Hinduism is an ancient religion that originated in northern India over 7,000 years ago. There are nearly 1 billion Hindus worldwide, about 14% of the total population. Hinduism believes in one supreme god Brahman who is the creator of all things. There are also many other gods that represent different aspects like Agni the god of fire. The nine main beliefs of Hinduism are the four Vedas as scripture, endless cycles of creation/preservation/dissolution, karma and reincarnation, communicating with unseen gods through rituals, enlightened masters can teach transcendence, all life is sacred and practicing non-injury, and that no single religion has an exclusive path to salvation.

Hinduism is very old.
Dating back past
7000 BC. It originated
around northern India
near the Indus river.
This is where it gets
its name from.
There are many people that
follow Hinduism in the world.
There are almost one billion
Hindus in the world, which is
close to 14% of the total
population.

There are many gods in Hinduism. Over 1000
are mentioned in the Vedas. There are a few
gods that are known is other cultures such as
Vishnu and Shiva. Brahman is the creator god
of everything. Its believed that everything is
birthed from Brahman and they go back to him
when they die. He is the supreme god.
There are also many other
gods that represent other
things. Agni is the god of
fire, Indra is the warrior god
and so on.
