Purge Persuasive Speech
Despite the horrible ideas of what a purge is, the world should have one. There have been two movies
made about purges, so it must be a good idea to have one for ourselves. The benefits of having a purge
are, it is a stress reliever, controls the population count, and for a few hours you could be the most
powerful person. Purging is a great concept that everyone should be open to. Have you ever wanted to
get rid of all of your stress? Well having a purge would help you do exactly that. The thrill of killing
someone makes you forget everything entirely and just focus on the person you are killing. Maybe
there are certain people who make you stressed, kill them and your stress is gone forever. Now the
purge is only for a few hours so if you have multiple people who cause you to have stress, move very
quickly. (appeal to authority) The earth has entirely too many humans inhabiting it. Purging would
help resolve this issue. There are 7 billion on this planet and roughly 320 million in the United States,
so if we as a country had a purge and everyone killed at least one human then the population would
decrease drastically. The world is very much over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be Donald Trump or Harry Styles just for one day. Having all of the fame and power that your little
heart could dream of. Well this thought has crossed my mind frequently and purging would help me
accomplish this goal. I wouldn t want to be Harry Styles but I would like to be a powerful as him. I am
quite certain that I am not alone in this thought. Even though the purge is notorious for killing, I would
by no means kill Harry Styles, I would just take his identity since all crime is legal. Then when
purging hours are over I would go back to my daily life which includes, sitting on my couch and
loathing in my own self pity. Knowing that I could be this powerful would be the greatest achievement
of my life, even though it is for a few hours.

Essay on Greek Mythology and Hercules
Capturing the Herculean Hero Ancient Greek and Roman mythology are polytheistic religions that
emerged in Western Europe thousands of years ago. Both cultures believe in mostly the same gods and
demigods, also known as half gods, but have different names to designate them. Perhaps the most
famous demigod known most notably for his superhuman strength is Hercules, the Roman name for
the Greek demigod Heracles. The superman like figure is even more popular in mythology than
certain gods and goddesses. Over time, artists and sculptors have attempted to depict Hercules through
different types of material and physical poses. Although each depiction has its own individuality in the
material by which it was created and the stance the demigod ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He also draws the viewer s eye to Hercules in particular by using chiaroscuro (Sporre 60) and
contrasting light and shade. The artist highlights the hero with light colors for a skin tone and
engulfing him with dark and gloomy colors. One of the most intriguing features of this piece of work
is the muscle definition in Hercules s body and Zurbaran s ability to capture the demigod in motion.
Hercules is shown as an extremely toned tall, young man with a dark beard and thick hair. By the
creases in his leg muscles, Hercules is sent in motion and it is evident that the hero is using all his
might to pull the beast towards him in order to control him. Thousands of years ago, before artists
work fell into the category and style of art that existed during their time period, art was portrayed
mostly through carved slabs or marble or stone. Art has existed since years before the Common Era
and date all the way back to prehistory. It has helped historians and scientists understand the lifestyles
in which past civilizations had followed. In Ancient Rome and Greece, for example, many artists
sculpted religious figures in accordance to their polytheistic, mythological beliefs. Almost every artist,
if not all, of these sculptures remains unknown to this day but their work lives on to inspire others.
One work in particular that

He instilled a spirit of well being and created a company where 70% of its managerial staff was
recruited from hourly workers in the stores (ICMR 2003). Transferring this particular work culture to
foreign countries has been a struggle for local employees. Walmart Stores, Inc. has had to adjust their
company culture to transition more smoothly into certain markets. Walmart s rapid international
growth created a lack of quality management. Managers in foreign countries were unable to speak the
language of that particular country, therefore creating a swarm of problems. The language barrier was
not the only issue, cultural differences accounted for the majority of the issues. It wasn t until the
company chose to decentralize management authority from their headquarters to their International
division that each leader of their market was able to freely manage their operations and merchandising
(Zellner, Schidt, 2001). Walmart has attempted to recruit top management for each market from the
host country. For example, Rai Jain the Managing Director and CEO of Walmart India is a native of
India. However not all of the market leaders are from the host country. An example would be Steve

The Authored Object in interested in investigating the contemporary role of the author in architecture.
Using linguistic construction as defined by theorists Noam Chomsky and Roland Barthes, this paper
traces the various roles of the a uthor m edium v iewers have had to each other throughout the 21st
century and how the evolving linguistic structures have affected the way viewers interact with objects
and assessed meaning.
The Authored Object will propose a new type of linguistic organization utilizing contemporary
technologies to hypothesize how inhabitants experience can be enriched by introducing a semiological
architecture. Expanding on the notion of the double reading, literal and contextual, in linguistics and
outlined by Noam Chomsky and later expanded to a theory of double readings in imagery by Roland
Barthes; the Authored Object expands the discussion to readings for a formal architectural object with

Akin to the concept of body language, The Authored Object proposes to utilize technological

Best Explanations In Aristotle s Debate

Debate: Topic #2 Superiority: what Aristotle believes he has in regards to his account of scientific
explanation in comparison to Democritus opinions. Fundamentally, in a writing of defense instigated
towards Democritus, Aristotle claims that the best explanations involving form and matter are simple,
general, and relevant; in addition, he states that self nutrition and reproduction comprise of the
capacity of the soul, virtue, and life of animals and plants: an explanation called for the sake of which

An animal or plant is an organic whole, a complicated system of interrelated capacities ( Aristotle on
Teleological Explanation , pg. 76), which serve as self maintaining, according to Aristotle. He also
believes that this capacity to maintain functional states through self nutrition and to propagate them
through reproduction is the mark that sets off the living from the lifeless ( Aristotle on Teleological
Explanation , pg. 76) and also means that the facility to ingest and use food is essential for life. He
claims that self nutrition, with reproduction, is the first and most common capacity of soul, the one in
virtue of which life belongs to all that has life ( Aristotle on Teleological Explanation , pg. 76).
Describing more upon his elucidation of this subject matter, Aristotle looks deeply at what, in essence,
makes life, saying that the parts of a plant, like the parts of an animal, are for the sake of life (
Aristotle on Teleological Explanation , pg. 76). Specific parts work together to create and sustain life

shot than anyone to get the golden ticket because he wants it more than anyone else. Charlie has the

Race In Sociology
Race is a concept that was socially constructed to structure a hierarchical order that poses some races
as superior to others. This concept is unable to explain human genome variation and evolution, thus
nullifying the flawed concept with scientific evidence. Human variation occurs because of evolution, a
biological process that all organisms involuntary undergo so that they can adapt to their environment
to maximize their chances of survival. In contrast, race explains human variation as physical
differences that determine power of one group over another. To truly understand why race is such an
uneducated and outdated idea, one must study the semantics of the term, why it was socially
constructed, the genetic evidence that proves that we are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People believe that populations that evolved together constitutes a race. They think that Blacks are one
race that stayed in Africa, Asians are another race that migrated to Asia, and Whites are another race
because they moved to Europe. But these groups only represent the extreme physical differences in
humans. And these groups only represent a small percentage of the world s people, which is not
useful. As human history progressed and humans moved out of Africa, they were always
differentiating along the way. Race cannot explain the incredible diversity of mankind; it is not
possible to organize this huge diversity of 7 billion people into so few categories. Shared traits are not
random. For example, the dark skin of Somalian and Ghanaian people indicates that they evolved
under heavy sun rays. But that s all it shows; they are not more closely related (using genetic
evidence) than any other group in the world. Sharon Begley argues that labeling Somalians and
Ghanaians as Blacks does not show anything about their evolutionary history and even falsely
assumes that they are more closely related than someone of another race (Begley 67). Humans are all
Homo sapiens, the species to which all modern human beings belong. Humans slowly evolve based on
their environment, not because a race gene determines their race. Other examples include Similarly,

