Hi i need help with these question!!! What is Neotechnic thinking? Can you briefly explain the link between energy use and water use, and give a simple example? Solution 4) Neotechic thinking uses electricity and alloys for industrial development. Neotechnic is the period of industrial development where electricity and alloys were used. 5)Water and Energy are connected. Water is required for generation of all sources of energy (including electricity) and for production processes like cooling thermal processes, cleaning, raw material extraction,crops cultivation for biofuels and for powering turbines. In turn Energy is required to make water resources available for human use and consumption for daily need, irragation etc..

Purification of Wastewater by Metal Oxide Nanoparticles
In todays world, nanotechnology is becoming increasingly popular for water treatment. In this review, we will summarize recent advances in the development of typical metal oxide materials TiO2, Fe3O4 Fe2O3, MnO2, CeO2, MgO and Al2O3 and the related processes for the treatment of various water resources which have been contaminated by organic solutes, inorganic anions, radionuclides, bacteria and viruses. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of a group-based exercise
intervention to improve balancing ability among older adults delivered in natural settings by staff
in local community organizations.
In this study, the quasiexperimental design was used. The participants of this study were older
adults concerned about falls. In this study, community organizations were responsible for
recruiting participants and delivering the intervention. Ninety eight participants were offered the
interventions by 10 community organizations in a group of 5 to 15 persons and 7 organizations
recruited 102 participants (similar groups of 5 to 15 persons) for control group (with home-based
exercises). Participants were assessed by a physiotherapist at the beginning of the study and 3
months later. The researchers compared the demographics, health, balance, and strength of the
two groups.
The mean age of participants was 73.9 years, and 84% were women. More than half of study
participants lived alone, and almost 40% reported having fallen in the year before baseline
assessment. Comparison of intervention and control participants at baseline did not reveal
statistically significant differences in demographics, health, physical activity, or vitality
indicators. Intervention participants improved more than control participants on all statistic
balance indicators except one (lateral reach both sides). Intervention participants also showed
greater improvement in mobility and strength indicators.
The findings of this study are consistent with those of previous researchers who reported that
group-based exercises targeting balance can actually improve balance among older adults.
However, to our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate that intervention effects on
balance are possible when the intervention is managed by community organizations and when
participants register because they are concerned about their balance or worried about falls.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of a group-based exercise
intervention to improve balancing ability among older adults delivered in natural settings by staff
in local community organizations.
In this study, the quasiexperimental design was used. The participants of this study were older
adults concerned about falls. In this study, community organizations were responsible for
recruiting participants and delivering the intervention. Ninety eight participants were offered the
interventions by 10 community organizations in a group of 5 to 15 persons and 7 organizations
recruited 102 participants (similar groups of 5 to 15 persons) for control group (with home-based
exercises). Participants were assessed by a physiotherapist at the beginning of the study and 3
months later. The researchers compared the demographics, health, balance, and strength of the
two groups.
The mean age of participants was 73.9 years, and 84% were women. More than half of study
participants lived alone, and almost 40% reported having fallen in the year before baseline
assessment. Comparison of intervention and control participants at baseline did not reveal
statistically significant differences in demographics, health, physical activity, or vitality
indicators. Intervention participants improved more than control participants on all statistic
balance indicators except one (lateral reach both sides). Intervention participants also showed
greater improvement in mobility and strength indicators.
The findings of this study are consistent with those of previous researchers who reported that
group-based exercises targeting balance can actually improve balance among older adults.
However, to our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate that intervention effects on
balance are possible when the intervention is managed by community organizations and when
participants register because they are concerned about their balance or worried about falls.

(segments) in the developing insect embryo. Different Hox genes are turned on (expressed) in
different segments of the body, and in this way they determine which segments become head and
which thorax, which develop legs and which antennas. One surprising thing about the Hox genes
is that they usually occur in a row on the same chromosome and in the same order as the body
regions that they control. For example, the fruit fly Drosophila Melanogaster has eight Hox
genes located on a chromosome in exactly the same order as the body regions in which they are
expressed, from head to tail. If the eight genes were thrown randomly onto the same
chromosome, what is the probability that they would line up in the same order as the segments in
which they expressed?
Solution
This is a permutations problem, where you can think of each Hox gene being \"chosen\" for a
\"slot\" in the chromosome has its own probability. Contrast this to combinations problems,
where order does NOT matter. Here\'s the formula for the number of possible permutations:
P = n! / (n-k)! where n = the pool of genes, and k = the number of genes we\'re pulling out. There
are 8 genes we\'re working with, and we\'re putting them all in a chromosome. So the number of
permutations is:
P = 8! / (8-8)! = 8! / 0! = 8!/1 = 8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1 = 40320 different permutations.
So, that\'s how many different ways these genes can be chaotically and randomly oriented. But
we want them in a very specific order - one after the next, specifying a position for each and
every gene. Normally in permutations problems, you\'d have some leeway with how many
different ways the proposed sequence can be achieved (e.g. drawing a red then blue marble,
when there are 20 red marbles and 10 blue marbles). But in our case, this number is 1, because
there\'s only one way to achieve our proposed sequence. Therefore, the probability is 1/40320, or
0.0025% (about a 400th of a percent). Notice that this has logical implications for the function of
these Hox genes; they were probably slowly built off one another in an evolutionary sequence as
opposed to randomly falling into place. An organism with a mutation in their Hox genes will
have grotesque limb abberations - an example is a Drosophila mutant with a leg coming out of its
head..
