1. Hills Like White Elephants Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Hills Like White Elephants" can present a unique set of
challenges. Ernest Hemingway's short story is known for its subtlety and ambiguity, requiring a
careful analysis to decipher the underlying themes and messages. The narrative is laden with
symbolism, and exploring the nuances of the characters' dialogue demands a keen understanding
of the author's minimalist style.
The task becomes intricate as one navigates through the delicate themes embedded in the
text—issues of communication, societal expectations, and the complexity of personal choices.
Formulating a coherent and insightful essay requires delving into the characters' motivations,
deciphering the symbolism of the landscape, and unraveling the layers of subtext in their
conversations.
Moreover, addressing the implications of the story's open ending adds an additional layer of
complexity. It necessitates a thoughtful exploration of potential outcomes and the impact of the
characters' decisions on their lives.
Writing an essay on "Hills Like White Elephants" demands not only literary analysis skills but
also the ability to convey one's interpretations in a clear and engaging manner. Striking a balance
between providing evidence from the text and offering original insights can be challenging,
requiring a nuanced understanding of the story's multiple dimensions.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on "Hills Like White Elephants" requires a careful examination
of the story's intricate elements, from its symbolism to the nuanced dialogue. Successfully

Throughout the article, An Image of Africa: Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness,
Chinua Achebe explores how Joseph Conrad was racist in his book, The Heart of
Darkness, and the common stereotypes people have of Africans, or of Africa as a
whole. Achebe discusses that people have coined Africa... Show more content on

Achebe believes that Conrad insults and questions the humanity of Africans.
Despite of Africa s long history of the agonies and atrocities that Africans have
suffered through, Conrad continues to add darkness to the African history as if
Africans have not suffered enough already. Achebe displays his rationales on why
Conrad was extremely racist in his novella by saying that Conrad was blind. His
xenophobia and his strong intention of condemning the darkness of imperial
exploitations led him to be unaware of the extent of racism in the book. The level of
thought and insight in Achebe s article proves useful in evaluating the topic of
racism in Joseph Conrad s book. Though the article is knowledgeable and articulate,
the article shows some form of bias considering the fact that the author is an African
himself. The author s personal feelings led to him greatly
3. Racing Flat Research Paper
The Preferred Choice
Fast times are the key to success in the world of running. When it comes to race
day attire you have two real options that will give you an advantage over someone
wearing a normal training shoe. These are a racing flat and a spike. A racing flat
has the ability to support an athlete on uneven terrain and provide them cushioning
on hard surfaces making them incredibly versatile. Also a racing flat is more than
capable of being worn for races as long as a marathon while being light enough to
give you great increases in performance. Finally The available cushion and natural
range of motion that a racing flat provides tends to cause less injury in athletes than
in a spike. Because of the reasons listed, a racing flat ... Show more content on

This can be supported by, A study published in a 2012 issue of the Journal of the
American College of Sports notes that people who run in barefoot or with
minimalist shoes such as racing flats instinctively land toward the ball of the foot.
This reduces the risk of injury, which is more prevalent for those who land on the
heel (Yemi 1). This is a clear fact that has been supported by numerous studies. The
nature of a racing flat allows your foot to go through a more natural motion while
running. This reduces injury. Another factor that makes a racing flat good at reducing
injury is that it still has sufficient cushioning. Also in the study conducted by the
Journal of Sports Science and Medicine they say that In this study, the amplified
loading rate, stiffness, and peak vertical impact force demonstrate that running spikes
and flats produced a greater external force on the body. The initial impact force
between the foot and the ground is directly transmitted to the leg and can potentially
be an influential factor in injury risk (logan, Hunter, and Hopkins 6). The cushioning
as mentioned previously is light enough to give an athlete better performance while
still substantial enough to protect the runner from some of this initial shock of
running on a hard surface such as a track. A spike on the other hand has little to none
resulting in more force being exhibited on the joints and
4. International Joint Ventures Is The Second Circumstance...
3.0 Definition of IJVs International joint ventures is an overseas business owned
and controlled by two or more partners; starting such a venture is often as an entry
strategy (Deresky, H. 2014.p.377), while joint ventures refers to an independent
entity jointly created and owned by two or more parent company. 4.0
Circumstances under which Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) internationalize
using IJVs Risk sharing is one of the circumstance why MNEs form JV, it is
commonly practiced in industries that require high capital and where the cost of
developing a product is very high (Zhou and Li 2008). IJVs allows to gain rapid
entry into a new industry and to benefit from synergies to develop a new product
or technology (Dr. Ananthram. 2016). For example NEC AT T. Economies of
scale is the second circumstance for MNEs using IJVs. Due to the enjoyment of
economies of scale obtained by MNEs allows it to form a JV with a large company
to compete at a global level where the pool their resources in order to reach a wider
consumer base (Deresky, H. 2014.p.238). The third circumstance for MNEs using
IJV is to gain access to a specific market, where regulations favour domestic
companies for example China, Russia (EU) (Dr. Ananthram. 2016). In this case the
MNEs do not have the understanding of carrying out business activities in another
country, which may include the taste of consumer products or appropriate methods of
distribution which in turn can prove to be expensive and time
5. Gallup Summary
Gallup, New Mexico, is a border town just outside the Navajo Nation reservation
with an estimated 22,000 residents; however, that number nearly triples on the first
of the month. Social Security checks are distributed to elders and veterans on the
first of the month, and most tribal members have neither access to a local bank nor
sufficient consumer spending options on the reservation. Therefore, most Navajos
end up driving for an hour or more to purchase much needed groceries, lumber, auto
parts, and kid s school clothes in border towns such as Gallup. According to the
University of New MexicoBureau of Business and Economic Analysis study,
significant competition for retail dollars from the Navajo Nationis spread among
several surrounding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Second, having so few employers and jobs available in Indian Country leads to high
unemployment rates. And, third, the absences of thriving economies, characterized
by a sufficient number of privately and publically owned businesses in Indian
Country, adds to the impoverishment of Indians and their families.
Although the trust land issue is not specifically emphasized by Miller, this article
focuses on trust land as a primary impediment for entrepreneurs who want to start up
small businesses or pursue entrepreneurial endeavors on the Navajo reservation.
Because Navajo land is held in trust, the United States government has legal
ownership of the land, and tribes and individual Indians are merely beneficial owners.
Selling and leasing Navajo land, even for community development, must be approved
by the United States. In his article, Ending the Curse of Trust, noted tribal
entrepreneur Lance Morgan says:
Trust status hurts individual American Indians. It prevents us from using our land as
collateral, which has effectively killed Native owned agriculture. [*181] This system
left us with almost no choice but to lease out our land, primarily to non Indians. That
s why we are land rich, but still dirt
6. Summary Of The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao
In The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz the author uses the trick of
different stories to sew together a series of experiences to create the full story of
Oscar s life. There are many important pieces in the book that help create an
understanding of how Oscar came to be Oscar. One example is the experiences of
his family members while they lived in Santo Domingo, such as La Inca deciding
to go find Beli and also when Beli fell in love with the Gangster. The influence of
the sci fi world has also had a massive effect on Oscar, since he had no real
examples of a healthy relationship he was under the impression that all relationships
had to be like the one s he saw in movies. Overall the influence of his mother s past
and the influence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A turning point in Oscars future was when La Inca went to find Beli and save her
from the family who locked her in a chicken coop. That was incredibly important
because if La Inca hadn t gone and got Beli then Beli wouldn t have had to flee to
America and Oscar wouldn t have been born at all. Diaz chose specific points in
the book to tell the story of Beli while also telling the story of Oscar to show how
Beli s life influenced Oscar. The use of Yunior as a narrator in this story is unique
but it provides the reader with a bird s eye view of Beli s past and lets the reader
see how it changed Oscar. Yunior s role shows the reader stories of people s past
that we wouldn t otherwise have known if Yunior or Oscar had told the story from
a first person point of view. Another example of a story that would have been
unknown to the reader is when Beli fell in love with the Gangster, and it eventually
led to her having to leave Santo Domingo to go to America where she would be
safe. If she had not fell for the gangster then she most likely wouldn t have left and
wouldn t have met Oscar s father in New York. If she hadn t left then Oscar would
have grown up in Santo Domingo rather than New Jersey, and Oscar s worldview
would have changed drastically. Diaz introduced the story of Beli growing up in
Santo Domingo to show the difference between growing up there versus Paterson.
The people that came before Oscar changed many aspects of his life and where he
grew
7. Narrative Essay On Baseball
There are only a certain amount of hours in the day consumed with everyday life
tasks that make up how one is are and how one lives. Growing up, time becomes
more precious and focused upon. Although, what if there was a way to escape from
reality and lose track of all time? Captivated by baseball, time is nonexistent when
the pressure is on and the crowds turn into silence with nobody surrounding me.
Developing skills overtime for baseballgrowing up has aided me to lose track of the
moment. Every timeI step out on the diamond, my teeth like spikes sink slowly into
the clay, and I escape to a different world existent without time. Before the game,
coach tells me to study the pitchers habits so I can guess what he will throw next.