The Political Party At The Democratic Party
Internet Assignment
Political Party Research:
1. I am attracted to the Democratic Party. I took the political party quiz and answered the questions as
honestly as I could. I found the questions to be very interesting and versatile. After viewing my results
I looked into The Green Party some more. I am basically an environmentalist and believe taxes are
affecting the lower classes and something needs to be done about it. I agreed with all of these issues.
2. The top 5 issues are jobs, families, health, education and infrastructure. These have been goals of
the Democratic Party for many years. I believe these are interesting goals and also ones I believe have
issues. There s plenty of room for improvement when it comes to securing family funds, giving jobs to
everyone who qualifies for them, and improving the education we give to our young citizens.
3. When it comes to jobs, the Democratic Party has worked with President Obama to stabilize the
financial system and help prevent a second degree depression. Since the recession 15 million private
sector jobs have become available and the unemployment rate has dropped 5% for the first time in the
last decade. The Democratic Party has also helped expand public options when it comes to education.
They decided they were going to pay teachers like any other professional and thought about rebuilding
schools. They also hired 100,000 more teachers to reduce class sizes and provide students with a
better way of learning. They have fought

Nazi Germany, The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria Essay
Imagine a country that is run by insane government officials with a military consisting of blood crazed
and psychopathic soldiers who conquer land by force and murders anyone that does not agree with
their values or beliefs. You might think that this thought could be the center of a suspenseful film, but
sadly this is a case that takes place right now in reality. One could compare these actions to Nazi
Germany, Fascist Italy, or the Soviet Union but those countries are long gone and are not committing
such crimes today. Right now, at this moment, today s Nazi Germany is the Islamic State of Iraq and
Syria. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, more commonly known as ISIS , is the country that is
committing war crimes, violating international law, and promotes rape and sexual slavery today at this
very moment. Therefore, I believe it is the United States duty and moral obligation to launch a full
scale military ground force to fight and eliminate all forces of the Islamic State. People in the United
States may wonder how the problems of genocide, rape, and sexual slavery in the Middle East
committed by the Islamic State affect them. The fact that citizens of the United States wonder how the
problems in the Middle East pertaining to the Islamic State affect them is a valid thought to ponder
about being that most of us have always lived in a safe, secure, and civilized society and environment

The Current Osha Recordkeeping Regulation 29 Cfr 1904
Under the current OSHA recordkeeping regulation 29 CFR 1904, employers are required to maintain
an accurate record of workplace injuries and illnesses. Information contained in these records is
important in helping OSHA identify workplace hazards and implementing protections to reduce risks
within the workplace.1 Recording and reporting a work related injury does not mean that the employer
or employee was at fault or that an OSHA rule has been violated.2 It is simply meant to inform
OSHA, employers, and employees of potential hazards. Exceptions to this rule include employers with
fewer than 10 full time employees and some low risk industries such as retail, finance, insurance or
real estate.1 However, all employers must report incidents leading to a fatality or the hospitalization of
three or more employees.3 A proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904.41 to add three new electronic
reporting methods. The comment period for this proposed rule expired on October 14, 2014 and is
now in the final stages of the rule making process. This proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904 in the
following ways: first, employers with over 250 employees in the previous calendar year will be
required to submit electronic records every quarter. Second, employers with over 20 employees in the
last calendar year will be required to electronically submit their reports annually. Lastly, all employers
that keep injury and illness records are required to submit these records electronically.4 Much of this

Why Do People Really Good At Heart
Anne Frank stated in her diary that In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at
heart. This quote goes to show how optimistic she really was. She hoped that underneath all of the
hatred that not only the Nazis beheld, but perhaps also the people that she was hiding with for years,
there was at least a small amount of good in them. Personally, I have no clue how she could think that
such horrible people are actually good at heart, but her personality definitely reflected it. In addition to
this quote indicating that she was optimistic, it suggests that she had hope. She most likely was aware
that the Nazi s were not good at heart, but she refused to take that as a fact, and she wanted to make
herself think otherwise.

The Dangers Of Teen Driving
Introduction Teen driving allows American youth to have their license between the ages 13 15. At this
age, our American youth are more likely to be careless while driving without supervision. The
younger teen drivers are the more susceptible to fatal car accidents they will be due to the lack of
supervision and proper driver s education. Lack of maturity and experiences leads to developing poor
driving habits. The teens in the age group 16 18 are usually more mature in handling a motorized
vehicle. States that allow 13 15 year old teens drive are more likely to get in more car crashes from
driving earlier and not having enough experience.
Theoretical Basis: Conflict Perspective The conflict perspective best explains the issue of young teen
driving and their high number of crashes. States in America believe that teens should practice to get
ready to pass the behind the wheel test. The more people practice behind the wheel, the better they are
at driving a motorized vehicle. So, it is important that teens received the best opportunity they can
with the behind the wheel driving supervisor in order to potentially reduce fatal car crashes among
teens in America.
Individualized instruction is different for each state for behind the wheel. Some states do not have
enough supervised hours which puts teens at the top of fatal crash rates. Individual states that have
about 40 or more supervised hours and have lower crash rates are for example, the state of Minnesota.
This state has 40 supervised hours for teens of which they have to log before they are able to take the
drivers test. ( The Children s Hospital...).
In Minnesota if the parents do not attend the drivers education meeting before the class starts their
child would have to log 50 hours before they turn 16 to take their driver s test. This helps since
Minnesota has 40 or more supervised hours to practice driving. Minnesota is in the first group for not
having fatal car crashes in teens. South Dakota has one of the worst teen fatal car crash rates mostly
because they have no supervised hours to meet before they take the behind the wheel test. This
demonstrate an example of the conflict theory because due to lack of resources a conflict has occurred

Essay On The World Revolution Of 1968
ORIGIN OF THE UPRISALS
There have been many speculations on the fundamental origins of the World Revolution of 1968.
Although these speculations agree on the background reasons of political protests centering the year,
arguments vary on the attribution to the social changes during the two decades that followed the World
War II. The World Revolution of 1968 was not something that materialized out of thin air; it was an
epicenter of social changes that took place over the course of two decades.
With the great help of United States, the world especially Europe was recovering from the disasters of
the World War II. The status quo of the west seemed on the way to restoration if not actually already
rejuvenated. The stimulated economic growth saw many young adults pursuing their studies to
university level as the world strived to survive the aftermath of the World Wars. The endeavors to
move forward and focus on ensuring the sustainability formulated a silent consensus to give way to
peaceful prosperity and low tolerance to any fabrications of war. Thus, the continual engagement of
wars definitely exhausted the world system into an arena of a period of basically crafting the main
characteristics of the then ensuing Cold War.

