, regulated by virtue and innocence. Of these, I wish to partake. While I
own myself under obligations for the esteem which you are pleased to profess for
me, and in return, acknowledge, that neither your person nor manners are
disagreeable to me, I recoil at the thought of immediately forming a connection,
which must confine me to the duties of domestic life, and make me dependent for
happiness, perhaps too, for subsistence, upon a class of people, who will claim the
right of scrutinizing every part of my conduct; and by censuring those foibles, which
I am conscious of not having prudence to avoid, may render me completely miserable
(Foster, 29).
Through rhetorical devices, dramatic language, and tone, Foster manipulates the
readers perspectives and opinions of her characters and provides them with the
information to predict Eliza s inevitable demise before she knows it herself.
Eliza Wharton s yearning for freedom is a fundamental underlying theme to Foster s
novel, The Coquette . Eliza views freedom as the ability to partake in the pleasures
and joys of youth without the restrictions and obligations that come with a
commitment to marriage. Furthermore, freedom is the choice to
Summary Of Language By Angela Carter
Language is the most complex form of communication. Throughout time, language
has lost some of its meaning, it is no longer all about the conversation. Language has
become such a powerful instrument used for building relationships between people
and even places. Angela Carter, explains her ideas on the topic. She recognizes
languageas something with substance behind it, not just talking for the purpose of
vocalizing. The weight you put behind what you say gives it the meaning. Carter
proposes that language is the tool that holds all power that gets exerted when
speaking. She believes language gives the people everything they need to exist
individually and with one another. The history of a language ties in with the
culture, the roots of certain words are what make the civilization what it is today.
Carter further points out that language influences control and release, the act of
domination and liberation. Everything considered, what Carter reveals about
language is eye opening. She invites a new perspective on the idea that language is
power. Carter leaves this open to interpretation, but we see how language is
powerful enough to emotionally hurt people. Using it as an instrument of culture,
we are able to open our eyes on the stagnation of progress in making the society we
live in today to be as equal it can be. Carter is clear in helping us recognize language
is used to both create and destroy but fails to include the various forms of language
besides speaking vocally.
A Neglected Anniversary Of The New York Evening Mail
Journalism has held an important role in society since the seventeenth century;
people have depended on journalists to provide new and important information
concerning a wide variety of topics. This dependency has led to a great deal of trust
in journalists and their word and allowed for journalists to publish what they please.
Mencken took advantage of the people s trust when he published the article A
Neglected Anniversary in the New York Evening Mail. Mencken created his own
history of the bathtub and released it to the public in 1917. The manner in which the
article is written completely deceived the readers; many truly believed Mencken s
account was true, and the story was believed for quite some time, even after Mencken
revealed the truth. The developing trust in journalism and a journalist s word during
the early twentieth century created for the instant acceptance and longevity in belief
of Mencken s hoax. As previously stated, the hoax began with the publication of the
article A Neglected Anniversary in 1917, which was reprinted in 1926 in the article
The Bathtub Fable That Caused a Furore; Mencken stated that the bathtub was
considered a health hazard and the use of them was frowned upon until President
Fillmore installed the first bathtub in the White House. The hoax gained nation wide
publicity when newspapers, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, began publishing
Rise of the Bathtub, which was a summary of Mencken s original article. Mencken

Identity In Odd Places
Identity in odd places Identity is the idiosyncrasies, backgrounds, and character traits
that separate people from one another. Self discipline and mental toughness are just
two of the many characteristics I ve had to develop throughout my life success in
school, sports, and life in general rely greatly on these traits. I always hated drivingto
my Grandmas but this one trip tested my abilities greatly. From preparing for,
committing, and carrying out the road trip, I was tested every step of the journey.
Getting prepared for the road trip was almost as painful as the car ride itself. I
considered preparing the car for a trip equivalent to preparing for a ride in an electric
chair. Except instead of preparing for a quick execution, I was... Show more content

I would put in headphones and listen to music or work on homework while I still
had the energy. I would always drink at least one entire Gatorade bottle within ten
minutes of the trip but this time I was extra thirsty and had two regular sized
Gatorades and a water, and like clockwork my mom looked at me disgusted like I
just ate a booger and said, Why did you do that? You are going to have to pee 5
miles down the road! I m not stopping for at least fifty so you ll just have to pee
yourself . After that I didn t pay attention to anything outside the car because for
the first fifty to one hundred miles I saw repetitions of old memories. The boring
scenery and lack of sleep took its toll on me after about an hour where each minute
that passed by was like a punch from Mike Tyson making my sight fade closer to
darkness with each swing. I have never lasted an entire car trip without falling
asleep in the first leg of the trip in my life. Even if I had got plenty of sleep the
night before, the first leg would inevitably knock me out. One thing that I liked,
even though it is also part of the reason I fell asleep, is that during the first hour of
driving I got to see the interesting change in scenery from my suburban town with
huge houses and crystal blue lakes that sparkle as I go by. Then it slowly faded
into one office building and then another and another until a city erupted from the
ground around me and I had seen the city lights and people of all different races,
cultures, and backgrounds go by. As quickly as it started, it faded back away into
the distance behind me and the beautiful lush wooded areas that are so common in
the north unfolded around me until all I could see were giant trees around me and
a road that doesn t seem to end ahead of me. I had been really interested into the
sights and I had loved drawing when I was younger. I had a nice notebook just for
drawing and I really wanted
My First Symphony Research Paper
Music has always been a fundamental part of my life. It sends me on a beautiful
journey, full to bursting with emotions held within. It is here, within my own
thoughts, that I can truly be myself. What music does so masterfully, is its
unyielding capability of captivation and wonder. The listener is made to feel so
many things at once, that it is all too easy to become lost within a euphoric trance.
As one of my greatest passions, I turn to its pleasures time and time again. Whether
it be while writing a work of fiction, jogging onward at the brink of dawn, or
perhaps in the still night before bed. My love for music in its entirety has only
soared as I have grown older and thus, my first symphony experience, is a wonderful
memory I will forever hold dear. For my concert review, my plus one and I chose the

virtuoso KristГіf BarГЎti as our selection. Naturally, they were hosting their 12th

In either case, there is not particularly right way to dress for a performance, but

Syria and Lebanon and Brittan got the territory of Israel, Palestine, Jordan and Iraq.
The United States left the Europeans to deal with the Middle East however they
always protected their interests, such as protecting their oil interests. The U.S spoke
out against the Armenian Genocide and supported Zionism. After WWII American
policies regarding the Middle East dealt with fighting communism, changing the
views that Arabs had of the U.S, and replace them with a pro western views and to

Ben Hur Compare And Contrast

that was okay because it didn t have a big importance. So overall I feel like the new
film had a better story line and was short and sweet very action filled I would give
it a 4 out of 5 stars. Also a difference between the two films was seeing Jesus face. In
the 1995 film you never saw his face not even at the crucifixion. I don t like that in
the new film showing his face and introducing him early along in the show really
made the story so much better you felt more emotion about it. In the 1995 version he
really wasn t around much but in the new one he really showed about forgiveness