Standing in place to hit, I placed my body in the batter s box, and overlooked the
bright green field. Hearing no sound but the dirt brushing against my metal spikes,
and my gloves rubbing against my bat to rotate it in position, I took a deep breath,
exhaling air like it was mist. Overviewing the opponents, nerves began to fill my

count went down 0 1. After, the pitcher threw a ball, and I seemed to recall his
pattern, that being the same count as the hitter before me, and on this count 1 1 he
threw a curveball so I told myself to expect the same pitch based off of his method.
Reassuring my nerves, my legs began to stand still in the knowledge of his
repetition. When the pitcher came set, it felt like time froze and only him and I
stood on the field tunnel vision. The sixty foot depth of perception grew in slow
motion as the pitcher picked up his leg in the stretch beginning his throwing
motion. The seventy five mph curveball dropped right into my wheelhouse coming
towards me as if it was a floating beach ball. Tracking the ball to the sweet spot of
my bat, again time is frozen at contact. The ball then sails over the left fielder and
lands on the warning track while bouncing the fence. Looking back I round first base
and I turn my head in the glance to see my coach sending my teammate for the
8. Nuclear Meltdown Disaster Plan
As our book states, Nurses have both a personal and a professional role in relation
to disasters. Nurses personal role is to develop a disaster plan for work, home, and
family. Professionally nurses are uniquely positioned to provide valuable information
for the development of plans for disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and
recovery for the facilities in which they are employed as well as the communities in
which they live (Nies, 2015). The community nurseas the book states has the means
and the knowledge to be influential in helping plan disaster protocols with the many
different governmental and community groups. The video, PBS Video: Nuclear

persons, and for special situations, such as the safe transport of school children or
hospital patients out of the area (Emergency Preparedness, 2016). As a community
nurse much of the emergency response plan can be implemented by us. Nies states
that there are three levels Primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention that all nurses
can help implement. Preventative actions during the non disaster stage (primary),
include assessing communities to determine potential disaster hazards; developing
disaster plans at local, state, and federal levels; conducting drills to test the plan;
training volunteers and health care providers; and providing educational programs of
all kinds (Nies, 2015). Secondary prevention as the book states is what needs to be
done after the disaster occurs. This mainly deals with preventing further problems
and maintaining safety. Finally, tertiary prevention deals

10. Essay about Honored Irish Immigrants
For many people, the American dreams and promises brought ideas and new hopes
of a better life. For the Irish, the American dreams and promises weren t just ideas
and hopes, they were the way to a new beginning in America, a way to start over
and forget the horrifying past they encountered. The Irish struggled day after day to
pay for fair travel to America. To many people, the challenge the Irish overcame
seemed to deserve praise. Today, the Irish are honored and commemorated for their
hard work and desire for a better life.
The start of the Irish peoples struggles began when the British came and destroyed
their way of life. The Penal laws of 1691 stripped Irish Catholics of their freedoms by

People worried about the potato crop. At first, the potatos seemed fine, but after
further examination the potatos were rotten. In October of 1845, Britain s Prime
Minister, Sir Robert Peel, established a scientific commission to discover over half
of Irelands potatos had been ruined by wet rot. The potato crop failed time and time
again. Irish people began to lose hope in receiving better living conditions, but the
shipping lanes opened to America after they had been closed by the war (Philip).
Irish began to think of the American dream and promise.
The American dream and promise changes a nations state of mind. It originally
comes from the Declaration of Independence. The promise is all men are created
equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights. The
dream: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. All of which were things the Irish
desired (Pendry).
According to Philips, between 1815 and 1816, around 20,000 Irish traveled to the
Americas. These emigrants were mostly professionals and shopkeepers, because
farmers couldn t afford travel. Over the next two decades shipping fees continued
to have outrageous prices, but between 1823 and 1825 more people, such as the
merchants and farmers, were able to travel because free passage and land grants
were allowed to Catholics. The largest emigration was in 1827 when nearly 400,000
Irish traveled to the Americas on Coffin Ships; overcrowded ships filled

