Social media enables sharing ideas and
information through virtual networks.
Platforms allow sharing text, images, videos,
and links with interaction through likes,
comments, shares, and messages. It
transforms communication, impacts
connections, and raises concerns about
privacy, misinformation, and mental health
effects.

important in
our life?
Social Media can be defined as an array of
internet-based platforms, which promotes and
enhance the sharing of information.
Some of the most common types of social media
are websites and applications focused to
microblogging, forums, social bookmarking,
social creation, social networking and Wikipedia.
How Social
Media Works?
Social media sites start with a user creating a
profile, usually by providing a name and an email
address.
Once a profile has been created, users can
create and share content. For instance, an
Instagram user with a new account can take a
picture and share it on their profile with a
caption.
Social media often uses "feeds" that allow users
to scroll through content.
Is social
media good
or bad for
students?
School students are very young and
their minds are not much developed
hence they cannot differentiate
between good and bad.
They can easily get influenced and
distracted. It might also lead to
biased, prejudiced views about
people or issues they hardly have
any knowledge of.

Facebook is a social
networking website where
users can post comments,
share photographs and
post links to news or other
interesting content on the
web, chat live, and watch
short-form video.
Facebook YouTube
YouTube is a social
media platform. Its core
functionality beyond
presenting videos to
watch is to allow for
social interactions. It's
the quintessential
social video platform
because it reaches so
many people
Instagram
Instagram is a free,
online photo-sharing
application and social
network platform that
was acquired by
Facebook in 2012.
Instagram allows users
to edit and upload
photos and short videos
through a mobile app.
TikTok is a social
network for sharing
short videos, lasting 15
or 60 seconds and 3
minutes, but which
offers extensive
resources for editing
them. You can include
filters, subtitles,
soundtrack, gifs, make
cuts and use creativity.

application that can be

tweets. These tweets
can contain text,

networking site
designed specifically
for the business
conumunite. The goal
of the site is to allow

to establish and
document networks of

Monetizing Content:Platforms like YouTube
offer monetization options such as ad
revenue sharing, where you earn money
based on the number of views or clicks
your content generates.
Crowdfunding:Platforms like Patreon or
Kickstarter allow creators to receive
financial support from their followers in
exchange for exclusive content, products,
or experiences.
Ultimately, success in making money through
social media often requires building a strong
personal brand, engaging with your audience
authentically, and consistently delivering
valuable content.
Influencer Marketing:If you have a large following
and influence on platforms like Instagram,
YouTube, or TikTok, brands may pay you to
promote their products or services to your
audience.
Sponsored Content:Similar to influencer
marketing, you can create sponsored posts or
videos where you feature products or services in
exchange for payment.
Creating and Selling Products:Social media
provides a platform to showcase and sell your
own products, whether they're physical goods,
digital products like e-books or courses, or
services such as consulting or coaching.

  • 4. What is social media? Social media enables sharing ideas and information through virtual networks. Platforms allow sharing text, images, videos, and links with interaction through likes, comments, shares, and messages. It transforms communication, impacts connections, and raises concerns about privacy, misinformation, and mental health effects.
  • 5. Why is social media important in our life? Social Media can be defined as an array of internet-based platforms, which promotes and enhance the sharing of information. Some of the most common types of social media are websites and applications focused to microblogging, forums, social bookmarking, social creation, social networking and Wikipedia.
  • 6. How Social Media Works? Social media sites start with a user creating a profile, usually by providing a name and an email address. Once a profile has been created, users can create and share content. For instance, an Instagram user with a new account can take a picture and share it on their profile with a caption. Social media often uses "feeds" that allow users to scroll through content.

It's the quintessential social video platform because it reaches so many people Instagram Instagram is a free, online photo-sharing application and social network platform that was acquired by Facebook in 2012. Instagram allows users to edit and upload photos and short videos through a mobile app. TikTok is a social network for sharing short videos, lasting 15 or 60 seconds and 3 minutes, but which offers extensive resources for editing them. You can include filters, subtitles, soundtrack, gifs, make cuts and use creativity. TikTok
