To import video footage into Final Cut Express, connect the camera to the computer and go to File > Log and Transfer. Drag clips from the browser into the timeline. You can preview clips by double clicking in the viewer. To set in and out points for a clip, use the I and O keyboard shortcuts to add arrows on the viewer. The blade tool, accessed with Command + B, is used to cut clips on the timeline. To zoom in on a clip, change the scale percentage above the canvas.

HOW WOULD YOU IMPORT VIDEO FOOTAGE INTO FINAL CUT EXPRESS?
First connect the video camera to the computer the go into Final Cut then File>Log and Transfer. Then drag all the wanted clips
into the browser and wait for them to transfer onto final cut.
HOW WOULD YOU PREVIEW A CHOSEN CLIP OF IMPORTED VIDEO?
Duoble click a chosen clip for it to appear in the viewer where you can preview it before dragging it onto the timeline
HOW WOULD YOU INSERT A CHOSEN CLIP INTO THE TIMELINE?
You can either drag the clip from the browser or drag it straight from the viewer, where you can shorten the clip, to drop it into
the timeline
HOW WOULD YOU SET IN AND OUT POINTS FOR A PARTICULAR CLIP?
You can do this by pressing the command+I key for IN to set an arrow for where the video will start, and then by pressing the
command +O key for out, you will set another arrow showing you where the video will stop. You can move these arrows around
on the viewer and you can also get them to appear by pressing a button below the viewer shaped like two arrows facing
inwards.

WHAT IS THE BLADE TOOL USED FOR? WHAT IS ITS HOTKEY SHORTCUT?
The blade tool is used for cutting up a clip whilst in the timeline the shortcut for this is command+B

Whilst playhead is in between the gap press control+G

The hot key shortcut is the P key. The pen tool allows you to place points on a clip or piece of audio that can lowered and raised
to create a fading in/out on your clips e.g. some audio can fade out becoming quieter due to points placed by the pen tool.
HOW WOULD YOU VISUALLY SHOW YOUR AUDIO IN THE TIMELINE?
To show audio visually by bringing up the audio waveforms you can press command+option+W

Above the canvas window there should be a menu that when clicked, displays different percentages in which the scale can be
changed, just select the option of 50%
