The Rosewood Hotels Resorts
The Rosewood Hotels Resorts is a private hotel management company founded in Dallas, Texas by
Caroline Rose Hunt Trust Estate in 1979. The company had been adopting an individual branding
positioning strategy, for which it managed a collection of hotels across continents under individual
property names. This positioning strategy had helped differentiate Rosewood from corporate chain
like competitors in the same industry. Prior to 2003, Rosewoods focused mainly on acquiring and
renovating properties, building 12 unique and distinctive hotels globally. This strategy proved
successful, despite the fact that the John Scott, the company s CEO and Robert Boulogne, the COO
were concerned that the company was missing out the opportunity for potential growth in brand
recognition. However, after 25 years of operation, in the year of 2004, the company encountered
some business challenges that became barriers in raising brand awareness and customer retentions.
Issue Statement
Rosewood s individual brand strategy was consistent with their brand concept: A sense of Place ,
which was the underlying standards Rosewood capitalized upon when developing their properties.
This concept implies that each hotel needed to be tailored in a way such that the unique features
and characteristics of a specific location were emphasized and prominent, in respect of interior
designs, services and amenities. This positioning strategy was sufficient to generating considerable
revenues for the company,

The Germination of Seeds of the Native Plant Acacia
The Germination of Seeds of the Native Plant Acacia decurrens Practical Report Biology 1
Introduction:
In a botanical sense, germination is the process of emergence of growth from a resting stage. (http:/
/encyclopedia.laborlawtalk.com/germination). Under favourable conditions, the seed begins to
germinate, and the embryonic tissues resume growth, developing towards a seedling.
Soils from a Cumberland Plain Woodland community were investigated to determine the presence
of a soil seed bank; and whether species richness and abundance of plants germinating from it were
affected by heating such as that experienced in a fire. It was found that certain seeds reacted
differently, and he the phsyical action of heating, whether at low or ... Show more content on

Daily observations were recorded in a diary and then placed into a table of results featured below.
Results: Effects of heat on Acacia Decurrens

Both Heat treated groups 1 amp; 2 had seeds that germinated within 3 4 days of receiving this heat
treatment. This averaged the amount of 66.5% of the total seeds germinated. In contrast both
Control groups that were not subjected to any form of heat treatment but were still soaked in cold
water did not show signs of germination at all within the 10 days time limit.
Discussion:
The results of the experiment demonstrate that if Acacia decurrens seeds are subjected to the heat
treatment by placing the seeds in boiling water and leaving them in that same water for a period of
24 hours, then the rate at which the seeds germinate will be affected. It can be suggested that this
increased germination rate occurs because the boiling water, by which the seeds were soaked in,
breaks down the hard coating on the outside layer of the seed, thus allowing the seedling to
penetrate through the coating and begin the germination process. This controlled

In the years following the September 11th terrorist attacks, homeland security has been at the
forefront of American public policy. According to a January 2015 Pew Research poll, seventy five
percent of Americans believe that protecting the Homeland against terrorism should be the number

How Does Writing Affect My Writing Style
When I start to write a draft, I usually freewrite. I use that technique, because it was easier to me
than brainstorming or following an outline. In order for me to write, I generate ideas on a scrap
paper. And draw ideas from that list, the more sub ideas that come from one idea, it s most likely
that I will write about that idea. When I try to write with an outline, I tend to get lower grades,
because I do exactly as my teacher tells us to write the paper, but I don t add any tricks to make my
writingstyle better. When writing, I prefer to be in a quiet area, at a desk with my laptop. The
only quiet area in my house, is my bedroom. I do have to have a little music to listen, it actually

53 RWHAP
The 53 RWHAP Part A recipients reported the number of staff FTE assigned to CQM. Data was
extracted from each application and the total FTE for one recipient was further categorized
based on the position titles. The number of FTE staff in the recipient s CQM program ranges
from 0 17.3 FTE. On average, 3.27 FTE are on staff and the median is 2.35 FTE. It is important
to note that some recipients reported the FTE including contractors specifically assigned to CQM.
CQM Staff Roles and Responsibilities Narrative: Extracted information from each recipient s
application was categorized into different position titles. Since the titles for similar roles and
responsibilities varied among each recipient, general position titles were created based on the
duties. According to the data presented, recipients reported having 5 contract analysts, 7
epidemiologists, 7 nurses, 10 research analysts, 15 administrative assistants, and 18 health
specialists. In addition, recipients reported having 47 QM managers, 40 data managers, 35 program
administrators, and 10 other FTEs that range from a social work intern to a staff analyst.

Since the descriptions of quality management staff vary among the same reported position title, it
is more important to examine the specific roles and responsibilities of each CQM staff rather than
the designated position title on the report. Additionally, the number of FTE does not always
correlate with the amount of quality management work produced by the recipient. Some recipients
reported 1 FTE but subcontracted many services, while other recipients reported many FTE s but
only 1 contracted service. Therefore, the number of FTE, description of positions, and contractor
roles must all be examined in a comprehensive review in order to analyze an individual

The Age of Division was a base for change in the future for China. While many wealthy families
were dividing China apart the people were looking for an answer to unify them all. During this time
China would change many aspect in its society which would help shape the future of its culture. At
the time Buddhismmade some changes when the Great Vehicle system was introduced making
Buddhism more a religion than a way of thinking. One of the way to bring people together is
religion and that is what buddhism did. It provided a new vision to the people of China and

This is do to the fact that when Buddhism and Daoism were becoming religions they borrowed a
lot from each other. While some of the concepts may be different they were both a refreshing
way to act. Confucianism had dominated a lot before the age of division and the people were
tired of it. In Ge Hong s autobiography it seemed that he was really laid back and didn t want to
be given anything. Ge Hong s self virtuous ruled over his actions and his story is very similar to
that of the Buddhist monks. Comparing him to Seng Baozhi, they both tried to gain knowledge
at a young age and they have a similar story of walking around in the cold. Ge Hong says My
clothes do not protect me from the cold... yet none of this causes me worry (Source,93) while in
the passage about Seng Baozhi it is said that At one time Baozhi was walking in the cold without
any upper garment (Source, 101). This shows that no matter if it was Buddhism or Daoism people
were trying to find something to believe in when the people were separated. The people may be

