The Bible provides guidance for resolving conflicts between Christians. It instructs bringing issues directly to the offended party first. If that does not work, witnesses should be involved, and ultimately the church may need to intervene if reconciliation is not achieved. Failing to properly resolve conflicts with others will hinder spiritual growth and can become a root of bitterness affecting others. It is important to pursue resolution in order to maintain unity as believers and a pure heart before God.

1. How does the Bible say to resolve
conflict between two people?
1 Corinthians 1:10
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all
speak the same thing, and that there be
no divisions among you; but that ye be
perfectly joined together in the same
mind and in the same judgment.

2. Galatians 6:10
10 As we have therefore opportunity,
let us do good unto all men,
especially unto them who are of the
household of faith.
Natural personality conflicts are normal
because we form our reasoning abilities from
the sum total of each of our own life
experiences. As a member of the family of
God we need to know how to resolve
disagreements and conflicts between family
members.

3. Many times God will bring to your
mind something you have to do before
he can bless you.
Matthew 5:23-24
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar,
and there rememberest that thy brother hath
ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go
thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and
then come and offer thy gift.

4. If you know someone has a problem with you
(regardless of who is at fault) it must be
resolved first before your service to God can
be accepted as coming from a pure heart.

also be tempted.

with another Christian in detail.
Matthew 18:15-18
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and
tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall
hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two
more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every
word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church:
but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as
an heathen man and a publican.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven.

an issue here on earth you will
not have to face it at the
Judgment Seat of Christ.

Psalm 66:18
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will
not hear me:

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light
unto my path.
God will give us light to take the next step in our
spiritual life.

to obey what we know to do.
God will not give us new light
until we have used what he has
already given us.

The other reason is so the issue doesn’t become
a ‘root of bitterness’.
What makes this so dangerous is that it will
effect others around you. ‘and thereby many
be defiled’.