Why DonT We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr.
If a person had the option to change the world for the better, would they? If they
would, then why is it when a person gets minor inconvenienced by a small problem
like not having enough chips for the bean dip, they just accept the problem and
they do not do anything about it. William F. Buckley Jr. Wrote an essay called,
Why Don t We Complain . Buckley is giving the readers his experience on both the
lack of care within the political system and also the apathy people give when it
comes to life s minor roadblocks. Society needs to learn that fixing minor problems
when given the chance is better than letting a problem grow so much that it starts
affecting other people. The audience that this essay is directed to will learn the
message of why people should complain, and the purpose the author has to
complain. People will do nothing to fix minor, everyday problems; even if the
problem is as minor as someone invades someone else s personal space. For
example, While Buckley was riding on an airplane, he was inconvenienced by a
flight stewardess that could not take Buckley s empty food tray back to the kitchen
(76). If he would have only been more affirmative with his words, things would have
definitely been different for him. So considering that the author has had experience
with being complacent in the real world, Buckley knows the problem of people
being passive on a personal level. Buckley wants to show the audience that even the
author of the essay can go through the same
Revolutionary Change By Betty Friedan
Change
The definition of revolutionary is Involving or causing a complete or dramatic
change and this is what the American society went through during the years of 1945
1970. Americans experienced rebellion and recovery which led to revolutionary
changes. For example, in 1954 the war in Vietnam began and inspired protests
across the nation, because it was an unpopular war. Americans also faced the threat
of communism and the atomic bomb which made Americans anxious. The process
of recovery took a long time for many Americans, they had been through years of
war and with a new war in the horizon the peace would have to wait once again (

At the beginning, Tom Wolfe s curiosity and interest for the space program
promotes him to write the book about the test pilots, astronauts, and the United State
space program. In this book, Wolfe is trying to send the unique message to the
reader, which is that the career of the test pilots and astronauts are determined by
their possession of the right stuff . Moreover, he also uses massive logical evidence
with persuasive sources to prove his opinions. Besides, on the background of the
space race between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War
period, seven American astronauts risk their lives by going into space. After they
made unbelievable achievements and contributions in the space for their country, the
citizens regarded them as the American heroes in single combat against the powerful

Stereotypes In Skyscraper
Have you thought about songs that represent you? Songs can explain everything
you are going through, you just have to listen or read the lyrics. The song
Skyscraper by Demi Lovato represents me because of how no one can tear me down,
I have been hurt for so long I have learned how to ignore the pain most days. Next,
the lyrics from Adam s Songby Blink 182 relates to me because I have hit rock
bottom and decided that I thought suicide was the answer but I changed my mind
soon after those thoughts. Then the lyrics from Hall of Fame by The Script
showed me that I can do whatever my heart desires and that I should not listen to
the people trying to drag me down. That is to say, If Everyone Cared by Nickelback

You may not realize what was said was hurtful to that individual, but to that

and that 110% still sticks with me. Every time I look into a mirror I replay that

your words cut deep.../ I will not take this anymore/ These words will not be

Ree In The Ozarks
Ree has also developed confidence as a survival attribute. Watching the turn of
events, it is apparent that the entire Ozarks are full of meth cooks. This is clearly
illustrated by the fact that she is attacked on her attempt to seek the intervention of
the local crime officer; everyone lives in constant fear of betrayal. However, the
young lady is confident enough and doesn t fear explaining her case to people she
believes can be of help (Paludi, 2011). Having been once bitten by the Milton

find her father. She has the courage to face the women for the second time, even

All in all, I liked the movie for a number of reasons. For instance, the movie clearly
brings out the plight of young children who are burdened with parental
responsibilities at a very tender age. While the case in the movie is as a result of
crime and medical incapacitation, there are so many other vices in society that
have turned young children into parents even before they internalize the true
definition of who a parent is. Vices such as civil wars, the HIV/AIDS menace and
even sporadic wars between warring nations have left so many young children with
the responsibility of bringing up their siblings. Ree is thus portrayed as an example
to be emulated by all other children of her age who unfortunately finds themselves in
similar circumstances (Paludi, 2011). Rather than sit around crying the whole day, it
s always advisable to pick up the left pieces and move on with life since at times,
those you expect to offer a helping hand might turn out to scorn you

An adult female was arrested the 4200 block of Auburn Way North for DUI.%
The following occurred in the City of Auburn, King County, WA:
On February 9, 2016, at approximately 2220 hours I was travelling north in the
2100 block of Auburn Way North, when I noticed a vehicle, turn northbound onto
Auburn Way North from 22ND ST NE. As the vehicle turned northbound (left) it
took a wide slow turn. The vehicle speed up quickly as I was attempting to close the

bloodshot and glassy. I asked McGuire for her registration, license, and insurance.
When McGuire was retrieving her license used the pads of her fingers to get the
license out. As McGuire spoke I noticed her speech was slow and slurred. McGuire
provided the requested documentation. McGuire repeatedly told me she had been
crying.
I returned to McGuire s vehicle and asked her to step from the vehicle, she complied.
Once outside the vehicle I noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from
McGuire s person. I asked McGuire how much she had to drink tonight, and she
said, a couple. I asked McGuire how much was a couple and she said earlier they
were at the Casino. McGuire said she was coming from the Casino.
I asked McGuire if she was willing to do some voluntary field sobriety tests to make

The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. During this test I had to tell

Antigone
Antigone The Characterization
Sophocles tragic drama, Antigone, presents to the reader a full range of characters:
static and dynamic, flat and round; they are portrayed mostly through the showing
technique.
In Sophocles Praise of Man and the Conflicts of the Antigone, Charles Paul Segal
takes the stand that there are two protagonists in the drama (which conflicts with this
reader s interpretation):
This is not to say that there are not conceptual issues involved in the characters of
Creon and Antigone. But the issues are too complex to be satisfactorily reduced to a
single antithetical formulation. We must avoid seeing the protagonists as one
dimensional representatives of simple oppositions: ... Show more content on

And when, after a long while, this storm had passed, the maid was seen; and she

What Archaeological Evidence is there for work and Business in Pompeii?
Like many towns in the Roman Empire, there were many jobs in Pompeii, and due
to the fact that very few people had kitchens, many people owned restaurants, bars
and various other food shops .
As well as food shops other popular businesses included Fishmongers, Merchants,
Weapon Smiths, Farmers and many more, most of the workers were however slaves.
Fishing:
Due to the fact that Pompeii was so close to the sea, a common job for the residents
was fishing, and because almost everyone went out for food almost every day, no
matter if the fishermen sold the fish to restaurants or directly on the street, they could
still make a good profit. Fishing was an even bigger ... Show more content on

There is a lot of evidence for business in Pompeii, mostly found in and around the

equipment has been uncovered from various jobs. The forum and Macellum both
played a big part in the lives of the residents of Pompeii; whether they worked there

Pompeii were well paid, and because of this, it was quite a wealthy

At 00:05 to 00:12 a close up of the contestant showing his facial expression along
with it slowly zooming in as it does on most shoots to show the tension in the room
of how close he is to winning the jackpot. At 00:12 00:17 the camera cuts to someone
in the audience showing them a close up and again with the zoom, they most likely
showed this shoot as that women is someone related to the contestant and is
feeling similar emotions to the contestant. From 00:17 00:20 a medium close up of
the presenter with some depth of field, blurring out the background so the viewer s
only focus on him and there is some slight camera movement as it pans ever so
slightly as the presenter moves his body left and right. Then at 00:20 it cuts back to
the contestant showing him a close up. Again we see the presenter shown at a MCU

It was all because of his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather!

the story Stanley loses his innocence, shows responsibility for others and himself,
and shows learning by his and others mistake. In the story Stanley shows
responsibility by carrying Zero up God s thumb and authority for his actions. Zero
hadn t had food for days beside the spoolsh which was making his stomach
crumple.Likewise, if stanley wouldn t have started teaching Zero to read and write
or told the other boys that he was teaching Zero, then the boys wouldn t have ratted

the lesson Stanley was giving Zero, Zero then wouldn t have never ran away.
Stanley took hold of Zero s forearms and pulled him up right... He stood up, lifting
Zero s worn out body off the ground. (Sachar,170).My quote proves Stanley has
responsibility by when he says that he was teaching Zero to read and write when he

companies for example if they are not performing well on some criteria. So they can
take an advantage of those gaps and make profit on their losses. Various open doors