Lethal Injections and the Involvement of Medical Personnel
Death penalty, or capital punishment, is the execution of a person as a punishment for
a crime. Throughout history, the death penalty has been a prominent part of society.
In ancient Mesopotamia, the death penalty was seen as retribution for certain crimes,
and to this day, is now a common practice in the United States. Before, when the
United States were still colonies, the death penalty had been carried out by hanging
and other various methods but today in the modern age, the Unites States method of
execution in most states is lethal injection (Issitt). Unlike previous methods, such as
electrocution and the firing squad, the lethal injection is virtually painlessly due to
certain drugs being injected into the patient that put the patient to sleep during the
process. Due to its medical nature, medical personnel, such as anesthesiologists are
needed to administer the drugs, but is it ethical for them to participate in the
execution of people?
Throughout the process of a lethal injection, there are many drugs inserted into the
prisoner. Before the drugs are administered, the prisoner is first brought into a room,
that looks very much like a hospital room, with all the medical equipment inside.
Within the room, there is a cardiac monitor, and other medical items. The inmate is
then strapped to trolley, much like the one below: And hooked up
12. Hair Modification In African American Culture
Hair modification is a century old tradition for all ethnicities. The focus of this
research paper will be the benefits of natural hair versus relaxed hair within the
African American hair community. My position on this issue is that the natural state
of hair is inherently better than the processed relaxed state of hair, even though
African American women continue to relax their hair the outcome may be extreme.
The actual process of hair straightening came from a man named Garrett Augustus
Morgan. As a black inventor, his accomplishments weren t widely known but indeed

The first step is analyze the hair that will be relaxed. Make sure to protect neck and
body with cover. Next you will part the hair into sections and clip them to keep all
separate. This is when a protective base will be applied to the hairline. This step is
for a base relaxer. There are non base relaxers as well. It depends on the type of
relaxer one decided to use. The protective base can be applied to other areas of the
hair. This ultimately depends on the manufacturer. In the sodium hydroxiderelaxer,
the formula can have built in ingredients to protect the scalp of the client. This is
calls a base formula. A no base formula does not have this petroleum cream which
in turn has a milder reaction. The process is the same just without the cream. Once
you apply the protectant it is imperative to wear gloves to protect hands from
chemicals in the actual relaxer . Next, you apply the relaxer one section at a time
with a comb, brush, or even fingers. Then use the comb to smooth out the rest of
the relaxer. The manufacture of the hair relaxer will include instructions for use.
This will tell you when to apply the relaxer to the actual scalp and how long the
relaxer should remain in the hair before rinsing it out. After the relaxer, has been
rinsed out it is optional to apply a neutralizer. The neutralizer that makes sure the rest
of the relaxer is out. This once again depends on the chosen relaxer type. After the
neutralizer shampoo has been rinsed out the final steps are to condition and style.
Style option which typically incorporates flat ironing or a heat based style. Even with
varying type of hair relaxers, the process is typically the same by processing,
neutralizing, and then conditioning the

The public sector being an economic agent, acts on behalf of the public to
judiciously harness all economic resources for the benefit of all. Comprising of the
Executive, the Judiciary, the Legislative, the Armed Forces, the Para Military
Organisations, the Police, the Ministries, the Public Enterprises (collectively
referred to as Ministries, Departments and Agencies), the public sector refers to a
system of government employees, elected or appointed that serve members of the
public through the provision of goods and service. The term is also a generic name
for both the civil service and the parastatals or public enterprises combined. It
equally encompasses undertakings that engage in the provision of goods and
services which the private sector may not be able to invest in. It is generally
recognized that the public sector, as an instrument for carrying out government
policies, has a vital role to play in the social and economic development of a country.
OVERVIEW OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE PUBLIC SECTOR IN NIGERIA
The evolution of the Public Service was described by Maduabum (2006) thus; * The

examples of this idea through the concepts presented in texts such as Aristotle s

Special interests groups which are also referred to pressure groups or interest groups
are an organization of individuals who come together with a common concern, and
they are usually formally organized with an aim to influence the public policy in their
favor. The main objective of people who form special interest groups is to influence
the governmentto make policies which are beneficial to them (Almond Coleman,
2015). These groups may either be fighting for a single section in the society like
subsidies for farmers or a common cause which affects the society like reducing
global warming. They usually use the tactic of lobbying so that the government or
the policy makers can make a policy which they need. The special groups are

In these countries, there is also a belief that the special interest groups represented
their interests instead of that of the general public. In the countries which have
authoritarian regimes, the operations of the special interest groups are limited and in
other places they are even banned (Berry, 2015). The political cultures differ from
country to country, and so do the special interest groups. However in some countries
such as Sweden, the government supports the special interest groups through funding
and also involves them in policy making. In other communist countries, the special
interest groups operate under fear of facing legal action from the government because
they are not given the right to operate (Gilens Page, 2014). The ruling parties in all
the countries influence the importance of the special interest
16. Types of Attention Related Disorders
Attentional disorders and deficits are classified as neurological diseases that can
result from congenital factors, as well as, head traumas and damages in the brain.
There are other types of attention related disorders that can be categorized in terms of
physiology, which include those associated with frontal cortical processing, parietal
cortical processing, and the undetermined.
The disorders linked to frontal cortical processing include: Frontal Lobe Disorder and
Frontal Lobe Epilepsy. These disorders are caused by impairment of the frontal lobe
region of the brain due to disease or severe head trauma linking to attentional deficits
in higher level processing and difficulties in focusing.
Frontal Lobe Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that that is caused by recurring
seizures in the frontal lobes of the brain, which can cause problems in learning
affecting motor coordination, planning and attention span. Both frontal lobe disorder
and epilepsy are prone to attentional impairment and difficulties of concentration.
The disorders that are connected to parietal cortical processing include: Attentional
Dyslexia, Balint s Syndrome (Optic Ataxia, Ocular Apraxia, and Simultagnosia),
Hemispatial Hemianopia Neglect (Anosognosia), and Somatoparaphrenia. These
disorders are linked to impairment in the parietal cortical area of the brain and are
linked to deficits in spatial attention, attentional shifting and concentration.
Attentional dyslexia is caused by parietal damage
17. The Enterprise And Regulatory Reform Bill
As of October 2013 the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill was amended by
parliament under the proposal of Vince Cable , the new powers gave shareholders
a binding vote on executive compensation , this meant that any changes in
executive pay required a 50% shareholders approval. Before this shareholders votes
on such matters were advisory , this meant even if there was a vote against
executive pay they could still be increased regardless. This is significant as it
shows a change in peoples perception on the role of shareholders within a company
and leads to the point if this is correct. One of the main reason for such a change in
the bill was many of the public felt that executive s were over paid, The average
FTSE 100 chief... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the view of many these increases of there pay were not justified , and was a
contrast to shareholders investment money going down in value due to decrease in
share prices of the company. What this showed was in some instances the
objective of the executive s were given priority of the shareholder which ultimately
led to the shareholders losing out , and so introducing such power allowed
shareholders to allocate pay rewards more closely aligned with corporate
objectives and performance. These reasons overall echo the idea that it allows
shareholders to have a greater say on how the company should be run by
controlling the pay of executives as before this shareholders would be very limited
in the say of pay with the only option being to replace committee members and
directors. This in itself would not be a likely option as it could become costly in
the long run and create uncertainty which may have more negative impacts. One of
the reasons to give such measures was to reduce such excessive pay packages to
executive so the question to ask is whether these reforms introduced since 2013 has
actually worked. According to PWC at the end of 2013 percentage base pay
increase of main board members increased by 3.5% compared with the national
average earning of 1%