Lithium Ion Batteries For Electric Vehicle Batteries Essay
Introduction
A lithium ion (Li ion) battery is a type of rechargeable battery which uses a lithium ion that moves
from a positive electrode (cathode) to a negative electrode (anode) during charging and vice versa
during discharge. Lithium ion batteries are less environmentally damaging than batteries containing
heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury, but recycling them is still far preferable to incinerating
them or sending them to landfill. Lithium ion batteries are made up of one or more generating
compartments called cells. Each cell is composed of three components: an anode, a cathode, and a
chemical called an electrolyte in between them.
Lithium ion batteries are becoming more common in portable electronic devices due to their high
energy density, lack of memory effect, and high charge and discharge rate capabilities. Research and
development work is ongoing to improve safety and increase capacity, charge/discharge rate, and
lifetime. Demand for electric vehicle batteries is currently small, but it is expected to grow very
quickly. China, Japan, South Korea, France, and the United States are the major lithium ion battery
manufacturers for hybrid and electric vehicle applications.
A lot of information from different sources was gathered with the purpose of comparing different Li
ion batteries mechanisms, cathode and anode materials, structure and fabrication procedures, and their
respective advantages and disadvantages.

Government actions are often secretive, canceling out the idea of transparency for citizens. Often
times, positions of power or wealth in Russia have the ability to hide fraud in the system from citizens.

or have information provided of governmental proceedings. This reduces the amount information

While individual rights in Russia are outlined in the constitution, often times these rights are not

Solution Focused Therapy ( Sft )
Clients come for mental health treatment for a variety of different reasons and there are a variety of
different approaches that can be used to assist those clients. Solution focused therapy (SFT) is one of
those approaches. Examined are the treatment approach of SFT, the theory associated, evidence to
support the treatment, the effectiveness with youth and culturally diverse clients, and the limitation of
the approach. SFT treatment approach can be used with an individual and or families. The treatment
emphasizes the strengths and sources of resiliency that a client or family has to promote positive
change (Hook, 2014). The therapy enables the client to focus on solutions from the past that could be
helpful in creating new realities (Hook, 2014). One of the inventors of SFT referred to it as a way to
carry on a practical conversation with clients (Jong, 2015). The conversation is used to co construct
solutions. The clinician asks questions not knowing the response (Jong, 2015). Furthermore, the
conversations focus on what the client wants to be different and how to make that occur (Jong, 2015).
While using SFT the clinician has several assumptions that guide the sessions. First, a client is
competent to co construct goals (Jong, 2015). Second, the client is the expert of their own life (Jong,
2015). Third, the problem and solution do not necessarily have a connection (Jong, 2015). Fourth, the
client has to do something different for change to occur (Jong, 2015). Fifth,

Chronic Illness Research Paper
Introduction
Chronic illness is a disease that persists for a long time. A chronic disease is one lasting three months
or more, by the definition of the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics. Although Chronic Illness is
dangerous, people often overlook depression, and a lot of time they run close together. Depression
(major depressive disorder or clinical depression) is a common however a severe mood disorder. It
causes extreme indications that influence how you feel, think, and handle daily exercises like;
sleeping, eating, or working. To be diagnosed by a psychiatrist with depression disorder, one must

Depression can affect college students in all aspects of life; physically, mentally, and emotionally. The
students who reported that they were depressed also stated that they considered their health fair or
poor (Lindsey 2009). In their cases, depression not only affects them psychologically but also
physically. Students with chronic illness who experience depression become more at risk for suicidal
thoughts, or their condition to worsen because they are extremely stressed. Depression plays a huge
role in college students with chronic illness such as bipolar mood diseases, or any chronic illness that
requires medication. Depression sometimes alters your decision making and can cause one to be not as
concerned with their overall health. Disrupted decisions can produce episodes, or their current chronic
illness to worsen. Chronic illness and depression affect one another, despite which one is presented

Terrorism And Terrorism
When a White man commits a terror act, why is that they are never called terrorist? Why does the
word terrorist only implied to Muslims? What promotes the idea of terrorist? Is terrorism only
implying to someone who commits an act of terror? Or Is it based on being a Muslim or brown, rather
than an act? After 9/11, Muslims were attacked for their religion, up till now according to Lydia O
Connor . Muslims have faced discrimination and hate on the religion because others see Islam as a
threat and a way to promote violence. This is also known as Islamophobia . Muslims are specifically
targeted because of how the media such as Fox News implies them as terrorists . FOX News is a one
of the largest channel in all cable and is a mainstream media in America, where millions of viewers as
exposed to how they reverses the logic of the word terrorist and gives a new meaning that Muslims or
brown are terrorist. The lack of accountability of Fox News holds and presents that Muslims or brown
are terrorist. Nearly sixteen years later, Islamophobia has not improved, the word terrorist became a
word where it s based on perceptions and judgments on appearance. Fox News usage of the word
shows that it is not someone who commits an act of terror, but is given an identity to Muslims and
implied them as terrorist. The word terrorist is only used towards Muslims in Fox news. The term
terrorism has become politicized that the word terrorist is seen as someone who is Muslim or brown.

Conspiracy Theory Of Autism And Autism
Millions upon millions of people would die everyday form deadly disease and there was nothing
anyone could do about it. As a result, vaccinations were created to stop the sickness and mass tragedy
that came along with them. The measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations (MMR), that are supposed
to help are being questioned by people believing they are linked to Autism. Numerous studies have
shown that there is no connection between the two. The holes and lies in this theory are prevalent
when looking in depth at how this theory was established, whom it benefits if it s true, and the facts
that disprove it. Science is supposed, to tell the truth, but because humans are the ones performing the
experiments sometimes there are flaws. For instance, Andre Wakefield in 1998 of Royal Free Hospital
in London, England, said the Measles, Mumps, and rubella vaccines were to blame for autism.
Andrew Wakefield came to this conclusion based on results found in eight out of twelve children. His
results were then published in a medical journal called Lancet. Andrew Wakefield condemnation of
vaccination caused the public to become scared ( vaccinations and Autism . . .). Andrew Wakefield s
research was the starting point of the conspiracy theory that the measles, mumps, and rubella
vaccinations cause Autism. Furthermore, It made people, especially parents of autistic kids, question
and lose trust in vaccinations. Without Wakefield s research people, might not question vaccinations as

