Introducing: Moi (Me)!
My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friendsпЂ
It gives a lovely light.
My life is a journey of discovery, traveled in repeating cycles of dreams and mindfulness, joy and
sadness, hope and despair it has been a series of stories, some bright and some dark, yet all filled
with interesting people, places, things, and ideas. Sometimes I walk with others, sometimes alone.
At times, I ve become lost along the way so lost I d forgotten who I really am, but sometimes the
path to renewal and reawakening can be beautiful, wondrous, and full of surprises.
Who am I? I m many things, and as I travel along my life s journey of discovery I m able to add to
this ever growing list of the words I use to describe who I think I am (and being a scholar of
letters and a former librarian, I ve arranged these traits alphabetically and, of course, not in any

It s about a fictional Native American culture flourishing 3,000 years ago at the archeological site
today known as Poverty Point in northern Louisiana. My hope for my literary prehistoric novel with
its strong though somewhat insecure female heroine, traditional and original Native American

thriving community suddenly abandons its extensive village built on a series of phenomenal
crescent shaped earthwork mounds is that it be published and appeal to archeology, history, Native

6. The Link Between Market Baseline And The Public Objectives
3.2 The link between the market baseline and the public objectives In some situations, countries
often provided a loan to specific enterprises or made some advantageous policies in order to achieve
public goals. Hence, some people questioned whether the public objectives should be taken into
consideration when the benefit analysis is operated. This question has raised great controversy.
Some people think that the determination of subsidies and the public objectives are two different
matters, while others argue that the public objectives should be taken into account. They further
declared that the government, which pursues public goals should be tested by public investor
standard, rather than the private investor standard. From the perspective of the author, the public
objectives should not be taken into account when the advantage analysis in the subsidylaw is
operated. A typical case which was not officially confirmed could provide us some inspirations.
3.21 The case US Lead and Bismuthв… in the context of GATT The case US Lead and

the benefit analysis and the public objectives. The US claimed that the EC subsidized its steel

US was not correct, since the test did not take the government s investment objectives into
consideration. In addition to the disagreement provided

7. Homelessness In Canada
When people think of Canada, they likely imagine a prospering country filled with equal
opportunity, safety, and security. While this statement can be true for the population of privileged
white people, Canada, unfortunately, has had some unproud moments in its history, and sadly, the
treatment of minorities is still poor today. Specifically, there has been historic problems between
Canadaand indigenous people, from as early as the colonization of the land stolen from the
indigenous people to the assimilation of youth with residential schools. The land that is proudly
called Canada today, once was the home to many aboriginal tribes including the East Indies, before
it was stolen by colonizers (Vikings, French, and Europeans) as early as... Show more content on

Local forces should operate with transparency and work on a foundation of equity and equality, to
ensure all demographics are safe and protected, without bias or discrimination. Unfortunately, there
have been many incidents in Canada, where police forces denied the issue and showed racism in
their operations. Culhane (2003) claimed that in East Vancouver alone, a minimum of 61 women
has been reported missing since 1983. When these reports were made to the local police, they were
ignored and not taken seriously which contradicts the duties that the police service should provide.
Attention was not brought to these reports until the Philip Owens, Vancouver mayor, ordered the
police to investigate these concerns (Culhane 2003). After the local forces took control and started
investigating, this issue started getting more and more coverage in academics, and media, convicts
were finally being arrested for their wrongdoing. While this action did not solve the problem, it
was successful in initiating a conversation that was not previously had, which was a significant
movement for acknowledging the crisis. This shows how progress can be made with smaller
centralized action, however, it also demonstrates the importance that superior governing forces play,
the ideal solution would be for the federal government to prompt and encourage local forces to
foster this issue within

8. Database Management System ( Dbms )
2. What is a DBMS? Briefly describe the components of a DBMS.
Database Management System(DBMS) is a collection of interrelated data (database) and set of
programs to access and modify those data.
DBMS has several components. Each component has some specific task to perform. The Major
components DBMS are as follows,
Hardware
Without hardware it is not possible to implement DBMS. The main hardware is the computer used
for storing and accessing the data in database. Other hardware components used in DBMS are
Storage devices, I/O devices, and electromechanical devices which makes interface between user
and the database.

