2. IFTT (If This Then That)
•is an online service that automates Web-
based tasks so that when user-specified
events occur, follow-up tasks are
triggered and handled.
3. •It allows users to create chains of simple
conditional statements, called “Applets”.
4. IFTTT has the following concepts:
• Services
• Triggers
• Actions
• Applets
• Ingredients
5. Services
(formerly known as channels) are the "basic building blocks of
IFTTT", they mainly describe a series of data from a certain web
service such as YouTube or eBay. It can also describe some actions
controlled with certain APIs like SMS. Sometimes, it can represent
information in terms of weather or stocks. There are particular
triggers and actions in each channel.
6.
7. Triggers
•are the "this" part of an applet. They are the
items that "trigger" the action. For example,
from an RSS feed, you can receive a
notification based on a keyword or phrase.
8. Actions
•are the "that" part of an applet. They
are the output that results from the
input of the trigger.
9. Applets
• (formerly known as recipes) are
the predicates made from Triggers and Actions.
For example, if you like any picture in Instagram
(trigger), the photo will be sent to
your Dropbox account (action).
10. Ingredients
•are basic data made available from a trigger.
For example, the data that are available from
the email trigger include subject, body,
attachment, received date, and the sender’s
address.

12. Why use IFTTT?
• If you have multiple channels for your company
and you are posting the same content for each,
IFTTT is the free way in which you can link up a
couple of your accounts together to ensure that
they are sent at the same time.
13. •This would save a lot of time, as you wouldn’t
have to post these one at a time. You can even
save money considering you wouldn’t need to
hire someone to manage it for you and focus
on other tasks the business may have.