John Donne and W; T Comparative Essay
A text is essentially a product of its context, as its prevailing values are inherently
derived by the author from society. However, the emergence of post modern theories
allows for audience interpretation, thus it must be recognised that meaning in texts
can be shaped and reshaped. Significantly, this may occur as connections between
texts are explored. These notions are reflected in the compostion of Edson s W;t and
Donne s poetry as their relationship is established through intertextual references,
corresponding values and ideas and the use of language features. Edson particularly

Ethical Issues Surrounding Genetic Screening and Genetic Engineering
In today s modern age science is moving at a rapid pace; one of those scientific
fields that has taken the largest leaps is that of genetics. When genetics first comes
to mind, many of us think of it as a type of science fiction, or a mystical dream. Yet
genetics is here, it is real, and has numerous ethical implications. One of the particular
areas of interest is prenatal genetics. In this field, many new and outstanding
innovations have been made. A mother and father can now check for a large array
of disorders that could occur in their child; sexual preference has now been shifted
from the hands of a higher being to that of someone with a Ph.D.; ... Show more

In this brave new field, there have been many steps and strides taken of which we
could have never imagined. For instance, before a mother and father decided to carry
out the process of having offspring, they can visit a genetic clinic to figure out if their
child is likely to have certain illnesses. A list of such illnesses are: Down
syndrome, cystic fibrosis, dwarfism, breast cancer (susceptibility to), fragile X
syndrome, Huntington s Disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and various
types of nervous system degeneration (Golden 51). These are only a few of the
nearly 40 types of disorders that can be determined by genetic testing. It may be
rather nice to know that a child does not have a genetic disease, but what does a
couple do if the results of a genetic test are returned with negative results? Also, if
the information from the test is ambiguous the couple might decide not to carry
out the pregnancy due to risk. In a 1999 article written by Frederic Golden, he
questions if the child should be brought into the world ...in hopes that a cruel
disease can be managed or cured... or if the fetus should be aborted. He also poses
the question of insurance coverage. This might seem like a rather odd comment to
make. Insurance is insurance isn t it? And for the most part we all have it. Yet this
brings us into another issue about genetics, privacy. Our genetic code is consistent
throughout our entire lives. It is who we are. Will insurance coverage be available
Comparing Frankenstein And Mother Nature In
Frankenstein...
From the beginning of time to the present, nature is always portraying as a broad
element of life that is rarely in everyday language. As a genius writer like Mary
Shelley, she writes a frame story called Frankenstein that illustrates the natures of
Victor Frankenstein and the creature. Although it s a story that revolves around
nature but it contains a strong view that Victor Frankensteinas the creator is less
human then his creation. With the very first sight of his creation, Victor already
named it frightful and unpleasing to see. As frighten as Victor can be he abandoned
his creation or the creature to an unknown world. Moreover, as the story progresses
Victor will always live in fear of the creature while the creature is trying to learn...

Knowing his features, the creature isolates itself from the world but seeks a way to
learn and gain knowledge. Shelley uses nature as a symbolic element throughout the
book that foreshadows Frankenstein and the creature s human nature and Mother
Nature. As the creator of the creature Frankenstein, actions towards his surrounding
changed drastically knowing that the monster is somewhere in this world. Since
the beginning of Frankenstein s story he was portrayed as a the innocent and
helpless creature bestowed on them by Heaven, whom to bring up to good, and
whose future lot it was in their hands to direct to happiness or misery, according as
they fulfilled their duties (Shelley 16). As described by Frankenstein s parents, he
was a creature made by God that can amend the future with his hand and led it to
greatness or downfall. This is significant because it proves that from a young age
Frankenstein s parents has given him hope that he can success in life and make
history if he does it right. In other words, he was born with positive human natures
that surround him and shape who he was before he made his monster . However,
after creating the monster
The Problem Of Social Media
In the wake of the recent attacks in Paris and increasing manmade and natural
disasters around the world, the ability to communicate with citizens during times
of crisis is more important than ever. It is no longer appropriate to limit the output
of emergency information to the traditional delivery methods. Social media use
continues to grow at a staggering pace. As of January 2014, 74% of online adults
use social networking sites (Pew Research Center, n.d.). The large percentage
adults who utilize social networks daily makes their use by government agencies
essential. It is no longer acceptable for Dane County Emergency Management not
have a social media presence. With our current messaging system and strategies,
we are being unheard by a large portion of our county s population. This is
particularly true with young adults who reside in our county, as their primary
source of information is through social media. By continuing our trend of no
social media use, our county is putting lives at risk in times of emergencies, when
rapid, accurate information dispersal is of the utmost importance. The strengths of
social media use are well documented. No longer can officials within the county
label its rise in usage as a trend. One of the most powerful attributes of social media
is its ability to be accessed with a mobile device. In regards to emergency
management, this is very beneficial, as most citizens will likely not be monitoring a

Shakespeare Uses His Play the Tempest to Depict a...
In his play The Tempest, Shakespeare uses the stage to present to the audience a
microcosm of society. He minimizes the ideologies of his society so that they are
represented through the characters and settings of the play. Through the use of
dramatic conventions, the playwright examines human behaviour and emotion on a
smaller scale. The shipwreck and the island are a world of their own; however, they
are both representative of wider ideas. The play reflects how humannature shapes a
society. There is continual conflict between the rightful order of things and
challenges to it. The ship demonstrates power struggles and cements the presence of
the hierarchical structure that is applied in civilisation. The island explores

Both characters are enslaved and exploited by Prospero who represents a colonial
force. However, the different treatment of both of them presents to the audience two
varying approaches to slavery of the native folk.
Ariel is adopted by Prospero as his personal servant and is valued by him as a brave
spirit even though his freedom is not granted until the very end. He is repaying a
debt to Prospero and is faithful to him, yet displays subtle resentment that he is not
free. Ariel is a typical personal servant in his attributes. Caliban symbolises a native
that the colonists viewed as savage and enslaved. Prospero s harsh and intolerant
behaviour towards him mimics what would have actually happened in reality
during colonising times. When Prospero fails as an educator in imposing his
values of civilisation on Caliban he regards him as a savage. He decides the only
way to keep Caliban in order is to give him stripes , treating him worse then an
animal. He is restricted to hard manual labour and threatened and bullied by
Prospero, suffering in a similar way that many New World Natives did.
Caliban embodies many aspects of the idea Western society held regarding these
natives. He lived without a rigid social hierarchy unlike advanced European
countries and worshipped an alternate religion to Christianity. His worship of the
Patagonian god Sebetos justifies for Prospero to describe Caliban as a demi devil and

The article Muscular contributions to hip and knee extension during the single limb
stance phase of normal gait: a Theoretical Framework for Crouch Gait by Allison
Arnold, Frank Anderson, Marcus Pandy, and Scott Delp investigates the
biomechanics of normal gait in hopes to uncover ideas to help determine treatments
for crouch gait. Crouch gait is a bothersome abnormality that affects the gait pattern
of people who suffer from the condition of cerebral palsy. It s characterized by
excessive flexionof the hips and knees during standing and excessive use of metabolic
energy to complete a single gait cycle. Currently, the treatments for this condition are
limited and have unpredictable outcomes due to the unknown biomechanical causes
of the excessive flexion in crouch gait. These treatments include surgical lengthening
of hamstrings, ankle foot orthoses, and intense stretching regimens, with patients
experiencing results ranging from no improvement in their symptoms to dramatic
improvements. The vast array of results from treatments are due to the little
understanding medical professionals have of not only abnormal gait patterns (such as
crouch gait) but of normal gait as well (Arnold, Anderson, Pandy, and Delp, 2005).
Despite the article s title relating to crouch gait, the purpose of the study conducted
was to examine and quantify the accelerations of normal hipand kneemovements that
were induced by specific muscles during the single limb stance phase and to rank