Granting of authorization for data access iv. Routine maintenance
End Users
The real users who the application programs to interact with the database to perform different
operations stored in the database. Some of the operations are insertion, deletion, updating data in
the database, etc.
Query processor
It converts the user queries into series of low level instructions. The query processor has the
following components,
i. DDL interpreter:
It interprets DDL statements and records definitions in the data dictionary. ii. DML compiler:
It translates DML statements in the query language into an evaluation plan consisting of low level
instructions. iii. Query evaluation engine:
It executes low level instructions (query evaluation plan).
Data
Data is the most important component of the DBMS. The main purpose of DBMS is to process
the data in efficient and convenient way for the users. In DBMS, databases are defined,
constructed, modified , inserted and accessed from the database. There are two types of data in the
DBMS. They are
i. Meta data:
It is the data about data or description about data stored in the database. Data definition
language(DDL) is used to manipulate this type of data. ii. Actual data:
This is data actually stored in the database by the users. Data manipulation language(DML) is used
to manipulate this type of data.

column has some significance. To find out what these amounts represent a financial comparison of

Horizontal Analysis When evaluating financial statement data for a specific period of time we use

11. What Is The Critique Of The Da Vinci Code
Conspiracy of the Millenium: The Da Vinci Code Dan Brown s famous novel, The Da Vinci
Code created a lot of controversy regarding Christianity after being published in 2003. What
makes this novel so controversial is that Brown tells a story about a museum curator with a secret
pact, a historian, a cryptologist and how the church has kept the truth about Mary Magdalene and
Jesus. Brown s claims about the existence of a secret society called the Priori of Sions whose
members include Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo and even Da Vinci himself and their
possession of the Holy Grail, an arrangement of documents that reveals the real relationship
between Jesus and Mary Magdalene and the existence of a daughter between the two of them.

As a member of this cult, some of Da Vinci s most famous paintings include secret messages and
information that only members of the cult were able to decipher, leading to conspiracies that
involve the Clergy and their secrets. One of Da Vinci s pieces, The Last Supper is used as
evidence to prove his involvement in the secret sect. The Last Supper practically shouts at the
viewer that Jesus and Magdalene were a pair (Brown 244). The Priory of Sion is referred as to

femininity and power. The Priory of Sion, to this day, still worships Mary Magdalene as the
Goddess, the Holy Grail, the Rose and the Divine Mother (Brown 255). The fact that the Priory of
Sion, an important organization involved with Christian secrets and documents considered her as a
Goddess suggests the true importance of this woman. The intimate relationship described by
Brown in his novel could cause a strife involving the whole world, Christianity is the biggest

12. Grimm Brothers Cinderella
In the famous story of Cinderella, what do you think is the theme or main lesson of Cinderella?
The theme of Cinderella is bad people never succeed and good people will always prevail. The
Grimm Brothers Cinderella presents the theme of the Cinderella Archetype the best. The three
different examples that best present the theme in Grimm Brothers Cinderellaare a bird takes out
both of the stepsisters eyes for mistreating Cinderella poorly, making fun of Cinderella and not
giving her a dress , and making Cinderella be their maid and in the end the stepsisters miserably
live with no eyes and with either no heels or no toes.

If you were to compare Charles Perrault with the Grimm Brothers they both wrote in the
beginning that the stepsisters treat her poorly but in the end it is different because in the
Grimm Brothers the sisters get consequences from birds. In the Charles Perrault Cinderella they
forgave Cinderella for all of their wickedness and Cinderella accepts the apologization and gives
them lodgings in the palace and 2 lords of the court. Only in the Grimm Brothers Cinderella, she
has to pick up lentils that her stepsisters throw down for her to pick up. The Charles Perrault
Cinderella difference that was stated affects the theme because since the sisters apologized to
Cinderella she gave them a lodging and 2 lords which disagrees with the theme a little bit
because the theme states that bad people never succeed. The first part doesn t work because the
stepsisters didn t get a consequence in the Charles Perrault. In the Grimm Brothers one they did
and in the Charles Perrault they got to live in the palace. Thatt is kind of like succeeding so that
crosses out that bad people never succeed but the good people succeeding still works because in
the end Cinderella gets married in both stories. The Cinder Maid and the Grimm Brothers are
amazingly similar. They are

