understanding of technological advancements, historical context, and the impact of the internet
on society. The difficulty lies in the vast and multifaceted nature of the topic. The history of the
internet spans several decades and involves intricate developments in technology,
communication, and global connectivity.
To craft a well-informed essay, one must delve into the origins of the internet, exploring its
evolution from early computer networks to the World Wide Web. Understanding key milestones
such as the development of ARPANET, the invention of the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP),
and the proliferation of personal computers is essential. Additionally, examining the contributions
of key figures in the field, like Tim Berners-Lee, and grasping the social, economic, and cultural
implications of internet expansion adds complexity to the writing process.
Furthermore, addressing the challenges and controversies surrounding the internet, such as issues
of privacy, cybersecurity, and digital divide, requires a nuanced approach. One must consider the
global nature of the internet and its role in shaping modern communication, commerce, and
information dissemination.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the history of the internet demands extensive research, critical

In Brighton Rock by Graham Greene, two characters, Rose and Ida, while
physically different with different personalities are both focused on the
protagonist, Pinkie Brown. Each has him in their sight, but for vastly different
reasons. One wants him to pay for his sins and one wants to save him from his sins.
Ida Arnold is a kind, and superstitious middle aged woman, who seeks the truth. Ida
is desperate for justice that is due for the death of Fred Hale which she believes
Pinky ordered. Right and wrong, she said. I believe in right and wrong, and delving a
little deeper, with a sigh of happy satiety, she said, It s going to be exciting, it s going

the Ouija board can help her find clues that could eventually lead to the reason of

that Hale and Kolley Kibber were the same person. The reason

4. Modernism In Modern Literature
The history of humanity is an extraordinary span of countless years that consists of
wonderful advancements, extremely significant developments, new constructions of
ideas, and astounding movements. Humans have continuously driven to develop new
ways of understanding the world and have tried reshaping the intricate perceptions of
the world throughout the course of time. While the entire past of humanity is full of
astonishing explorations and powerful events, only very few centuries could possibly
challenge the importance of the twentieth century. The early portion of the twentieth
century was a very crucial period of time that carried great momentum for multiple
revolutions across the globe, multiple wars, and major developments in constructing
the world. This influenced not only extravagant ways of thinking and understanding
new concepts, but also drove new movements of art and literature into cultures
everywhere. This gave ideas such as Surrealism, Naturalism, Futurism. Realism and
Romanticism the ability to thrive and reform the perceptions of literature as a whole.
However, one of the artistic key movements in the early twentieth century that shaped
literature today and made these other movements in literature possible is the
Modernist movement. Modernism was substantial in Europe throughout the early
twentieth century, sweeping the minds of many marvelous writers and artists such as
Virginia Woolf and James Joyce. These two authors are significant influences not just

6. Tax Reform For Small Businesses
Executive Summary
Tax reform is the crucial component in Government s policy agenda so as to frame
more employment, production, and opportunities. It is mostly initiated for the
improvement of levy policy in order to implement social as well as the economic
benefits. This policy paper explores and suggest tax reforms for small businesses in
Australia and also analyzes the various consequences of its impacts in terms of
unemployment, poverty, inequality, and on the overall economy. Since much of the
emphasis is on taxation and incentives at the same time, this paper also discusses
options for providing loans to startups and small scale industries.
This policy paper suggests that how Australian Government can transform its
legislative system and design its tax for small companies and businesses in such a
way to overcome the threats brought forward by the 21st century in order to sustain
and promote its social as well as the economic progress.
This paper further puts light on the fact that how taxes in regards to small businesses
should be lower and whatever taxes are imposed must be paid up on time. The tax
policy should be designed in such a way that it fosters entrepreneurship rather than
compensating intrusive tax outlining. Wherever feasible some recommendation has
been put forward to streamline the tax plans on small businesses in order to fit
taxation system from the frame of Business workouts in this modern era.

