This document summarizes a case study of a public hospital in Portugal that adopted a private cloud strategy. This allowed the hospital to make its operations more efficient and environmentally friendly. Specifically, the hospital was able to virtualize its servers and desktops, reducing energy consumption and paper printing. This enabled nearly 3,000 employees to collaborate more easily. The hospital also implemented cloud-based processes to support delivery of care and board meetings. The strategy helped save energy costs and reduce the hospital's environmental impact.