Examination of Mrs Wright in Trifles by Susan Glaspell
The play ?Trifles?, by Susan Glaspell , is an examination of the different levels of early 1900?s mid
western farming society?s attitudes towards women and equality. The obvious theme in this story
is men discounting women?s intelligence and their ability to play a man?s role, as detectives, in the
story. A less apparent theme is the empathy the womenin the plot find for each other. Looking at
the play from this perspective we see a distinct set of characters, a plot, and a final act of sacrifice.

?Those towels get dirty awful quick. Men?s hands aren?t always as clean as they might be.?(1172)
A few line?s later she comment?s on Mr. Wright and what Mrs. Wright?s relationship and life must

As the ladies examine the house, while the men are other places, picking clothes and an apron
up for Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Hale gains sympathy for her until finally she starts to take action. When
they find the block of quilting that has stitching askew, she starts to fix it, perhaps to cover for
Mrs. Wright?s distraught state of mind. While Mrs. Hale is finding sympathy for Mrs. Wright,
Mrs. Peters offers a counterpoint that tries to justifies the men?s viewpoints and actions. Her
comments to Mrs. Hale?s resentful musings on Mrs. Wright?s unhappy life and on the actions of
men in regards to women in general all seem to be rote answers programmed into her by society
and a desire not to cause any trouble. This all changes as soon as Mrs. Peters finds the bird.

16. A Simple Mathematical Model Of The Underlying Economics
The current crisis is catalyzing an array of responses, including searching for causes, reworking
regulations, scapegoating and a massive capital injection. Without a clear understanding of the
cause, the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents may be scapegoated, and valuable
progress in financial tools may be lost. Worse, it will happen again. From a simple mathematical
model of the underlying economics, I first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic
relating very low interestrates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this
outcome foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn t

The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a
house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the
matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of
the demand curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but
which drives a bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely
proportional to the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those
rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to
double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage
change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no
down payment, no amortization and closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a
house is the monthly payment, which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest
rates are cut in half, the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But
the same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of
housing. The house price is bid up until the new monthly payment at the new interest rate matches
the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The house price varies inversely

It may seem hard to believe but there are still indigenous people out there still suffering from
corruption and oppression from their very own government. However the indigenous people are
not fighting them alone. In 1994 Chiapas Mexico, a movement began by a group that called
themselves the Zapatistas. The Zapatistas wanted change for the indigenous people for all the
years of oppression they have suffered by the government. Indian Is Beautiful a chapter by Homero
Aridjis gives examples on why indigenous peoplesvoices don t get recognized. He also talks about
how Mexico tried to be part of the future of the United Stateseconomy, by not having indigenous
people being involved in their economy is preventing them to grow. The Governments in Mexico
ignore the indigenous people as if they don t exist.
An essay named Indian Is Beautiful by Homero Aridjis he examines what indigenous people go
through by their government. He gives examples such as toxic dumps, highways being constructed,
military raids, and tourist complexes. This shows how the indigenous peoples homes don t get a
recognition for their space by the government or companies by them coming in and taking over. It
is time that our ethnic groups become part of the Mexican body economic and politic (143,144). In

Dental implants are a very useful tool to combat a wide range of dental issues, such as bone
deterioration and loose dentures. Listed below are just two of the many reasons to consider dental
implants.
They Can Improve Your Dental Health
One of the primary reasons to consider implants is that they can improve your dental health. This
is because these implants can actually reduce a lot of the wear that your teeth may begin
experiencing once you have lost several of your teeth. When you lose one or more teeth, you are
most likely going to be favoring other areas of your mouth whenever you chew, which means that
the teeth in those areas are going to be working substantially harder and more often in order to help
you chew food.

