Hemodialysis is a complex treatment that is comprised of multiple clinical practice processes that

Short Essay On A Car
A dozen years ago, I had this idea: a clear plastic enclosure and mounting brackets for your car so you
could change bumper stickers whenever you wanted, and not end up wallpapering your trunk with all
the important things you want to express. Yeah, I never went anywhere with that. But when an email
about Talelight showed up in my inbox, I was immediately excited. The digital age had finally caught
up with bumper stickers! It makes sense, of course, that display technology has advanced to the point
where this could work. And it s not to say that other folks haven t tried similar ideas in the past like
big fat LED screens mounted in rear windows. But the folks at Talelight really seem to have taken the
idea, and the safety concerns, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The process for getting stickers onto the device is easy, but not without some controls, again for
safety. You can purchase stickers on Talelight s online store, or design your own if you have the
graphics chops (which really isn t hard at all). You do have to go through a submit/approve process on
their website so they can be careful about trademarked or obscene images, but that usually takes
between 10 minutes and a couple hours, depending on the time of day. You can also put your own
stickers up for sale in their sticker store as a way to generate revenue. Once you have stickers in your
library on the Talelight website, you pick which ones you want on your device and schedule how they
ll display. Then, just go start up your car (the device only runs when the car is on), open the Talelight
app (iOS and Android), and sync. That s it! nd the device is pretty rugged. It s light enough that, with
the provided mounting tape, it really stays put, even with some rough driving. The port where the
USB power cable plugs in is tightly gasketed to prevent water intrusion; indeed, the Talelight folks
claim it s designed to IP 65 waterproof standards. The bottom line for me is that this is a very cool
gadget. I ve always loved the idea of bumper stickers, but I hesitated using them because I was loath
to either damage my car or be stuck (pun intended) with just one or two messages forever. This

The Beginning Of Expansion Of The Middle Class
Post World War II United States was a significant period of time when the lifestyle of American
people changed dramatically. Long period of economic booms brought mass suburbanization and
people purchased their own home appliances, houses, and automobiles. As a matter of fact, in the
background of the change of American lifestyle, there were repeated technological innovations.
Successful mass productions of goods accelerated buying activities, which promoted the economic
development in the United States. This was the beginning of expansion of the middle class; some
people get enough money to succeed in having a happy life in the United States with family. However,
when the status of family in a community was considered, proper management of money was
necessary to keep their lives. Handful choices of buying goods or products with satisfaction made
American Dream possible, but buying activities changed the social status of people for better or worse
at the same time.
As is well known, American Dream is an idea of success that can be gained by effort and sometimes
saving money. It generally requires having a good life as a middle class or higher class family who do
not struggle with financial problems. Certainly, being able to buy something that a person wants
represents that he/she is capable to be at least middle class whether or not they can buy then and there.
Purchasing something one needs and something one wants sounds similar, but they are different. The

Mayan Culture Essay
Maya, a beautiful, noble, mysterious name what kind of brilliant achievements have ever had? Even
the Maya predicted that the end of 2012 doomsday have caused panic around the world. However, it is
such a strong civilization that seems to have evaporated from this earth overnight. Let people have
deep curiosity on Mayan culture! Let us work together to understand more Maya it.
It is said that the Maya people started to construct religious buildings before the year 1000 AD. The
earliest relics consisted of simple earth mounds and later evolved into pyramids. Early Mayan culture
seemed to be influenced by earlier Olmec civilizations. After their civilization was spread to today s

The most prominent of these are the pyramids and royal palaces built in the religious center. Other
important archaeological remains are the carved slate, which are written in hieroglyphs to describe the

city in classical times, and even people call it Athens of America . Another famous city is Copan.
From the point of view of modern ruins, Tikal, Copan and Palenque can be regarded as the largest
three city states in the classical Mayan civilization. From the ninth century AD, the Mayan culture in
the classical era of the sudden sudden decline at the same time, the reason is still the subject of
historians. Between the 10th and the 11th centuries AD, the once flourishing Mayan cities were

Model Minority Stereotypes
Everyone feels pressured to excel in school, and this is especially true for Asian American students.
The stereotype that all Asians are smart is a common label that defines the model minority stereotype.
It consists of Asians being labeled as one group where they are all intelligent in the sense of being
naturally good at math, science, and technology, as well as being hard working, self reliant,
uncomplaining, and never in need of help from anyone ( Model Minority Stereotype ). This racial
stereotype has an adverse influence on college admissions, increases academic struggling, and raises
mental health issues. Although the model minority stereotype may seem positive because it portrays
Asian Americans as geniuses, it is actually quite harmful. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to college officials, Asian American college students state that they feel deeply pressured to
succeed. For example, Wai Kwong Wong, a counselor at Cornell University explains that he has
witnessed depressed students having difficulties coping on their own, which leaves them in a
predicament. Wong explains that students stop attending class because they are so overcome with
embarrassment over the fact that they do not have work to submit. Instead, they turn to avoidance
where they remain at home, hoping that they will be able to catch up; however, this fails to happen
because the students are too depressed. They fall further and further behind instead, reaching to the
extent where they completely shut down and hole themselves in their rooms. Imagine being so
consumed by anxiety and the pronounced, looming fear of embarrassment that it forces one to miss
class; it is truly terrible. Not only that, Wong elaborates that not many of these students tell their
families about their problems: They don t want their family to worry, or they don t think their family is
going to understand ( Depression ). These issues are significant because students cannot go to their
own family for help and support due to being overwrought with unbearable shame. Likewise, students
are clearly experiencing worrisome effects of this

The Importance Of Adolescent Privacy In The Media And...
Adolescent privacy is commonly invaded by parents that monitor their children s media content with
the intent to keep them on track. However, are these observations as helpful as the parents consider it?
A few articles and studies show that while it may be a cautious step from the parents to keep children
safe, the lack of privacy may emit many other emotions and pressures from adolescents that could
make the situations worse (Mullen 166 Padilla Walker et al. 1153). With the use of case studies and
articles, this essay will address the privacy concerns of adolescents and the importance of regulating
media content by parental monitoring. The term media should be taken in the context of television,
video games, social media, and the internet. I will argue that parental media monitoring can help
parents supervise their children, promote positive behaviour, and provide disciplined upbringing while
maintaining adolescences independence and aiding them to develop advanced practical skills that will
come in use in a media run world. Parental monitoring is one of the most useful techniques to
supervise children s media content in the effort to protect them from bad influences and wrong
decisions; although, the biggest drawback is that monitoring diminishes privacy for adolescents.
Supervision allows the parents or guardians to control and limit specific content that deems to be
inappropriate for their children, especially in today s generation; for example, adolescents may be