The Extent Of The Government Role Of The American Economy
The Extent of the Government Role in the American Economy Nicolai Noordzy Northcentral
Technical College The Extent of the Government Role in the American Economy The economy
was one of the most pressing issues in the recent 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, which saw
Republican businessman and celebrity Donald Trump closely elected over former Secretary of
State and Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton. In many ways, the election can be seen as a
backlash and conservative effort against the economic philosophies and policies of the two
candidates and their parties, and on which candidate could better spur economic growth. The
economy greatly affects all American lives, often without the people s direct say, but

Millions of people lost their jobs, and millions more would not be able to find work thereafter.

programs start of mostly in kindergarten sand 1st grade and continue throughout primary education,
in addition some dual languageprograms depending on the grade continue through middle and

school district to start using it was Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida in 1962 in the
following years programs spread into Washington D.C., Chicago, Illinois, and San Diego,
California. There are an abundance of dual language programs nation wide where Spanish is the
most popular language taught with, 94% of instruction throughout the country ( Dual
Language,2014). There have even been bills that have supporting Bilingual Education in the
United States Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Bilingual Education Act of 1968, Lau v. Nichols of
1974, Phyler v. Doe of 1982 and Executive Order 13166 of 2000 lastly No Child Left Behind Act of

One of the biggest benefits in creating more dual language programs would be that the English
language learners will be able to advance more in their academics. The transition from traditional
bilingual education toward English language immersion is an easier switch which ultimately helps
ELLs catch up with their English speaking peers. This not only benefits the students who are ELL
but their peers who at the same time are learning Spanish. English language learners become more

Autism Spectrum Disorder And The Childhood Autism Rating...
Autism spectrum disorder is an umbrella term used in diagnosing a collection of developmental
disorders of the brain that vary in severity1. People with ASD may have trouble with social
interactions, problems with different types of communication, may practice repetitive actions or
behaviors1,2, struggle with paying attention, and suffer from motor disfunctions1. ASD is usually
diagnosed in children between the ages of 2 and 3, this early diagnosisis very beneficial because it
leads to intervention which intern leads to more positive outcomes later in life1. ASD affects 1 in
every 68 American children1 and is 4 5 times more common in boys than girls1. Prevalence of this
disease is on the rise, with a 10 17% increases in cases per year1, which could be due to improved
diagnostic methods, environmental factors, and other reasons that are unknown1. One well
established diagnostic tool is the Childhood AutismRating Scale (CARS) which is 15 point rating
scale3 used to diagnose children with ASD and determine its severity2. Another less accredited, but
still informative diagnostic tool is the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC)2 which
differs from the CARS because it is a parent rater form of measurment2. ASD has no cure, but there
have been studies that show behavioral outbursts can be reduced with the use of certain movements
and breathing techniques4. This encourages confidence that more aspects of ASD can be improved
with similar methods. Professionals fill out the

The Layer Of The Skin
Stratum Corneum this layer is the outer most layers; it is formed from numerous layers of
compressed scale like, overlapping cells. What makes up the surface of the skin is corneocytes,
which are commonly called dead skin cells . Keratinocytes are found in the epidermis they travel up
through the layer where they are formed into corneocytes. The stratum corneum layer protects
against lights, chemicals, water loss, heat and bacteria.
Stratum Lucidum is an additional layer of the skin, found only in the palms of our hands and the
soles of our feet; it is a very shallow layer of just 3 clear layers of cells. Eledin is found in this layer,
a protein rich clear gel like substance that helps give us strength, grip and also protection.
Stratum Granulosum is another shallow layer; it is made up 3 to 5 layers of flat packed grainy
cells called kertaohylain cells which act similar to a water filter, to absorb any foreign bodies. This
eases water loss and keeps up hydration in the skin.
Stratum Spinosum is formed from two to six rows of stretched cells; they have spiky spines that
attach to nearby cells. In this layer there are two other key cells Langerhans cells and melanocyte
cells. Langerhans capture and process any foreign bodies, they are then distributed to the lymph
vessels followed by white blood cells, resulting the immune system activating. Melanocyte cells

Essay about The Historical Significance of Puerto Rico
The Historical Significance of Puerto Rico
For most of its history, Puerto Rico has been controlled by an outside power, and its people
oppressed. While Puerto Rico is currently a U.S. territory, Spanish colonialism has had a significant
impact on the island s development and identity. The history of the island itself is proof of this fact,
demonstrating each step Puerto Rico took to reach its current state. By examining the stages of
Spanish control that Puerto Rico experienced, we can determine how each stage affected the
structure and identity of Puerto Rico.
Before Spain invaded Puerto Rico, the native population known as the Taino inhabited it. At the

Puerto Rico remained under Spanish control until 1898, but in the 1540 s, Spain discovered
silver mines in Mexico and Peru. Puerto Rico was virtually abandoned, becoming a frontier zone.
However, both the Spanish oppression and this new development resulted in the development of a
kind of counter culture among the peasant population of Puerto Rico. Forced into labor, the
peasants developed a passive, evasive attitude toward Spanish control. (Figueroa 9/24) A reflection
of this can be seen in Francisco de Valle Atiles s article The Spiritual Life of the JГ

to Valle Atiles, The speech of the peasant has the imperfections of those who never had any
education; he still uses words that modern Spanish has forgotten, and the impurity and barbarism of
his language are notorious. (Valle Atiles 95) This describes the essence of the Puerto Rican
peasant: poor, uneducated, and deemed inferior by his Spanish oppressors. However, the Puerto
Rican peasants had pride in their own culture, and did their best to survive despite their oppressed
status. They refused to be controlled by the Spaniards, even to the point of escaping the areas of the
island most heavily developed by Spain and living in the uninhabited area.

Columbia and Drug Trade Essay
Columbia and Drug Trade
Nowadays, when someone thinks of Colombia, they unfortunately almost always think of two
things, coffee and cocaine (with its associated guerilla warfare). It is true that during the last 50
years these two products, one legal, and the other not, have been great monetary contributors to the
Colombian economy. Coffee is Colombia s principal agricultural product, and it is also the
country s second largest export. The production of coffee uses 300,000 farms and employs almost
one million people (Steiner 6). Conversely, cocaine is a completely illegal product, but it earns
almost twice as much money as coffee (Steiner 6). Also, in contrast with the production of coffee,