Drug and Alcohol Abuse Substance abuse can occur with legal drugs like alcohol,
tobacco and prescription medications, illegal drugs that are purchased on the street,
or prescription drugs used for reasons other than health. Alcohol is the most
frequently used legal drug, and cocaine, heroin, and marijuana are the most
commonly used illegal drugs. Each drug has precise effects on body systems. Some
drugs can lead to acute and chronic problems; some even can cause death. Nurses are
among the few health care professionals who assess and care for substance abusers.
As such, they should be equipped to distinguish the symptoms of substance abuse and
put into practice measures to support and help these people (Bailes, 1998). Substance
abuse involving drugs, alcohol, or both is linked with a variety of negative social
conditions, including family disturbances, monetary problems, lost output, and
failure in school, domestic violence, child abuse, and crime. Furthermore, both social
attitudes and legal answers to the use of alcohol and illicit drugs make substance
abuse one of the most multifaceted public health issues. Estimates of the total overall
costs of substance abuse in the United States, including lost productivity and health
and crime related costs, exceed $600 billion annually (Substance Abuse, 2012).

20. Symbolism InBattle Royal, By Ralph Ellison
In Battle Royal by Ralph Ellison, the narrator who remains nameless, is looking
back on his teenage years while telling a story from his past. In the story, the
narrator is invited to a party to deliver a speech, however when he arrives he is
forced to partake in the Battle Royal. Battle Royal is a chapter from Ellison s book
Invisible Man, which is about an African Americanteenager who grows up in a
society where he finds himself invisible, as did Ellison himself. In Ralph Ellison s
Battle Royal, the American flag tattoo, the blindfold, and the grandfather s deathbed
symbolize the overall message that the African Americans were dominated by the
whites.
The narrator of the story is invited to a party, where he is supposed to present his
speech in front of all the people who attend. At the party, the white men invite a
stripper to intimidate and scare the African American teenagers. The teenagers are
forced to stare at the white, blonde, naked woman that stands in front of them, with
no way out and not knowing how to react. While recalling the story from his past,
the narrator notices that the stripper has a tattoo of the American flag. The
American flag is particularly symbolic to this story, since it is placed on a white
woman. While being forced to stare at the naked woman at the party, the narrator
says, I wanted at one and the same time to run from the room, to sink through the
floor, or go to her and cover her from my eyes and the eyes of the others with my
body (Ellison). Even if they do have feelings for her, they are forbidden to act upon
them, since it was illegal to have mixed race relationships during the 20th century.
According to SAGE Publications, the emergence of racial genomics, I argue, is a
response to these specific threats to the racial hierarchy and to white dominance
(Fitzgerald). The white men bring the stripper to the party, mainly to torture the
teenagers and make them feel uncomfortable. The white men dominate over the
African Americans, and therefore feel that it is right to control their every action.
Unlike today, where interracial relationships and marriages are accepted, in the 20th
century it was even forbidden to look at a woman of the other race.

The types and doses of asthma medications a person needs will depend on their age
and symptoms. Asthma medication have types: long term medications and quick
relief medications. Long term medicine are taken regularly to control the
symptoms and prevent attacks. While quick relief medicine are rescue
medications and its taken as needed for rapid, short term relief of symptoms, it s
used to prevent and treat an asthma attack. The main goal of the treatment is to
control it. The doctor will decide which asthma medicines the person should use.
The medicine comes in several brands and various forms such as sprays, pills,
powders, liquids and shots, but most are taken using an inhaler. An inhaler allows
the medicine to go directly to your lungs. Here mention are some medication

dry powder inhalers, and nebulizers. As an example of how one of the devices, dry

First used as a drug to help the clinically depressed look into themselves and how to
better express their feelings, 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA for
short, was later classified as schedule 1 drug in July 1984. MDMA is making a
comeback in recent years hitting the club scene and ravers of all ages are
beginning to get mixed up with MDMA and taking it irresponsibly. People
unbeknownst to the repercussions to the effects of this drug are dying as a result to
it. There has been many studies on MDMA s effects on rats which can show
similarities and the effects of what they can do to humans. MDMA affects people in
many ways. MDMA affects memory, social interaction, the nervous systemand it has
lasting effects on rats. According to Dzietko (2010), a small dose of MDMA in a rat
during a time where the rats brain is developing goes through major changes in
different parts of the brain. The amphetaminelike substance, MDMA, has neurotoxic
effects that lead to damage in the nervous system including serotonergic fibers,
dopamine levels, and neurons. MDMA specifically has a direct effect on serotonin
levels where it unleashes large amounts of it into the brain where there is not
normally that amount present. The negative emotions and feelings that should be
present that the brain is making is at the time is contained. With that much in the
brain it leads to nerve endings and synpatic vesicles clouded with serotonin which
stops the intake of the body producing

Conflict is everywhere we go, at home, school, church in the community and
especially at work. How we decide to handle the conflict at hand will determine
whether we strengthen the relationship or break it up. Each situation can be dealt