Essay on The Human Body in Ancient Greek Sculptures
The Human Body in Ancient Greek Sculptures
The primary focus of ancient Greek sculptures was that of the human body. Almost all Greek
sculptures are of nude subjects. As the first society to focus on nude subjects, Greek sculptors
attempted to depict man in what they believed was the image of the gods and so would come to
celebrate the body by striving for verisimilitude or true likeness (realism and naturalism!). (Riffert)
Not only did the Greeks celebrate the human form in their art but also in everyday life. (Riffert) One
of the favorite topics for sculptors was that of the athlete. In Greek culture athletes were described as
hero athletes . (Riffert) This shows that athletes were revered and looked upon as heroes. The

Greeks were constantly in search of the Ideal (Riffert). Their Ideal was a body capable of enduring all
efforts, either of the racecourse or of bodily strength...this is why the athletes in the pentathlon are the
most beautiful. (Tufts) This description of the Ideal person given by Aristotle reflects the attitude of
the majority of ancient Greeks. People were not judged solely on their minds but rather strong
emphasis was given to the body. This emphasis given to the body was given to the nude body. It is
understandable that we question why nude art was so accepted by the Greeks, as they were the
pioneers in this field. The answer lies in the everyday life of the people. It was commonplace for
Greek men to exercise, go to war, and generally go about their daily business in the nude or scantly
clothed (Boardman 276).
While male nudity was straightforward and hiding nothing, female nudity was more reserved. In the
first fully nude female sculpture, Aphrodite of Knidos by Praxitales c. 350 340bc., the feminine
principle (is invented) which as a demure pose where the knees are brought together and sometimes
the hand is discreetly before the genitals (Riffert). This reference shows that in art as in life, women
are depicted as less than equal to their bold male counterparts. Usually female statues were either
draped in some way or

A Reflection On My Values Speech
By reflecting upon my Values Speech, I will be more aware of what skills I have already accomplished
and what skills I need to improve on in order to prepare myself better for the next big speech as well
as to further improve my public speaking skills. Now that I look back at the recording of my
presentation, I clearly saw strengths that were shown, but there were also weaknesses that I revealed,
diminishing the overall powerful effect that my speech should have gave. As I watched Amy Cuddy s
TED talk called Your body language shapes who you are , I learned more about body language and
what I should ve done when I presented my Values Speech. Throughout my reflection, I will discuss
my strengths that I portrayed during my speech such as pacing and eye contact as well as the
limitations, for instance, stuttering and abruptly finishing my sentences, and then I will finish off my
reflection with the levels of confidence and body language I portrayed.
First off, there were many strengths that I believed were demonstrated within my Values Speech such
as pacing and eye contact with my fellow classmates, but despite the strengths that were seen, the
weaknesses of stuttering and finishing sentences abruptly created a weak feeling at the end of my
presentation. As I watched the recording of my presentation on repeat, I noticed that my pacing was
very well executed. I didn t speak too fast nor did I speak too slow, which is good because my
classmates were able to follow along with what I was saying. Not only that, but I also provided eye
contact to my classmates, showing that I was well prepared and did not need to read my note cards as
much. Of course, with strengths, there were also weaknesses portrayed. I often stuttered at a couple of
phrases because of my anxiety and I would also finish some of my sentences abruptly, leaving a poor
execution. I realized that once I began saying a certain sentence and mess up mid way through, I
would end the sentence with words that wouldn t be as clear. Now knowing my weaknesses and
strengths, I will better prepare myself for my next upcoming speech by practicing my speeches with
more word choices when I say it verbally, allowing myself to become more aware of the variety of

Propaganda Techniques Of Today s Advertising By Ann...
In Propaganda Techniques in Today s Advertising by Ann McClintock, the author discusses how
Americans are being brainwashed by advertisements and the different techniques they use to catch our
attention. Ads are simply everywhere we look, it is impossible to get through the day without seeing
one. All advertising companies put tons of research into how consumers spend money or even vote.
Once these companies finish their research, they create advertisements that appeal to the masses. The
basic propaganda techniques that McClintock writes about are Name Calling, Glittering Generalities,
Transfer, Testimonial, Plain Folks, Card Stacking, and Bandwagon. Each one of these propaganda
techniques is used in specific ways by advertisers to sell their product or service to consumers. I have
selected a political ad which uses the Glittering Generalities technique, a coffee ad that uses Transfer
technique, a soda ad that uses the Testimonial technique, and a soup ad that uses the Name Calling
technique.
First, the political ad I choose used the Glittering Generalities technique in which the Donald Trump
used a certain slogan in hopes to sway voters. In this ad Mr. Trump is telling potential voters that a
vote for him is a vote to take back our country. The phrase used is vague and may not mean the same
to you as it does to me. McClintock states, The ads for politicians and political causes often use
glittering generalities because such buzzwords can influence votes (698).

Why Did White Southerners Support Slavery
In 1860 there was about four million African Americans living in the south and out of those four
million there was only 260,000 of freed African Americans. Slaves lived a hard and cruel life day in
and day out. Living a life where white southerners were their masters and controlled every aspect of
their lives, from what they had to do through out the day, if they can marry, they could not have
authority over their children, if they would be able to have an intact family and before they taught
about doing anything they had to think abut the consequences that would come with it and these are
just a few examples of the many horrible things they had to go through, put in simple words slaves

about eighty percent of them owned their own land. Most of the farmers would raise hogs, corn, some

farmers did not have money, they were able to gain the respect of planters by their dignity and pride

Why Do People Choose To Be Evil
To Choose to be Evil Every day people makes choices, they can be good or bad. These choices are
what define peoples morals. There is always evil and temptation surrounding mankind. The line
dividing good and evil is more blurred than ever with new temptations coming into play. Even more
now that society is advancing into the future. Mankind chooses to be evil. They are not born that way,
but the choices they make are what defines their morals. Throughout history there have been cases that
have proven the statement people aren t born evil; evil is made. These cases include the Oklahoma

first event proving the evil of mankind is The Oklahoma City Bombing. This bombing was a tragedy
that happened on April 19,1995. The bombing was caused by Timothy McVeigh. Mr. McVeigh had a

A Retrieved Reformation By O Henry Summary
The short story A Retrieved Reformation, written by O. Henry, takes place mostly in Elmore,
Arkansas. It starts off focusing on Jimmy Valentine, convicted felon, as he gets out of jail and decides
to get back into his old habit of safe cracking. However, when he arrives into the town where the bank
he s targeted lies, he falls in love with Annabel Adams, the banker s daughter. He became a new man,
by the name of Ralph D.Spencer, and then they got married and started a family. Unfortunately, in the
end of the story, he transformed back into Jimmy to save his daughter from dying. This story is an
example of how loving and caring for others brings out the best in people. When elite safecracker
Jimmy Valentine arrived in Elmore, he had nobody in his life worth staying in one place for. He had
never met someone to fall in love with, until he saw, ironically, the banker s daughter. A young lady
crossed the street, passed him at the corner and entered a door over which was the sign, The Elmore
Bank. Jimmy Valentine looked into her eyes, forgot what he was, and became another man. Jimmy
was in love at first sight, and he was so excited because now there is someone in his life worth
sticking around for. He doesn t have to run away anymore. He changed because he didn t want to live
on the run, he wanted to be able to stay with the person he loved.
Another detail that proves Jimmy was changed by his love for Annabel is the metaphoric scene that
shows him change into a

Essay on My Definition of Success
In his poem, What is Success, Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote: To laugh
often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the
appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the
best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed
social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have
succeeded. Emerson s quote provides a paradigm of success a model to be admired and strived for.