The drug dealers have captured a great deal of power in Colombia, and have adopted the position of
the government in many instances. The drug trade has ruined the image of Colombia, and has
caused the world to forget about the other goods produced in Colombia, like coffee, flowers, oil
and gas for instance. As the website put out by the Colombian Government Trade Bureau entitled
Colombia Trade News states,
Colombia is well endowed with minerals and energy resources. It has the largest coal reserves in
Latin America and is second to Brazil in hydroelectric potential. The country s oil reserves total
about 2.6 billion barrels. However, these are estimated to represent less than 20% of the country s
actual oil potential. This site also discusses how Colombia s unique climate and topography allow
for success in production of natural goods such as the aforementioned coffee, flowers, tropical
fruits, and livestock to name a few ( Colombia Trade News ).
The earning of mass amounts of drug money has created a debate about whether the drug trade has
helped or hurt the Colombian economy. Specifically, the debate centers on how narcotics have
affected the economy in the short and long runs because the drug trade, in reality, has brought in
millions of dollars. How this money, earned by trafficking drugs, has returned (or not returned) to
the country and its population through its

A Contribution To The Critique Of Political Economy By...
Karl Marx was an influential German philosopher who is widely known for his work on
capitalism. Class was a notable social category for Marx; he discussed ruling class ideas and
explained how a person s class was defined by their relation to the means of production.
Specifically, in the Preface to A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy, Marx (1859)
writes, In the social production of their existence, men inevitably enter into definite relations, which
are independent of their will, namely relations of productionappropriate to a given stage in the
development of their material forces of production (pg. 20). In this essay, I will be discussing what
Marx means when he refers to the relations of production as independent of [men s] will, in that
people enter into enforced, coercive relationships with owners of capital because of the economic
systemwhich structures society. The class relations are built upon a base and a superstructure which
in turn shape the structure of society and its means of production. Consequently, the forms of social
consciousness of society are predetermined and dictated by the ruling classes as people must enter
into these relationships in order to survive, thus creating a dialectical economic superstructure.
Society abides by the social relations put in place between proletariats and the bourgeoisie due to
the coercive nature of these relationships, autonomous of free choice. Though dominating the
actions and choices of society, such coercive relationships with owners of capital are tolerated
due to people s need for survival. People s need for survival results in the need to make money
for their material existence, which includes food and shelter. Awareness of one s current economic
system also contributes to the understanding of the established social order. However, due to their
subordinated status, low income and low skilled jobs may be their only opportunity for survival.
For instance, undergraduate university students are only armed with high school diplomas and
few skills, but require earning a living to complete school to try and succeed within a capitalist
society. As a result of the few skills and little schooling students possess, taking low skilled jobs

Essay on The Power of Money in Campaign Finance
It may seem that with the Buckley decision, soft money and PACs the hope for reform has been
lost, however there is still hope. The Supreme Court upheld the voluntary public financing of
presidential election, which was considered a great step forward because taking public funds
requires the candidate to limit their spending on the federal level. There is also the hard money in
political campaigns, which is strictly regulated by law through the Federal Election Commission.
Hard money is the contrast to soft money meaning that it is the contributions made by a person
or PAC that gives to a federal campaign or political party for the use in federal elections. But of

As a result, all means of legal cheating had been justified.
PACs and overly wealthy individuals are not the only ones dipping their hands in the secretly
jumbled world of campaign finance. Smaller interest groups and lobbyists are also getting their
favors and paychecks. Because election laws are so crammed with exceptions these different
groups can directly and openly support a candidate spending as much money as they would like.
This loophole is referred to as independent expenditures. The Supreme Court cleared the way for
smaller groups to work directly for or against a candidate, so long as the group does not coordinate
its efforts with the candidate it supports. Although these expenditures tend to be a just a bit smaller
then soft money funds, they are far more straightforward and blunt which proves to be even more
effective (Anderson 2000).
In my view, campaign finance has gone from something that could potentially help give the power
of government back to the people to a complete joke. When trying to answer the questions of
campaign finance you get a series of hidden meanings, jumbled definitions and no real answer to
you questions, which is exactly the way Washington and campaign workers like it. The more
bizarre and convoluted the rules are the more money each campaign can make. It seems that only
way to find out any real information is to become a member of the inside, controlling the way
campaigns really operate and change.

success, but the tide would turn in favour of the French during the period comprising the war s
Fourth phase (1399 1429), whittling down the territory held by the English to the region of Calais
and retaining French sovereignty over the lands. Resounding military successes, effective tactics
and weaponry gave way to weaknesses caused in part by an overstretched military, allowing the
French to emerge victorious in successive battles and reclaim regions that had previously fallen to
the English. The defection of Burgundy to the side of the French proved to be a costly betrayal for
England, while internal political disputes further undermined their efforts... Show more content on

These problems had some political, rather than strictly economic origins the decline in revenue
from direct taxation, from its peak at 1100 sterlings in 1360 to as low as 100 sterlings during the
1400s was not necessarily due to a lack of means to pay taxes, but a waning political will and
interest . During this time, the parliament and convocations blocked proposed direct taxes, thus
leaving the poorer towns under a heavy tax quota and leaving wealthier parts of society relatively
untouched of the poorer populations, the town of Beverley had, for instance, made a protest
addressed to its provost in 1435 opposing the payment of 200 marks . Following the death of
Henry V in 1422, the English parliament s financial contributions to the war ceased for a period of
seven years as the will to continue investing in the war waned, thus placing limits on ambitions for
conquests in France. The Duke of Bedford, who oversaw the governing of French territories,
managed to maintain garrisons and safeguard conquered territory during this period through
taxation from the English possessions in France, though this brought dissatisfaction among the
peasantry in regions such as Normandy. Subsidies only began again when the gains made under
Henry V appeared to be endangered in

Eric Foner American Freedom Summary
Response to Eric Foner on American Freedom Foner emphasizes on the diverse interpretations of
freedom, and based on people s lived experiences within American society, it can represent different
things. Since it has no fixed definition within the article, Foner views freedom as a concept and
states by its very nature is the subject of disagreement (xiv). People s worldview can help shape
what freedom means to them and it may limit what freedom means to others. Although the
Declaration of Independence promotes all humans having unalienable rights given by the creator,
which are life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness, not all americans are able to enjoy those rights
in American society. As American societal norms constantly change (eventually),

This approach is a way to miss and dismiss the point of Blacks actually discussing the critical
state their community is in. The focus is not black lives over other s lives in the world, but is it
the focus of the neglect of black lives, when taken away, they are not viewed with disgust as
when their white counterparts die/are harassed in the same manner. It s weirdly interesting that
when Blacks are literally killed for following the law and are unarmed, they are blamed for their
own death, all because a cop feared for their life. Once officers say that phrase, which I view as a
clichГ© to say when one signs up for such a fearful job, cases are usually wrapped up and
forgotten about. However, thanks to social media, the public is able to see the hideous lies and
blatant truth about certain cases that highlight why the people have a problem with the
government and distrust the police. Oddly as all Americans are forced to pay taxes, these taxes
go to public necessities like schools, to fire stations and to the police station, even to wars. Sadly
I interpret it as the government focuses Blacks to pay police to kill their people off, and the
government seems to always instantly support the officer s word over the victim (if still alive), and
people. If people do not stand up against

Irish Schools Vs American Schools
(Hook Statement) Irish and American schools are very different and similar in many ways. All
Irish primary Irish schools are free while American colleges and private schools cost money. Most
Irish schools are linked with the catholic church while most american public schools are linked with

systems are higher than the US because of exams, the classes you take determine your future, and
extracurricular activities.