Agricultural Policy in the United States
The beginning of agricultural policy in the United States situated around developmental policy until
the great depression. The impact of the Great Depression led to farmers losing money, and the United
States Government to begin passing laws to distribute subsidies to farmers. Government subsidies and
tax policies have both helpful and harmful impacts to the environment. The government has regulated
farming in the United States to domestically have little international competition through laws enacted
after the Great Depression. More recent laws have manipulated farming to become more than a means
of self sustenance, but a corporate capital oriented industry. The impact of federal policy in agriculture
on the environment has ultimately benefited large scale agribusinesses at the cost to taxpayers, small
farmers, and the environment. The federal government offers a wide range of aid to farmers,
including: price supports and price floor programs; crop insurance against both lost crops and lower
than expected prices; government purchases of excess food stocks; and promotion of domestic crops
through international trade agreements. The United States was forced to develop agriculture price and
income support policies after the end of World War I due to the closing of major international export
markets. The passing of laws of agricultural subsidies, a price aid to farmers grew from the farm
income and financial crises. Agricultural subsidies are justified as necessary to

in the Impressionist movement. Impressionists faced criticism at first, as it was considered a radical
departure from tradition. They were looked down upon and rejected by academic institutions, which

Robert Sternberg Essay
In the modern world, there is a difficult word that people are facing and having a hard time to identify
it, which is the word love. Nonetheless, there is a triangular theory that carried out by Robert
Sternberg which helps people to understand love. The three angles are used to represent three
dimensions (intimacy, passion, and commitment), and each point represent the extreme of each
dimension. This essay mainly discusses about Robert Sternberg and how to improve the current
relationship.
The three element are easy to understand. Firstly, Intimacy, the top of the triangle, is the feeling of
closeness and how close your partner and you are. Beside, commitment, the right side of the triangle,
is the decision people make to stay in the relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If two people are together for a couple months and feel close about each other but have yet to think
about future commitment is a form of like. If two people are planning to stay together and continue to
maintain a healthy sex life but do not feel very close to each other, then it is a form of fatuous love. If
a couple feel close, have a strong sexual desire, and connect emotionally but have not discussed about
future plan yet, then it is a form of romantic love. On the other hand, if this feeling appears randomly
and not always the same, then it is a companionate love. However, if you only have physical and
romantic contact with each other but nothing other than that, then it is a form of infatuation. If a love
is nothing but only commitment then it is a empty love. Nonetheless, if a love lasts 6 years and still
contains all the elements, then it is a consummate love.
Other than that, author gives out her own advice. She advocates that people with all different forms of
love should not give up easily, instead, they have to improve their relationship and try to add other

Stakeholder Salience
Introduction
Developing a relationship between and across organizations and its stakeholders can be
counterproductive and interdependent to decision making. Globalization effects stakeholder s coalition
building and salience in organizations. It is known as an ongoing process or interrelated events of
increasing movement of services, goods, and capital across national borders (Lawrence Weber 2011).
Stakeholders across organizations build coalitions as a means of increasing salience. Globalization has

Implementing and integrating this action plan could lead to a social and economic benefit with their
mission, while collaborating and working together could potentially and successfully increase and
fulfill intended goals.
For example when a particular stakeholder group demand urgent attention to a specific issue, the
importance of the group creates managerial action and creates high salience, which takes a leading
role in decision making toward corporate goals and social responsibility (Mishra Suar, 2010).
Furthermore, in order to achieve established corporate goals, best practice mitigation depends on the
understanding and decision making of the demand and supply chain as well as the interests of the
stakeholders. The success of corporate mitigation relies on the balancing of the wants and needs of the
salience groups.
Globalization affected stakeholder coalition building
Globalization can affect stakeholder coalition building either negatively or positively. Caughlin noted
that the level of communication from the overall result of a stakeholder or group of stakeholder s
significantly influence the relative power and conviction for a particular outcome which will greatly
affect the costs of the decision making process as well as time (Caughlan, 2002). In building a

Pascal s Wager Analysis
I came up with an extension of Pascal s Wager.
Pascal never addressed other religions (which makes his thesis as is very flawed), so I improved upon
it a risk calculus that included all other religions.
The idea is: in the perspective as a gambler, and the afterlife as form of gambling (in which the player
was trying their best to not receive any form of suffering), it would be the most beneficial to believe in
a religion which claims 100% hell for unbelievers while also not being mutually exclusive in benefits
from other kinds of religion.
(For example, if you are Christian, and the thesis of Buddhism is actually true, you ll still be in an
advantageous position in reincarnation if you follow Christianity out by loving others and in

Case Study Of UBER
1. I see following situations in case of UBER:
a. Competing in emerging industries: UBER has entered lots of emerging markets recently to compete
against existing ride sharing companies. There is enormous trend of shared transport not only in
developed countries like the US, but also in emerging economies where the GDP per capita is below
$12000. Ride sharing is emerging in many countries like Chile, South Africa, India, Thailand and so
on. Ordering rides through application rather than call. And rides offered by drivers using their private
cars is emerging concept in many nations. UBER is using price cuts to attract the next layer of price
sensitive customers, also it is bundling the prices with UBEREATS to lower the price. As a result of
being in emerging industry, UBER is pursuing new customer groups by entering into new
geographical areas.
b. Companies in Industry leadership positions: UBER has been leader of ride sharing industry for 10
years. Its market share may have dropped from 93% in 2014 to 74% in 2017 due to competing
companies like Lyft, Curb, Gett and taxis, UBER is still the leader in its industry. The competitive

There are four main types of Epidermolysis Bullosa, all can be fatal and they affect infants and

Relationship Between Religion And Politics
In this course, I found the connection between religion and politics the most important concept we ve
studied. With engagement and understanding of politics becoming increasingly important, it s valuable
to study the ways people both interact with politics and form their political opinions and as we ve
seen, religion can play a huge role in both of these aspects. However, the way religious groups engage
with politics can perhaps be generalizing when discussing major religions, seeing as these groups are
often widely diverse and brimming with unique experiences. Therefore, I believe it is just as important
to discuss the political dimension of religion with the social influences of ethnicity, gender, sexuality,
and the interrelations between them. Although the connections between religion and politics may be
controversial to some, it really isn t surprising that they overlap. For many people, religion and politics
are significant parts of their ideology and morals; they both shape ethical decisions and certainly
influence how we view society and the interactions within it. Politics and religion, along with
ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, are important identities that shape how others see us, and how
we see ourselves. Thus, it makes sense that religious beliefs may influence a person s politics or vice
versa. While I believe a mix of these identities, and thus personal experiences, has the greatest impact
on politics, religion clearly is a significant influence