It s not surprising, then, that I want an exceptional career. And I m not special in that regard. Most
students share my goal. After several semesters being surrounded by smart, ambitious Business School
students, I ve noticed that there are striking differences in the ways people define an exceptional
career. And the way people define success can have a big impact, not only on decisions about their
first jobs, but also how much they achieve and happy they are in their careers. As it is commonly used,
the word success is sometimes synonymous with another word winning. Success is beating the other
guy and getting the big salary. Success is what happens when other people think you re a success or
when you can convince them of it. As a junior, I attended a recruiting event for the Boston Consulting

for what Edward does in his life, because what he does is full of sin such as detention, killing, secrets,
mistrust, but he sacrifices his life for his country and does more to his country than millions of people

Beneath Clouds Analysis

Beneath clouds Growing up Asian in Australia
Identity
Beneath Clouds directed by Ivan Sen and Baked Beans and Burnt Toast written by Jacqui Larkin both
explore the theme identity in the four main characters, Peter, Jacqui, Lena and Vaughn. Ivan Sen uses
mise en scène, dialogue, setting and symbolism when directing to stoutly portray the identity of Lena
and Vaughn. Correspondingly Jacqui Larkin scrutinizes identity primarily through dialogue,
metaphors, hyperbole and imagery in order to emphasise the problems Jacqui faces with identity.
Seemingly both Sen and Jacqui both explore Identity but in similar and distinctive ways to make the
audience ponder about how the main characters are feeling relating to their identity throughout the
film and book.
Paragraph 2:
In Beneath Clouds and Baked Beans Burnt Toast they both show the main theme identity through
community. In the film the main characters Lena and Vaughn live in a small country town which is
full of Indigenous people and white people. Vaughn lives in the stereotypical life as an Aboriginal. The
cops treat Vaughn like he is a speck of dust, they call him boy to downgrade him and his race. The
white people think of Aboriginals as people with low self esteem and all they do is drink alcohol and
abuse their wives. They believe that Aboriginals are uneducated. The white people do not treat the
Aboriginals in the same way as their own race. This is also displayed in Baked Beans and Burnt Toast

Stealing in the Workplace Essay
Blu Silberhorn Issue Paper Case Studies in Ethics and Law November, 08 2009 Is stealing becoming
more acceptable in the workplace? Generally, when people think of stealing or theft they are referring
to the act of physically taking property from someone else. In reality there are many different ways
that an employee can steal from an organization, and I have seen three different ways in my short
career. The basic definition of theft is the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or
property of another, and this is one way in which people can take away from an organization. The
most common way for people to steal from an organization is theft of time, and this includes; taking
extra time on breaks and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normally, we would work through tasks as they appeared on the list which allowed us to have
different jobs every night, so this wasn t routine for this employee. This is completely wrong in many
different ways, because not only was the employee stealing the product, he was also not old enough to
purchase or drink alcohol. Since, I was the person put in charge of the store that night I had to decide
what to do in this particular situation. There are a few different ways to handle this situation. I could
have called the police and let them handle it, but to my knowledge this was the employee s first time
stealing anything from the store. I don t think the employee needed to be fined or charged for making
a small mistake. I think that most people would have told upper management and let them handle the
punishment, but this was a good employee and I didn t want to look like that bad guy. I confronted the
employee about the issue and explained that it is not right to stealing from the store. I explained that
he was putting me in a tough position, but I wasn t going to tell management unless it happens again. I
don t think that he ever tried to steal anything after that night. Being upfront with him and letting him
know what the consequences would be got my message across. Theft is a big problem in retail
locations; in my case there are only a few people that are working in a large store, so it

Veterans who have been deployed to combat and endured trauma display higher levels of emotional
distress and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Yarvis, 2013). Moreover, the exposure to traumatic

problems (Briere Scott, 2012). The VA offers a vast majority of mental health services, however there
are particular interventions that are not offered because there aren t enough medical practitioners

Comparing Rene Descartes And Immanuel Kant
Religion vs. reason
It is hard to believe that somehow a planet fell into orbit at the perfect place, and time within a galaxy
to cause an entire ecosystem to grow on it. Planet earth is just warm enough to sustain life, it holds air
and water neatly within that atmosphere, and provides a home for intelligent life. Whether it is all
coincidence, or the product of an almighty creator is the question. From that question, comes other
questions. Religion is the answer. The answer to every question that the human race has ever conjured
and could not explain has been written down and credited to a higher power. Things that people have
no way to answer ourselves. There cannot be intelligence without curiosity.

Both of these great philosophers believed that humans are born with what Kant named innate
principles. Innatism is an epistemological doctrine that infers that the mind is not a blank slate to
begin with. Most knowledge is achieved through the senses, but is there something else? Kant
believed that there in fact was, and so did Descartes. Kant did not specify that this knowledge has
from birth was in fact that of God like Descartes did, but he implied it. Kant defined such as priori
knowledge and compared it to that of mathematics. The concept of mathematics he considers to be
necessary and universal knowledge that one has independent from the posteriori knowledge. Posteriori
knowledge, being the opposite of priori knowledge, is knowledge acquired through experience. One
could go as far as to say that he agrees with Descartes by saying that humans are in fact born with
preexisting knowledge.
To elaborate on the subject, Descartes continues with this idea. If he were created by a less than
perfect being, then that would make his creator a finite being. If this is true, and he was created by
such, then how did the idea of an infinite being come to be? How is it that his parents know of God,
and their parents before that? Descartes believes that mankind is incapable of creating this idea of
God, and that the idea of God could only originate from God because he is

The Law And Law Code
I know that people deserve the right to defend themselves in court, however a person cannot
adequately defend themselves unless they are very familiar with the law. This is precisely the reason
why lawyers exist. The law is very complex, so rather than forcing someone to go to law school for
ten years, we have them hire lawyers to help them with the law. Basically, the average person does not
know law enough to successfully defend himself or herself in court. I know that the law code is
extensive. It would take a very long time to get through it even if you read constantly. II. Why am I
interested: I can t really remember when I became fascinated in the field of law and order. It was
probably immediately after I started watching the show, you guessed it, Law and Order. I became so
interested with the court, the jury, the judge, but I found the lawyer to be the most interesting position
of them all. Whenever my parents found me not telling the truth, or misbehaving, I would play pretend
and respond to my parents with something along the lines of: I plead guilty, your honor. I used to look
back on it as something humorous and something I didn t seriously want to do. Although, now I can
see clearly that it was one of the most serious of jobs, with huge competition and challenge. The task
of the defense lawyer is making sure the prosecution proves guilt beyond reasonable doubt. It seems to
be one of the noblest things a human can do. I would also certainly like to find