The Federalist Papers By John Jay
The Federalist Papers
This country and this people seem to have been made for each other, and it appears as if it was
the design of Providence that an inheritance so proper and convenient for a ban of brethren,
united to each other by the strongest of ties, should never be split into a number of unsocial,
jealous, and alien sovereignties. (Jay 1787) This was written by John Jay in one of a collection of
85 essays written by John Jay, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton known as The Federalist
Papers. (Henretta, Edwards, Self, 2012) The Federalist Papers were written during a time of
uncertainty, when a new nation was attempting to do what no other nation in the world had ever
done, set up a government of the people, by the people and for the people. These essays were
influential, well written and published at a juncture in history where they were needed the most.
The Federalists Papers were instrumental to the ratification of the U.S. Constitution and perhaps
some of the most important documents in U.S. national history for without the Federalists Papers,
our constitution and nation would not be what they are today. The end of the revolutionary war
with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783 meant the great experiment was really about to
begin. It really boiled down to a simple question, can man govern himself? A revolution occurred
against the most powerful empire in the world because the founding fathers believed the answer to
be yes . For this to

A Coat Of Arms
Historically, the profession of nursing has been viewed as an inferior occupation, one that holds a
lower status when compared to other medical professions (Thupayagale Dithole, 2005, pg. 1).
Contrastingly, nursing is one of the most vital careers within the health care system, with
continuous demands for their services (Burhans, 2008, pg.2). Generally, a poor perception and
understanding of this profession exists which prevents nurses from being properly recognized for
their crucial role within society (Thupayagale Dithole, 2005, pg.2). Ultimately, four symbols will be
discussed in this essay deprived from the creation of a coat of arms. They will serve to acknowledge
nurses as more than providers of care and comfort, but as truly valuable medical professionals in
their own right. The first symbol chosen to embody nursing is waves which characterize the quality
of upstream thinking. Their constant movement is representative of either an upstream or
downstream thinking approach, depending on the individual s perspective. This quality depicts
how nurses advocate, focusing their practice at an individual level, overlooking systematic
complications and injustice (Murphy and Norma, 1993, pg.1). As well, nursing plays an important
role in contributing to the improvement of individual s lives through health promotion and
education. This method contrasts that of downstream thinking, characterized as temporarily fixing
a problem (Murphy and Norma, 1993, pg.6). For example,

Alienation By Kristen Dombek s Piece, She Details Various...
Alienation is something we find to be constantly present within our society. This idea is steadily
exemplified throughout history whether it be through class, race, or any social unjust. In
Kristen Dombek s piece, she details various accounts of social alienation. The reader follows as
Dombek reveals corruption between human relationships and the way we interact with world.
She exposes what we are all afraid to admit modern values and morals. Kristen Dombek presses
us with the question of why we do the things we do and live the way we live. Readers are forced
to question if they are slaves to the world around them. Do we succumb to the social and
economical pressure demanded from us, and if so, will we allow that to happen for the
generations after us? Although alienation is something that roots from ourselves as individuals,
recognize the factors in our lives that this originates from. Question the relationships people
have established in their own neighborhood, or if a prosaic office job is fulfilling. When we
serve our economy but it does not do the same for us, the symbiosis or harmony in which live in
is disrupted. Will we make a change for the beauty we desire to create and the life we lead in
oppression today or tomorrow? In Bank robbin in Brooklyn Kristen Dombeck explores the ideas
of societal alienation by questioning the dynamic of people s lives in their neighborhoods, in the
workplace and their roles in society in general. Neighborhoods are the places where

Concept Of Tuition Fees
The Nobody State University when increasing the tuition fee should do this while ensuring that the

Paying in installments will lessen the effect the student will feel when the fees are increased. The
increase in revenue will make the students more resistant to any other change that the university
might want to add.
The amount of revenue will remain the same if the cost of collecting that revenue will increase.
Admissions of students cost a lot of money. The difference will just be the same, and the
university will not have done any justice to itself or the students. Fewer students to be enrolled will
mean that the staff is underworked. The economy is another condition that will decide whether
revenue will increase once the fee is increased. Improved economy means that students can afford
the state university fees. Regardless of the increased fee, more students will want to enroll (Cini
2015). What the university should do to expand revenue is through marketing. The university
should have a good marketing plan to attract more students to the school. Nobody State University
can for example come up with a program that students apply for free school meals for those who
academically perform better. Search kind of marketing strategy will attract more students to enroll.
This way revenue will be expanded.
Another way to expand revenue is through resourceful staffing. The university can look at how
efficiency can be achieved in the staffing budget. The university should have guidance on

Arthritis is a disease process that many people are affected by today. It is defined as, painful
inflammation and stiffness of the joints . Within arthritis, there are two different types of this

Over all , the trend that we noticed was that most patients preferred cold therapy over heat therapy,
but in most cases, when both aspects were utilized, they yielded a better result.
Research
Because pain is the main issue that we are looking at absolving, we wanted to look at how patients
reacted to pain. Yvonne C. Lee et al. looked at pain sensitivity and pain reactivity in osteoarthritis.
The purpose of the study was to assess the experimental pain sensitivity and compare the
inflammatory response to pain in 26 OA patients and 33 age and sex matched controls from the
general population.
The methods consisted of participants undergoing psychophysical pain testing to assess pain
sensitivity in response to heat, cold and mechanical stimuli. Blood samples were taken at baseline
and four time points after testing to determine the effect of acute pain on C reactive protein (CRP),
interleukin 6, interleukin 1beta and tumor necrosis factor alpha. (Lee et al., 2011) They found that
patients with osteoarthritis had lower pressure pain thresholds (P ≤ 0.003) and higher heat pain
ratings (P ≤ 0.04) than controls across multiple body sites. Patients had higher CRP levels than
the controls (P = 0.007). CRP levels did not change in response to pain testing. Although not
statistically significant, patients tended to have higher interleukin