These views were brought by the Anglo settlers. The individualistic aspect supported
private business with the minimal interference of authorities in the economic life of
the state. Instead, the government focused on the stimulation of individual business.
Thus, the policies created the comfortable conditions for the new business (Maxwell,
Ernest and Edwin 24). At the present time, Texas combines the individualistic and
traditionalistic political cultures, but anyway, the elements of the individualistic
political culture predominate. Comparing with the other states, Texas has a limited
government with restricted powers. Even the governor has a limited budget and it is
the only state without personal or corporate income tax (Maxwell, Ernest and Edwin

levels of suffering and spiritual growth which is an allegory for the seven deadly sins.
The seven levels are the following: Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Avarice, Gluttony, and

Bertrand Russel was born on 18th May 1872. He was a British philosopher,
mathematician, historian, writer, social critic and also political activist. Numerous
points of his life, he considered himself a socialist, and a liberal. He was born in
Monmouth shire into one of the most upper class families in Britain. Russel led the
British revolt against idealism, In the early 20th Century. He is one of the founders of
analytic philosophy. He then died on 2nd February, 1970. There are many points that
Bertrand Russel illustrated in the book. The points that he talked about are the
enlargement of self, and he also talks about the value of philosophy.
One point that Bertrand Russel talked about is the enlargement of self. In the book
he stated, All acquisition of knowledge is an enlargement of self, but this
enlargement of self is best obtained when it is not directly sought. Russell s
expression Enlargement of self expresses for the person of understanding, wide

Abstract. This paper presents the cooperation between two searchers at the origin to
seek for a random walk moving target on the line. Any information of the target
position is not available to the searchers all the time. Rather than finding the
conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time between one of the
searchers and the target is finite, we show the existence of the optimal search strategy
which minimizes this first meeting time. The effectiveness of this model is illustrated
using numerical example.

Recently, Mohamed et al. [15] studied this problem when the target moves on one of

to the searchers all the time. Mohamed et al. formulate a search model and find the
conditions under which the expected value of the first meeting time between one of
the searchers and the target is finite. Furthermore, they showed the existence of the
optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of the first meeting time
and found it. More recently, El Hadidy [16] considered a search problem for a d
dimensional Brownian target that moves randomly on d space. He found the
conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time between one of
the searchers and the target is finite. In addition, he showed the existence of the
optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of this first meeting time. A
comprehensive discussion of many aspects of search problem is found in El

numerous applications in physics. One of the famous search methods, is the
coordinated linear search method which consider two unit speed searchers starting at

Rood approach was first introduced by Margaret Rood in the 1950 s which become
center of origins for many facilitation techniques used in this century. This approach
came from the reflex of motor control, also it builds up an arrangement of helpful
activities to enhance cutaneous incitement for patients who have neuromuscular
dysfunctions adjacent to proprioceptive manoeuvers like situating, joint pressure,
joint distraction and the general utilization of reflexes, extend, and protection. The

Task oriented approach
Task oriented approach is often suggested as a preferred neurorehabilitation
intervention to enhance the work by polishing motor behavior. This approach is
based on system model of motor behavior and environment factors on motor
performance. Task oriented approach patients is mainly having neurological
conditions like a cerebral vascular accident and traumatic brain injury which result to
shifts in multiple body function such as mental, sensory, and neuromusculoskeletal
and movement related functions.
Task oriented approach uses a top down, client centered, and occupation focused
approach to evaluation and treatment. The evaluation process starts with the decision
of role performance and occupational performance. Then the therapist detects the
patient performing challenging and meaningful tasks, and determines the patterns
that can be stable.
The therapist identifies the crucial person factors that intrude with task performance
which known as control parameters, control parameters are personal or environmental
variables that are reflection to constrain movement into desirable patterns and have
the potential to shift behavior to a new pattern. For example, therapists observe client
and identify the following control parameters such as amount of trunk support, level
of attention to tasks, amount of energy, and incorporation of right hand, all of control
parameters referred to assessment

Lia s journey started when she was three months old and she suffered her first of
many epileptic seizures. Over the next few months she continued to suffer from
her seizures and made at least three emergency room visits. Like most cases of
epilepsy, the cause of her grand mal seizures was unknown, however, her parents,
Nao Kao and Foua Lee, believed it to be the result of her elder sister slamming the
door and scaring Lia awake, allowing a dab, or evil spirit, to steal her soul. After
her first visit to the Merced Community Medical Center, it became clear that the
language barrier would not allow for an accurate patient history to be recorded. As
Lia s condition worsened, this barrier would further prevent the Lee s from

