  2. 2. 3 I thank my God every time I remember you.4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always praywith joy 5 because of your partnership in thegospel from the first day until now, 6 beingconfident of this, that he who began a goodwork in you will carry it on to completion untilthe day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right for me to feelthis way about all of you, since I have you in myheart and, whether I am in chains or defending Philippians 1:3-7
  3. 3. and confirming the gospel, all of you share inGod’s grace with me. Philippians 1:3-7

  5. 5. 7 “Will the Lord reject forever? Will he nevershow his favor again? 8 Has his unfailing lovevanished forever? Has his promise failed for alltime? 9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? Hashe in anger withheld his compassion?” 10 ThenI thought, “To this I will appeal: the years whenthe Most High stretched out his right hand. 11 Iwill remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, Iwill remember your miracles of long ago. Psalm 77:7-13
  6. 6. 12 I will consider all your works and meditate onall your mighty deeds.”  13 Your ways, God, areholy. What god is as great as our God? Psalm 77:7-13
  7. 7. God will finish what He started.
  8. 8. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you withthe affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And this is myprayer: that your love may abound more andmore in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 sothat you may be able to discern what is bestand may be pure and blameless for the day ofChrist, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousnessthat comes through Jesus Christ—to the gloryand praise of God. Philippians 1:8-11
  9. 9. 12Now I want you to know, brothers andsisters, that what has happened to me hasactually served to advance the gospel. 13 As aresult, it has become clear throughout thewhole palace guard and to everyone else that Iam in chains for Christ. 14 And because of mychains, most of the brothers and sisters havebecome confident in the Lord and dare all themore to proclaim the gospel without fear. Philippians 1:12-14
  10. 10. 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our LordJesus Christ, the Father of compassion and theGod of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all ourtroubles, so that we can comfort those in anytrouble with the comfort we ourselves receivefrom God. 5 For just as we share abundantly inthe sufferings of Christ, so also our comfortabounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed,it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

  12. 12. 15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envyand rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 Thelatter do so out of love, knowing that I am puthere for the defense of the gospel. 17 Theformer preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir uptrouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But whatdoes it matter? The important thing is that inevery way, whether from false motives or true, Philippians 1:15-18
  13. 13. Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.Yes, and I will continue to rejoice. Philippians 1:15-18
  14. 14. 19for I know that through your prayers andGod’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christwhat has happened to me will turn out for mydeliverance. 20 I eagerly expect and hope that Iwill in no way be ashamed, but will havesufficient courage so that now as always Christwill be exalted in my body, whether by life or bydeath. 17. 17. 10Better is one day in your courts than athousand elsewhere; I would rather be adoorkeeper in the house of my God than dwellin the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:10
  18. 18. 24but it is more necessary for you that I remainin the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that Iwill remain, and I will continue with all of youfor your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so thatthrough my being with you again your boastingin Christ Jesus will abound on account of me. Philippians 1:27-28
  21. 21. 31What, then, shall we say in response tothese things? If God is for us, who can beagainst us? Romans 8:31
