2. Step 1 – Creating
a title
To create a title, you first have to
click title on the tool bar and
then click on new title. It will
give you the option of roll, still
or crawl; we chose still to fit
our music video but it depends
on what effect you wish to give
to your audience. Once this is
clicked a new tab will appear
and you can design your font
using the various font types
and sizes. You can position
you font on the screen
appropriately to what size you
want it to appear on the
screen or over the footage.
3. Step 2 – Adding your
footageAfter you have made your
font you simply insert it
into video 2. This is very
important if you want the
text to appear over the
desired footage as if you
insert the footage into
video 2, it will overlap and
you will not see it. After
this has been done insert
the desired footage into
video 1 and the text will
appear over it.
4. How to invert it...
We used inverted font in our music
video and to do this we used the
tool Track Matte Key and this
can be found in effects under
keying. Once found click and
drag the effect over to the
footage with the font
overlapping. Once done click the
drop down menu on the video
effects bar and click matte.
Another drop down menu will
appear (Shown on the right) and
this time we click video 2 which
is the title we made earlier.
Make sure reverse is not in use
and keep the tick off for the full
effect of inverting the font.
5. The result!
Using this tool makes the
footage turn from the
original font to the
second font style which
works really with the
style of video we are
making. Thanks for
watching this short
tutorial of how we
managed to do this.