18. The Tragedy Of Antigone By William Shakespeare
In life, we tend to see things in a black and white manner; good vs. bad. However,
there is often a gray area that goes unexplored. Antigone manages to venture into
this gray area through a complicated conflict of values. Kreon, the ruler of Thebes,
has declared the leader of a rebellion against the state must not be buried. This
conflicts with the leaders sister, Antigone, as she feels compelled to bury him.
This conflict of values was expressed by German philosopher Hegel when he said
At the center of Antigone we find not a tragic hero but a tragic collision. However,
the conflict is not between good and evil but between one sided positions each of
which embodies some good. The result of this gray area is the creation of two
separate themes, government vs. family, and man vs. the gods. Antigone represents
both family and the gods due to her fierce loyalty to each, while Kreon represents
government and man. Neither side is necessarily wrong, but it is the stubbornness
and pride within them that leads to tragedy. On the surface, Kreon is a villain. He is
unbending and kills a woman whose crime was loving her brother. However, further
analysis reveals it is not so simple. Kreon is not inherently evil; it is instead his
character flaws that create the perception he is a villain. Throughout the play he
stresses practical judgment, unbeknownst to the irony within his own words. Kreon
believes by sentencing Antigone to death he is asserting himself, and that it is
important

20. Jamaican Music, Culture, And Music In Jamaican Culture
Reggae music was a big part of Jamaican culture. Many artists practiced the style of
reggae and some of the artists like Bob Marley influenced and showed people
internationally all about this music. It originated around the time that Jamaica was
being attacked by European countries like Spain and native people being taken into
slavery. Bob Marleywas born after the time of slave trading but whites still effected
the native people and this is how he got his inspiration for his music.
a)The music of Jamaica began five centuries ago, when Columbus colonized the
land of the Arawak Indians. This dates the start of oppression by first the Spanish
and then the English in this area of the Caribbean. Blacks were brought in as slaves
by the English, and although Jamaica has had it s independence since 1963, the
tension of authority and control still reigns. Jamaica is a story of injustice,
international influence, ineffective governing, and unequal distribution of wealth; all
of these elements provide a solid base for the theme of oppression and the need for a
revolution and redemption in Jamaican music. Reggae in particular reflects these

Essay
Alcohol and marijuana Since the beginning of time people have been using all
kinds of substances to make them feel liberated. Alcohol and marijuana are
consumed every day in America by teenagers to elderly people; there is no set range
on who consumes these drugs. Despite efforts from imposed laws: people feel the
need to consume these substances and encage in behaviors out of the ordinary. Drugs

Alcohol use is associated with tremendous costs to the drinker, those around him or
her, and society as a whole. These costs result from increased health risks (both
physical and mental) associated with alcohol consumption as well as from the social
harms caused by alcohol. Marijuana is a mixture of the dried parts of the cannabis
sativa hemp plant. Excessive marijuana use can lead to an addiction. The main
chemical in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which moves quickly through
the bloodstream and to the brain, causing mild hallucinogenic effects. THC binds
with cannabdnob receptors and activates neurons, which causes adverse effects on the
mind and body. THC can mimic or block actions of neurotransmitters and interfere
with normal functions. Marijuana use can lead to disturbed thoughts and can worsen
psychotic symptoms. The short term effects of marijuana include impaired
coordination; skewed sensory and time perception; difficulty with thinking; shortened
attention span and distractibility; impaired learning and memory. Long term users of
marijuana often experience lowered motivation and some can experience anxiety,
panic attacks, respiratory illness, and increased heart rate and risk of heart attack.