Two case studies. Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 46, 97 103. Purpose: A minimal
contrast method to teaching phonological oppositions is a conceptual, rather than motoric, strategy
to suppress phonological processes. This method was assessed for effectiveness in reducing the
frequency of process use and generalization of treatment effect. Method: Two unintelligible 4 year
old children were confronted with the miscommunication resulting from their misarticulation of a
target word produced as another meaningful word. Four minimal pairs were trained for each
targeted process: deletion of final consonants, stopping, and word initial fronting. Twenty four
generalization probes of non treatment words were assessed for each targeted process. Results:
Minimal pairs treatment procedure was effective in decreasing process use over a short period of
time. Several sound production errors improved concomitantly. Subject A improved more rapidly
than subject B. Generalization to probe words occurred gradually. Clinical Implications: Minimal
contrast treatment is effective and efficient for treating children with phonological disability.
Avoiding listener confusion is motivating for suppressing process use. Word Count: 147 Gierut, J.

Discuss How Carol Ann Duffy Makes Effective Use Of Metaphor.
In Valentine , Carol Ann Duffy uses metaphors to illustrate and attempt to explain the complex
subject of love. Valentine is a very poignant, meaningful poem which is on a very personal level
with
C.A.D. It seems as if she is drawing on personal experiences.
The general tone of the poem appears to be one of bitterness and resentment. Forceful comments
such as, ...Here.. and ...Take it... suggest that she still holds hidden anger towards the events from
which she is drawing her memories.
The main metaphor that she uses is of course an onion. She uses an onion to compare the different
aspects of love in a number of ways. In the first instance of C.A.D s use of an ... Show more content

It seems more likely that she is portraying what many other women, not unlike her, would feel.
Maybe she is trying to dissuade women or even men from feeling this or maybe she is merely
making a statement.
In the second stanza, Carol Ann Duffy reverts to a more forceful and cynical way of approaching
love. The opening of it, ...Here... is especially forceful and the second line compares love to an
onion once more. She says that love ...will blind you with tears like a lover...
She uses the effects of an onion to relate the effects of love.
Basically C.A.D is saying that love hurts. Although this is technically a clichГ©, I don t think that
C.A.D means it as such she seems to be saying that anyone you may fall for will hurt you. In a
way, she seems to be trying to deter people from falling in love.
Also, an onion brings tears to a person s eyes which could be compared to people crying when
they feel down or hurt.
The onion is an ongoing theme throughout the poem. C.A.D states ... its fierce kiss will stay on
your lips.. This time C.A.D uses the onion s taste to help describe the feeling of love. C.A.D has
used all her senses to make her comparisons. In this particular line she compares an onion s strong
taste which lingers in your mouth and a kiss which lingers on your lips and remains a memory. The

Taking a Look at Conspiracy Theories
In today s modern world it seems as if all major events have an official story, and another often
less credible story pursued by doubters and sceptics of the government or the details in the story.
These sceptics are more often than not referred to as conspiracy theorists. The issue that arises with
these conspiracy theoriesis that while some sound over the top ridiculous, some have turned out to
be all but true. For this reason, conspiracies are often controversial, they make serious issues into
a fairytale, or a simple non serious event into a serious concerns. These theories are the result of
paranoia regardless of their truth, they are often formed on assumptions, absence of information,
and fear. For these reasons a conspiracy can be formed around nearly any situation, disaster or
event. Conspiracy theories are not just a modern phenomenon either, and they can be found
throughout human history, but with today s technology it has become easier than every to spread
these ideas around. These ideas propagate due to the culture surrounding the world, and the fear
individuals have of the unknown. Many people prefer elaborate stories over simple explanations,
especially when they feel their government is behind the event. Misunderstanding, disbelief, denial,
fear and human abilities and emotion play into why and how these conspiracy theories emerge.
Theories based outside of definite fact, or the accepted explanation has been occurring as far back
as history goes. The

What Moves the Oil and Gas Price?
Why are oil prices and gas prices so dramatically increased in the last view years? Oil and gas
price will maintain the current level or rise in the next years because of the world economy, an

It is currently estimated that the oil reserves in the United States will last for 20 to 30 years, but

John Wayne Gacy s Summary As A Killer Clown
Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary
In the 1970s, a prolific serial killer named John Wayne Gacy gained notoriety for being the Killer
Clown . Gacy raped and killed 33 young boys and men in Chicago. He would bury the victims in
a crawl space he dug or throw them into the Des Plaines River when the crawl space ran out of

victims he buried in the crawl space. Even though he was well known in the community for his

he was still found guilty of all 33 murders and sentenced to death. The main reason the judge and

In an ordinary murder case, prosecutors have to prove not only that a person was killed, but that the
person charged with the crime intended for someone to die. In a depraved heart murder case,
prosecutors must prove instead that the suspect knowingly did something that was likely to kill,
and that he showed extreme indifference to the possible harm. Gacy would strangle his victims
with a rope, but tried to play it off as erotic a position, that he didn t know that the rope around
the victim s neck would end up suffocating them. This shows how he didn t care that an action he

Speech On Freedom Of Expression
Is freedom of expression really a right of American citizens, and if so, are there any limits? To start
off, freedom of expression is the right to express one s ideas and opinions freely through speech,
writing, and other forms of communication, but without deliberately causing harm to others
character and/or reputation by false or misleading statements. There is no such thing as full
freedom of expression. There are many articles and laws stating that a person has complete and
utter freedom of expression, but they really do not.