Kant s Views On Freedom Essay
In the following paper, I will outline how my understanding of freedom has changed since reading
Immanuel Kant s An Answer to the Question: What is Enlightenment? Firstly, I will state the views
that I held on freedom before I read the text, framing them within a political context by labelling
myself as a civil libertarian and explaining what that means. Subsequently, I will provide my
interpretation of Kant s views on freedom through the positive and negative senses and how, for Kant,
that there ought to be a distinction between the public and private use of reason, as it constitutes a
necessary limit on freedom in order to foster enlightenment. Then, I will outline how Kant s views on
freedom have changed my understanding of freedom, stating that they have only strengthened it,
though it has taken on a new degree of nuance as I agree that there ought to be such a distinction
between the two uses of reason. I will also disagree with Kant by arguing that the citizenry must have
the right to dissolve an authoritarian government, as it is necessary to preserve enlightenment. Finally,
I will highlight a paradox that presents itself in Kant s writings, highlighting it through the
contemporary example of Edward Snowden s disruptive usage of his public reason. Prior to reading
the text, my views on freedom were framed around my experience with regards to paying attention to
politics. I have always fancied fashioning my own viewpoints on a slew of topics, and freedom is

Throughout my career at Robert Bosch, I have been exposed to functionality of products like Anti
Lock Braking Systems, Electronic Stability Program, Airbags and other Electronic Control Units. The
fact that an average car has 60 different embedded units performing various functions, sharing
information over networks like CAN or FLEXRAY, has always amazed me. This exposure has
inculcated a passion in me to gain more knowledge in the design and development of embedded
systems. I completed my undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics. I was motivated to
choose this field of study due to a previous attempt at implementing a cell phone controlled robot that
worked on decoding DTMF signals. The choice paid off when after gaining some knowledge about
microcontrollers in my first year, I managed to get the robot up and running. The satisfaction gained

Diffusion restriction in Fulminant Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis: Report of a new finding.
Introduction: Subacute SclerosingPanencephalitis(SSPE) is a fatal form of progressive encephalitis
caused by abnormal persistence of measles virus infection in central nervous system(ref).SSPE usually
occurs in young children and adolescents; however it is also known to affect adults and pregnant
women(ref). The clinical picture is characterized by behaviour abnormalities, cognitive decline,
myoclonic epilepsy and seizures(ref). Diagnosis of SSPE is dependent upon a combination of clinical
features, characteristic EEG abnormalities and elevated antimeasles antibody titre in serum and
CSF(ref).Brain biopsy is needed for diagnosis in early stages of disease in absence of clinical and
EEG abnormalities.MRI findings in SSPE have been described in various previous studies (ref). Most
of the available studies in literature have shown increased diffusion in the involved areas (ref). We
report a case of fulminant SSPE which showed atypical findings on diffusion weighted sequence on
serial imaging. Case report: A 15 year old girl presented to our Institute with 5 months history of
slowly progressive cognitive decline characterized by behavioural changes, slowing of daily activities
and deterioration of her handwriting. She also had intermittent, involuntary jerky movements of head

A Perfect Day For Bananfish By Jerome Salinger
The short story, A Perfect Day for Bananfish written by Jerome Salinger in 1948, is based on the idea
of how people change through war. The main character, Seymour, has just gotten out of the military
and is on vacation with his wife in Florida. Through his wife s conversations, it is made apparent that
Seymour has developed mental issues since returning home and these issues are shown through
Seymour s longing for isolation throughout the story. The unusual part of this fictional tale is the fact
that many aspects of Seymour s life reflect the authors. A Perfect Day for Bananafish does not just
inform the audience of the severity of an unknown mental illness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or
PTSD, but it almost acts as Salinger s way to express his true emotion about life. PTSD is a mental
illness that affects many men and women leaving war. It usually occurs in someone who has
experienced a shocking, scary or dangerous event; i.e. war. Most of the time PTSD is a recurring
illness that involves having bad dreams, flashbacks, and cognitive and mood symptoms. This mental
illness can have serious effect on ones personality for the rest of their life. People who suffer from
PTSD typically have negative thoughts about the world around them and have a loss of interest in the
enjoyable activities. Currently there are many treatments for PTSD like medications and
psychotherapy. Treatment for PTSD differs depending on the person and the severity of their illness
(NIMH).

Labor Unions And Its Effect On Income Inequality
LABOR UNIONS With many laws enacted to tarnish their effectiveness in the appearance of a better
functioning economy, labor unions appear to have an unmistakable effect on income inequality.
Western and Rosenfeld explain the power of the labor union and how important of a role it holds for
its workers. Western and Rosenfeld analyzes the contributions that unions made and the consequences
of their decline coupled with the rise in unfair wage distribution. Kristal supports that the lack of
bargaining ability hinders the effectiveness that unions used to have and this event is the result of
computer technology damaging the laborers ability to appear useful and necessary in the eyes of the
capitalists. Union Influence While government policies are a part of Volscho and Kelly s research,
they recognize that other factors affect income inequality. Strong labor unions are capable of reducing
income inequality that is brought on by the decisions made in the market. The stronger a union is, the
more bargaining power they possess so that they are able to fight for better pay and a more equal
distribution of income. Western and Rosenfeld agree with this statement as their research pertains
more on labor unions and their relationship with income inequality. During the 1970 s, labor unions
were at their strongest, with as many as one in three people working in a union. From the 1980 s to
currently, not only has labor union membership decreased to single digits, but wage inequality has

Pros And Cons Of Adolf Hitler
Hitler persuaded many German citizens. He made them think that the Jews were bad people and

Germans, made them act horribly and inhumane towards Jews, and feared the Jews forever. How did
Hitler persuade the German people and government to construct a legal system or mass murder? To

Reversal Of Revenge In Medea
Throughout the play we see a rising culmination of emotions of anger and hate to the point where
there is an anticlimactic resolution when Medea gets revenge on Jason. If Aristotle were to comment
on this so called tragedy that Euripedes wrote, he would mention that this play does not contain the
complexity and quality that a tragedy most definitely needs. According to Aristotle, the most
important part of a tragedy is its plot or as Aristotle puts it, the imitation of an action or mimesis.
Aristotle also states that in making a tragedy, three things must lead one after the other in a successive
way; reversal of intention (peripetiea), recognition (anagnorisis) and the cleansing of pity and fear
(catharsis). Euripedes fails to make Medea a tragedy as he does not include these main elements such
as hermatia, peripeteia, anagnorisis and catharsis that Aristotle says make a tragedy successful.
Euripedes ultimately fails to make a very complex play.
The peripeteia or the reversal of intention, which according to Aristotle is the first element that should
come in a tragedy, in Medea is absent or seldom occurs in the play as Medea is well determined in her
motives from the very beginning to take revenge on Jason. From the very beginning of the play where

again get revenge because of her love and passion for Jason. But from this point on, Medea s plan