22. Opelousas Massacre Research Paper
The Opelousas Massacre was a horrifying event that occurred on September 28,
1868, in Landry Parish, Louisiana. The riot was sparked by conflict between black
freedmen and whites over the political control of the state of Louisiana. This
resulted in a massive killing of blacks as whites had the overwhelming advantage in
numbers and weapons. What s most interesting about this case is the mystery
surrounding the accounts of deaths. No one can approximately confirm how many
people were killed in this massacre. Some sources identify as few as 30 people
killed. Other sources estimate killings to over 300 people. The Opelousas Massacre

23. A Short Story On Hard Times And Tough Decisions
I want to tell you a short story about hard times and tough decisions. There was a
man and women who I knew very well that were deeply in love, young and stupid.
They were introduced to selling drugs, and at the time they thought it was a good
idea, and did not think of the consequences. But the money the two were bringing
in meant they could not afford to stop. They one day the two went out to a party to
sell the drugs. At the party they sold it to the wrong guy who just so happened to
be an undercover cop. The two got arrested and were sentenced to 90 days in jail to
think what they have done. The two were not allowed to see each other for six
months but they were so lost without each other. After the sentencing and their time
apart, they both vowed not to ever put each other in danger and harm s way again,
but because of their actions it became harder for them to find good paying jobs and
they slowly started to live in poverty. The reason why I told you this short story is
because no matter how rough life is, do not resort to crime or drugs. There is always
a better path to follow.
Crime has a capacity to create brutal sequences causing unemployment, economic
downturns and instability. Poverty and crime combined leave people with two
choices: either take part in criminal activities, or try to find legal ways of income
which is very difficult if having criminal records. After being rehabilitated in jail
more than 40 percent of ex cons commit crimes within three years of
24. Examples Of The Narrator In A Rose For Emily
A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner is a suspenseful story not only because of its
complex chronology and shocking ending, but also because of Faulkner s unusual
use of narrative technique. While the narrator is seen by many as a windows pane or
mirror upon Emily s life, there is more to the narrator than simply being an unnamed
speaker or collective town voice. The rather unusual narrativeperspective creates
suspense and a sense of mystery as to the identity of the unnamed narrator, seemingly
representing a collective town voice; furthermore, the narrative perspective
significantly influences the characterisation of Emily. In this paper, I am going to
focus on the following questions: Who is the narrator? What is his relation to Emily?
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When first reading it, the narrator comes across as a collective town voice, as he
/she speaks for the whole town and tells us the gossip and ideas of the town people.
He does so in a very detached way, as he is not commenting on the information he
is giving us. However, it is obvious that the narrator is a member of this town, as he
is using personal pronouns like we and our . Furthermore, one might get the
impression that the narrator is all knowing because he seems to know many details
that he could only know if he either experienced the events himself or is
omniscient. For example, on page 121 in the first paragraph, the narrator describes
a visit of the Board of Aldermen at Miss Emily s. When referring to these men, the
narrator uses the pronoun they , rather than we , as he usually does. This means
that he is not one of those men who visit Emily. But his precise knowledge about
many details of this meeting leads to the assumption that he must be either all
knowing or if he is not one of the men of the Board of Aldermen he is another
character present. This could be a first hint to the narrator s real identity. Except for
the men of the Board of Aldermen and Miss Emily, there was only one more person
present: Tobe, Miss Emily s black

For example, Facebook which is the most popular social networking website
recently announced their adoption of a NoSQL based graph data store for efficient
storage of user data. In other words, NoSQL has already made its way into the
enterprise. However, just like every other widely accepted technology, NoSQL has
its own set of advantages and disadvantages. It is important for an enterprise to
quantify the pros and cons of a particularly new database technology against the
already existing solutions based on their custom requirements. For example, legacy
enterprise applications may require extensive community support from their database
vendors. Moreover, traditional relational database vendors such as Oracle have
already established themselves for providing excellent support. On the other hand,
NoSQL has been rapidly growing since the past few years and is consistently
evolving in terms of big data handling, data warehousing and lesser complexity.
Hence, there is a need to study the current market of data stores based on the most
popular NoSQL data stores and how well they fair against the widely accepted
traditional database systems. This requires a study of the commonly used NoSQL
data stores.