19. How Did Robin Williams Shaped American Culture
Juliane Baur
US History
Period 3
Rough Draft
Robin McLaurin Williams was a remarkable person who shaped the american culture as an actor
and comedian. A lot of people see him as an idol. He was born on 21st July 1951 in Chicago,
Ilinois. He grew up in wealthy conditions as the only child of Laura McLaurin, a founder of a
modeling agency and Robert Fitzgerald who was a senior employee at Ford. He spent most of his
childhood in different places due to his father s profession before the family finally settled in Marin
County.
Robin Williams was bullied badly during his childhood for being chubby. Therefore he spent a lot
of his time playing alone in the family s large home to avoid his tormentors. Eventually, he
conquered his overweight label by joining the wrestling and tracks teams. That s when he realised
that he could make the other children laugh as a way of gaining respect from them.
His father took early retirement when Robin Williams was 16. That is when they moved to
California where he finished his education at Redwood High School. Up to this point, he had
already been noticed for his flair in entertaining people, a natural talent.
After graduation in 1969, Robin Williams attended Claremont Men s College to learn more about
acting. Later in life it turned out to be the right decision. He ended up taking lessons in

This poem is a part of Housman s most famous volume of work called A Shropshire Lad. In these
works Housman wanted the reader to think about life and the meaning of it all. In one of Housman
s most celebrated poems To an Athlete Dying Young , Critics dissect the themes of staying on top
eternally, dying when one is a champion, and not letting the fame fade. Critic Scott Kilvert says that
Housman voices the familiar passions of humanity with a deathdealing sweetness (Scott Kilvert

The athlete escaped the pain of watching himself loose his ability. The athlete now will be
remembered as a champion and nothing else (John 1858).
In every stanza some new theme or idea is introduced. The first stanza or lines 1 4 seems to have
an association with the Greek Olympiad. In lines 2 4 the reaction of the townspeople is
established. The athlete ...was placed on an emotional and psychological pedestal... (Ruby230).
This athlete was carried shoulder high through the towns place. In line 3 the men and boys are
single out. This singly out could refer to the Greek obsession and love for the physical beauty of
the male body (Ruby 231). Critic Bruce Meyer believes that the athlete was not only a champion
in himself, but was the champion for the town or this society of people. This athlete is a symbol
of the perfection and idealism that society craves. (Meyer 238). The townspeople adore what the
athlete has done because they feel he represents their people (Meyer 238). The athlete has now
died in stanza two, and moved on. The athlete is still being carried shoulder high but know to his
grave sight. The line The road all runners come implicates that all humans run the road of life,
they must also journey to death (Cummings, scr.1). The threshold in line seven where the athletes
body is placed may be a number of things. In this case it may be the literal meaning of the edges of

21. The Case Of Feral Children
It is essential to realize that isolation from society breeds dehumanization, a proof of that is the
case of feral children, the ones who had almost no social contact during their infancy. Ones were
even reported to have been raised by wild animals. Take the case of Anna, a girl who had been
kept for almost six years in a dark room, barely fed, neglected completely by her mother. When
she was discovered, she could not speak, walk, not to mention she was indifferent to everything
around her. Her case shows exactly how badly one can be affected by seclusion. However, Silas
Marners situation differs in some respects from the one mentioned previously, since he was an
adult. Yet one cannot help but observe the change in his character and way of being, as he even
started resembling the things to which he was deeply tied, his loom and his gold.
Strangely Marner s face and figure shrank and bent themselves into a constant mechanical relation
to the objects of his life, so that he produced the same sort of impression as a handle or a crooked
tube, which has no meaning standing apart. (Eliot 15)
The third stage is marked by the sequence in which Dunstan stole his gold which also showcased
the aftermath of isolation. This apparent adversity forced him out of his shell, compelled him to
seek help from his neighbours who had almost forgotten him. The theft forced him to reconnect
with the villagers and to find a way to integrate himself. When he decided to go to Rainbow, the