My Leadership Reflection Paper
Glimpses of Me
The following is a self reflection of my leadership style and the experiences in my
careers that have led me to a Captain with the Henderson Police Department. The
intent is to provide the reader with some insight into why I am the person that I am
and what I need to do to improve myself and in turn the department as a whole.
I was born in May of 1968 in San Diego, California. I was the first of what would
eventually become 3 children. My parents divorced when I was five and I spent my
early years with my mother and sister, visiting my father on the weekends.
In 1980, my mother remarried and we moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where my
younger brother was born, 13 years my junior. My step father was not a father figure

There was not much in the way of mentoring or assistance in guiding my career, but
being new and wanting to please, I worked hard and did what I was asked, even if I
did not like the way it was asked.
In 1995 the department decided that it needed a Crime Prevention Unit and I was
selected to design and implement this unit. They failed to mention that I was the unit
and would be doing it by myself.
Based on the success I had in the Crime Prevention Unit, I was asked to create a
Crime Analysis Unit and then asked to implement Computer Forensics into our
Investigations Bureau. During all of these assignments, I worked as an individual
and answered to a supervisor, who was uninvolved as long as I did not cause them
issues up the chain and obtained results.
The problem with this was that I learned to depend on no one and developed
patterns that prevented me from learning how to deal with and in turn lead others.
If a project missed a deadline it was my fault. I had the timelines, the due dates, and
where the project was in my head at all times. There was no need to determine how
vacations, sick leave or any other scheduling issue would interfere with the
completion of a project. I never had to learn how to ask another person to pick up
the pace, provide a status check, handle additional workload, etc. Basically, I was a
one man show, which as I moved up the ranks of my department, turned into a
weakness as I had not developed those interpersonal

The Crucible Film Techniques
Another scene in the film in which Kaye has carefully used the soundtrack to
convey the idea of Derek s actions affecting Danny is the revelation scene later on in
the film. During this scene, we see Derek reflecting on the past through a flashback.
A buildup of soft violin, piano and cello sounds are used in contrast to other parts of
the filmto amplify the sense of happiness and to show how Derek cherishes this
memory as it is possibly the last moment where his life was good. By using a build
up of volume and pace in the soundtrack Kaye is able to make the audience
understand how this is a past memory that is happy for Derek and that the emotions
he is experiencing are due to his change of character from a violent racist into a
normal person.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through his directing Kaye shows the viewer the link between Danny and Derek,
highlighting the issue of racial traits being passed down through modern American
families and warning the audience about the future. His use of camerawork and
soundtrack in uncommon ways compared to how other films of this genre make
this film stand out and provide a more visceral and realistic sense of how racism
affects many Americans in modern times. Kaye s use of close ups provide the raw
and gut wrenching emotions in every scene, be it the stomach turning sense of teeth
touching the curb or to highlight the emotion on a character s face. His use of
soundtrack further enhances every scene seamlessly building tension and then
bringing it all crashing down in a high pitched threnody. Through studying this film
it is clear to see that Tony Kaye s masterful use of camerawork and soundtrack in
these two scenes successfully pushes the message of the film home, which is that
even though we may not be able to see it, racist traits are still passed down through
families in today s world. Although the entire film helps to further push that point it
is these two scenes that show to the viewer that even a simple racist statement from
a parent or sibling can be enough to affect a child for the rest of their life and to
further spread racism and intolerance into the
Augustus s Res Gestae And The Juvenile Satire
Throughout both readings, the reader gets two drastically different accounts on how
Rome was under Augustus. Through Augustus s writing he depicts himself as being
a very fair and humble ruler, one who is fair to all gives opportunities to his enemies.
While on the other hand, the Juvenile Satire s depict Rome as a very dark place, with
Augustuss being a horrible ruler and ruining everything good about Rome. Having
these two depictions of Rome during the rule of Augustus is hard to see which one is
truthful. Augustus humbles himself and gives factual evidence along with dates,
while the JuvenalSatire absolutely destroy anything good about Augusts. Taking that
into account the Rome in Augustus Res Gestae would be the closest depiction of
what the real Rome was truly like during this time, this is because the reader cannot
look at the Satires without knowing that the writer truly hated Augustus and therefore
couldn t give an unbiased account on the events occurring during those times. In the
Res Gestae written by Augustus himself the reader can find that many times
throughout the writings that Augusts is trying to keep a historical account of all the
great things he has done, while at the same time staying humble. I rebuilt the Capitol
and the theater of Pompey, each work at enormous cost, without any inscription of
my name. Here Augustus writes about an amazing deed he did, but staying humble
and trying not to make Rome only about him, he rebuilds it and keeps it as it
The Fitness Of Fitness Magazines
Fitness magazines typically feature articles concerning weight loss and often
include a variety of topics ranging from celebrity workout routines to diets to
supplements to sex tips to and even healthy recipes. Some, such as Men s Fitness
boast a front cover with an attractive celebrity s that has got toned for an upcoming
film and entail that celebrity s routine and diet as well as interviews asking them
what they did to prepare for their role. Often the celebrity says he did some intense
cardio and weight lifting routines and stuck to a very strict diet while leading up
the film s premiere. There are almost always products being endorsed by the
celebrity in the magazine including gyms, supplements, or clothes. The central
component of these magazines however isn t to offer the consumer advice,
motivation, or fitness news. It is instead to show the attractive celebrity showing
off their muscles and abs, which causes consumers to try and look the same. This
is not only found in fitness magazines but in all aspects of the media. This is an
effective technique that targets the consumer s insecurities because as statistics
show the average American male is overweight. And as a culture obsessed with
weight and looking physically aesthetic it is a strong selling point that Gold s Gym
marketers are well aware of. To sell gym memberships, the Gold s Gym
advertisement in Men s Fitness uses bold words spelling the words F A T and F I T
using a overweight man as the center letters
The Everest Simulation, A Team Of Five
Introduction
The Everest simulation, a team of five (or six if an observer is present) with
diferrent roles, communicate and work together to produce decisions to climb to
the peak of mount Everest, while trying to accomplish their own respective goals as
well as the team s goals. Our team of six, named The Rock Stars, are required to
finish two sessions of the simulation, one of which we have to complete as a virtual
team, meaning that each members must do the simulation at the same while being in
diferrent locations, and the other as a standard face to face team. This report will
analyze and discuss the issues that the team faced during the two simulations, and
how those issues reflects to business theories, such as Tuckman s theory of group
development, McGrath s theory of team effectiveness, and Kirkman Malthieu s
argument about teams. This report will also use Neubert s empirical research about
informal leaders to analyze the leadership structure that is present in the team, and
wether informal leaders are present, and lastly, this report will contain my personal
reflections and the things I have learned throughout the simulations as a team member.
Issues Encountered During The Simulation
Virtual Team
During the first climb on September 1st, 2014, the team is still scattered and the
members are reluctant to share information and opinions. At the first stage of the
Everest, our appointed leader, Rachel accidentally submitted the final decision,
making the whole team
Coral Reef Loss
A current problem impacting the island of tonga is the destruction of coral reef.
One solution to this problem is to put guard towers to watch people or higher more
DLNR (department of land and natural resources) workers. According to Coral
conservation the text states the world s coral are in a crisis. This shows that if we do
not take action and do something about it like hire more DLNR workers we may as
well kiss the reefs goodbye. According to coral reef: threats/ wwf the text states
Roughly one quarter of coralreefs worldwide are already considered damaged
beyond repair, with another two thirds under serious threat. This shows that hiring
more DLNR is needed because they can watch to make sure no one is doing
anything to harm the reef and that a lot of the reef is already gone. To reach this
solution we must first agree that there is a problem and that this is a way to help fix...

