The organisation of armies during the period of 1789 1945 changed drastically, with the
increasing devolvement of power and the introduction of army sections, such as Napoleon s
corps system. These changes were the main factor in the outcome of wars during the period, but
only where the organised army had effective command and control in place. Well organised
armies could perform tactics better; more easily carry out strategy and use transport more
effectively to gain victory. Of all of these elements, the most important strength of a well
organised army was tactics. First, organised armies are much more successful in tactics, allowing
them to win battles. The organisation of armies allowed flexibility and speed. For example, at
Austerlitz, Napoleon purposefully exposed a weak flank, and Davout s army plugged the gap at
the last minute, resulting in three times as many Austrian casualties as French. This tactic was
repeated successfully by the French multiple times, due to the devolution of command, allowing
multiple small armies to co operate while achieving separate aims. Flexibility was also seen in
WW1, with the use of creeping barrage, which combined multiple weapons in a three stage multi
division assault. This was particularly effectively used by the German army in the Ludendorff
offensive, and quite clearly depended on organisation: previous attempts (particularly by the allies)

arts continues to experience changes with the growth in bilingual education. Children in our
classroom continue to grow by listening, speaking, reading and writing. Professionals diligently
guided many of us prekindergarten through fifth grade teachers at North Bridge Elementary in a
programs utilized to continue to contribute to the development of language arts in the early
childhood of many youngsters in South Texas. My first summer of in service in 2007, I was
encouraged to obtain hours or credit in the area of special needs, gifted and talented training, and
recalled bilingual students being part of this population, one would serve for many years to come.
Not realizing this would lead to a commitment in my part to a program I used in many ways,

When I participated in high school interviews last year, the interviewer always wanted to know
which sports I played. The school interviewer knew I was a student at Hillside; a boarding school
in Marlborough that housed male students from grades 5 9. Hillside is one of the well known
middle school boarding institutions in New England and is known for having one of the best
athletics programs in Massachusetts. Every time I was asked, I d just shrug it off and tell them

Like all the student athletes, I was in a demographic of kids who worked their hardest to succeed
in both academics and athletics. During my time at Hillside, I went through all the hardships that