25. Howards End and the Uncanny
In what ways are the realist tendencies of Howards End undermined by the presence
of the uncanny?
Realism is both reliant on and thoroughly undermined by the uncanny. Realism was
prominent during the 19th and 20th centuries. According to the Oxford Dictionary of
Literary Terms realism is a general attitude of literature that rejects idealization,
escapism and other extravagant qualities of romance. It must be noted that realism is
not simply a realistic slice of life but a system of conventions producing a lifelike
illusion. The uncanny is a kind of disturbing strangeness evoked in literature. Freud s
1919 essay The Uncanny, or Das Unheimlich, discusses the subject in detail, stating
that the uncanny is a subject which arouses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This aspect undermines realist convention because a lot of the death involves fate
and a hint of the supernatural. Bennett and Royle s definition of realism is that it
describes the world as it really is. The deaths involved in Howards End are entirely
unlike they would happen in the real world. To begin with, Ruth Wilcox seems to
slip into death with an entirely supernatural ease. Towards the end of the novel,
Leonard Bast s death is, as far as can be said, an average death due to a heart attack
but the fact that he was struck with the blunt edge of a sword which caused his death
is entirely uncanny and slightly bizarre for the time period in which the novel is set.
Many characters in Howards End experience the death drive laid out in Bennett
and Royle s uncanny chapter. This is the idea that everyone, at some level [...] is
driven by a desire to die. It is as though we are on a monotonous march towards
death. Henry Wilcox is a prime example of the death drive. Towards the finish of
the novel, Henry, Helen and Margaret move in to Howard s End and Henry s
health fails. He becomes pitiably tired with the weight of the world on his
shoulders. Reality comes to Henry at a late stage in his life and the effect it has on
him is rooted firmly in reality as well as the uncanny. This fatigue causes Henry to
drain himself, to be that one step closer towards death on his life long march.

* Follow instructions from emergency services, and other members of staff.
Emergency services may give instructions over the phone, such as move child into

the child. And is helpful for the emergency services as they are aware of how the
child/young person is reacting to this.

27. An Analysis Of Hitchcock s The Caged Birds Versus The...
Psychologists have suggested the idea that correlation does not imply causation. In
The Birds, viewers find themselves unable to identify the purpose or the cause for the
birds attacks. Hitchcock does not want us to know the answers either, since Hitchcock
marvels at his ability to make viewers question his films and struggle at truly enjoying
without fully understanding them. Although this essay cannot find a cause for the
attacks in the town or to the characters that seem to be innocent like the children and
the old man in the farm, it should shed some light on the correlation between the
timing of the attacks near the Brenner family and Melanie and their internal struggle.
The symbolism of the caged birds versus the free birds, the Jocasta complex Lydia
struggles with, and the imagery of the light versus darkness when the birds attack
represent the journey Mitch and Melanie face in trying to be together. First we
must make the distinction between caged and free birds. The caged birds signify
a well mannered, tamed, and socially acceptable human being while the free birds,
or rather the birds that attack, have the liberty to act in opposition to the caged
ones. In the beginning scene, after Melanie s attempt to impress Mitch, Mitch
salvages the bird she mistakenly let escape and as he puts it back in its cage says,
Back in your gilded cage Melanie Daniels . This metaphorical cage Melanie resides in
is one made up of riches where she is spoiled and superficial, but she

As well as the climate is one of the reasons too; it dries up the plants. Likely, the
intense heat from the sun or a lightning strike combusts fire with sawdust, dried

the U.S. Wildfire Activity Public Information Map shows the fires are around the

29. Root Cause Analysis In Healthcare Organization
A root cause analysis (RCA), an organized protocol or procedure, institutes a means
of analyzing a sentinel or adverse event that occurs within a healthcare facility,
ultimately uncovering causes of problems or errors. U.S. hospitals are required to
keep confidential records within the facility of adverse reactions, yet RCAs are
mandated to accompany a reported sentinel event to the accreditation organization,
the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and
other organizations (AHRQ 2014). Various members from all aspects of the hospital
form a multidisciplinary team to analyze, evaluate, and resolve errors with the goal of
prevention of future adverse, sentinel events. A RCA allows for concentration on
events and underlying problems that contributed to the incident rather than focusing
on individual actions and behaviors (AHRQ 2012).

Jane Austen was born in December 16, 1775 in Steventon, Hampshire, England.
Jane was the seventh of eight children and the second of two girls. Growing up
Jane and her older sister, Cassandra attended Abby s boarding school, their only
education outside of their family.( ) As a result, she became ever fascinated by a
world of stories, Jane began to write in bound notebooks ( Jane AustenBiography ).
Austen s notebooks were filled with poems and stories that she would soon use in the
fast approaching future. Many of her most famous stories are Emma, Pride and
Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Sense and Sensibility. Within the stories such as in
Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen satirizes values and functioning of the British
Society in several ways through her characters. Firstly, she attacks the numerous
social limitations put on women and their views on marriage resulting because of
these restrictions during that time ( enotes ). Jane Austen often used her writings
to depict her viewpoint of the British Social Class System. British Class System is
a system in which a person belongs to the upper, middle or lower class and is
judged based on where they stand. It often causes them to stay within their class
and if one goes above their rank it may be frowned upon. Mansfield Park written in
1814 and is about a girl, Fanny Price who is taken in by her aunt and uncle when
she was very young. She is cruelly treated by her aunt and her cousins Tom, the

Dr. Joan McClennen The life experience students in the human services field bring

experiences form the basis of each individual s perceptions of certain situations,
populations, or individuals. These perceptions may be influenced by their political
beliefs, religious values, social status, or previous experiences with certain
populations (Lee, Jones, Lewis, 1990).
The National Coalition for the Homeless, (n.d.) found there are over three million
people homeless in America at any given time. Research as shown that homeless
individuals often are treated differently just because of other people s perceptions
toward them (Boydell, Goering, Morrell Bellai, 2000; Harter, Berquist, Titsworth,
Novak, Brokaw, 2005). Persons wanting to work with homeless individuals should be
aware of any biases they bring with them when working with this population.

