WHY IS GEOGRAPHY IMPORTANT IN HISTORY?

Geography is important because it is a major
factor in why people choose to live where
they do, how battles are fought, and in how
much the people come into contact with
                   others outside their area.
WHY IS GEOGRAPHY IMPORTANT IN HISTORY?
River valley civilizations are characterized for
their need and dependency of their
environment. They settle in low fertile land,
irrigated by major rivers. Their main
resource is water, but, because fo it, they
find or create secondary resources such as:
                   fish, farming, and commerce.

< Look at the Nile Delta. It ends in the
Mediterranean, but it is sorrounded by a
                    desertic environment. Could a civilization
                    flourish in such a place?