23. Neural Network Based Intrusion Detection Systems
3. Neural Networks This technique follows the same notion of how human brain works. It
consists of collection of highly interconnected processing elements that convert a set of given
inputs to a set of desired outputs. The widely used neural network for intrusion detection is
Multilayer Perceptions (MLP).Neural Network based intrusion detection systems are intended to
classify the normal and intrusion patterns and the type of the attack. For this purpose, the
network is trained on various types of attacks and normal data. One input node is present for
each element of the feature vector, and one output node for each class, to which a feature may be
assigned, as shown in fig.4. The nodes in the hidden layer are connected to the input nodes and
the connection has some initial weight assigned to it. These weights can be modified during the
training process. Fig.4 : Neural Network Back propagation rule is the learning algorithm used for
MLP which is a gradient descent method and is based on an error function. Error function
represents the difference between network s calculated output and desired output. The error is
back propagated from one layer to the previous one using back propagation rule. The weights on
the connection are modified according to the back propagated error so that there is reduction in the
error. The output of the neural network would be one of the two values: intrusion and normal. It is
seen that, huge number of training vectors leads to

Abstract:
In order to cope up with the growing problem of traffic congestion several means and methods
have been implemented. For reducing this problem,an efficient method for traffic monitoring can
be implemented by providing the availability of the parking spaces in advance. Since there exist
no such system we intend to develop one using sensors and RFIDs.In proposed system, we
consider car park equipped with sensors(IR) which checks for the availability of parking slots and
updates the information periodically. This updated information is provided to the user via an
android application. Using this application user gets directed towards the parking slot by using the
shortest path algorithm(Dijikstra s). Also to avoid traffic congestion due to parking charges, car is
associated with a unique RFID tag for the wallet parking.

9/25/12 Adv. U.S. History South Carolina Ordinance of Nullification, November 24, 1832
Throughout the great American history, Americans have been through a colossal amount of
conflicts, and wars. However, they still figured out a way to compromise and accept each other s
differences. As America improves, they gradually lead to a making of a powerful and organized
government. Yet in South Carolina Ordinance of Nullification a conflict arises, where South
Carolina is furious at the federal government and wants the best for themselves. Like many other
states South Carolina is one of which that had its own negative opinions towards the federal

This lowered the tariff gradually over a decade and prevented any armed conflicts. (.loc.gov) This
shows the strength of the federal government over all the states. In conclusion, the Ordinance of
Nullification was a document with many personal opinions and conflicts. For example, the federal
government wasn t equal to the south, by letting north have the positive affect of the tariff of 1928
and south have the negative affect. In result south tried to show that they have more power than the
federal government by nullifying the tariffs. However all of this ended with an agreement.
Throughout most of our history when a conflict derives a compromise is always made. After all, the

Other challenges that parental leave and birth and adoption unemployment compensation (BAA

As one can see, the topic of parental leave has many factors that play major roles in what and how
and how much should be done with parental leave. Now that you ve heard all the facts, how could
the United States achieve a parental leave program for new families? Here are a few things to
consider, FMLA, cost, job employment, and benefits to offer. I m proposing a plan to help new
families and even other families that are in need of some work. I think that with the statistics
being stated above, the United States needs to have a paid parental leave benefit system offered
in their contracts. I believe this will help many people and families in the bonding process. We
would go about this in first setting aside some money and getting the government to approve this
policy. Then, FMLA would also be the ones helping out with parental leave. New parents would
be able to leave their job knowing they could still come back after their leave was up. While the
newly parents were gone, the employer could offer a temporary job to someone seeking a job.
They wouldn t have to give them the full benefit system they offer because the job seeker wouldn t
be with them forever.
As part of the solution, if a person knew they wanted to start a family by having or adopting a
child, they could start a process of the company taking out a certain

Eugene Fama from the University of Chicago and Kenneth R. French from the Yale School of
Management s were done a research on examining the validity of capital asset pricing model
(CAPM). It was published in 1992; and well known as The Fama French three factors model (TFM).
Fama and French TFM is used to explain the risk and return on equity portfolios. It compares the
portfolio to three distinct risks found in equity market. Those three distinct risks are sensitivity to
market, or we call it beta; size risks or SMB factor, small minus big; and market risk or HML
factor, high minus low.
Value Stocks versus Growth Stocks
In the Rethinking Stock Returns article, it defines value stocks as stocks with low ratio of book to
market value. Its price is low relative to their book value and thus considered as undervalued by a
value investor. Usually this stock has high dividend yield.
On the other hand, growth stocks usually doesn t pay dividend at all, as the company would most
likely to reinvest the earning it gets to the capital project. Growth stocks has low ratio of book to
market value, its earnings are expected to grow at an above average rate relative to the market. Not