Macbeth Character Analysis Essay
Throughout the course of Shakespeare s Scottish tragedy, Macbeth , the eponymous hero develops

Scotland, and condemned by all. By making the fatal error of disregarding his conscience and
committing regicide in order to gain the crown of Scotland, he seals his own eternal fate and that of
Scotland, making her the grave of her people. In the opening scenes of the play, Shakespeare

treachery. The dichotomy of Macbeth s nature is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the soliloquy, the audience gains insight into Macbeth s innermost thoughts. He names
multiple reasons as to why he should not kill King Duncan, noting that Duncan is his guest, kinsman
and a good king. He also admits that the only motive he has is the Vaulting ambition residing inside of
him. Here he names his own hamartia, his fatal flaw, and acknowledges that to give in and commit
such a deed, would result in his deep damnation . While still undecided on the matter, Lady Macbeth
enters, and, seeing his indecision she decides to manipulate him into the decision that suits her; for
after all, she is almost if not as ambitious as her husband. By questioning his manhood, his bravery,
even their marriage, she successfully leads him to make the choice to kill the king. We now must
realise that although the witches prophecies and Lady Macbeth s taunts were a catalyst for Macbeth s
treachery, they never force him to make these errors in judgement; it must have been something that
was already inside of him that caused him to decide this. There must have been some inherent evil
already a part of his character. After killing the king, Macbeth is seen to be embracing evil over and

The Effect Of Relaxation And Guided Imagery On Knee...
Page (2012) stated that the importance and purpose of research is to answer an enquiry or define a

Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest
Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest One of the most controversial areas associated with the global
problem of deforestation is the Pacific Northwest of the US. The problem can be broken down into
several issues that all tie in together. These include the near extinction of the Northern Spotted Owl,
the business aspect of logging versus the environmental aspect, and the role of the government in this
problem. In 1973, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was passed. This enabled the Dept. of
Commerce and Dept. of the Interior to place species, either land or marine, as either threatened or

Guest speaker Jerry Howe would fall into this category as a private land owner. As a land steward, he
believes he can do what he wants with his land. The term steward is used to mean that no one can
truly own the land, it can only be used or under the care of a person. He uses clear cutting when it has
the smallest effect on the environment, he also uses strip cutting in which the forest is cut in strips to
provide a buffer zone and is more aesthetically pleasing. His methods are better for the forest due to
conservative forestry practices that speed up the regeneration of the forest. This produces a more
sustainable yield than clear cutting alone. While neither of these techniques is good for the
environment, using wise management practices can still produce a large profit while conserving
precious ecosystems. For large companies, such as Pacific Lumber, to switch to using conservative
forestry practices would take more than proposals by environmentalists and the Forest Service to help
the environment to change their current ways. For these companies to switch, it would cost them
money to follow the more sustainable approach while also decreasing their profit due to less tree
cutting in the short term. In my opinion, it is up to the government to set standards that force these
companies to switch by making regulations more strict as well as a greater number of them if need be.

Analysis Of The LEGO Ninjago Movie
At one time, Everything (Was) Awesome!!! Remember that? The genius 2 minute earworm of a song
that The Lonely Island and Tegan Sara took all the way to the Oscars as an Original Song nominee?
The beauty of framing your film around an absurd, empty, but undeniably catchy song is that the
movie matched the pace of the song. Hearing it, we laugh, instantly tap our feet, and directors Phil
Lord Christopher Miller established a cadence with which their film could bounce to. If The LEGO
Movie established rhythm among the hundreds of comedic puns, jokes, and visual sight gags, it also
retained a fearlessness about it that was absolutely invigorating. Voiceover cameos and LEGO inspired
creations of dozens of famous people carried the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understandable sure, but Lloyd has five other ninja skilled friends, which is not really a common trait
for kids who are mocked and bullied everyday at school. But I digress. Buoyed by nine different
individuals credited on the screenplay (NINE!), the movie stumbles around trying to recreate the
magic of the prior movies. The returns are middling at best, though one villain who arrives midway
through the film is hilarious, and rather cleverly crashes the real world into the plastic and synthetic
world these characters inhabit. Additionally, the movie employs a strong list of talented performers
and relegates them to minimal, or nominal, character development and dialogue. Since the movie is
primarily tied to the story of Lloyd and his megalomaniac father, and features Jackie Chan as a LEGO
sensei who mentors the teenage ninjas, and serves as the wise old man who tells a young child about
the story we are preparing to see, there isn t much room left for anyone else. And so Kumail Nanjiani,
Michael Pena, Abbi Jacobson, Zach Woods, and Fred Armisen may fill out the card of additional ninja
team members, but because the movie has no interest in letting their characters have space to mean
anything, The LEGO Ninjago Movie folks seem to have hired them for name on poster recognition, as
opposed to anything memorable or significant. Though this may all feel like a harsh critique, there are