Tectonic Convergence At The Eurasian And African
Plate tectonic convergence at a rate of about 4 mm/year between the Eurasian and African. Plates
dominates the straits of Gibraltar (Argus et al., 1989). The stratigraphic evolution of the sediment
drifts is therefore greatly influenced by both regional tectonics and ocean circulation (Medialdea et al.,
2009; Lopes et al., 2006; Terrinha et al., 2009; Zitellini et al., 2009). Coring results from Expedition
339 showed that initial contourite formation started at about 4.5 to 4.2 Ma ago with more prominent
formation of the contourite drifts taking place in the Quaternary (Expedition 339 Scientists, 2012).
Today, circulation passing through the straits of Gibraltar is noticeable and identifiable by the
exchange of warm and salty MOW with cool and less salty North Atlantic water flowing into the
Mediterranean Sea. The MOW has a temperature of about 12°C. The sill depth of the straits of
Gibraltar known as the Camarinal Sill is about 280 m. The mixing of the MOW with the North
Atlantic central water forms two water masses, one at 500 700 m depth and the other at 800 1400 m
depth (Amber and Howe, 1979; Voelker et al., 2006; Stow et al., 2011; Voelker and de Abreu, 2011).
The formation of these water masses leads to the emergence of strong bottom currents that flow
northwestward along the margin above the North Atlantic Deep water and under the Atlantic Inflow
Water. More importantly, the merging of these strong currents and the bathymetry of the Gulf of Cadiz
has led to

crush on me, besides even if he does, who cares? I didn t think Craig Tucker was a fag... Kevin
wonders out loud, where I can hear him. Fuck, fuck, fuck, Thomas. We sit in class and analyze a quote
about mortality for about a half hour, it s really deep and I feel like I m drowning. I have to talk, well
text to Thomas. I m practically ripping my fingernails off for the final bell to ring. You okay Tweek?
Kevin can tell I m a bit up in arms. Ring ring the day finally ends. I m ready to shove my homework in
my bag and probably crush Thomas s dreams. The rush of everyone trying to escape school annoys me
so I just chill at my locker and text Thomas. (To Thomas) Holy fuck, Kevin insinuated that Craig had
a boner for me and called him a fag, Red alert! RED ALERT! That should get the message across. I
eventually throw my backpack across my shoulders and head out to the van. Thank fuck that s over,

Body Modifications
Participants: For my research question, I will have to find a sample out of the population who had
body modifications to be participants of my research. Participants that I wish to seek include people
who voluntarily got a body modification to change their physical appearance. I would like to sample
females and males from ages starting at 18. Although my target population is people who have body
modifications, I want a variety of participants ranging from people with and without body
modifications in order to provide variation in my data.
Procedure and Instruments: In the research I am trying to conduct, I am seeking to study the
relationship between body modifications and bullying. I will be conducting my research by using both
a quantitative and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, a qualitative research is more exploratory and the research has more control in the
research. Qualitative research can be conducted through interviews. It is good to use qualitative
methods in your research, but one can only use a small sample and often it is not representative. Both
methods complement each other in their weaknesses and strengths, so it is good to use both in a
research design. In the inductive approach of looking at my research, I would use the qualitative
method to perform interviews. I would have to pick a subject that has body modifications and a topic
guide to guide my interviews. In my interview, I would ask the subject about his or her background. I
would also ask questions that are related to the topic of bullying, culture, media, and family. I want to
explore other factors that might influence the person in getting body modifications. Through I would
then code the interview and assign a social type to the interviewee. For the following interviews, I
would want to pick a participant that is different from the previous participant in order to

Themes Of Unwholly Society
An Unwholly Society
The dystopian novel Unwholly, the second book in the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman, is a
twisted story of a futuristic world where life is not valued in the same way as it is today. When
government advertises and pays citizens to make bad choices, it makes the society corrupt and
inhumane. One corrupt thing about this society is that parents can choose to Unwind their children.
Unwinding is when parents can turn their kids over to the government and the government takes the
children apart and uses their body parts for different purposes. A possible theme for Unwholly is that
by following a corrupt society, people begin to develop selfish behavior.
Neal Shusterman uses intense actions and exaggerated description to make his books unique and to
help show the theme and help the reader picture the scene. One area of the book that shows
Shusterman s craft is Starkey s goodbye scene. The book states Stop! yells their father, as their mother
begins to cry (Shusterman 7). These mixed emotions between the parents add emphasis to the scene
and show the reader that the parents are not happy with the situation. The father yelling is included to
show that he was upset and that he was scared, and because the father felt this way the reader can
conclude that he was pressured into unwinding his son. While the father is yelling, Starkey s mother is
crying. Crying is very different from yelling, but when Starkey s mother cries it is another

Cereal Is A Common Household Breakfast Item Developed By...
Cereal is a common household breakfast item developed in the United States and produced using
processed grains. In 1830, Dr. Sylvester Graham, a Presbyterian minister, in expressing his distaste for
the traditional carnivorous English breakfast and preaching Christian vegetarianism, developed
Graham flour , the first modern whole wheat grain flour , and Graham crackers, made of Graham
flours. Subsequently, Dr. James Jackson of New York, [purchased] large quantities of Graham flour,
[baked] them up, [rebaked] them, and [broke] them again to create a breakfast product named granula,
and that became the first modern breakfast cereal manufactured. In 1887, John Harvey Kellogg, a
Michiganite and follower of Graham and his dietary reforms, ... Show more content on

Out of these countries, the breakfast cereal manufacturing industry is the most prosperous and well
documented in the United States, the country that invented breakfast cereal. Figure 1: American Map
of Winter Wheat Productions
Breakfast cereal is made of wheat, which is generally produced by harvesting grains from commercial
crops. Depending on winter conditions, wheat could be grown as a winter crop or as a spring crop.
Modern wheat farmers use an apparatus called combine harvester to collect wheat products, which
could harvest wheat automatically without requiring extensive labor on wheat farmers . According to
the U.S. Department of Agriculture s Statistical Services Bureau, the average farm size in the United
States is 432 acres in 2012, a 3.8 percent increase from the 2007 figure of 418 acres. However, only
1/3 of these lands are exclusively used for grain harvesting. Specifically,

Dr. Martin Luther King
Even though Martin Luther King Junior and Mahatma Gandhi both struggled, I think that the charisma
in them influenced social change, because of their tactics used, like non violence. Martin Luther King
Junior and Gandhi both functions as charismatic leaders and influenced others with their fascinatingly
positive attitudes. It was hard for them to get there message s and world view s across but they
remained strong and preserved through their struggles, no matter how tough things got. Gandhi
transmitted his message without resorting to violence and Martian Luther King Junior learned from
Gandhi and shows why non violence is key. Charisma is the social energy that arches between a leader
and a community (Kripal 212). This definition of charisma is better for Martin Luther King Junior. He
showed so much charisma in his motivational speeches he gave to huge crowds, some even
memorable to this day. Max Weber incorporated both psychological and sociological elements in his
definition of charisma (Barnes 1). He defined charisma as a certain quality of an individual s
personality by virtue of which he is set apart from ordinary men and treated as endowed with
supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities (Barnes 1). Now I
wouldn t say that either of these leaders are supernatural or superhuman, but they do have exceptional
qualities that they set the apart from the average individual. Some examples of these qualities would
be both had a

Analyse Negative Consequences And Reinforcement
4. List master teacher s rules for student behavior (in addition to procedures):
Students are required to listen to what the teacher says at all times. Before going to the teacher with a
problem with a fellow student, they have to work it out first. However, the younger grades usually go
to the teacher first; however, the teacher will tell them to work it out. This ends up working the
majority of the time, though there are times when the teacher needs to step in.
5. Evaluate positive consequences and reinforcement (positive rewards) used:
If a student worked hard and tried their best, they got to put a sticker on their chart. Once they get a
certain amount, a student earns a prize.