According to losing our coral reefs, the text states that Ten percent of coral reefs
have already been damaged beyond repair, and if we continue with business as
usual, WRI projects that 90% of coral reefs will be in danger by 2030, and all of
them by 2050. This shows that if we do not do anything to try and help then the
coral reef will be in some serious trouble. In order to launch the commercials we
must hire a company to broadcast our commercials during their breaks like CNN.
According to threats to coral reef, the text states Sometimes poisons like cyanide
are dumped into the water to stun fish and make them easier to capture. Sadly,
fishing with cyanide often kills fish, corals, and other forms of wildlife, while
degrading the reef habitat itself. This shows that advertising commercials will help
to notify and encourage people to be more aware and responsible. By doing this we
will help to save a lot of
The Importance Of Childhood In Medieval Art
Childhood is an important part of the life of an individual. This is because childhood
determines to a greater extent the behavior and personality of an individual in
adulthood based on the environment they are brought up. Ideally, every individual
has some childhood memories of pictures in stacks of albums in the house. This
demonstrates the importance of childhood in the development of an individual.
However, ancient artists do not share these sentiments, as they did not portray the
importance of childhood in early paintings and pictures. Aries (1996) pointed out
Medieval art did until about the twelfth century did not know childhood or did not
attempt to portray it (p.33, which demonstrates that ancient artists did not view or

The thirteenth century demonstrated or represented childhood in a concept closer to
the current representation. Childhood representation changed in the thirteenth
century as art embodied aspects of childhood compared to miniature small scale
representation. Ideally, the evolution towards a realistic and sentimental
representation of childhood begins with the childhood of Jesus. The representation of
Jesus on His mother s arms led to family representations that demonstrated childhood
characteristics. However, a more realistic and sentimental childhood representation
revolved around Jesus until the fourteenth century when the
Italian art helped to develop and spread an ideal childhood representation.
The gothic period produced yet another type of childhood representation. This period
saw the representation of a naked child. The previous representation seldom
represented a naked child, except in cases of innocence and death. The allegory of
death and soul introduced child nudity in the medieval period. Nonetheless, the
concept of Holy Childhood continued to develop in both variety and scope from the
thirteenth century onwards. The progress of Holy Childhood showed the progress of
the idea of childhood that was lacking in the previous centuries.
Analysis Of Quran And Its Impact On The Treatment Of
Women
approved and outlined in Quran represented a significant improvement in the
treatment of women. Nevertheless, although the Quran granted the wife some
judicial relief from undesirable unions. The strong influence of social customs,
especially in the Hanafi School of law, narrowly limited the grounds for that relief.

Defining Religion:
In the 1950s and 1960s, many social scientists and historians in the United States
argued that Western societies were becoming secularized and that religion was fading
out as an important part of public and even private life. But they were wrong.
Religion has not only retained its importance for most people in the United States, it
has become the subject of current public debate about national culture and political
practice.
In most Western traditions are two very common definitions of religion. One
emphasizes in an individual s beliefs and the other one is people emptions. The first
defines religion as a set of shared beliefs in sprits or gods. The second identifies
religion in terms of a sentiments of awe and wonder toward the unknown.
I propose to define religion as idea and practice that postulate reality away from
that which is instantly available to the senses. This board definition lets us to look
at a very wide range of context of religion. In each society people construct their
world. They may have a shared set of beliefs in sprits and gods and as a result fit
directly into western definitions of religion. In
Labor Relations Paper
A union is an organization of workers who join together in order to have a voice in
improving their jobs and the quality of work within the organization. In many
occasions, unions help employees of an organization negotiate pay, benefits,
flexible hours and other work conditions that may arise. Unions have a role
because some degree of conflict is inevitable between workers and management
(Noe, 2003). In this paper, I will be discussing the impact of unions and labor
relations within an organization. Labor Unions Labor unions represent workers
interests and the collective bargaining process provides a way to manage the
conflict (Noe, 2003). More than ever, union employees have come to see unionizing

In most cases, bargaining agreements governs wages, benefits, and the working
conditions for the union coalition employees. The agreements also set common
goals and ground rules for the employee s and management. When management
and labor employees have a difficulty coming into agreements, the bargaining
process breaks down. To bring difficult negotiations to an end, unions may possibly
decide to strike. Strikes A strike is a collective decision of the union members not
to work until certain demands or conditions are met (Noe, 2003). If the majority of
the union members vote to strike, the union will strike. Most strikes usually have
union employees not show up to work to perform his/her day to day duties but
rather have the union employees picket outside the organization. While the union
employee is on strike, the employer does not pay the employee his/her wage. In
many strikes, the unions help the employees compensate their wages while they are
on strike. The purpose of a strike is to make the employer lose production because
the regular employee s do not show up to work. The vast majority of labor
management negotiations do not result in a strike, and the number of strikes has
plunged since the 1950s (Noe, 2003). Are unions still relevant in the United States?
Unions are still very relevant in the United States. Labor relations remain an
important competency for HR professionals despite the long term
Antitrust Laws Limit Corporate Aqusition
Introduction
Since the late nineteenth century, the federal government has challenged business
practices and mergers that create or may create a monopoly in a particular market.
Federal legislation has varied in effectiveness in terms of preventing anti competitive
mergers.
Antitrust law is enacted by the federal and various state governments to (1) regulate
trade and commerce by preventing unlawful restraints, price fixing, and monopolies;
(2) promote competition; and (3) encourage the production of quality goods and
services with the primary goal of safeguarding public welfare by ensuring that
consumer demands will be met by the manufacture and sale of goods at reasonable
prices.

ANTITRUST LAWS AND CASES
Sherman Anti TrustAct
The Sherman Antitrust Act(15 U.S.C.A. В§ 1 et seq.) was the first federal antitrust
statute. SEC. 1, 2, and 3, stated that every contract, combination in the form of trust
or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce is declared to be
illegal; and person who shall monopolize, or attempt to monopolize or combine or
conspire with any other person or persons shall be deemed guilty. The Act also
entitled to create Federal Trade Commission, and to define its powers and duties.
However, its application to mergers and acquisitions has varied, depending on its
interpretation by the U.S. Supreme Court.

One artistic strength of Hong Kong cinema, then, is its use of parallels and motifs

So far in this Chinese Cinemas class, I have noticed something every film we have
viewed in class and every Hong Kong film I have watched outside of the lecture: the
stories flow perfectly. At first the films could come off as confusing and spotty with
all the kung fu and epic stories. The Hong Kong films we have viewed so far have
these elaborate story lines that, with thanks to pristine editing and construction, flow
perfectly and the story is conveyed to the viewer with no ... Show more content on

She s the one who wants to be a singer! The use of homosexuality becomes a bit
more serious, as serious homosexuality can get in this comedy, when Sam begins to
find Wing, still disguised as a he, attractive. When Wing listens to Sam play the
piano in his apartment, you can tell that something has change between them. Even
Rose takes notice by how much attention Sam is giving Wing, saying, If you were
a girl, I m certain Sam would be after you. This also gets Wing thinking about Sam
and how much she likes him. For her, the feelings are normal because she s a
woman liking a man, but Sam s feelings for Wing are more complex because he has
no idea about Wing being a woman. But, Sam grows more attached to Wing
because of his personality and his ability to lead a simple life. When Sam suggests
leaving for Africa, Wing seems ecstatic about the idea, compared to Rose who just
wants to go shopping. They almost kiss while playing with the puppets and Sam
mentions how important Wing is to him. He abruptly leaves to go to Rose and
demands sex, as if that will make him forget about his feelings for Wing. But, even
while he is having sex with Rose, he has a vision that he is having sex with Wing.
He begins to question his love for Wing, and
Pearl In Nathaniel Hawthorne s Scarlet Letter
A pearl is highly prized stone hidden in a shell of an oster. It can be white or
blueish grey, and it is a precious gem. They looked as pure and objects and that is
what Pearl in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is seems to be. She is
treasure to her mother, Hester Prynne. Pearl Prynne is one of the significant
characters because she is the living proof of her mom s sin of committing adultery

