Mobile advertising in Western Australia is very 
important for local businesses in order promote their 
products and services. 
All businesses need a mobile marketing strategy. Why? 
Latest statistics revealed that more than 4.5 million 3G 
smartphones were in used in Australia. This is really 
worth targeting as this will allow businesses to reach 
more potential consumers. 
There are a lot of people that who glued to their 
smartphones. This is backed up by reports stating that 
40 percent of internet time is spent on mobile devices. Thus, this means that mobile devices play a 
big role in advertising. 
Mobile advertising is consisted of ads that appear on mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, 
eReaders and other gadgets. Phone advertising has different forms, styles, web sites, and platforms. 
In order for mobile advertising to work, there are different types of mobile ads that business 
owners can explore to proliferate the word about their stores or businesses. The type of mobile ads 
that one should use depends on the industry, target audience, and budget. 
 App-based mobile advertising: This is the form of advertising that involves mobile apps as 
statistics reveal that 80 percent of the time spent using the mobile device was spent in apps. 
There is no need to make an app where you can post your ad as it will be handled by services 
like Google AdMob help advertisers create mobile ads that appear within third-party mobile 
apps. 
 Social media: Another way to do phone advertising to promote one’s business is through the 
aid of social media. For example, Facebook allows advertisers to create ads that are 
integrated into Facebook’s mobile app. Facebook also have the Promoted Post ads that 
posts the ads on the news feed of the users. 
 In-game mobile advertising: In this form advertising, mobile ads appear within mobile games as it 
is found out that a lot of people playing games in their mobile devices. In-game apps appear 
as banner ads or full-image ads that appear on the screen. As 80% of mobile device time in 
spent on apps and game apps eat up most of this time. 
 QR codes: One of the new versions of mobile advertising is through QR codes, which users 
will have to scan and they will be directed to a web page that the QR code is attached to. 
One of the qualities of QR codes is it is clouded with mystery thinking what behind the 
code, which attracts some mobile phone users. Moreover, this way is easier than searching 
for the web site of a particular business.
 Location-based marketing: Location-based mobile ads are deemed as one of the most effective 
form of advertising for businesses who wish to gain more clients from a particular area. This 
is best form of mobile advertising in Western Australia for those businesses targeting people 
on a specific location. 
 Mobile search ads: This type of phone advertising is a basic Google search ads built for 
mobile devices and is often added as an extra add-on extension and included click-to-call or 
maps features. 
 Mobile image ads: This type of ad uses images, photos or pictures to that appear on mobile 
devices since a lot of people are visual and have short attention span that tend to skim 
through mobile pages.
