Introduction
• Home automation is the automatic control of electronic devices in your home. These
devices are connectedto the Internet, which allows them to be controlled remotely.
• It uses both hardware and software to enable controlling and managing devices and
appliances at home. This system not only refers to reduce human effort but also helps
in time-saving and energy efficiency.
• In this project, we are providing home automation using Node MCU.
Software Recquirements

The Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
is a cross-platform application (for Windows, macOS, Linux)
that is written in functions from C and C++. It is used to write
and upload programs to Arduino compatible boards, but also,
with the help of third-party cores, other vendor development
boards
Blynk is a new platform that allows you to quickly build interfaces
for controlling and monitoring your hardware projects from your
iOS and Android device

▪Node MCU is IOT module based on
ESP8266 wifi module
▪ It uses a Lua scripting languageand is open
source internetof things(IOT)platform.
➢DC Motor
▪ A direct current (DC) motoris a type of electric
machinethat converts electrical energyinto
mechanical energy.
▪ In thiswe use it as a alternatefor theceiling
fan
➢4 Relay channel 5v module ➢Bread Board
▪ It is 4 channel isolated5v 10A relay
module ,a wide rangeof microcontroller
such as Adruino can control it.
▪It is alsoable to control variousappliances
and othertypes of equipmentwith large
current.
▪ A bread board is used to make up
temporarycircuitsfor testing orto try out
an idea.
▪ no soldering is required so it is easy to
changeconnectionsand replace
components.
➢LED Light
▪ An electrical current passes through a
microchip, which illuminatesthe tinylight
sources we call LEDs and the result is visible light.
▪LED stands for lightemittingdiode
➢Fan
▪ Plasticpropellerfor aircraftsand waterrobots.
▪ Used for models, hobbies, toysand educational
activities
➢Servo Motor
▪ A servomotoris a rotaryactuatoror linearactuator
thatallowsfor precise control of angularor linear
position, velocityand acceleration.
▪ It consistsof a suitablemotorcoupled to a
sensorfor positionfeedback.
➢Jumper Wire
▪A jump wire isan electrical wire, or groupof
them in a cable, with a connectorat each end.
▪which is normally used to interconnectthe
components of a breadboardor other prototype or
test circuit

Working
Home Automationusing Blynk & ESP8266. Real Timeclock based homeautomationin an
advance project to control the devices in timelyand systematicmanner. The devices can be
controlledwirelesslyfrom otherplaces using wireless technology. RTC with EEPROM can record
all the working parameters in the devices or appliances. The appliances in the industry or home
will be interfaced with centralizedmicro controllerNODE MCU for the systematicworking. The
inbuiltRTC and EEPROM present in the controllerwill be activatedforthe operation. The
controlleralso interfaced with WIFIto receive the control commands from Wi-Fi shield(Wi-Fi
hotspot). The operatorwill be providedwith Mobile app having Wi-Fi in that. If operatorwants
to switch the Lightto turn on or off he needs to switch controlbuttonprovided in app. Once he
switchedthe Wi-Fi will send thedata to Wi-Fi presentat microcontroller.As and when the
request is received the microcontrolleractivatesthe RTC and EEPROM and as per request
received the operationwill be done. In the same way all otherappliances can be controlled.

Conclusion
 The home automation using internet of things (IOT) has been experimentally
proven to work satisfactorily by connecting simple appliances to it and the
appliances were successfully controlled remotely through internet.