Pearl s perspective on life is also shown because she looks at circumstances
different than others. When Pearl and Hester were in the forest she noticed that the
sun did not shine through until later when Hester was in pleasure with Dimmesdale
accompanying her. Another way her exile is enriching is that she is in nature and
connects to it to find some insight. She creates a seaweed symbols, and notices little

How To Write A Essay Conclusion

  • 1. How To Write A Essay Conclusion Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write An Essay Conclusion" might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of crafting a compelling conclusion can prove to be more challenging than expected. The conclusion serves as the final impression on the reader, making it a crucial element in the overall essay structure. To begin with, one needs to thoroughly understand the purpose of a conclusion. It's not just about summarizing key points; a well-crafted conclusion should leave a lasting impact, tying together the various threads of the essay and offering a sense of closure. Achieving this requires a keen understanding of the essay's main arguments, as well as the ability to synthesize information effectively. Crafting an effective conclusion also involves striking the right balance between brevity and completeness. It should be concise enough to maintain the reader's interest while encapsulating the essay's main ideas. Avoiding redundancy is another challenge – repeating information already covered in the body of the essay can diminish the conclusion's impact. Furthermore, one must consider the tone and style of the conclusion. It should resonate with the overall tone of the essay, providing a fitting conclusion to the narrative. Achieving this coherence while still offering a fresh perspective can be a delicate task. Ultimately, the difficulty lies in the nuanced skill set required to encapsulate the essence of an entire essay within a few concluding sentences. It demands not only a deep understanding of the subject matter but also a finesse in language and a keen awareness of the reader's expectations. In summary, while writing an essay on the topic "How To Write An Essay Conclusion" may seem straightforward, the actual process involves navigating through the subtleties of synthesis, conciseness, and stylistic choices. It's an art that requires practice and a thoughtful approach to leave a lasting impression on the reader. As people around the world use social media more it will become integral to the intelligence collection process. The advent of social media is significant to Military Intelligence because it provides access to literally billions of people providing information on events, people, and locations in real time at a low cost. Social media, Facebook specifically, has become one of the most successful forms of websites on the Internet. As social media is not monitored for quality control, it will become imperative for intelligence professionals to be able to check the validity of social media intelligence through other resources. Checking social media intelligence through other resources will reduce the timeliness of the reporting as validity is confirmed or denied. In conclusion social media offers billions of opportunities to collect intelligence daily. Social media allows real time intelligence collection at low cost. The downside is the validity of the intelligence needs to be confirmed, and our adversaries can use social media platforms for denial and deception. Regardless of the negatives social media offers immeasurable opportunities for intelligence collection in the near and long term if utilized properly and with an understanding of its

A DUI is a serious offense these days and it s imperative that you hire a lawyer to defend you as soon as possible. However, not all lawyers are created equal, and since lawyers are people too, (although some may not think so) there are good lawyers and bad lawyers out there. If you re searching the Internet for a lawyer, be very careful of sites that claim to be in connection with a top notch firms. You need to check out this connection very carefully. • 4. Synoptic Approach To The Most Important To Solve A Problem I believe that it is important to always find a solution. I believe that there is a solution for any given problem and have applied this attitude throughout my career. I try one way, then find another way if that one does not work. I try every possible solution that I can think of when faced with a problem. I have applied my philosophy that began with computers to other areas of my life with positive results. There is always another angle, a perspective change, an intentional act of thinking around corners, to get to the place in my mind where a solution is found. I learned to work with computers through experimentation. I grew up in the country without other kids in walking or biking distance except for my younger brother who would sit for hours and watch while I sat at the computer. I did not know anyone else who owned or used a computer. I was on my own when I began my journey into technology. I spent a great many hours in front of a black and white TV connected to a Commodore VIC 20 with a user s manual of instructions for how to program in BASIC.... I started to look up problems that I encountered and connect them to known issues that had already been discovered. This synoptic approach leads me to find solutions based upon work that has already been done by someone else or groups who were having similar problems. Each solution that I research adds to my knowledge by revealing the approach that others have taken to solve the same problem. I synthesize these research experiences and use the methods and alternate viewpoints to strengthen my own solution finding skills. The availability of information has allowed me to exponentially increase my understanding of technology and the way solutions are applied on a global