27. Summary Of Sam Patch The Famous Jumper
During the early 1800s, the United States was hit by the Market Revolution which
quickly changed the economic and social status all around. It created a division of
those who were greatly benefitting from the market and those who were suffering
from it. In Sam Patch, the Famous Jumper written by Paul E. Johnson, the writer
exemplifies how the revolution affected people socially and economically through
the story of a young man, Sam Patch and how like many, he became a failure of the
Market Revolution. The Market Revolution started in the early 19th century (1815)
and ended around 1840. It was a time in which the United Statesbegan to shift from
mainly an agricultural economy to a manufacturing economy. The revolution
emphasized manufacturing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his small rise to fame by jumping off waterfalls, ultimately, Patch was seen
as a failure to the Market Revolution like many others. He grew up in Pawtucket
where he worked in one of the mills and eventually worked his way up to being a
mule spinner whom were seen as a remarkable set of men (32). Patch s life was
looking bright as he was feeling confident and even gaining more social
recognition as a boss spinner. In spare time, he often jumped over the Pawtucket
Falls which soon became a craft for him. Patch along with other factory boys
began taking the jumping seriously and felt it required self possession and a
mastery of skills... (39). Similar to how the expansion of technology and art was
seen as prestigious to Timothy Crane, Sam Patch viewed jumping over the falls as
an art that required skill as well. Although Patch became popular for jumping over
several falls, he was unable to sustain his fame and eventually died at his last jump.
Those above the working class did not value the art of jumping and Patch could
not survive during the Market Revolution on it. A person s success during this
time was determined by the wealth they accumulated and their social status. For
example, Timothy Crane was seen as a huge success as he owned a mill, garden,
bridge, etc. and gained a lot of social prestige due to his liking of poetry, art, etc..
On the other hand, Sam Patch owned no property and, survived on what little
money he made from his jumpings and was unable to sustain the social status he
was gaining from his jumps. Many people like Sam Patch were unable to rise during
the Market Revolution as they were held back because of their social and financial

acknowledging positive behaviors, and dealing with discipline problems. This is all

your classroom runs smoothly, learning takes place. I agree that teachers should
create rules that specifically define our behaviors expectations. I think rules should be
positive. Being positive creates an atmosphere where students want to be positive

minimizing risk, safety of the principal, tradability and liquidity are his subsidiary
objectives. Financial instruments can be categorized by form depending on whether
they are cash instruments or derivative

directly by markets. They can be divided into securities, which are readily
transferable, and other cash instruments such as loans and deposits, where both
borrower and lender have to agree on a transfer. Derivative instruments are financial
instruments which derive their value from the value and characteristics of one or
more underlying entities such as an asset, index, or interest rate. They can be divided
into exchangetraded derivatives and over the counter (OTC) derivatives.
Alternatively, financial instruments can be categorized by asset class depending on
whether they are equity based (reflecting ownership of the issuing entity) or debt
based (reflecting a loan the investor has made to the issuing entity). If it is debt, it
can be further categorized into short term (less than one year) or long term. Foreign
Exchange instruments and transactions are neither debt nor equity based and belong

There are different ways in which people test the quality of their water, an example

these water testing kits one was able to see how much contaminants are floating in

32. The Value Of The Fiat Money
1) People can lose faith in money because if the value becomes questionable, so
will the acceptance of it. Economists believe that the better the fiat money serves as
a store of value, the more acceptable it is. This statement basically means that since
fiat money is not backed by anything of value, its not as easily accepted. Over time,
people gradually come to accept the fiat moneybecause they believe others will
accept it also.
2) When the value of money was based on its gold content, new discoveries of gold
were followed by periods of inflation because as the surplus of gold went up, so did
the supply of money. When the supply of money surpasses its equilibrium, we get
inflation.
3) A depository institution is a financial institutions such as a savings or commercial
bank or credit union that allows customers to deposit monies. They act as
intermediates between borrowers and savers by bringing together both sides of the
money market. They gather amounts from savers and repackage the funds in to
amounts desired by the borrowers. They assume the liability and basically reduce the
transaction costs of channeling savings to creditworthy borrowers.
4) The main powers and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve System are providing
financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign central
banks, including playing a major role in clearing checks, processing electronic
payments, and distributing coin and paper money to the nation s banks,