Figure 1. (An illustration showing that both men fighting have no freedom of expression, because
they have invaded personal space and property .)
The limits of expression are physically hurting someone or something, slandering, or breaking a
law. To take a deeper perspective on this, if someone was to act in calumny about a different
person, this could possibly limit their freedom of expression. If they were saying different
statements to hurt or offend someone they have no freedom of expression. As well as if
someone was to look at someone or touch someone in a lecherous way, their freedom of
expression is gone, because they have violated someone else. Another case is if someone was to
gibe at someone else and the person was hurt by the words or phrases, the person who committed
the act would lose all of their freedom of expression. To conclude, if a person offends or invades
personal space or property, they have and will lose all of their freedom of expression, the rights an
individual has ends at the point when it affects another person.
Freedom of expression has been an on going issue since the early 1900s. There have been many

Speeches In The Revolutionary War
Revolutionary Speeches The revolutionary war was a time well known in our history. We grew up
learning that all the colonists were tired of the way Britain treated us, what they don t show at a
young age is that not everyone wanted to fight. Not everyone believed that fighting the British was
a good idea; some thought it was smart to stay loyal to the British for they had the biggest militia at
this time. The only way to face something like that is through encouragement, inspiration, and the
wise words from men who want to stand for what they believe in. Many men had the same ideas,
this shows that the repetitive ideas were for emphasis and persuasions. Men like Thomas Paine,
George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Patrick Henry all gave speeches to encourage the
people of America to stand up and fight for what s right. Not only did they sacrifice their careers,
some also fought in the war. If someone was to lay their life on the line for something that had
little to no survival rate, little to no people would do it. Very few men had the courage. Washington
is a well known historical figure for leading the way through the revolutionary war. As Washington

He was one of the many critics to review the film Sabrina on September 23 1954. I agree much
with what he had to say about the film. The movie had humor, romance, and commentary on the
social class. Billy Wilder s focus on movies was shown throughout his work. Crowther had said
For Sabrina we might as well say it and get to over with, now is, in our wistful estimation, the
most delightful comedy romance in years. (Crowther 1954). I was not around during the time
Sabrina had been released but had I been, I would have to approve with Crowther to say Sabrina
was a great romance comedy movie. The film brings attention to the social class in the 1950 s as
Crowther comments And its deftly sophisticated plotting of the ways of a man with a maid...
(Crowther 1954). Crowther brings forward the message of the social note because it s frowned
upon for a wealthy man to be with a lower class woman. Director Billy Wilder knew what was
frowned upon and brought it to attention anyway and this is what made him stand out. I didn t
see too much social commentary in this particular film. I saw more romance and comedy more
than anything throughout the film. I can see where Crowther had seen the social issue but in my
opinion I think it was limited in the film. Wilder s career hit over sixty films for more than fifty
years. Samuel Billy Wilder was one of the greatest directors of all

The Pros And Cons Of The Unity Party
The Unity Party s activities largely died down throughout 2000 and Wong acted as a virtual
independent in the Legislative Council. After their failure to break into federal parliament in 2001,
the Unity Party largely shifted its attentions to local government, running a number of candidates
for local councils in largely non white areas, primarily in suburban Sydney. It did not run any
candidates in the 2004 federal electionbut Peter Wong continued to represent Unity in the NSW
Parliament, until the expiry of his term in March 2007. At the March 2007 NSW state election, lead
Unity Upper House candidate, Le Lam, won 1.2% of the vote , which was insufficient to gain
election. Consequently, Unity no longer holds seats in any Australian parliament.

Lawsuits involving ex members forced Hanson to repay approximately A$500,000 of public
funding won at the 1998 Queensland election amid claims that the party was fraudulently
registered. The first Annual General Meeting of the One Nation party was held in April 1999,
which critic Paul Reynolds said demonstrated that One Nation lacked organization (Rutherford
201). In October 2000, Hanson expelled Oldfield from the party. His expulsion created even more
instability in a party which was constantly embroiled in scandal and internal strife. Oldfield
engineered a split within the party, creating One Nation NSW, in 2001. The new party took
advantage of electoral party registration laws to register itself as a political party under the One
Nation name with the NSW electoral commission, and achieved registration in April 2002. This
meant that the original One Nation party was unable to gain registration for NSW elections.
Consequently, the original One Nation could only contest Federal elections in NSW under the One
Nation banner, whilst the Oldfield group could present itself as One Nation only at state

David Foster Wallace Speech Analysis
It will actually be within your power to experience a crowded, hot, slow, consumer hell type
situation as not only meaningful, but sacred, on fire with the same force that made the stars: love,
fellowship, the mystical oneness of all things deep down. Spoken by David Foster Wallace at the
2005 Kenyon graduationceremony. The purpose of his speech was to validate how important a
liberal artseducation is and how it will affect the rest of their lives.
David Foster Wallacetalks about how the commencement speakers should speak about why they
were chosen to give the speech. And why they are where they are basically how the college has
made them accomplish. Every graduation anyone has ever been too everyone always belittles the

The atheist tells him a story about one time he was dying and he decided to call out for god but
god never showed up a couple of eskimos dis, and that s one of the reasons why he doesn t
believe in god. David Foster wallace did not give this story to talk about religion or to put his
religious beliefs into it at all. David Foster Wallace was trying to explain how people establish
interpretations from the core by interpreting reality differently. Basically that we are so close
minded to so many ideas and forget to free our minds. The story showed how the Christian and
the Atheist were both equally closed minded because they both would not try to understand each
other s beliefs. And that a Liberal Arts Education is unique because it will teach you how to be
open minded, and open to all ideas. Or that A liberal arts education will make you be a at least a
little less close minded then the rest of the world because it will open your eyes to everything
around us even the smallest most obvious things that we did not notice