We need to make America green again. ...over the last five decades as states have implemented requirements and consumers have become more aware, the U.S. is way behind leading European countries (Lacey). America is one of the largest producers of waste in the world. With this we should be figuring out new ways in which to recycle and reuse different compounds and materials to ensure a better future. America s waste production is one of the highest in the world, with less than 27% of all its waste produced is actually recycled. The United States has lenient waste and littering laws, making landfills much fuller than what they would be if the laws were stricter. America also places little to no reward on recycling; those who recycle more often than not pay a fee making it more of a hassle. The U.S. is one of the biggest contributors to waste production in the world, in turn the least green of all countries. Citizens and government alike in China are taking steps to encourage recycling; this has also become a profit machine (Norleen). The Chinese have a system where one is able to turn in recyclables and therefore are paid for waste collected. As human tends to feel bias when perceiving themselves, various individuals often suffer from self enhancement bias or self effacement bias. Individuals suffering from extremely cases of self enhancement bias or self effacement bias will lead to a negative work environment as they will feel dissatisfied or discontent with their job and obligations in a company. Individuals suffering from extreme self enhancement bias tends to that they are not being recognized and rewarded for their superior works, which can leads to the false consensus error. The false consensus error occurs when an employee or worker assumes that they can commit unethical behaviors like telling a lie or taking credit for another s work because they genuinely believe that their dishonest actions frequently transpire in society and in the work place. How structurally attractive is it? The online personals market is a specific niche of social networking, and it is a sole sponsor, proprietary platform business. In terms of network effects, it could be seen as a one sided network (users can instigate an interaction, or can have someone else instigate an interaction with them), but is better described as a two sided market with men on one side, and women on the other (with the exception of homosexual sites which are clearly one sided markets). • 9. Rhetorical Devices In The Coquette Meghan Michalski 19 October 2017 From a scene of constraint and confinement, ill suited to my years and inclination, I have just launched into society. My heart beats high in expectation of its fancied joys. My sanguine imagination paints, in alluring colors, the charms of youth and freedom, regulated by virtue and innocence. Of these, I wish to partake. While I own myself under obligations for the esteem which you are pleased to profess for me, and in return, acknowledge, that neither your person nor manners are disagreeable to me, I recoil at the thought of immediately forming a connection, which must confine me to the duties of domestic life, and make me dependent for happiness, perhaps too, for subsistence, upon a class of people, who will claim the right of scrutinizing every part of my conduct; and by censuring those foibles, which I am conscious of not having prudence to avoid, may render me completely miserable (Foster, 29). Through rhetorical devices, dramatic language, and tone, Foster manipulates the readers perspectives and opinions of her characters and provides them with the information to predict Eliza s inevitable demise before she knows it herself. Eliza Wharton s yearning for freedom is a fundamental underlying theme to Foster s novel, The Coquette . Eliza views freedom as the ability to partake in the pleasures and joys of youth without the restrictions and obligations that come with a commitment to marriage. Furthermore, freedom is the choice to
  • 10. Summary Of Language By Angela Carter Language is the most complex form of communication. Throughout time, language has lost some of its meaning, it is no longer all about the conversation. Language has become such a powerful instrument used for building relationships between people and even places. Angela Carter, explains her ideas on the topic. She recognizes languageas something with substance behind it, not just talking for the purpose of vocalizing. The weight you put behind what you say gives it the meaning. Carter proposes that language is the tool that holds all power that gets exerted when speaking. She believes language gives the people everything they need to exist individually and with one another. The history of a language ties in with the culture, the roots of certain words are what make the civilization what it is today. Carter further points out that language influences control and release, the act of domination and liberation. Everything considered, what Carter reveals about language is eye opening. She invites a new perspective on the idea that language is power. Carter leaves this open to interpretation, but we see how language is powerful enough to emotionally hurt people. Using it as an instrument of culture, we are able to open our eyes on the stagnation of progress in making the society we live in today to be as equal it can be. Carter is clear in helping us recognize language is used to both create and destroy but fails to include the various forms of language besides speaking vocally.
  • 11. A Neglected Anniversary Of The New York Evening Mail Journalism has held an important role in society since the seventeenth century; people have depended on journalists to provide new and important information concerning a wide variety of topics. This dependency has led to a great deal of trust in journalists and their word and allowed for journalists to publish what they please. Mencken took advantage of the people s trust when he published the article A Neglected Anniversary in the New York Evening Mail. Mencken created his own history of the bathtub and released it to the public in 1917. The manner in which the article is written completely deceived the readers; many truly believed Mencken s account was true, and the story was believed for quite some time, even after Mencken revealed the truth. The developing trust in journalism and a journalist s word during the early twentieth century created for the instant acceptance and longevity in belief of Mencken s hoax. As previously stated, the hoax began with the publication of the article A Neglected Anniversary in 1917, which was reprinted in 1926 in the article The Bathtub Fable That Caused a Furore; Mencken stated that the bathtub was considered a health hazard and the use of them was frowned upon until President Fillmore installed the first bathtub in the White House. The hoax gained nation wide publicity when newspapers, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, began publishing Rise of the Bathtub, which was a summary of Mencken s original article. Mencken finally
  • 12. Identity In Odd Places Identity in odd places Identity is the idiosyncrasies, backgrounds, and character traits that separate people from one another. Self discipline and mental toughness are just two of the many characteristics I ve had to develop throughout my life success in school, sports, and life in general rely greatly on these traits. I always hated drivingto my Grandmas but this one trip tested my abilities greatly. From preparing for, committing, and carrying out the road trip, I was tested every step of the journey. Getting prepared for the road trip was almost as painful as the car ride itself. I considered preparing the car for a trip equivalent to preparing for a ride in an electric chair. I would always drink at least one entire Gatorade bottle within ten minutes of the trip but this time I was extra thirsty and had two regular sized Gatorades and a water, and like clockwork my mom looked at me disgusted like I just ate a booger and said, Why did you do that? You are going to have to pee 5 miles down the road! I m not stopping for at least fifty so you ll just have to pee yourself . After that I didn t pay attention to anything outside the car because for the first fifty to one hundred miles I saw repetitions of old memories. The boring scenery and lack of sleep took its toll on me after about an hour where each minute that passed by was like a punch from Mike Tyson making my sight fade closer to darkness with each swing. I have never lasted an entire car trip without falling asleep in the first leg of the trip in my life. Even if I had got plenty of sleep the night before, the first leg would inevitably knock me out. One thing that I liked, even though it is also part of the reason I fell asleep, is that during the first hour of driving I got to see the interesting change in scenery from my suburban town with huge houses and crystal blue lakes that sparkle as I go by. Then it slowly faded into one office building and then another and another until a city erupted from the ground around me and I had seen the city lights and people of all different races, cultures, and backgrounds go by. As quickly as it started, it faded back away into the distance behind me and the beautiful lush wooded areas that are so common in the north unfolded around me until all I could see were giant trees around me and a road that doesn t seem to end ahead of me. I had been really interested into the sights and I had loved drawing when I was younger. I had a nice notebook just for drawing and I really wanted
  • 13. My First Symphony Research Paper Music has always been a fundamental part of my life. It sends me on a beautiful journey, full to bursting with emotions held within. It is here, within my own thoughts, that I can truly be myself. What music does so masterfully, is its unyielding capability of captivation and wonder. The listener is made to feel so many things at once, that it is all too easy to become lost within a euphoric trance. As one of my greatest passions, I turn to its pleasures time and time again. Whether it be while writing a work of fiction, jogging onward at the brink of dawn, or perhaps in the still night before bed. My love for music in its entirety has only soared as I have grown older and thus, my first symphony experience, is a wonderful memory I will forever hold dear. If they would, then why is it when a person gets minor inconvenienced by a small problem like not having enough chips for the bean dip, they just accept the problem and they do not do anything about it. William F. Buckley Jr. Wrote an essay called, Why Don t We Complain . Buckley is giving the readers his experience on both the lack of care within the political system and also the apathy people give when it comes to life s minor roadblocks. Society needs to learn that fixing minor problems when given the chance is better than letting a problem grow so much that it starts affecting other people. The audience that this essay is directed to will learn the message of why people should complain, and the purpose the author has to complain. People will do nothing to fix minor, everyday problems; even if the problem is as minor as someone invades someone else s personal space. For example, While Buckley was riding on an airplane, he was inconvenienced by a flight stewardess that could not take Buckley s empty food tray back to the kitchen (76). If he would have only been more affirmative with his words, things would have definitely been different for him. So considering that the author has had experience with being complacent in the real world, Buckley knows the problem of people being passive on a personal level. Buckley wants to show the audience that even the author of the essay can go through the same

While the case in the movie is as a result of crime and medical incapacitation, there are so many other vices in society that have turned young children into parents even before they internalize the true definition of who a parent is. Vices such as civil wars, the HIV/AIDS menace and even sporadic wars between warring nations have left so many young children with the responsibility of bringing up their siblings. The article Muscular contributions to hip and knee extension during the single limb stance phase of normal gait: a Theoretical Framework for Crouch Gait by Allison Arnold, Frank Anderson, Marcus Pandy, and Scott Delp investigates the biomechanics of normal gait in hopes to uncover ideas to help determine treatments for crouch gait. Crouch gait is a bothersome abnormality that affects the gait pattern of people who suffer from the condition of cerebral palsy. It s characterized by excessive flexionof the hips and knees during standing and excessive use of metabolic energy to complete a single gait cycle. Currently, the treatments for this condition are limited and have unpredictable outcomes due to the unknown biomechanical causes of the excessive flexion in crouch gait. These treatments include surgical lengthening of hamstrings, ankle foot orthoses, and intense stretching regimens, with patients experiencing results ranging from no improvement in their symptoms to dramatic improvements. The vast array of results from treatments are due to the little understanding medical professionals have of not only abnormal gait patterns (such as crouch gait) but of normal gait as well (Arnold, Anderson, Pandy, and Delp, 2005). Despite the article s title relating to crouch gait, the purpose of the study conducted was to examine and quantify the accelerations of normal hipand kneemovements that were induced by specific muscles during the single limb stance phase and to rank these

During all of these assignments, I worked as an individual and answered to a supervisor, who was uninvolved as long as I did not cause them issues up the chain and obtained results. The problem with this was that I learned to depend on no one and developed patterns that prevented me from learning how to deal with and in turn lead others. If a project missed a deadline it was my fault. I had the timelines, the due dates, and where the project was in my head at all times. There was no need to determine how vacations, sick leave or any other scheduling issue would interfere with the completion of a project. I never had to learn how to ask another person to pick up the pace, provide a status check, handle additional workload, etc. Basically, I was a one man show, which as I moved up the ranks of my department, turned into a weakness as I had not developed those interpersonal