The Bible Vs The Bhagavad
The Bible Vs The Bhagavad are the sacred books of Christians and Hindus
respectively. There are several similarities as well as differences found between
these the bible text and the Bhagavad text. The Bhagavad Gita is often called as the
Bible of Hindus. The similarities between them can be analyzed from the facts that
Bhagavat Gita and the Bible has emphasized on the love for man. The texts from both
Holy books indicate the fact that God says that he loves those who love the mankind.
Further, both the books have cleared that only God guides people, which can be
analyzed from texts of both books. In Bhagavad Gita, It is mentioned that I am the
way, supporter, lord, witness, abode, refuge, friend (Davies), while in the Bible, He
dwelleth in me and I in Him (Venden).
Further, both the books have emphasized on the worship of God such as it is
mentioned in Bhagavad Gita that They who worship me with true devotion are in
me and I in them (Davies), while it is mentioned in Bible that I in them, thou in me,
that they may be made perfect in one (Venden). These texts clear the fact that both
Bhagavad as well as Bible emphasized on the worship of God. Further, both the
books point out towards the fact those who worship God will never be left alone, as
it is mentioned in Bhagavad that Be assured that he who worships me, perishes not
(Davies), while the it is mentioned in Bible that He that believeth in me shall never
perish, but shall have eternal

The Key Conventions Of Film Noir In L.A Confidential
L.A Confidential (Curtis Hanson, 1997) is a neo noir film about a shooting at an

unique ways. It is based on the book by James Ellroy and after a very well adapted
screenplay, won nine academy awards. It starred actors with big names like Russell

Narrative or storyline is much the same as any other film noir movie. It has a В‘hard

Danny Devito is perfect in this role because he has quite a seedy voice this is good
to illustrate the sleaziness of film noir, it shows the real voice of L.A. The setting
of film noir is usually quite cheap. This is used effectively to actually show the
dark tacky parts of society where film noir usually takes place. There is not a lot of
light in these films and they are often set on location. A seedy underworld is often
present in film noir movies, where all the bad or undesirable parts of society are
exposed. Things like drugs, alcohol, murder and corruption. In my analysis I will
be looking at a scene near the end of the film where Bud White and Ed Exeley take
part in a shootout at the victory motel. The narrative conveys very common noir
aspects here; the shootout takes place in a very dark room. The only light comes
from outside. This shows the mood of the scene to be sinister and bleak. It puts the
audience in a scared state as the shadows can conceal anything. It is also hard to see
what White and Exeley are doing. The shadows are very menacing because they use
a chiaroscuro lighting effect. This means that the rooms, people and settings are
hidden from view by shadows. The blinds over the window cast strong grid
shadowing over the characters showing uncertainty and anxiety. This lighting is very
common in film noir films as it shows the seediness of the settings. The

Satire is like water, not everyone in the world gets it. Satire is a style of comedy
where a serious issue is told in a light and funny way. Quite often, satire has its moral
purpose and is aiming to provoke changes to the society. This form of humour can be
presented to the audience in three different ways, including a video from The

Internet Degree is a satirical video from the Australian television comedy series The

about the internet university and how a dog can get a bachelor degree within seven

but Packingtown, the center of the city s meatpacking industry, is dangerous,

pale complexion. The outfit she had on was stunning; it was a long white dress

her to my favorite place in my house which was my dinner table, it featured pictures