  • 2. The Rosewood Hotels Resorts The Rosewood Hotels Resorts is a private hotel management company founded in Dallas, Texas by Caroline Rose Hunt Trust Estate in 1979. The company had been adopting an individual branding positioning strategy, for which it managed a collection of hotels across continents under individual property names. This positioning strategy had helped differentiate Rosewood from corporate chain like competitors in the same industry. Prior to 2003, Rosewoods focused mainly on acquiring and renovating properties, building 12 unique and distinctive hotels globally. This strategy proved successful, despite the fact that the John Scott, the company s CEO and Robert Boulogne, the COO were concerned that the company was missing out the opportunity for potential growth in brand recognition. However, after 25 years of operation, in the year of 2004, the company encountered some business challenges that became barriers in raising brand awareness and customer retentions. Issue Statement Rosewood s individual brand strategy was consistent with their brand concept: A sense of Place , which was the underlying standards Rosewood capitalized upon when developing their properties. This concept implies that each hotel needed to be tailored in a way such that the unique features and characteristics of a specific location were emphasized and prominent, in respect of interior designs, services and amenities. This positioning strategy was sufficient to generating considerable revenues for the company, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Soils from a Cumberland Plain Woodland community were investigated to determine the presence of a soil seed bank; and whether species richness and abundance of plants germinating from it were affected by heating such as that experienced in a fire. In contrast both Control groups that were not subjected to any form of heat treatment but were still soaked in cold water did not show signs of germination at all within the 10 days time limit. Discussion: The results of the experiment demonstrate that if Acacia decurrens seeds are subjected to the heat treatment by placing the seeds in boiling water and leaving them in that same water for a period of 24 hours, then the rate at which the seeds germinate will be affected. It can be suggested that this increased germination rate occurs because the boiling water, by which the seeds were soaked in, breaks down the hard coating on the outside layer of the seed, thus allowing the seedling to penetrate through the coating and begin the germination process. At the time Buddhismmade some changes when the Great Vehicle system was introduced making Buddhism more a religion than a way of thinking. One of the way to bring people together is religion and that is what buddhism did. It provided a new vision to the people of China and something to believe in. In Ge Hong s autobiography it seemed that he was really laid back and didn t want to be given anything. Ge Hong s self virtuous ruled over his actions and his story is very similar to that of the Buddhist monks. Comparing him to Seng Baozhi, they both tried to gain knowledge at a young age and they have a similar story of walking around in the cold. Ge Hong says My clothes do not protect me from the cold... yet none of this causes me worry (Source,93) while in the passage about Seng Baozhi it is said that At one time Baozhi was walking in the cold without any upper garment (Source, 101). The Extent Of The Government Role Of The American Economy The Extent of the Government Role in the American Economy Nicolai Noordzy Northcentral Technical College The Extent of the Government Role in the American Economy The economy was one of the most pressing issues in the recent 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, which saw Republican businessman and celebrity Donald Trump closely elected over former Secretary of State and Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton. In many ways, the election can be seen as a backlash and conservative effort against the economic philosophies and policies of the two candidates and their parties, and on which candidate could better spur economic growth. The economy greatly affects all American lives, often without the people s direct say, but nonetheless influencing how easy it is to get a job, how quickly the prices of goods and services rise and fall in a market system, and how much money people can spend or save for the future. In the third to fourth fiscal quarters of the year 2008, a severe financial crisis began to loom over the global economy, resulting in further economic downturn for the United States. Millions of people lost their jobs, and millions more would not be able to find work thereafter. While the U.S. economy has improved since then, policy makers and both Trump and Clinton have argued endlessly over the best way to drive the economy successfully into the future. • 12. Autism Spectrum Disorder And The Childhood Autism Rating... Autism spectrum disorder is an umbrella term used in diagnosing a collection of developmental disorders of the brain that vary in severity1. People with ASD may have trouble with social interactions, problems with different types of communication, may practice repetitive actions or behaviors1,2, struggle with paying attention, and suffer from motor disfunctions1. ASD is usually diagnosed in children between the ages of 2 and 3, this early diagnosisis very beneficial because it leads to intervention which intern leads to more positive outcomes later in life1. ASD affects 1 in every 68 American children1 and is 4 5 times more common in boys than girls1. Prevalence of this disease is on the rise, with a 10 17% increases in cases per year1, which could be due to improved diagnostic methods, environmental factors, and other reasons that are unknown1. One well established diagnostic tool is the Childhood AutismRating Scale (CARS) which is 15 point rating scale3 used to diagnose children with ASD and determine its severity2. Another less accredited, but still informative diagnostic tool is the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC)2 which differs from the CARS because it is a parent rater form of measurment2. ASD has no cure, but there have been studies that show behavioral outbursts can be reduced with the use of certain movements and breathing techniques4. What makes up the surface of the skin is corneocytes, which are commonly called dead skin cells . Keratinocytes are found in the epidermis they travel up through the layer where they are formed into corneocytes. The stratum corneum layer protects against lights, chemicals, water loss, heat and bacteria. Stratum Lucidum is an additional layer of the skin, found only in the palms of our hands and the soles of our feet; it is a very shallow layer of just 3 clear layers of cells. Eledin is found in this layer, a protein rich clear gel like substance that helps give us strength, grip and also protection. Stratum Granulosum is another shallow layer; it is made up 3 to 5 layers of flat packed grainy cells called kertaohylain cells which act similar to a water filter, to absorb any foreign bodies. This eases water loss and keeps up hydration in the skin. Stratum Spinosum is formed from two to six rows of stretched cells; they have spiky spines that attach to nearby cells. In this layer there are two other key cells Langerhans cells and melanocyte cells. Langerhans capture and process any foreign bodies, they are then distributed to the lymph vessels followed by white blood cells, resulting the immune system activating. Essay about The Historical Significance of Puerto Rico The Historical Significance of Puerto Rico For most of its history, Puerto Rico has been controlled by an outside power, and its people oppressed. While Puerto Rico is currently a U.S. territory, Spanish colonialism has had a significant impact on the island s development and identity. The history of the island itself is proof of this fact, demonstrating each step Puerto Rico took to reach its current state. By examining the stages of Spanish control that Puerto Rico experienced, we can determine how each stage affected the structure and identity of Puerto Rico. However, both the Spanish oppression and this new development resulted in the development of a kind of counter culture among the peasant population of Puerto Rico. Forced into labor, the peasants developed a passive, evasive attitude toward Spanish control. • 17. A Contribution To The Critique Of Political Economy By... Karl Marx was an influential German philosopher who is widely known for his work on capitalism. Class was a notable social category for Marx; he discussed ruling class ideas and explained how a person s class was defined by their relation to the means of production. Specifically, in the Preface to A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy, Marx (1859) writes, In the social production of their existence, men inevitably enter into definite relations, which are independent of their will, namely relations of productionappropriate to a given stage in the development of their material forces of production (pg. 20). In this essay, I will be discussing what Marx means when he refers to the relations of production as independent of [men s] will, in that people enter into enforced, coercive relationships with owners of capital because of the economic systemwhich structures society. The class relations are built upon a base and a superstructure which in turn shape the structure of society and its means of production. Consequently, the forms of social consciousness of society are predetermined and dictated by the ruling classes as people must enter into these relationships in order to survive, thus creating a dialectical economic superstructure. Society abides