The Economic Impact of the Olympic Games
Abstract Since de Second World War , there has been a substantial increase in the range of events
worldwide, varying from single day fetes and fairs to major sporting and cultural festivals.
Special events are seen to have the ability to produce a wide range of significant economic and social
benefits for communities and regions. In seeking to understand the field of special events, I took as a
case study the Olympic Games mega event.
KEYWORDS: special events, Olympic games, mega events, economic impact, investments
INTRODUCTION
The fundamental aim of this research is to measure the economic impact of the Olympics globally,
regional and local. During the 1990s, there has been a growing number of people advocating a move

As well as providing opportunities to increase direct expenditure at a destination, they can also
contribute substantially to a destination s range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for the
destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the construction of
new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by governments and tourism
marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to specialise in the creation and
hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for
conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events.
The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance
of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon
more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of
the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in
order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value
of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities
to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism
development agencies, special interest groups, and the

  • 2. Purge Persuasive Speech Despite the horrible ideas of what a purge is, the world should have one. There have been two movies made about purges, so it must be a good idea to have one for ourselves. The benefits of having a purge are, it is a stress reliever, controls the population count, and for a few hours you could be the most powerful person. Purging is a great concept that everyone should be open to. Have you ever wanted to get rid of all of your stress? Well having a purge would help you do exactly that. The thrill of killing someone makes you forget everything entirely and just focus on the person you are killing. Maybe there are certain people who make you stressed, kill them and your stress is gone forever. Now the purge is only for a few hours so if you have multiple people who cause you to have stress, move very quickly. (appeal to authority) The earth has entirely too many humans inhabiting it. Purging would help resolve this issue. There are 7 billion on this planet and roughly 320 million in the United States, so if we as a country had a purge and everyone killed at least one human then the population would decrease drastically. Well this thought has crossed my mind frequently and purging would help me accomplish this goal. I wouldn t want to be Harry Styles but I would like to be a powerful as him. I am quite certain that I am not alone in this thought. Even though the purge is notorious for killing, I would by no means kill Harry Styles, I would just take his identity since all crime is legal. Then when purging hours are over I would go back to my daily life which includes, sitting on my couch and loathing in my own self pity. Knowing that I could be this powerful would be the greatest achievement of my life, even though it is for a few hours. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Greek Mythology and Hercules Capturing the Herculean Hero Ancient Greek and Roman mythology are polytheistic religions that emerged in Western Europe thousands of years ago. Both cultures believe in mostly the same gods and demigods, also known as half gods, but have different names to designate them. Perhaps the most famous demigod known most notably for his superhuman strength is Hercules, the Roman name for the Greek demigod Heracles. The superman like figure is even more popular in mythology than certain gods and goddesses. Over time, artists and sculptors have attempted to depict Hercules through different types of material and physical poses. He also draws the viewer s eye to Hercules in particular by using chiaroscuro (Sporre 60) and contrasting light and shade. The artist highlights the hero with light colors for a skin tone and engulfing him with dark and gloomy colors. One of the most intriguing features of this piece of work is the muscle definition in Hercules s body and Zurbaran s ability to capture the demigod in motion. Hercules is shown as an extremely toned tall, young man with a dark beard and thick hair. By the creases in his leg muscles, Hercules is sent in motion and it is evident that the hero is using all his might to pull the beast towards him in order to control him. Thousands of years ago, before artists work fell into the category and style of art that existed during their time period, art was portrayed mostly through carved slabs or marble or stone. Art has existed since years before the Common Era and date all the way back to prehistory. It has helped historians and scientists understand the lifestyles in which past civilizations had followed. In Ancient Rome and Greece, for example, many artists sculpted religious figures in accordance to their polytheistic, mythological beliefs. Almost every artist, if not all, of these sculptures remains unknown to this day but their work lives on to inspire others. One work in particular that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Walmart Stores, Inc. has had to adjust their company culture to transition more smoothly into certain markets. Walmart s rapid international growth created a lack of quality management. Managers in foreign countries were unable to speak the language of that particular country, therefore creating a swarm of problems. The language barrier was not the only issue, cultural differences accounted for the majority of the issues. It wasn t until the company chose to decentralize management authority from their headquarters to their International division that each leader of their market was able to freely manage their operations and merchandising (Zellner, Schidt, 2001). He claims that self nutrition, with reproduction, is the first and most common capacity of soul, the one in virtue of which life belongs to all that has life ( Aristotle on Teleological Explanation , pg. 76). This concept is unable to explain human genome variation and evolution, thus nullifying the flawed concept with scientific evidence. Human variation occurs because of evolution, a biological process that all organisms involuntary undergo so that they can adapt to their environment to maximize their chances of survival. In contrast, race explains human variation as physical differences that determine power of one group over another. To truly understand why race is such an uneducated and outdated idea, one must study the semantics of the term, why it was socially constructed, the genetic evidence that proves that we are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People believe that populations that evolved together constitutes a race. They think that Blacks are one race that stayed in Africa, Asians are another race that migrated to Asia, and Whites are another race because they moved to Europe. But these groups only represent the extreme physical differences in humans. And these groups only represent a small percentage of the world s people, which is not useful. As human history progressed and humans moved out of Africa, they were always differentiating along the way. Race cannot explain the incredible diversity of mankind; it is not possible to organize this huge diversity of 7 billion people into so few categories. Shared traits are not random. For example, the dark skin of Somalian and Ghanaian people indicates that they evolved under heavy sun rays. But that s all it shows; they are not more closely related (using genetic evidence) than any other group in the world. Sharon Begley argues that labeling Somalians and Ghanaians as Blacks does not show anything about their evolutionary history and even falsely assumes that they are more closely related than someone of another race (Begley 67). After viewing my results I looked into The Green Party some more. I am basically an environmentalist and believe taxes are affecting the lower classes and something needs to be done about it. I agreed with all of these issues. 2. The top 5 issues are jobs, families, health, education and infrastructure. These have been goals of the Democratic Party for many years. I believe these are interesting goals and also ones I believe have issues. There s plenty of room for improvement when it comes to securing family funds, giving jobs to everyone who qualifies for them, and improving the education we give to our young citizens. 