32. Fire Jimi Hendricks Analysis
Jimi Hendricks is one of the most famous rock musicians of all time. His technique
of handling the guitar, his attitude to the electric rock genre and his lyrics stand out
beyond anyone else s in his era. Although he died at a young age of 27, Hendricks
had already become a legend with albums such as Electric Lady land, which he
produced in 1968. The performance of his song, Fire, is revered as one that will
remain in the minds of many because of the passion Hendricks put into his
performance. The simplicity of its melody and the main riff ensured that the audience
could remember the music easily. Additionally, the performance of the song, which
utilized strong vocals, ensured that the melody could stick in the minds of those who

The song shows the hospitality of the family where Hendricks and his band
sheltered after performing in a Christmas gig. Apart from that, the song has some
sexual overtones especially when Hendricks states ...let Jim take over. The line
seems to suggest that that Jim had a sexual desire for the woman mentioned in the
song. Hendricks utilizes octaves in his song to create harmony between various
sections of the song. Although some parts of the song seem to be broken and
unrelated to one another, Hendricks manages to form a good melody at the end of
the song. This may seem like a dissonance, but the use of octaves in most parts of the
song ensures that the song has smooth features that enhance its harmony. This makes
the harmony of Fire a consonant. Harmony is the vital element of the music because
it creates the pace, phase, and the sound of a melody. In essence, for a song to achieve
its musicality, it must have harmony. Harmony is one of the aspects that make the
music sweet in the people s ears. The intervals, octaves and many other elements of
music make up the harmony implying that music cannot be music without harmony.
Therefore, harmony is one of the elements that enhance the perception of a piece of
music such as Fire by the

The TSCGM promotes flexibility and movement between clusters. Our definition
recognizes the need to identify and further develop students who are potentially
gifted. The TSCGM s value of fluency, and the concept that there is no limit to the
amount of high achieving students identified, would allow teachers to move students
to the high achieving cluster easily (Gentry Fugate, 2013, p. 221). According to the
research done Gentry Owen (1999) this model also provides more students that move
up to become high achievers. Our definition states that gifted students will be given
differentiated educational services and experiences to meet their needs and abilities .
The TSCGM places importance on providing teachers with professional development
opportunities that focus on differentiation and gifted education strategies. Therefore,
teachers will be given the expertise and resources needed to provided these
educational services and experiences within the general classroom. Our definition
also requires school staff to annually review and report on the progress of gifted
students. This fits in with the TSCG model because it requires teachers and
administration to review student data yearly to create new cluster groups (Gentry
Fugate, 2013, p.218). I think by using TSCG, more gifted students in our district will
be receiving services during most, if not all, of all of their instruction time, and all of
our students will be positively

36. The Holy And Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
The New Jerusalem, of which the victorious the Lamb is the center, evokes rich
images of all creation centered in worship around the Lamb from whom all life
flows. These images of Revelation 21 22 give purpose to the Church who, like a
bride, awaits her groom. The eschatological reality of the coming Kingdom of God,
inaugurated in the death and resurrection of JesusChrist, presently breaks forth to
forms the Church for its mission. As Aleksandr Schmemann writes, the Church itself
is a leitourgia, a ministry, a calling to act in this world after the fashion of Christ, to
bear testimony to Him and His kingdom. 1 This leitourgia is embodied in the central
practice of the Church, instituted by the Lord, the Eucharist. The Eucharist, while
invoking a plethora of images, most significantly is a sign of the eschatological
reality of the Kingdom of God. As Rob Staples writes:
The Eucharist as a preview of the final consummation of all things, [is] a foretaste
of the Heavenly Banquet to which we are invited. From a biblical perspective, this is
probably the most significant image of all. In the Eucharist we proclaim the Lord s
death until he comes (1 Cor. 11:26), looking forward to the day when the times will
have reached their fulfillment to bring all things in heaven and on earth together
under one head, even Christ (Eph. 1:10). In ringing tones, the Eucharist celebrates the
eschatological hope of the Christian.2
Consequently, the eschatological hope found in the

The novel Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo, is a novel that describes the life
of Joe, the main character, and how he seems to manage his disabilities after he
had fought in the war. Throughout the course of the war, Joe had lost all of his
senses, despite touch, and every single limb, after he had gotten hit by a bomb.
Once Joe wakes up, he begins falling in and out of consciousness and begins to
experience difficulty finding purpose in life after his incident had occurred. Surely
enough though, Joe had found a purpose for living again and began to try and
communicate with his medical staff, found pleasure in reliving past memories, and
became angered when it came to the government s role in supplying him with
comfort and honor . Along with these ideas of selfidentityand warfare corruption,
flashback, characterization, and author s purpose are all literary devices that work to
enforce the ideas of identity and warfare. Dalton Trumbos Johnny Got His Gun
utilizes flashback, characterization and author s purpose to develop the two central
themes that hardship is found in finding one s self identity and that the true effects of
warfare are much worse than the public perceives it as.
Throughout the novel, Trumbo continues to develop the ongoing idea that self
identity is commonly met with hardship and self acceptance, many problems in
which Joe had to experience as he continued to gain a greater sense of his disabilities.
However, it became especially apparent that

this with his many encounters with them that he comes to the conclusion that they
are blind and loathe the light. The Eloi are practically children, they get nourishment

In the short stories A P by John Updike and Where Are You Going, Where Have

childhood to adulthood. Sammy, from Updike s story, is a nineteen year old boy
whose parents got him a job as a cashier at the local A P. Connie, from Oates story,
is a pretty, blonde, fifteen year old girl who has an almost narcissistic attitude as
she has a habit of constantly checking herself and comparing herself to others. Both
of these teenagers are in the similar position of growing up, however, they are
doing so in very different ways. Sammy faces the decision of staying at his job or

girls walk into the store wearing nothing but bathing suits. Seeing it is a slow day,
Sammy observes the girls as they go through the store and to his luck come to his

them about the store s policy that they should be dressed decently upon entering the

In 2009 the estimated population of people in polyamorous relationships was half a

[polyamorous] relationships really communicate. They communicate to death, said
Bjarne Holmes, a psychologist at Champlain College in Vermont, in comparison to
the levels of communication in single relationships( New Sexual Revolution ).

