This document provides details on a proposed community managed micro hydropower plant project in Mbulu district, Manyara region of Tanzania. The 25 kW plant would utilize a 40m head from the Hhaynu River to power a cross flow turbine connected to a 40 kVA synchronous generator. It would provide electricity to 3 schools, a health center, and 90 households. The total estimated cost is TZS 273.85 million with funding from REA, Arusha Technical College, and community contributions. The plant is expected to generate annual revenue of TZS 9.8 million from electricity sales.