3. When it comes to jobs, the Democratic Party has worked with President Obama to stabilize the financial system and help prevent a second degree depression. Since the recession 15 million private sector jobs have become available and the unemployment rate has dropped 5% for the first time in the last decade. The Democratic Party has also helped expand public options when it comes to education. They decided they were going to pay teachers like any other professional and thought about rebuilding schools. • 11. Nazi Germany, The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria Essay Imagine a country that is run by insane government officials with a military consisting of blood crazed and psychopathic soldiers who conquer land by force and murders anyone that does not agree with their values or beliefs. You might think that this thought could be the center of a suspenseful film, but sadly this is a case that takes place right now in reality. One could compare these actions to Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or the Soviet Union but those countries are long gone and are not committing such crimes today. Right now, at this moment, today s Nazi Germany is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, more commonly known as ISIS , is the country that is committing war crimes, violating international law, and promotes rape and sexual slavery today at this very moment. Therefore, I believe it is the United States duty and moral obligation to launch a full scale military ground force to fight and eliminate all forces of the Islamic State. People in the United States may wonder how the problems of genocide, rape, and sexual slavery in the Middle East committed by the Islamic State affect them. The fact that citizens of the United States wonder how the problems in the Middle East pertaining to the Islamic State affect them is a valid thought to ponder about being that most of us have always lived in a safe, secure, and civilized society and environment that the thought of any of problems such as genocide and sexual slavery happening ... • 12. The Current Osha Recordkeeping Regulation 29 Cfr 1904 Under the current OSHA recordkeeping regulation 29 CFR 1904, employers are required to maintain an accurate record of workplace injuries and illnesses. Information contained in these records is important in helping OSHA identify workplace hazards and implementing protections to reduce risks within the workplace.1 Recording and reporting a work related injury does not mean that the employer or employee was at fault or that an OSHA rule has been violated.2 It is simply meant to inform OSHA, employers, and employees of potential hazards. Exceptions to this rule include employers with fewer than 10 full time employees and some low risk industries such as retail, finance, insurance or real estate.1 However, all employers must report incidents leading to a fatality or the hospitalization of three or more employees.3 A proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904.41 to add three new electronic reporting methods. The comment period for this proposed rule expired on October 14, 2014 and is now in the final stages of the rule making process. This proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904 in the following ways: first, employers with over 250 employees in the previous calendar year will be required to submit electronic records every quarter. Second, employers with over 20 employees in the last calendar year will be required to electronically submit their reports annually. • 14. The Dangers Of Teen Driving Introduction Teen driving allows American youth to have their license between the ages 13 15. At this age, our American youth are more likely to be careless while driving without supervision. The younger teen drivers are the more susceptible to fatal car accidents they will be due to the lack of supervision and proper driver s education. Lack of maturity and experiences leads to developing poor driving habits. The teens in the age group 16 18 are usually more mature in handling a motorized vehicle. States that allow 13 15 year old teens drive are more likely to get in more car crashes from driving earlier and not having enough experience. Theoretical Basis: Conflict Perspective The conflict perspective best explains the issue of young teen driving and their high number of crashes. States in America believe that teens should practice to get ready to pass the behind the wheel test. The more people practice behind the wheel, the better they are at driving a motorized vehicle. So, it is important that teens received the best opportunity they can with the behind the wheel driving supervisor in order to potentially reduce fatal car crashes among teens in America. Individualized instruction is different for each state for behind the wheel. Some states do not have enough supervised hours which puts teens at the top of fatal crash rates. Individual states that have about 40 or more supervised hours and have lower crash rates are for example, the state of Minnesota. This state has 40 supervised hours for teens of which they have to log before they are able to take the drivers test. ( The Children s Hospital...). In Minnesota if the parents do not attend the drivers education meeting before the class starts their child would have to log 50 hours before they turn 16 to take their driver s test. This helps since Minnesota has 40 or more supervised hours to practice driving. Minnesota is in the first group for not having fatal car crashes in teens. South Dakota has one of the worst teen fatal car crash rates mostly because they have no supervised hours to meet before they take the behind the wheel test. This demonstrate an example of the conflict theory because due to lack of resources a conflict has occurred for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Essay On The World Revolution Of 1968 ORIGIN OF THE UPRISALS There have been many speculations on the fundamental origins of the World Revolution of 1968. Although these speculations agree on the background reasons of political protests centering the year, arguments vary on the attribution to the social changes during the two decades that followed the World War II. The World Revolution of 1968 was not something that materialized out of thin air; it was an epicenter of social changes that took place over the course of two decades. With the great help of United States, the world especially Europe was recovering from the disasters of the World War II. The status quo of the west seemed on the way to restoration if not actually already rejuvenated. The stimulated economic growth saw many young adults pursuing their studies to university level as the world strived to survive the aftermath of the World Wars. The endeavors to move forward and focus on ensuring the sustainability formulated a silent consensus to give way to peaceful prosperity and low tolerance to any fabrications of war. • 16. Lithium Ion Batteries For Electric Vehicle Batteries Essay Introduction A lithium ion (Li ion) battery is a type of rechargeable battery which uses a lithium ion that moves from a positive electrode (cathode) to a negative electrode (anode) during charging and vice versa during discharge. Lithium ion batteries are less environmentally damaging than batteries containing heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury, but recycling them is still far preferable to incinerating them or sending them to landfill. Lithium ion batteries are made up of one or more generating compartments called cells. Each cell is composed of three components: an anode, a cathode, and a chemical called an electrolyte in between them. Lithium ion batteries are becoming more common in portable electronic devices due to their high energy density, lack of memory effect, and high charge and discharge rate capabilities. Research and development work is ongoing to improve safety and increase capacity, charge/discharge rate, and lifetime. Demand for electric vehicle batteries is currently small, but it is expected to grow very quickly. China, Japan, South Korea, France, and the United States are the major lithium ion battery manufacturers for hybrid and electric vehicle applications. A lot of information from different sources was gathered with the purpose of comparing different Li ion batteries mechanisms, cathode and anode materials, structure and fabrication procedures, and their respective advantages and disadvantages. • 21. Solution Focused Therapy ( Sft ) Clients come for mental health treatment for a variety of different reasons and there are a variety of different approaches that can be used to assist those clients. Solution focused therapy (SFT) is one of those approaches. Examined are the treatment approach of SFT, the theory associated, evidence to support the treatment, the effectiveness with youth and culturally diverse clients, and the limitation of the approach. SFT treatment approach can be used with an individual and or families. The treatment emphasizes the strengths and sources of resiliency that a client or family has to promote positive change (Hook, 2014). The therapy enables the client to focus on solutions from the past that could be helpful in creating new realities (Hook, 2014). One of the inventors of SFT referred to it as a way to carry on a practical conversation with clients (Jong, 2015). The conversation is used to co construct solutions. The clinician asks questions not knowing the response (Jong, 2015). Furthermore, the conversations focus on what the client wants to be different and how to make that occur (Jong, 2015). While using SFT the clinician has several assumptions that guide the sessions. First, a client is competent to co construct goals (Jong, 2015). Second, the client is the expert of their own life (Jong, 2015). Third, the problem and solution do not necessarily have a connection (Jong, 2015). Fourth, the client has to do something different for change to occur (Jong, 2015). Fifth, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What promotes the idea of terrorist? Is terrorism only implying to someone who commits an act of terror? Or Is it based on being a Muslim or brown, rather than an act? After 9/11, Muslims were attacked for their religion, up till now according to Lydia O Connor . Muslims have faced discrimination and hate on the religion because others see Islam as a threat and a way to promote violence. This is also known as Islamophobia . As a result, vaccinations were created to stop the sickness and mass tragedy that came along with them. The measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations (MMR), that are supposed to help are being questioned by people believing they are linked to Autism. Numerous studies have shown that there is no connection between the two. The holes and lies in this theory are prevalent when looking in depth at how this theory was established, whom it benefits if it s true, and the facts that disprove it. Science is supposed, to tell the truth, but because humans are the ones performing the experiments sometimes there are flaws. For instance, Andre Wakefield in 1998 of Royal Free Hospital in London, England, said the Measles, Mumps, and rubella vaccines were to blame for autism. Andrew Wakefield came to this conclusion based on results