  • 3. Short Essay On A Car A dozen years ago, I had this idea: a clear plastic enclosure and mounting brackets for your car so you could change bumper stickers whenever you wanted, and not end up wallpapering your trunk with all the important things you want to express. Yeah, I never went anywhere with that. But when an email about Talelight showed up in my inbox, I was immediately excited. The digital age had finally caught up with bumper stickers! It makes sense, of course, that display technology has advanced to the point where this could work. And it s not to say that other folks haven t tried similar ideas in the past like big fat LED screens mounted in rear windows. But the folks at Talelight really seem to have taken the idea, and the safety concerns, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The process for getting stickers onto the device is easy, but not without some controls, again for safety. You can purchase stickers on Talelight s online store, or design your own if you have the graphics chops (which really isn t hard at all). You do have to go through a submit/approve process on their website so they can be careful about trademarked or obscene images, but that usually takes between 10 minutes and a couple hours, depending on the time of day. You can also put your own stickers up for sale in their sticker store as a way to generate revenue. Once you have stickers in your library on the Talelight website, you pick which ones you want on your device and schedule how they ll display. Then, just go start up your car (the device only runs when the car is on), open the Talelight app (iOS and Android), and sync. That s it! nd the device is pretty rugged. It s light enough that, with the provided mounting tape, it really stays put, even with some rough driving. The port where the USB power cable plugs in is tightly gasketed to prevent water intrusion; indeed, the Talelight folks claim it s designed to IP 65 waterproof standards. The bottom line for me is that this is a very cool gadget. I ve always loved the idea of bumper stickers, but I hesitated using them because I was loath to either damage my car or be stuck (pun intended) with just one or two messages forever. This ... • 5. The Beginning Of Expansion Of The Middle Class Post World War II United States was a significant period of time when the lifestyle of American people changed dramatically. Long period of economic booms brought mass suburbanization and people purchased their own home appliances, houses, and automobiles. As a matter of fact, in the background of the change of American lifestyle, there were repeated technological innovations. Successful mass productions of goods accelerated buying activities, which promoted the economic development in the United States. This was the beginning of expansion of the middle class; some people get enough money to succeed in having a happy life in the United States with family. However, when the status of family in a community was considered, proper management of money was necessary to keep their lives. Handful choices of buying goods or products with satisfaction made American Dream possible, but buying activities changed the social status of people for better or worse at the same time. As is well known, American Dream is an idea of success that can be gained by effort and sometimes saving money. It generally requires having a good life as a middle class or higher class family who do not struggle with financial problems. Certainly, being able to buy something that a person wants represents that he/she is capable to be at least middle class whether or not they can buy then and there. Purchasing something one needs and something one wants sounds similar, but they are different. The economic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The stereotype that all Asians are smart is a common label that defines the model minority stereotype. It consists of Asians being labeled as one group where they are all intelligent in the sense of being naturally good at math, science, and technology, as well as being hard working, self reliant, uncomplaining, and never in need of help from anyone ( Model Minority Stereotype ). This racial stereotype has an adverse influence on college admissions, increases academic struggling, and raises mental health issues. According to college officials, Asian American college students state that they feel deeply pressured to succeed. For example, Wai Kwong Wong, a counselor at Cornell University explains that he has witnessed depressed students having difficulties coping on their own, which leaves them in a predicament. Wong explains that students stop attending class because they are so overcome with embarrassment over the fact that they do not have work to submit. Instead, they turn to avoidance where they remain at home, hoping that they will be able to catch up; however, this fails to happen because the students are too depressed. They fall further and further behind instead, reaching to the extent where they completely shut down and hole themselves in their rooms. Imagine being so consumed by anxiety and the pronounced, looming fear of embarrassment that it forces one to miss class; it is truly terrible. Not only that, Wong elaborates that not many of these students tell their families about their problems: They don t want their family to worry, or they don t think their family is going to understand ( Depression ). These issues are significant because students cannot go to their own family for help and support due to being overwrought with unbearable shame. • 9. The Importance Of Adolescent Privacy In The Media And... Adolescent privacy is commonly invaded by parents that monitor their children s media content with the intent to keep them on track. However, are these observations as helpful as the parents consider it? A few articles and studies show that while it may be a cautious step from the parents to keep children safe, the lack of privacy may emit many other emotions and pressures from adolescents that could make the situations worse (Mullen 166 Padilla Walker et al. 1153). With the use of case studies and articles, this essay will address the privacy concerns of adolescents and the importance of regulating media content by parental monitoring. The term media should be taken in the context of television, video games, social media, and the internet. I will argue that parental media monitoring can help parents supervise their children, promote positive behaviour, and provide disciplined upbringing while maintaining adolescences independence and aiding them to develop advanced practical skills that will come in use in a media run world. Parental monitoring is one of the most useful techniques to supervise children s media content in the effort to protect them from bad influences and wrong decisions; although, the biggest drawback is that monitoring diminishes privacy for adolescents. Supervision allows the parents or guardians to control and limit specific content that deems to be inappropriate for their children, especially in today s generation; for example, adolescents may be ... • 10. Essay on The Human Body in Ancient Greek Sculptures The Human Body in Ancient Greek Sculptures The primary focus of ancient Greek sculptures was that of the human body. Almost all Greek sculptures are of nude subjects. As the first society to focus on nude subjects, Greek sculptors attempted to depict man in what they believed was the image of the gods and so would come to celebrate the body by striving for verisimilitude or true likeness (realism and naturalism!). (Riffert) Not only did the Greeks celebrate the human form in their art but also in everyday life. (Riffert) One of the favorite topics for sculptors was that of the athlete. In Greek culture athletes were described as hero athletes . (Riffert) This shows that athletes were revered and looked upon as heroes. The influence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Greeks were constantly in search of the Ideal (Riffert). Their Ideal was a body capable of enduring all efforts, either of the racecourse or of bodily strength...this is why the athletes in the pentathlon are the most beautiful. (Tufts) This description of the Ideal person given by Aristotle reflects the attitude of the majority of ancient Greeks. People were not judged solely on their minds but rather strong emphasis was given to the body. This emphasis given to the body was given to the nude body. It is understandable that we question why nude art was so accepted by the Greeks, as they were the pioneers in this field. The answer lies in the everyday life of the people. It was commonplace for Greek men to exercise, go to war, and generally go about their daily business in the nude or scantly clothed (Boardman 276). While male nudity was straightforward and hiding nothing, female nudity was more reserved. In the first fully nude female sculpture, Aphrodite of Knidos by Praxitales c. 350 340bc., the feminine principle (is invented) which as a demure pose where the knees are brought together and sometimes the hand is discreetly before the genitals (Riffert). • 11. A Reflection On My Values Speech By reflecting upon my Values Speech, I will be more aware of what skills I have already accomplished and what skills I need to improve on in order to prepare myself better for the next big speech as well as to further improve my public speaking skills. Now that I look back at the recording of my presentation, I clearly saw strengths that were shown, but there were also weaknesses that I revealed, diminishing the overall powerful effect that my speech should have gave. As I watched Amy Cuddy s TED talk called Your body language shapes who you are , I learned more about body language and what I