When I added you as a friend on Facebook, I was criticized and advised we had nothing in

best friend! I knew I could tell you anything, and I did. Sometime around the middle of October,
something unfortunate happened in my life. Being the introvert that I am, I never told a soul

The Transformation of Henry Fleming in The Red Badge of Courage
Stephen Crane s purpose in writing The Red Badge of Courage was to dictate the pressures faced
by the prototypical American soldier in the Civil War. His intent was accomplished by making
known the horrors and atrocities seen by Unionist Henry Fleming during the Battle of
Chancellorsville, and the conflicts within himself.
Among the death and repulsion of war, there exists a single refuge for the warrior his brethren. The
success of combat is directly related to the morale of the soldiers, as it is the relationship with the
neighboring soldier that demonstrates the motive for fighting. This association between men

The man that bets on my running will lose his money... Henry listened to these annotations
steadfastly, still questioning himself if he were going to run, swept up in the compulsion of the

other members of the group believed the same. The opinions of the group, once again, had a grand
influence on Henry s ability to mature, as he lost control of personally discrete opinions, fearing the
lurking menaces of the future.
Anecdotes from the group also influenced Henry s maturation. In contrast to reality, the
boastings of the men imply an upholding of a fable of war; that is, the group can succeed
without the individual. An unmerited comment from a soldier stated, I met one of th 148th
Maine boys an he ses his brigade fit th hull rebel army fer four hours over on th turnpike road an

of the individual. Conversely, the pressure of this battle serves as an injunction to Henry, who, after

Fifth Business is divided into six immense chapters around forty five pages each somewhat
representing a key period of Dunstan Ramsay s life: his childhood, the identity change, Mrs.
Dempster s sainthood, his friendship with Boy, the development of his self confidence and the
unveiling of the snowball incident. Then, each of these megachapters is divided into an average of
eight subchapters. This is extremely confusing due to the fact that the subchapters hardly ever
relate in their entirety to the main focus of the megachapter. Thus, the book is filled with irrelevant
sections that contribute neither to the plot nor to the unveiling of the characters personalities. For
example, although the primary focus of chapter three is Dunstan s quest to discover Mrs.
Dempster s sainthood, he spends an entire subsection of four pages describing Boy and Leola s
wedding. The sole information that I retained from those four pages was that Leola looked like a
silver spoon in her dress. Likewise, the use of figurative language contributed to the confusing style
of Fifth Business. Throughout the book, Robertson Davies often attempted to foreshadow
upcoming events in Dunstan Ramsay s life. However, this use of figurative language did nothing
but add confusion to the plot, for it was not very subtle. For example, in the very beginning of the
book, Dunstan Ramsay mentions Paul Dempster for the first time: That was how Paul Dempster,
whose reputation is doubtless familiar to you (though that was not the name under which he gained
it), came to be born early on the morning of December 28 in 1908. (Davies, 5). In this sentence,
Robertson Davies had attempted to foreshadow Paul s change of identity; but, only added
confusion to the plot, for at this point in the book, the reader does not have enough information
about Paul Dempster to fully comprehend the foreshadow.

