a few great strategies to use to
improve your leadership skills so
you can achieve your goals in life.

Critical Thinking
Skills

5. If you want to be a leader, you need
to be a thinker. The kind of
thinking you need possess is known
as critical thinking.

6. Critical thinking goes beyond the
surface of issues. Instead, a critical
thinker analyzes and assesses
issues on a deeper level. He or she
views the issue from multiple view
points.

7. That person tries to get to the root
of complex problems and issues to
find the logical building blocks they
are composed of.

8. It’s a much deeper analysis free of
the simple biases and “gut feelings”
that may drive the decision making
of others without critical thinking
skills.

9. Being a critical thinker means
being able to study complex
problems and come up with the best
solution based on strong logical
conclusions. People expect their
leaders to be effective problem
solvers.

Effective
Communicator

your cause, you need to be able to
effectively communicate with large
groups. Without that
communication, there is no
leadership.

front of live audiences. While stage
fright can certainly be scary, it can
dissipate with practice.

avenues for communicating with a
wide audience. Running a blog or a
podcast are two ways many modern
leaders convey their messages to
their followers.

is not enough. You need to be
persuasive. This is where the
critical thinking comes into play.

reasoning to convince others that
your way is the best, you will have a
much better chance of developing a
movement.

your own personal philosophy that
you can convey to others in your
public speaking, actions and
projects.

causes are important to you. Don’t
simply rely on the ideology of
others. You need to be an innovator
and an individual with your own
ideas and views. If you aren’t, you
will never effect real change.

never come into prominence
without the individualistic vision
and leadership style of Steve Jobs.

21. You have to bring something new to
the table that reflects your own
passions.
