Recruitment Process:
The recruitment process for pharmacists in the Indian Navy typically involves the following steps:
Online Application: The first step is to keep an eye on the official Indian Navy website or employment newspapers for
recruitment notifications. When the recruitment process is open, you'll need to submit an online application form on the Indian
Navy's official website.
Written Examination: If your application is shortlisted, you might have to appear for a written examination. This examination
generally tests your knowledge in subjects related to pharmacy, general science, reasoning, and numerical ability.
Medical Examination: Qualified candidates from the written examination are usually called for a medical examination to ensure
that they meet the required medical standards set by the Indian Navy.
Interview: Shortlisted candidates after the medical examination are likely to be called for a personal interview. The interview
panel evaluates your suitability for a career in the Indian Navy.
Merit List: Based on your performance in the written examination, medical examination, and interview, a final merit list is
prepared. Candidates who make it to the merit list are considered for selection.
Training: Once selected, you will undergo training at a designated training establishment of the Indian Navy. The training
duration and curriculum can vary
4. How to be a Nuclear Pharmacist
• Obtain a certification
• After you've attended a residency and have received your license, you can
consider enrolling in a certification program. Through the program, you
learn more about radiopharmaceuticals, such as how to handle and
distribute radioactive drugs. The courses you take can also help you
prepare for a certification exam, which you need to pass to become an
Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist (ANP).
• To be eligible for this exam, you may need to:
• Attend and graduate from a certified pharmacy program that the
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has approved
• Maintain an active pharmacy license
• Have at least 4,000 hours of on-the-job training as a pharmacist

8. Complete an advanced pharmacy program
After earning your undergraduate degree in a related field, you can enroll in a
post-graduate pharmaceutical program. Depending on the program you choose,
veterinary science and pharmaceuticals may already be a part of the curriculum,
or you may have to seek out these courses yourself. You can specialize in
veterinary science by focusing on animal science-related courses and certificates
while in school.
Become a certified pharmacist with the SVHP
Though earning a certification from the Society of Veterinary Hospital
Pharmacists (SVHP) may not be strictly necessary for becoming a veterinary
pharmacist, it can be helpful. Earning an SVHP certification can improve your
credentials and enhance your resume. The SVHP is a group that aims to enhance
educational materials, sponsor workshops and educational meetings, encourage
publications, advance veterinary pharmacy, promote research and organize
committees to make recommendations.