In today s society it is easy to get caught up into living a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle. With
new technologies, social media, etc, people are choosing to opt out of doing much active work
and are choosing to do things from the comfort of their own bed or couch. Many people choose to
enjoy the luxuries of online shopping, banking, mail, socializing, ordering food, games, and even
dating! Additionally, United States citizens have fully embraced the fast foodindustry for some of
the same reasons. It s much easier and cheaper than buying groceries all of the time, so many
families have adapted fast food to be the default choice for their everyday meals. Much of fast
food is very unhealthy; full of saturated fat and sugars that can induce fatal diseases and illnesses.
So although we are advancing as a nation when it comes to conventional living and technology,
we are also seeing a dramatic decline in the amount of people who are living and leading healthy
lifestyles and thus an increase in obesity. Diseases such as obesity can be prevented by simply

Catherine was shy, retiring, and good natured [...] [and this] led her to shun social gatherings

In the early morning of October 10, 2015, the Heffeweissen troops were forced to arrange and
arm themselves in the most ill prepared manner. Heffeweissen, where few of the soldiers were
from, was a poor nation with a benevolent ruler Landgrave Frederick XXII. In his attempt to
compensate the nation s depleted treasury, Landgrave Frederick XXII rented out thousands of
soldiers to other national militaries one of which was under Solomon Rex of Britain. Under
General Rex, the soldiers, or Heffians, arranged themselves in a military formation of about
twenty men. Despite, their substantial amount of manpower to support General Rex s loyalist
cause, most if not all of them were untrained for war, were inexperienced with weapons, and
above all were insufficient in battle strategies. The War of Sweetheart Circle ultimately initiated
at 10:07 AM. In the preceding minutes of the war, the Heffeweissen troops loosely gathered
themselves under huddles of enormous trees, proposing who would be leader and who would
assume specific tasks. In the few minutes of controversy for leadership, the Heffians finally
determined their leader; however, individual tasks were yet to be established. As time progressed,
the Loyalist troops wearily advanced to their base, trudging their feet across muddied paths.
Already, there was uncertainty plaguing the troops. Roaring echoes of thunder and pellets of rain
immediately troubled the discouraged troops. Only a few soldiers were underdressed for the

46. Character Analysis Of Freddie In The Shade
Were you ever nervous and bothered about changing the life you ve lived the most? Freddie in
the Shade, written by Pam Munoz Ryan, is about a young boy named Freddie who struggles
with realizing the beauty of change and moving forward in life. Having a hard time with
moving on, Freddie is left disagreeable but soon begins to let go of the past and becomes
acceptable to new things coming his way. Freddie is an interesting character because he likes to
have power over his own life but he tries to hold himself down to feel empathy for those he truly
cares for. There are several events and examples throughout the story Freddie in the Shade, that
express Freddie as a strong, caring, and kindhearted character.
Freddy can be described as disagreeable at the beginning of the story although at the end of the
story he becomes acceptable and open to new beginnings. For example, in the beginning of the
story on page 12 the author states For weeks, Freddie had been hibernating in his room, trying to
avoid dad and Maggie. They tried to include him in every boring preparation for the baby. With
the evidence, the author provides us we can predict that Freddie doesn t like when he is pushed
into doing something he doesn t want to do leaving Freddie very disagreeable and stubborn. On the
very first paragraph of page 11, the narrator states Freddie hoped that the dark shades would protect
him from anything else that might disrupt his life. From the statement, the author provides in

47. The Fourth Amendment And The Second Amendment
The Fourth Amendment was passed by Congress on September 25, 1789. However, it was ratified
on December 15, 1791. The Fourth Amendment is part of the first 10 Amendments which form the
Bill of Rights. The Fourth Amendment is made to protect people from unlawful searches and
seizures. This means that the police can t search a person s house without a warrant or probable
cause. The founders of the Fourth amendment believed that freedom from government intrusion
into one s home is a natural right and fundamental to liberty. The idea of this is to protected citizens
from unreasonable searches and seizures. However, the Fourth Amendment has been debated for the
last several years, as police and intelligence agencies in the United States have... Show more content

Weeks argument was that the 4th Amendment is meaningless unless it provides some real
protection. Stating that people are safe from unreasonable searches and seizures has little value
unless it is clear that evidence from such searches cannot be used in federal court. He also added
that federal officials should not be able to break the law in order to enforce the law. The United
States argument against Weeks prosecution proceeded logically; an arrest was made in
connection with a search, and further searches produced further evidence of wrongdoing. At all
times the officers were acting upon a growing body of evidence which suggested Weeks s
involvement in illegal activity. Weeks was guilty; he was in possession of evidence which was
incriminating, and he should be punished. This case has had an effect on society because it shows
how the rights of an individual were considered less important than the administration of justice.
This case marked a turning point in the Supreme Court s thinking. With the introduction of the
exclusionary rule, the Court devised a way of enforcing the Fourth Amendment. Since evidence
seized unlawfully could no longer be used in federal court against a defendant, a prosecutor
might lose or drop a case for lack of evidence. Having the police be careful next time to obtain
search warrants and make sure their searches and seizures are legal. The