Should they have the right to feel safe and happy, no matter their means of getting
there? Maybe if there were more answers to the questions people have, just maybe
then polyamory wouldn t be such a scary thing. For instance, many people question
whether polyamory is all about physical attention. The answer is yes and no. No
because the center attraction to polyamory tends to be the love or the amor and the
focus is mostly on relationships; yes because there are always physical attention
properties in almost every relationship. Another question that is commonly asked is
whether polyamory and adultery are similar or go hand in hand. This is not true,
polyamory is about a consensual love that is equal amongst all three members (
Polyterms Aphroweb). The last question, that is asked quite often, is if someone
supports or is in a polyamorous relationship, are they considered anti monogamy (

can be whatever they want and not have to immediately be apposed of the opposite.

serves to foster the integration of international partnerships with neighboring states
and global partnerships with international powers such as the United States, Russia,
the African Union, and the United Nations to pursue global stability through political,

46. Ankle Sprains Research Paper
It s challenging to prevent repeat ankle sprains but it is possible. Unfortunately, with
each occurrence it gets more likely it will happen again. The tendency increases
because the passive stability structures, the ligaments, become loose. The key then is
to optimize the other stability structures.
Sprains typically happen in a side to side direction. The first step is to make sure
that you have the best possible motion in the front to back direction. Stretch the
calves and Achilles tendon to make sure you have good dorsiflexion (toes up towards
knees).
Next, work on balance activity to get the muscles around the ankle working as well
as possible. Start with simple single leg balance with the foot in a good position with
eyes open then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To finalize the process, you will need to progress the stabilization exercises to
include the hip muscles and movements which the ankle decelerates movements in
multiple directions. This is where the skilled advice of a corrective exercise
specialist will become necessary.
Once you sprain your ankle you are more likely to do it again. To strengthen your
ankles do range of motion exercises. Try writing the alphabet with your ankle, so
that you are moving the ankle in all directions. You can also get rubber
strengthening bands and perform the same exercises with resistance. Single leg toe
raises, where you go up on your tiptoes while standing on one leg might also help.
You should be able to do this 10 times in a row without any problem. Physical
therapy can also sometimes be helpful if you do not feel you are making progress on
your own.
It is important to improve ankle dorsiflexion after an ankle sprain. Research
indicates a loss of ankle mobility with chronic ankle sufferers primarily in ankle
dorsiflexion which is the motion you need to walk correctly. Reserach also indicates
a change in muscle control patterns not only in the ankle but also up the kinetic
chain, such as a loss of hip
47. Role Of Economics On Political Change
I also used interpolation to impute missing data for many of my independent
variables. Interpolation can reduce the ability of an independent variable to
explain a dependent variable by reducing the movement of the dependent variable
(Allison 2001). Interpolation is comparable to replacing the actual data with a
trend. You don t expect the trend to explain short term movements in the
dependent variable as well as the actual data. Future Research The findings of this
study produce puzzling conclusions. Moving forward, researchers should look at
the role of economics on political change in the South at a more local level. A
mixed methods approach is most appropriate for this future research because it
would allow for interviews with local party leaders to guide the statistical analyses.
Also, most people are citizens of a community and less so citizens of a state, so
those people should be better able to notice the economic change on a community
level instead of a state level. One particular problem with doing research at the
county level is that often data is not available at the county level. Some of these
issues are solved using multilevel modeling, but a statistical fix does not cure the
absence of data. One of the interesting findings of this project concerned the role of
turnout in affecting party strength. There are several ways forward. For example, it is
possible that turnout drove changes outside of the South. This seems unlikely
because the South had such anemic

(trees that produce cones with seeds). Due to the heavy rain and mild temperatures,
these conifers enjoy maximum year round growth and reach record heights and
girth. Some examples would be the Costal Redwood (300 feet), the Douglas Fir (up
to 280 feet), the Sitka Spruce (230 feet), the Western Red Cedar (200 feet), and the
Western Hemlock (130 feet). Beneath the canopy is the understory. In this layer are
found the dogwood with its beautiful pink and white flowers, and vine maples. Ferns,
salal, and berry shrubs grow in the filtered sunlight beneath the small trees. On the

49. Growth And Development Of Personality Psychology
Corissa Beairsto Personality Psychology 321 09/1/2014 Growth and Development in
Personality Psychology With the growing research in Psychology, we find the
question, how did we get this way, more common in development across the lifespan.
(Cervone Parvin, 2013) Personality theorists are looking more at this question,
pushing to understand personality development even more. Two main challenges are
faced while studying personality development; the patterns of development consistent
with what most people experience and the developmental factors which contribute to
each individual person. (Cervone Parvin, 2013) Here we look at the latter of the two;
what environmental experiences and genetic determinants contribute to who you are?
But also, will siblings have similar personalities based off those environmental and
genetics factors that contribute to personality. In the classic nature vs. nurture theory,
both the environment and genetics play a role in the person you will become,
including your personality. Nature refers to the biological factors we inherit through
our genetics and Nurture refers to the family and societal influences which both may
reflect your personality. (Cervone Parvin, 2013) But, which specific factors are
influential to our personality and sibling differences? Genetics plays a strong role in
individual differences between people. Take the classic example of a child s
temperament, emotional and behavioral tendencies during childhood, where these
51. Major General Benedict Arnold Is Without A Shadow Of A
Doubt
Major General Benedict Arnold is without a shadow of a doubt the most intriguing
and infamous general in American History, perhaps remembered by most as the
infamous American traitor. His bravery, superior tactical skills, greed, need for
self preservation, lust, and jealousy all contributed to him being considered by
various sources to be the most heroic and villainous character in all of American
History. Benedict Arnold was born on January 14, 1741 in Norwich, Connecticut.
His family fortunes were good for a while, but luck would soon run out and that
fortune was lost. His father wasn t much of an influence in Arnold s life after
financial problems revealed themselves. Despite his family s financial problems,