  • 41. The Crucible Film Techniques Another scene in the film in which Kaye has carefully used the soundtrack to convey the idea of Derek s actions affecting Danny is the revelation scene later on in the film. During this scene, we see Derek reflecting on the past through a flashback. A buildup of soft violin, piano and cello sounds are used in contrast to other parts of the filmto amplify the sense of happiness and to show how Derek cherishes this memory as it is possibly the last moment where his life was good. By using a build up of volume and pace in the soundtrack Kaye is able to make the audience understand how this is a past memory that is happy for Derek and that the emotions he is experiencing are due to his change of character from a violent racist into a normal person.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through his directing Kaye shows the viewer the link between Danny and Derek, highlighting the issue of racial traits being passed down through modern American families and warning the audience about the future. His use of camerawork and soundtrack in uncommon ways compared to how other films of this genre make this film stand out and provide a more visceral and realistic sense of how racism affects many Americans in modern times. Kaye s use of close ups provide the raw and gut wrenching emotions in every scene, be it the stomach turning sense of teeth touching the curb or to highlight the emotion on a character s face. His use of soundtrack further enhances every scene seamlessly building tension and then bringing it all crashing down in a high pitched threnody. Through studying this film it is clear to see that Tony Kaye s masterful use of camerawork and soundtrack in these two scenes successfully pushes the message of the film home, which is that even though we may not be able to see it, racist traits are still passed down through families in today s world. Although the entire film helps to further push that point it is these two scenes that show to the viewer that even a simple racist statement from a parent or sibling can be enough to affect a child for the rest of their life and to further spread racism and intolerance into the
  • 42. Augustus s Res Gestae And The Juvenile Satire Throughout both readings, the reader gets two drastically different accounts on how Rome was under Augustus. Through Augustus s writing he depicts himself as being a very fair and humble ruler, one who is fair to all gives opportunities to his enemies. While on the other hand, the Juvenile Satire s depict Rome as a very dark place, with Augustuss being a horrible ruler and ruining everything good about Rome. Having these two depictions of Rome during the rule of Augustus is hard to see which one is truthful. Augustus humbles himself and gives factual evidence along with dates, while the JuvenalSatire absolutely destroy anything good about Augusts. Taking that into account the Rome in Augustus Res Gestae would be the closest depiction of what the real Rome was truly like during this time, this is because the reader cannot look at the Satires without knowing that the writer truly hated Augustus and therefore couldn t give an unbiased account on the events occurring during those times. In the Res Gestae written by Augustus himself the reader can find that many times throughout the writings that Augusts is trying to keep a historical account of all the great things he has done, while at the same time staying humble. I rebuilt the Capitol and the theater of Pompey, each work at enormous cost, without any inscription of my name. Here Augustus writes about an amazing deed he did, but staying humble and trying not to make Rome only about him, he rebuilds it and keeps it as it

The Fitness Of Fitness Magazines Fitness magazines typically feature articles concerning weight loss and often include a variety of topics ranging from celebrity workout routines to diets to supplements to sex tips to and even healthy recipes. Some, such as Men s Fitness boast a front cover with an attractive celebrity s that has got toned for an upcoming film and entail that celebrity s routine and diet as well as interviews asking them what they did to prepare for their role. Often the celebrity says he did some intense cardio and weight lifting routines and stuck to a very strict diet while leading up the film s premiere. There are almost always products being endorsed by the celebrity in the magazine including gyms, supplements, or clothes. The central component of these magazines however isn t to offer the consumer advice, motivation, or fitness news. It is instead to show the attractive celebrity showing off their muscles and abs, which causes consumers to try and look the same. This is not only found in fitness magazines but in all aspects of the media. This is an effective technique that targets the consumer s insecurities because as statistics show the average American male is overweight. And as a culture obsessed with weight and looking physically aesthetic it is a strong selling point that Gold s Gym marketers are well aware of. To sell gym memberships, the Gold s Gym advertisement in Men s Fitness uses bold words spelling the words F A T and F I T using a overweight man as the center letters

Our team of six, named The Rock Stars, are required to finish two sessions of the simulation, one of which we have to complete as a virtual team, meaning that each members must do the simulation at the same while being in diferrent locations, and the other as a standard face to face team. This report will analyze and discuss the issues that the team faced during the two simulations, and how those issues reflects to business theories, such as Tuckman s theory of group development, McGrath s theory of team effectiveness, and Kirkman Malthieu s argument about teams. This report will also use Neubert s empirical research about informal leaders to analyze the leadership structure that is present in the team, and wether informal leaders are present, and lastly, this report will contain my personal reflections and the things I have learned throughout the simulations as a team member. Issues Encountered During The Simulation Virtual Team During the first climb on September 1st, 2014, the team is still scattered and the members are reluctant to share information and opinions. At the first stage of the Everest, our appointed leader, Rachel accidentally submitted the final decision, making the whole team

  • 46. The Importance Of Childhood In Medieval Art Childhood is an important part of the life of an individual. This is because childhood determines to a greater extent the behavior and personality of an individual in adulthood based on the environment they are brought up. Ideally, every individual has some childhood memories of pictures in stacks of albums in the house. This demonstrates the importance of childhood in the development of an individual. However, ancient artists do not share these sentiments, as they did not portray the importance of childhood in early paintings and pictures. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thirteenth century demonstrated or represented childhood in a concept closer to the current representation. Childhood representation changed in the thirteenth century as art embodied aspects of childhood compared to miniature small scale representation. Ideally, the evolution towards a realistic and sentimental representation of childhood begins with the childhood of Jesus. The representation of Jesus on His mother s arms led to family representations that demonstrated childhood characteristics. However, a more realistic and sentimental childhood representation revolved around Jesus until the fourteenth century when the Italian art helped to develop and spread an ideal childhood representation. The gothic period produced yet another type of childhood representation. This period saw the representation of a naked child. The previous representation seldom represented a naked child, except in cases of innocence and death. The allegory of death and soul introduced child nudity in the medieval period. Nonetheless, the concept of Holy Childhood continued to develop in both variety and scope from the thirteenth century onwards. The progress of Holy Childhood showed the progress of the idea of childhood that was lacking in the previous centuries.

(J.DeLong Bas, 2001) Defining Religion: In the 1950s and 1960s, many social scientists and historians in the United States argued that Western societies were becoming secularized and that religion was fading out as an important part of public and even private life. But they were wrong. Religion has not only retained its importance for most people in the United States, it has become the subject of current public debate about national culture and political practice. In most Western traditions are two very common definitions of religion. One emphasizes in an individual s beliefs and the other one is people emptions. The first defines religion as a set of shared beliefs in sprits or gods. The second identifies religion in terms of a sentiments of awe and wonder toward the unknown. I propose to define religion as idea and practice that postulate reality away from that which is instantly available to the senses. This board definition lets us to look at a very wide range of context of religion. In each society people construct their world. They may have a shared set of beliefs in sprits and gods and as a result fit directly into western definitions of religion. In

In many occasions, unions help employees of an organization negotiate pay, benefits, flexible hours and other work conditions that may arise. Unions have a role because some degree of conflict is inevitable between workers and management (Noe, 2003). In this paper, I will be discussing the impact of unions and labor relations within an organization. In most cases, bargaining agreements governs wages, benefits, and the working conditions for the union coalition employees. The agreements also set common goals and ground rules for the employee s and management. When management and labor employees have a difficulty coming into agreements, the bargaining process breaks down. To bring difficult negotiations to an end, unions may possibly decide to strike. Strikes A strike is a collective decision of the union members not to work until certain demands or conditions are met (Noe, 2003). If the majority of the union members vote to strike, the union will strike. Most strikes usually have union employees not show up to work to perform his/her day to day duties but rather have the union employees picket outside the organization. While the union employee is on strike, the employer does not pay the employee his/her wage. In many strikes, the unions help the employees compensate their wages while they are on strike. The purpose of a strike is to make the employer lose production because the regular employee s do not show up to work. The vast majority of labor management negotiations do not result in a strike, and the number of strikes has plunged since the 1950s (Noe, 2003). Are unions still relevant in the United States? Unions are still very relevant in the United States. Labor relations remain an important competency for HR professionals despite the long term