found in eight out of twelve children. His results were then published in a medical journal called Lancet. Andrew Wakefield condemnation of vaccination caused the public to become scared ( vaccinations and Autism . . .). Andrew Wakefield s research was the starting point of the conspiracy theory that the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccinations cause Autism. • 35. Relationship Between Religion And Politics In this course, I found the connection between religion and politics the most important concept we ve studied. With engagement and understanding of politics becoming increasingly important, it s valuable to study the ways people both interact with politics and form their political opinions and as we ve seen, religion can play a huge role in both of these aspects. However, the way religious groups engage with politics can perhaps be generalizing when discussing major religions, seeing as these groups are often widely diverse and brimming with unique experiences. Therefore, I believe it is just as important to discuss the political dimension of religion with the social influences of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and the interrelations between them. Although the connections between religion and politics may be controversial to some, it really isn t surprising that they overlap. For many people, religion and politics are significant parts of their ideology and morals; they both shape ethical decisions and certainly influence how we view society and the interactions within it. Politics and religion, along with ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, are important identities that shape how others see us, and how we see ourselves. Thus, it makes sense that religious beliefs may influence a person s politics or vice versa. While I believe a mix of these identities, and thus personal experiences, has the greatest impact on politics, religion clearly is a significant influence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plates dominates the straits of Gibraltar (Argus et al., 1989). The stratigraphic evolution of the sediment drifts is therefore greatly influenced by both regional tectonics and ocean circulation (Medialdea et al., 2009; Lopes et al., 2006; Terrinha et al., 2009; Zitellini et al., 2009). Coring results from Expedition 339 showed that initial contourite formation started at about 4.5 to 4.2 Ma ago with more prominent formation of the contourite drifts taking place in the Quaternary (Expedition 339 Scientists, 2012). Today, circulation passing through the straits of Gibraltar is noticeable and identifiable by the exchange of warm and salty MOW with cool and less salty North Atlantic water flowing into the Mediterranean Sea. The MOW has a temperature of about 12°C. The sill depth of the straits of Gibraltar known as the Camarinal Sill is about 280 m. The mixing of the MOW with the North Atlantic central water forms two water masses, one at 500 700 m depth and the other at 800 1400 m depth (Amber and Howe, 1979; Voelker et al., 2006; Stow et al., 2011; Voelker and de Abreu, 2011). (To Thomas) Holy fuck, Kevin insinuated that Craig had a boner for me and called him a fag, Red alert! RED ALERT! That should get the message across. I eventually throw my backpack across my shoulders and head out to the van. Thank fuck that s over, Bradley turns on the ignition. Thomas just bounces his leg as we cram into the ... Participants that I wish to seek include people who voluntarily got a body modification to change their physical appearance. I would like to sample females and males from ages starting at 18. Although my target population is people who have body modifications, I want a variety of participants ranging from people with and without body modifications in order to provide variation in my data. Procedure and Instruments: In the research I am trying to conduct, I am seeking to study the relationship between body modifications and bullying. I will be conducting my research by using both a quantitative and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, a qualitative research is more exploratory and the research has more control in the research. Qualitative research can be conducted through interviews. It is good to use qualitative methods in your research, but one can only use a small sample and often it is not representative. Both methods complement each other in their weaknesses and strengths, so it is good to use both in a research design. In the inductive approach of looking at my research, I would use the qualitative method to perform interviews. I would have to pick a subject that has body modifications and a topic guide to guide my interviews. In my interview, I would ask the subject about his or her background. I would also ask questions that are related to the topic of bullying, culture, media, and family. I want to explore other factors that might influence the person in getting body modifications. Through I would then code the interview and assign a social type to the interviewee. For the following interviews, I would want to pick a participant that is different from the previous participant in order to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Themes Of Unwholly Society An Unwholly Society The dystopian novel Unwholly, the second book in the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman, is a twisted story of a futuristic world where life is not valued in the same way as it is today. When government advertises and pays citizens to make bad choices, it makes the society corrupt and inhumane. One corrupt thing about this society is that parents can choose to Unwind their children. Unwinding is when parents can turn their kids over to the government and the government takes the children apart and uses their body parts for different purposes. A possible theme for Unwholly is that by following a corrupt society, people begin to develop selfish behavior. Neal Shusterman uses intense actions and exaggerated description to make his books unique and to help show the theme and help the reader picture the scene. One area of the book that shows Shusterman s craft is Starkey s goodbye scene. The book states Stop! yells their father, as their mother begins to cry (Shusterman 7). These mixed emotions between the parents add emphasis to the scene and show the reader that the parents are not happy with the situation. The father yelling is included to show that he was upset and that he was scared, and because the father felt this way the reader can conclude that he was pressured into unwinding his son. While the father is yelling, Starkey s mother is crying. Crying is very different from yelling, but when Starkey s mother cries it is another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Dr. Martin Luther King Even though Martin Luther King Junior and Mahatma Gandhi both struggled, I think that the charisma in them influenced social change, because of their tactics used, like non violence. Martin Luther King Junior and Gandhi both functions as charismatic leaders and influenced others with their fascinatingly positive attitudes. It was hard for them to get there message s and world view s across but they remained strong and preserved through their struggles, no matter how tough things got. Gandhi transmitted his message without resorting to violence and Martian Luther King Junior learned from Gandhi and shows why non violence is key. Charisma is the social energy that arches between a leader and a community (Kripal 212). This definition of charisma is better for Martin Luther King Junior. He showed so much charisma in his motivational speeches he gave to huge crowds, some even memorable to this day. Max Weber incorporated both psychological and sociological elements in his definition of charisma (Barnes 1). He defined charisma as a certain quality of an individual s personality by virtue of which he is set apart from ordinary men and treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities (Barnes 1). Now I wouldn t say that either of these leaders are supernatural or superhuman, but they do have exceptional qualities that they set the apart from the average individual. Some examples of these qualities would be both had a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

List master teacher s rules for student behavior (in addition to procedures): Students are required to listen to what the teacher says at all times. Before going to the teacher with a problem with a fellow student, they have to work it out first. However, the younger grades usually go to the teacher first; however, the teacher will tell them to work it out. This ends up working the majority of the time, though there are times when the teacher needs to step in. 5. As well as providing opportunities to increase direct expenditure at a destination, they can also contribute substantially to a destination s range of tourist attractions, facilitate media coverage for the destination, promote awareness of the destination for future visitation and lead to the construction of new facilities and infrastructure. The prominence given to special events by governments and tourism marketing organisations has resulted in some destinations seeking to specialise in the creation and hosting of special events. There is also a trend towards the construction of mega venues catering for conventions, trade shows, art and sporting events. The proliferation of events, and event producing agencies, has resulted in the need for the performance of events to be evaluated more stringently. Event managers and planners are now being called upon more often to prepare comprehensive post event evaluations with detailed accounts of the impacts of the event. As many special events require financial assistance from governments and businesses in order to be staged, post event evaluations are required by such agencies that need to assess the value of their investments. Evaluation is also required by event organisers who need to justify their activities to a diverse set of stakeholders, which includes sponsors, funding agencies, economic and tourism development agencies, special interest groups, and the ...