The expedition was, however not as successful as his capture of Ticonderoga, and
some historians even believed that it was doomed from the beginning as the trail to
Quebec was long and deadly. Even when Arnold reached Quebec the cold wet
weather lead to disease and discontent within his regiment. Things soon turned for
the worse as an intercepted British letter told of more redcoat reinforcements were
on the way. Arnold elected to postpone the attack until his backup, Colonel
Montgomery, showed up. But the trail up to Quebec had not been very nice to
Colonel Montgomery forces who showed up with very low morale and most
importantly lower than expected numbers. Despite this fact, Arnold decided to move
ahead with the attack anyways and on December the 31st, 1775 the battle ensued.
The expedition eventually led to a bitter American defeat. Although the expedition
failed, the Americans did manage to sustain as crippling blocked on Quebec which
momentarily secured the colonies northern border. Also Much to Arnold s delight
the news of his bravery followed him home and he was branded an American
Revolutionary hero for his heroic actions in the battle. The leg wound he suffered
during the battle further proved to his comrades and superiors that he is a true
believer in the American cause. Building off his success, Washington, promoted
Arnold to major general in May of 1777. Even with this bitter sweet promotion
Arnold felt a little
52. Medical Malpractice and Tort Systems Essay
Health care organizations, particularly hospitals, currently face numerous legal
issues, several of which will be examined in this paper. The first issue to be
examined is medical malpractice and the tort system. The medical malpractice and
tort system makes up one of the major legal issues encountered by hospitals and
health systems. Showalter (2012) states that with the decline of charitable immunity
in the 1970s, healthcare was one of the areas impacted by personal injury law and
was held liable for negligent acts. Today, malpractice continues to be a significant
problem. Malpractice lawsuits are considered when negligence in medical treatment
provided by a physician, surgeon, other health professional, or hospital results in
injury.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, according to Showalter (2012), physicians consider malpractice suits a
substantial contributing factor to increasing health costs and defensive medicine.
Furthermore, Nelson, Morrisey, and Morrisey (2011) report that physicians
emphasize the negative impact of malpractice lawsuits on their reputations, since
judgments and settlements must be reported to the National Practitioner Data Bank.
Like the malpractice and tort system, HIPAA and data breaches are an important legal
issue that health organizations face. HIPAA was enacted in 1996 to ensure medical
insurance portability and later, to improve standards for health information privacy
and security (Showalter, 2012). As a result, it is currently extremely important that
health organizations are in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure that
patient records are protected; health organizations that fail to comply can face
significant legal costs and penalties. In November 2010, Page and Fields (2011)
report that six hospitals and a nursing home in California that failed to prevent
unauthorized access to confidential patient information were levied a fine totaling
$792,000 in November 2010. More recently, the General Hospital Corporation and
Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, which represent Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston, had to pay the

Despite whether you get a customise SLA or not you should completely understand
all its conditions. Most cloud service supplier will have a SLA accessible for you
online to review, and if not you might dependably contact a representative to get
one to offer you some assistance with making your decision. 5.1.3Clients Support
Choosing the cloud service supplier who give support rather than just exception
additionally technical backing by means of online or by telephone 24 hours a day,
consistently, and including holidays. That means a well prepared and trained team
of support technician observing your data backups at all times. Actually, in a
perfect world it means a group of supports technician so knowledgeable and
proactive that they can recognise a problem with your data even before you do and
get the opportunity to work reporting to it. 5.1.4The cost Cloud suppliers offer an
entire host of pricing choices and structures, it s essential to comprehend what your
alternatives are before selecting a supplier to work with. You have to recognise the
supplier offering the most value for cash, whilst as yet feeling certain that you will
get the services and backing that you require. Concentrating on costs alone might
reduce different qualities that a cloud supplier might offer.
54. Arizona College And Career Ready Standards Policy Brief
To: Professor Stritch
From: Lexis Townsend
Date: November 14, 2014
Subject: Arizona College and Career Ready Standards Policy Brief
Policy and Background:
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were developed nationally in 2009 with
the intent of better preparing students for college, and their eventual careers. Faced
with the option of whether to adopt or reject CCSS, the state of Arizona chose the
former. The Arizona College and Career Ready Standards (AZCCRS) were officially
adopted in 2010, with required implementation starting in the 2013 school year. The
approved common core subjects are English and math, and place a heavy focus on
the development of real world, critical thinking skills. Common Core standards
were adopted by the state of Arizona because of the perceived need to enhance
students abilities to transition from K 12 grade levels to college and the career
world. The AZCCRS clearly dictate what Arizona children should know at each
grade level (Expect More Arizona, 2014) Aside from updating everyday classroom
standards, there has also been a push to replace the outdated Arizona s Instrument to
Measure Standards (AIMS) test. While there was debate over which standardize test
to administer, the state of Arizona has decided that Arizona s Measure of Educational
Readiness to Inform Teaching (AZMERIT) will be the best tool to measure the
success of the new educational standards. As with most new policies, there are strong
opinions about the new standards.
55. Top Girls Character Analysis
The play, Top Girls, by Caryl Churchill chronicles the lives of several women and
their struggle to achieve success and happiness, as well as exploring their personal
identities. Moreover, a central theme in the play was that of how one s choices can
affect a person s satisfaction with their life. This theme is especially prevalent in
the two contrasting characters of Marlene and Joyce. In Marlene s life, she is the
top girl. She has a successful career, and is even given a promotion. On the surface,
she is extremely satisfied with her life, however, in order to achieve this
satisfaction, she gave up a lot in her life. It has been years since she saw her
mother and sister, she s not in any stable relationship, and it s revealed that she
gave up her child to her sister s care when she was younger. This particular instance
of Marlene giving up her child is what McAdams would call a nuclear episode a
specific and consequential scene in a life story such as high point, low point, or
turning point. In talking to Joyce about this pivotal moment in her life, Joyce
seemed resolved in her decision, but it was evident in her expression and
physicality that she was still pained by her choice. So, while Joyce may be
satisfied with her work life, her social and family life has been pushed to the
wayside to make room for her big dreams. Yet, despite the difficult choices that
Marlene had to make in order to further her career and life, she still appears generally
satisfied with her
56. Kennel Research Paper
I volunteered at Tender Mercies pet organization on April 1,3, and 20. to complete
my service learning of 6 hours. There is always so much to learn at the kennel
because there is always new dogs looking for homes. Dogs are unique just like
humans and they have different needs and behaviors so it makes it special to care for
them. This timeI had a different experience because I got to learn more about
borders, which are dogs that already have owners and are only staying temporarily.
The time I volunteered, I got to work closer with them and learn how you care for
them. Basically, they are the same as any other dog in the kennel, but they have
special instructions on how to feed them and when to take them outside. The owner
of the dog will leave... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we learn, we learn things depending on our perspective on life, but if you
step back you can see that there are many ways to look at things. If I learned
anything, it s that we all see things different, so we should stop and think about that
before we complain about someone or something. I ve always struggled with that
concept and now it s getting easier to see. If someone says something you don t
agree with, then you have to try to see it from their point of view. For example,
when you are working with people, you have to take their opinions into
consideration or you can t function properly. It is much easier to talk things out
with someone you work with rather than a stranger, but when working at the
kennel, you have to talk to all kinds of people. I ve had to talk to people who
wanted to adopt, people bringing their dogs to stay and other volunteers. When you
do this, you have to listen to their needs and attend to them properly. For example,
when people bring their dogs, you have to abide by their instructions even if they
are different than what you usually do. Also, when people come to adopt, you have
to make sure to tell the truth, but also try to find them a dog they will like according
to their preferences Overall, I learned a lot about how to talk to people and how to
function around