should ve done when I presented my Values Speech. Throughout my reflection, I will discuss my strengths that I portrayed during my speech such as pacing and eye contact as well as the limitations, for instance, stuttering and abruptly finishing my sentences, and then I will finish off my reflection with the levels of confidence and body language I portrayed. First off, there were many strengths that I believed were demonstrated within my Values Speech such as pacing and eye contact with my fellow classmates, but despite the strengths that were seen, the weaknesses of stuttering and finishing sentences abruptly created a weak feeling at the end of my presentation. As I watched the recording of my presentation on repeat, I noticed that my pacing was very well executed. I didn t speak too fast nor did I speak too slow, which is good because my classmates were able to follow along with what I was saying. Not only that, but I also provided eye contact to my classmates, showing that I was well prepared and did not need to read my note cards as much. Of course, with strengths, there were also weaknesses portrayed. I often stuttered at a couple of phrases because of my anxiety and I would also finish some of my sentences abruptly, leaving a poor execution. I realized that once I began saying a certain sentence and mess up mid way through, I would end the sentence with words that wouldn t be as clear. Now knowing my weaknesses and strengths, I will better prepare myself for my next upcoming speech by practicing my speeches with more word choices when I say it verbally, allowing myself to become more aware of the variety of ... • 12. Propaganda Techniques Of Today s Advertising By Ann... In Propaganda Techniques in Today s Advertising by Ann McClintock, the author discusses how Americans are being brainwashed by advertisements and the different techniques they use to catch our attention. Ads are simply everywhere we look, it is impossible to get through the day without seeing one. All advertising companies put tons of research into how consumers spend money or even vote. Once these companies finish their research, they create advertisements that appeal to the masses. The basic propaganda techniques that McClintock writes about are Name Calling, Glittering Generalities, Transfer, Testimonial, Plain Folks, Card Stacking, and Bandwagon. Each one of these propaganda techniques is used in specific ways by advertisers to sell their product or service to consumers. I have selected a political ad which uses the Glittering Generalities technique, a coffee ad that uses Transfer technique, a soda ad that uses the Testimonial technique, and a soup ad that uses the Name Calling technique. First, the political ad I choose used the Glittering Generalities technique in which the Donald Trump used a certain slogan in hopes to sway voters. In this ad Mr. Trump is telling potential voters that a vote for him is a vote to take back our country. The phrase used is vague and may not mean the same to you as it does to me. • 17. A Retrieved Reformation By O Henry Summary The short story A Retrieved Reformation, written by O. Henry, takes place mostly in Elmore, Arkansas. It starts off focusing on Jimmy Valentine, convicted felon, as he gets out of jail and decides to get back into his old habit of safe cracking. However, when he arrives into the town where the bank he s targeted lies, he falls in love with Annabel Adams, the banker s daughter. He became a new man, by the name of Ralph D.Spencer, and then they got married and started a family. Unfortunately, in the end of the story, he transformed back into Jimmy to save his daughter from dying. This story is an example of how loving and caring for others brings out the best in people. When elite safecracker Jimmy Valentine arrived in Elmore, he had nobody in his life worth staying in one place for. He had never met someone to fall in love with, until he saw, ironically, the banker s daughter. A young lady crossed the street, passed him at the corner and entered a door over which was the sign, The Elmore Bank. Jimmy Valentine looked into her eyes, forgot what he was, and became another man. Jimmy was in love at first sight, and he was so excited because now there is someone in his life worth sticking around for. He doesn t have to run away anymore. He changed because he didn t want to live on the run, he wanted to be able to stay with the person he loved. According to the Bible Jesus says the good shepherd is the one that leaves ninety nine sheep s, goes to find one lost sheep and brings her home. Kant believed that there in fact was, and so did Descartes. Kant did not specify that this knowledge has from birth was in fact that of God like Descartes did, but he implied it. Kant defined such as priori knowledge and compared it to that of mathematics. The concept of mathematics he considers to be necessary and universal knowledge that one has independent from the posteriori knowledge. Posteriori knowledge, being the opposite of priori knowledge, is knowledge acquired through experience. One could go as far as to say that he agrees with Descartes by saying that humans are in fact born with preexisting knowledge. To elaborate on the subject, Descartes continues with this idea. This is precisely the reason why lawyers exist. The law is very complex, so rather than forcing someone to go to law school for ten years, we have them hire lawyers to help them with the law. Kant s Views On Freedom Essay In the following paper, I will outline how my understanding of freedom has changed since reading Immanuel Kant s An Answer to the Question: What is Enlightenment? Firstly, I will state the views that I held on freedom before I read the text, framing them within a political context by labelling myself as a civil libertarian and explaining what that means. Subsequently, I will provide my interpretation of Kant s views on freedom through the positive and negative senses and how, for Kant, that there ought to be a distinction between the public and private use of reason, as it constitutes a necessary limit on freedom in order to foster enlightenment. Then, I will outline how Kant s views on freedom have changed my understanding of freedom, stating that they have only strengthened it, though it has taken on a new degree of nuance as I agree that there ought to be such a distinction between the two uses of reason. I will also disagree with Kant by arguing that the citizenry must have the right to dissolve an authoritarian government, as it is necessary to preserve enlightenment. Finally, I will highlight a paradox that presents itself in Kant s writings, highlighting it through the contemporary example of Edward Snowden s disruptive usage of his public reason. Prior to reading the text, my views on freedom were framed around my experience with regards to paying attention to politics. Union Influence While government policies are a part of Volscho and Kelly s research, they recognize that other factors affect income inequality. Strong labor unions are capable of reducing income inequality that is brought on by the decisions made in the market. The stronger a union is, the more bargaining power they possess so that they are able to fight for better pay and a more equal distribution of income. Western and Rosenfeld agree with this statement as their research pertains more on labor unions and their relationship with income inequality. During the 1970 s, labor unions were at their strongest, with as many as one in three people working in a union. From the 1980 s to currently, not only has labor union membership decreased to single digits, but wage inequality has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Pros And Cons Of Adolf Hitler Hitler persuaded many German citizens. He made them think that the Jews were bad people and needed to be kept in ghettos and small areas, or killed. At first, the Jews just thought they were protecting them from the war, but over time they realized what was happening. Hitler was convincing the Germans to kill the Jews, and because Hitler was persuasive, they listened. He persuaded many Germans, made them act horribly and inhumane towards Jews, and feared the Jews forever. How did Hitler persuade the German people and government to construct a legal system or mass murder? To start off, Hitler is considered to be ranked high among the most evil men in the entire history of mankind (ww2bd.com). Because he was ranked among the evilest people in history, he must have also been one of the scariest, and that is why the Germans followed him. At the beginning of the story, a foreigner named Moche the Beadle, was taken by the Germans and they said not to worry because he would be safe, but they tricked him and others and killed them instead. Over slow time Hitler gained control over everyone, and he transfers the Jews to concentration camps. When this happens, the Jews now realize that they are in trouble, and fear starts to take place inside them. When they arrive at the concentration camp a German soldier says to them, Those of you who have gold, silver, or watches in your possession must give them up now. Anyone who is later found to have kept anything will be shot on the spot (Wiesel 33). The Germans took everything from the Jews. By the time they reached the camps, they had nothing, barely any food or water to survive. The Jews were overwhelmed with fear. • 38. Reversal Of Revenge In Medea Throughout the play we see a rising culmination of emotions of anger and hate to the point where there is an anticlimactic resolution when Medea gets revenge on Jason. If Aristotle were to comment on this so called tragedy that Euripedes wrote, he would mention that this play does not contain the complexity and quality that a tragedy most