by the social relations put in place between proletariats and the bourgeoisie due to the coercive nature of these relationships, autonomous of free choice. Though dominating the actions and choices of society, such coercive relationships with owners of capital are tolerated due to people s need for survival. People s need for survival results in the need to make money for their material existence, which includes food and shelter. Awareness of one s current economic system also contributes to the understanding of the established social order. However, due to their subordinated status, low income and low skilled jobs may be their only opportunity for survival. For instance, undergraduate university students are only armed with high school diplomas and few skills, but require earning a living to complete school to try and succeed within a capitalist society. The Supreme Court upheld the voluntary public financing of presidential election, which was considered a great step forward because taking public funds requires the candidate to limit their spending on the federal level. There is also the hard money in political campaigns, which is strictly regulated by law through the Federal Election Commission. Smaller interest groups and lobbyists are also getting their favors and paychecks. Because election laws are so crammed with exceptions these different groups can directly and openly support a candidate spending as much money as they would like. This loophole is referred to as independent expenditures. The Supreme Court cleared the way for smaller groups to work directly for or against a candidate, so long as the group does not coordinate its efforts with the candidate it supports. Although these expenditures tend to be a just a bit smaller then soft money funds, they are far more straightforward and blunt which proves to be even more effective (Anderson 2000). In my view, campaign finance has gone from something that could potentially help give the power of government back to the people to a complete joke. Purpose: A minimal contrast method to teaching phonological oppositions is a conceptual, rather than motoric, strategy to suppress phonological processes. This method was assessed for effectiveness in reducing the frequency of process use and generalization of treatment effect. Method: Two unintelligible 4 year old children were confronted with the miscommunication resulting from their misarticulation of a target word produced as another meaningful word. Four minimal pairs were trained for each targeted process: deletion of final consonants, stopping, and word initial fronting. Twenty four generalization probes of non treatment words were assessed for each targeted process. Results: Minimal pairs treatment procedure was effective in decreasing process use over a short period of time. Several sound production errors improved concomitantly. Subject A improved more rapidly than subject B. Generalization to probe words occurred gradually. Clinical Implications: Minimal contrast treatment is effective and efficient for treating children with phonological disability. Avoiding listener confusion is motivating for suppressing process use. In Valentine , Carol Ann Duffy uses metaphors to illustrate and attempt to explain the complex subject of love. Valentine is a very poignant, meaningful poem which is on a very personal level with C.A.D. It seems as if she is drawing on personal experiences. The general tone of the poem appears to be one of bitterness and resentment. Forceful comments such as, ...Here.. and ...Take it... suggest that she still holds hidden anger towards the events from which she is drawing her memories. The main metaphor that she uses is of course an onion. She uses an onion to compare the different aspects of love in a number of ways. In the first instance of C.A.D s use of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems more likely that she is portraying what many other women, not unlike her, would feel. Maybe she is trying to dissuade women or even men from feeling this or maybe she is merely making a statement. In the second stanza, Carol Ann Duffy reverts to a more forceful and cynical way of approaching love. The opening of it, ...Here... is especially forceful and the second line compares love to an onion once more. She says that love ...will blind you with tears like a lover... She uses the effects of an onion to relate the effects of love. Basically C.A.D is saying that love hurts. Although this is technically a clichГ©, I don t think that C.A.D means it as such she seems to be saying that anyone you may fall for will hurt you. In a way, she seems to be trying to deter people from falling in love. Also, an onion brings tears to a person s eyes which could be compared to people crying when they feel down or hurt. The onion is an ongoing theme throughout the poem. C.A.D states ... its fierce kiss will stay on your lips.. This time C.A.D uses the onion s taste to help describe the feeling of love. C.A.D has used all her senses to make her comparisons. In this particular line she compares an onion s strong taste which lingers in your mouth and a kiss which lingers on your lips and remains a memory. The lingering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Taking a Look at Conspiracy Theories In today s modern world it seems as if all major events have an official story, and another often less credible story pursued by doubters and sceptics of the government or the details in the story. These sceptics are more often than not referred to as conspiracy theorists. The issue that arises with these conspiracy theoriesis that while some sound over the top ridiculous, some have turned out to be all but true. For this reason, conspiracies are often controversial, they make serious issues into a fairytale, or a simple non serious event into a serious concerns. These theories are the result of paranoia regardless of their truth, they are often formed on assumptions, absence of information, and fear. For these reasons a conspiracy can be formed around nearly any situation, disaster or event. Conspiracy theories are not just a modern phenomenon either, and they can be found throughout human history, but with today s technology it has become easier than every to spread these ideas around. These ideas propagate due to the culture surrounding the world, and the fear individuals have of the unknown. Many people prefer elaborate stories over simple explanations, especially when they feel their government is behind the event. Misunderstanding, disbelief, denial, fear and human abilities and emotion play into why and how these conspiracy theories emerge. Theories based outside of definite fact, or the accepted explanation has been occurring as far back as history goes. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These concepts can often be categorized into two atmospheres: positive and negative. In The Old Masters and The Racer, Amit Chaudhuri and Hanif Kureishi convey their atmospheres through character relationships involving greed and symbolic ideas. Within The Old Masters, the reader is focused on the relationship between Pramathesh and Ranjit two colleagues who work together and their lives as time progresses. To start off, freedom of expression is the right to express one s ideas and opinions freely through speech, writing, and other forms of communication, but without deliberately causing harm to others character and/or reputation by false or misleading statements. There is no such thing as full freedom of expression. There are many articles and laws stating that a person has complete and utter freedom of expression, but they really do not. (An illustration showing that both men fighting have no freedom of expression, because they have invaded personal space and property .) The limits of expression are physically hurting someone or something, slandering, or breaking a law. To take a deeper perspective on this, if someone was to act in calumny about a different person, this could possibly limit their freedom of expression. If they were saying different statements to hurt or offend someone they have no freedom of expression. As well as if someone was to look at someone or touch someone in a lecherous way, their freedom of expression is gone, because they have violated someone else. Another case is if someone was to gibe at someone else and the person was hurt by the words or phrases, the person who committed the act would lose all of their freedom of expression. To conclude, if a person offends or invades personal space or property, they have and will lose all of their freedom of expression, the rights an individual has ends at the point when it affects another person. • 38. Speeches In The Revolutionary War Revolutionary Speeches The revolutionary war was a time well known in our history. We grew up learning that all the colonists were tired of the way Britain treated us, what they don t show at a young age is that not everyone wanted to fight. Not everyone believed that fighting the British was a good idea; some thought it was smart to stay loyal to the British for they had the biggest militia at this time. The only way to face something like that is through encouragement, inspiration, and the wise words from men who want to stand for what they believe in. Many men had the same ideas, this shows that the repetitive ideas were for emphasis and persuasions. Men like Thomas Paine, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Patrick Henry all gave speeches to encourage the people of America to stand up and fight for what s right. Not only did they sacrifice their careers, some also fought in the war. If someone was to lay their life on the line for something that had little to no survival rate, little to no people would do it. Very few men had the courage.