Employer will be held liable if an employee does an authorized act in an unauthorized way which is
the actual scenario here in this case study.
Employers are also liable under the common law principle represented in the Latin phrase, qui facit

concept to vicarious liability and strict liability, in which one person is held liable in criminal law

former and employer being the latter.

Charles Frederick Worth, an influential designer, created the first fashion house in 1850 and is
currently known as the sole originator of haute couture (Koda et. al.).
With haute couture at its peak, the rising technological advances of the 20th century helped propel
the haute couture branch even further into an industrialized business. The sewing machine, which
was first invented in the Victorian Era, established a fast growing process of dressmaking in the mid
19th century and the early 20th century (Ahmad).
With added technological advances including factory lines and textile chains, the haute couture
manufacturing process became quicker, but never left it s original tailoring and dressmaking roots
completely (Major). During the manufacturing process of haute couture, the first step for the
designer is to create the design either sketched or draped and cutted with muslin or toile (Koda et.

dressmaking sectors of the fashion house. Professionally trained artisans in these areas focus on the
cut, drape, and style of the design, using sewing machines, tailoring, or dressmaking techniques to
create intricate patterns and designs with expensive and authentic fabrics, wools, and furs

progress more when they invest their energy to build their strength rather than fixing their
weakness (Rath, 2007). Gallup, the writer of the book says the book strengths finder actually

them as our strength (Rath, 2007). In the book strengths finder 2.0, the writer talks about 34
most common talents which help us find the areas where we have the greatest capacity to

55. The Elements Of Robbery Under Common Law
Throughout history violent crimes against person had been an ever growing concern among the
populous. In response to this concern, English judges created the common law felony of robbery.
While the common law of robbery has existed throughout the centuries, not much has changed in
some of the modern state statues found today with the exception of creating degrees.
Robbery, under common law is the face to face threat or use of force to obtain property directly
from an individual or from their proximity with the intent to permanently deprive them of that
property (Bower, 2014). The elements of robbery under common law are robbery actus reus and
robbery mens rea (Samaha, 2013). The actus reus refers to the criminal act of use of force, or
threat of force during the crime. However, the amount of force used has to be greater than the
force necessary to take and carry away the person s property. For example, taking a woman s
wallet from inside of her purse would not constitute a robbery since the amount of force used was
enough to acquire it. Conversely, if the woman resisted and the person pushed or made a threat,
then it would be considered robbery. The second element, mens rea, is the intent to take someone
else s property and permanently depriving them of it. Additionally, unlike normal theft, robbery
mens rea includes the additional intent to use force or threat of force to acquire it (Samaha, 2013).
Similarly, other than creating degrees and types of robberies,

intensity of Ender s Familylife and his journey to defeat the buggers, is much more coherent in the

themes are a major part, and would drastically change the story if it was removed. Ender being a

One big difference would be the fact the movie leaves so much out. The book had a lot of
unnecessary information that made the story tedious. The movie shortened things and made it get
right to the point. Another difference would be the training process, in the movie the training
was not long at all. We got an idea of how essential it was, then it went straight to the real battle.
The last disparity and probably the most odd, was Peter not being in the movie much. In the book
Peter had a very big role, and played a huge part in Ender s life. However, in the movie he showed
up once and wasn t mentioned much after that. These discrepancies were what made these two
places there own.
The way the movie put the key ideas of the story together, made it much more understandable
than the book. The Movie gave great visuals and puts you into the life of Ender by having him
tell his own story. The book made Ender seem unreal and he was very hard to relate to. People
that like for things to get straight to the point and easily understood would appreciate the movie