together trying to capture hydra informants that have attained technology from
beyond this world. This calls for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just like in The Avengers the one liners are back and they offer quite a few laughs.
The strongest actors in my opinion were Chris Evens (Captain America) Robert
Downey Jr (Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) because these were the best at
being humorous while still kicking CGI butt. The noob Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor
Johnson) who played Kick ass (in Kick ass ) was a surprise for me, he acted on par
but I kept seeing his character from his other movies, the accent he put on was a
tiny bit cringe in some parts but he did good for his first full marvel movie. His
sister in the film Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) played a solid part which was full
of emotion. I can t leave out the big guy Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) who played a decent
part, especially when on screen with The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) who
goes through some past memories that bring out her emotions. I was also very
impressed with Hawkeye (Clint Barton) as he is just a guy with a bow, and this helps
bring out the humanity in the team. He performed very well and had more screen
time than I thought he would get, but that is not a bad
43. The Festering Odor Of Sulfuric Acid
Upon entering the village of DePue, IL, one may ponder about the festering odor of
sulfuric acid in the air that clashes with the scenic view of a serene lake surrounded
by wooded land. The main street of DePue is lined with locally owned businesses,
along with abandoned, crumbling buildings. The community members of this village
may either smile and wave at a passer by, or glare at you with an off putting facial
expression. Despite the confusing impression a non resident or visitor might form,
DePue has an interesting history. DePue is home to about 1,800 residents whom are
devoted to preserving the traditions that this communityhas to offer. I am quite
familiar with the village of Depue, because my grandparents have lived here for
nearly 50 years. My grandfather, Walter Ivan, used to own a barber shop on the
main street for nearly 35 years, until he passed away in February of this year. He
was well known in this community, and was recognized by his fellow community
members for his generous personality and contagious laughter. My grandfather
executed willingness to learn Spanish, in order to better communicate with the
mainly Hispanic community members, as well as learn about their culture. He also
was a member of the Depue Booster Club and the Depue Men s Club. He strongly
believed in being an active member of Depue, and always encouraged me to do the
same in my hometown. My grandmother, Dorothy Ivan, is an active member of the
church in Depue, and is always
44. Occipital Lobe Case Study
1. The occipital lobe is responsible for allowing visual stimulus to be understood by
the mammals experiencing it. It can be argued that by lesioning the occipital lobe
within the pigeon, she is impairing the lobe and therefore, the pigeon would be
unable to determine a moving stimulus. In turn, one could say that the occipital lobe
does play a role in motion detection, as motion detection is visually observed.
However, this experiment doesn t necessarily draw one solid conclusion for whether
or not the occipital lobe is responsible for motion detection. There are many pathways
within the brain that are interconnected and complex. It seems too black and white to
conclude that the occipital lobe is the main region of the brain responsible... Show

One method that could be used to expand on her research could be to try the
stereotaxic apparatus. A lesion within the occipital lobe could be created with this
method on several different types of mammals. This would be highly important to
test. The experiment had only been tested on a pigeon. The brain of the pigeon has a
different structure than the brain of other mammals. In order to make a fair
conclusion, more mammals with different brain structures should be considered. This
method would also allow for more testing control within the specific brain region,
leading me to believe that the results would be more accurate due to the mapping of
the stereotaxic atlas. Another testing method to consider could be the use of a
scanning electron microscope. This microscope would create a highly detailed three
dimensional image of the brain. Allowing for the investigator to perceive more
accurate result depictions through the changing results of the images within different
mammal brain structures. First, the investigator could take an image of the brain
with the microscope before the lesion was created, and then proceed to take a picture
after the lesion was created. The occipital lobe could be examined more in depth
through fine
45. The Banking Industry and Customer Research
The Banking industry and Customer Research
Discussion
Given the competitive atmosphere in banking and the need to interest and retain
clients, banks rely strongly on client s satisfaction and customer loyalty. This is
particularly so given today s slowing industry growth and tremendous pressure to
maintain and hold onto one s business. Traditional banks also today face competition
from online banks that can afford to offer customers attractive deposit products at low
rates and that provide attractive interest rates. Aside from that, traditional banks face
competition, too, from non banks, such as a Wal Mart, that open banks within their
stores. For all these reasons and more, the reputation and success of traditional banks
directly hinges on the extent to which they manage to retain their client s services and
please him to the extent that he will refer others to the bank. The better then that the
bank knows their individual clients and factors that they seek from the bank, the
better then will the bank succeed in pleasing these clients and attracting others.
Customer research, ipso facto, is a significant part of marketing in terms of enabling
the bank to maintain and enhance its portfolio. Customer research is all the more
effective when it characterizes an open door policy with the bank and when it uses
inbound marketing to reach customers outside the bank. In fact, given that banks
have a tough time to differentiate themselves from one another, they rely heavily on