definitely needs. According to Aristotle, the most important part of a tragedy is its plot or as Aristotle puts it, the imitation of an action or mimesis. Aristotle also states that in making a tragedy, three things must lead one after the other in a successive way; reversal of intention (peripetiea), recognition (anagnorisis) and the cleansing of pity and fear (catharsis). Euripedes fails to make Medea a tragedy as he does not include these main elements such as hermatia, peripeteia, anagnorisis and catharsis that Aristotle says make a tragedy successful. Euripedes ultimately fails to make a very complex play. The peripeteia or the reversal of intention, which according to Aristotle is the first element that should come in a tragedy, in Medea is absent or seldom occurs in the play as Medea is well determined in her motives from the very beginning to take revenge on Jason. From the very beginning of the play where Medea learns that her husband, Jason, has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He literally writes that she is realizing the wrong her husband does her. Though there is no Peripeteia that precedes this anagnorisis which is usually the case in a tragedy, as Aristotle notes, it still is the turning point of the play and the time in which Medea becomes a dangerous and vile woman who will again get revenge because of her love and passion for Jason. But from this point on, Medea s plan never changes. She never passes from ignorance to knowledge. As we see again in the conversation with Creon, she continues to carry out her revenge against Jason as she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This statement is what brought me to the Gonzaga Organizational Leadership program and is considered the heart of my statement of purpose for acceptance into this program. I am a nine year Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. I am proud of my time on active duty, but have often felt that I have not done my job as a leader correctly. The Army is the best and worst places to learn and employ leadership! A 19 year old, fresh out of high school can gain leadership experience over the course of his or her career in the Army. In the three stories Of Mice and Men, Chrysanthemums, and To Kill a Mockingbird, the theme of Prejudice is uniquely enhanced by the use of symbols. Initially in the story Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, there are obvious times where unequal distribution of wealth, power and privilege between men and women is shown. On page 1 when Elisa is working with her flowers while observing her husband talking to two other men, it states She wore heavy leather gloves to protect her hands while she worked. Macbeth Character Analysis Essay Throughout the course of Shakespeare s Scottish tragedy, Macbeth , the eponymous hero develops from a highly respected warrior and loyal thane; to a dead butcher , executed for his crimes against Scotland, and condemned by all. By making the fatal error of disregarding his conscience and committing regicide in order to gain the crown of Scotland, he seals his own eternal fate and that of Scotland, making her the grave of her people. In the opening scenes of the play, Shakespeare introduces Macbeth as a war hero, and a trusted advisor to the king. He also indicates that Macbeth is a more paradoxical character than is initially thought, by associating him from the start with evil and treachery. The dichotomy of Macbeth s nature is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the soliloquy, the audience gains insight into Macbeth s innermost thoughts. He names multiple reasons as to why he should not kill King Duncan, noting that Duncan is his guest, kinsman and a good king. He also admits that the only motive he has is the Vaulting ambition residing inside of him. Here he names his own hamartia, his fatal flaw, and acknowledges that to give in and commit such a deed, would result in his deep damnation . While still undecided on the matter, Lady Macbeth enters, and, seeing his indecision she decides to manipulate him into the decision that suits her; for after all, she is almost if not as ambitious as her husband. By questioning his manhood, his bravery, even their marriage, she successfully leads him to make the choice to kill the king. We now must realise that although the witches prophecies and Lady Macbeth s taunts were a catalyst for Macbeth s treachery, they never force him to make these errors in judgement; it must have been something that was already inside of him that caused him to decide this. There must have been some inherent evil already a part of his character. After killing the king, Macbeth is seen to be embracing evil over and over again when he decides to murder Banquo. Having already gained the crown of Scotland, he now wants further security and believes that Banquo will disrupt that. Although at first manipulated by his wife to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I have seen UNFIT employees directly or indirectly cause stress, created misunderstandings between the employee and of his/family, and I have witnessed how they created tensions and conflicts and hence affected the efficiency of other employees within the organization. One of the aspects of the Scripps recruitment and interview process that stood out to me is the Behavior Based Interview. By using this process Scripps gets to go into further details than the standard interview does. By going this route, Scripps is engaging in a culture fit. Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest One of the most controversial areas associated with the global problem of deforestation is the Pacific Northwest of the US. The problem can be broken down into several issues that all tie in together. These include the near extinction of the Northern Spotted Owl, the business aspect of logging versus the environmental aspect, and the role of the government in this problem. In 1973, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was passed. This enabled the Dept. of Commerce and Dept. of the Interior to place species, either land or marine, as either threatened or endangered. Under these terms species could no longer be hunted, collected, injured or killed. The northern spotted owl falls under the more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Guest speaker Jerry Howe would fall into this category as a private land owner. As a land steward, he believes he can do what he wants with his land. The term steward is used to mean that no one can truly own the land, it can only be used or under the care of a person. He uses clear cutting when it has the smallest effect on the environment, he also uses strip cutting in which the forest is cut in strips to provide a buffer zone and is more aesthetically pleasing. His methods are better for the forest due to conservative forestry practices that speed up the regeneration of the forest. This produces a more sustainable yield than clear cutting alone. While neither of these techniques is good for the environment, using wise management practices can still produce a large profit while conserving precious ecosystems. For large companies, such as Pacific Lumber, to switch to using conservative forestry practices would take more than proposals by environmentalists and the Forest Service to help the environment to change their current ways. For these companies to switch, it would cost them money to follow the more sustainable approach while also decreasing their profit due to less tree cutting in the short term. In my opinion, it is up to the government to set standards that force these companies to switch by making regulations more strict as well as a greater number of them if need be. The role ... • 46. Analysis Of The LEGO Ninjago Movie At one time, Everything (Was) Awesome!!! Remember that? The genius 2 minute earworm of a song that The Lonely Island and Tegan Sara took all the way to the Oscars as an Original Song nominee? The beauty of framing your film around an absurd, empty, but undeniably catchy song is that the movie matched the pace of the song. Hearing it, we laugh, instantly tap our feet, and directors Phil Lord Christopher Miller established a cadence with which their film could bounce to. If The LEGO Movie established rhythm among the hundreds of comedic puns, jokes, and visual sight gags, it also retained a fearlessness about it that was absolutely invigorating. Understandable sure, but Lloyd has five other ninja skilled friends, which is not really a common trait for kids who are mocked and bullied everyday at school. But I digress. Buoyed by nine different individuals credited on the screenplay (NINE!), the movie stumbles around trying to recreate the magic of the prior movies. The returns are middling at best, though one villain who arrives midway through the film is hilarious, and rather cleverly crashes the real world into the plastic and synthetic world these characters inhabit. Additionally, the movie employs a strong list of talented performers and relegates them to minimal, or nominal, character development and dialogue. Since the movie is primarily tied to the story of Lloyd and his megalomaniac father, and features Jackie Chan as a LEGO sensei who mentors the teenage ninjas, and serves as the wise old man who tells a young child about the story we are preparing to see, there isn t much room left for anyone else. And so Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Pena, Abbi Jacobson, Zach Woods, and Fred Armisen may fill out the card of additional ninja team members, but because the movie has no interest in letting their characters have space to mean anything, The LEGO Ninjago Movie folks seem to have hired them for name on poster recognition, as opposed to anything memorable or significant.
