frequent. A beach city will have plenty of attractions to keep you constantly
entertained, or you can simply relax by the beach. One of the most widely traveled

This is especially rare for a community so close to the beach. Usually coastal cities
are only for those who are wealthy, but with Myrtle Beach you can experience
living in a coastal community for yourself. Furthermore, beyond the reasonable
home prices, Myrtle Beach also has a lower cost of living than many other coastal
cities. You will not break your wallet simply by going to the supermarket and
purchasing a few groceries. Activities for whole family One of the best things
about Myrtle Beach is that is has such a welcoming atmosphere. Since it is such a

The Freedom Writers And Erin Gruwell
The Freedom Writers Diary By: The Freedom Writers and Erin Gruwell
Genre: Nonfiction
Plot summary:
The first pages include a forward by Zlata Filipovic. She is a survivor from the war
in Sarajevo, and many call her the modern day Anne Frank . She talks about how
the writers have affected her life, and how they are an inspiration to many around
the world. The students entries consist of how they do not believe that Mrs.
Gruwell will make it in their school. The students are deemed unteachable by the
school. Mrs. Gruwell, worked two jobs (one at a hotel and as a teacher) to provide
books for her students. The students read Zlata s diary and The Diary of Anne Frank.

Mood:
The mood of this book is hopeful, because, it makes the reader feel as if they can
change anything that they don t agree with. In the book, the students spoke out
about racism and they changed people s views. They also spoke out about how they
wanted to change their lifestyles, and become better people. The book, Freedom
Writers Diary has a mood of hopeful, because it makes you feel as if you can do
anything.
Tone:
Since there are many authors in Freedom Writers Diary , There are different tones to
different entries. One entry, when the author is talking about his friend getting shot,
the tone is shocked, that his friend was shot, and nobody seemed to care. In other
chapters, like the one when a girl is talking about how she will be the first in her
family to go to college, the tone is excited. Throughout the book, the tone is mostly
reflective, because the authors are reflecting on their past choices.
Irony:
The only irony that is in this book, is when many students are saying that
Mrs.Gruwell will not last more than a few weeks, but she ends up lasting multiple
years.
Imagery:
The imagery in this book, is when the Freedom Writers stand in a circle in
Washington D.C, to commemorate those who were lost to a shooting. There is also
imagery when the students stand outside of the school, due to some students being
killed.
Symbolism:
The symbolism of having visitors, (Zlata and Miep) is that there will be something
Review Of First Person Narration Of Bang
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang(2005) Short Response Essay The narration of Kiss Kiss Bang
Bang is told through a First Person narration by Harry Lockhart, protagonist of the
movie. The narrative is categorized into three parts such as the Setup of the film, the
Conflicts and Obstacles the protagonist faces throughout, and the conclusion of the
film, also known as the Resolution. The setting begins with a flashback at a county
fair with a young Harry dressed as a magician and performing a saw trick involving a
girl. The flashback ends with the girl yelling that she wants to become an actress
before cutting into the opening. The setting then flashes forward to the 21st century,
this time, at a celebrity party in Los Angeles. Throughout the film, Harry
Fringe Within The Hippie Movement
Fringe is a trend that has been present in several decades, as early as the Native
Americans. With its rich history and it reoccurrence in several decades, there will
be more focus on fringe within the Hippie Movement. Fringe first appeared within
the Native American culture, and was used as a functional detail to allow the
garment to shed rain and dry faster, as well as for the jackets warmth and durability.
These jackets were known as buckskins and made from buckskin, which is soft suede
leather from the hide of deer. They would occasionally decorate it with beads to make
it more pleasing to the eye, and individual. Cowboys began to wear buckskins as
well, thanks to their practicality. Cowboys would also be able to rip off a piece of

older Beat Generation called these youngsters which were trying to impersonate

Conflict Within Romeo And Juliet By William Shakespeare
Throughout Romeo and Juliet the theme of conflict is conveyed in many forms,
mostly through physical violence; reflected in the era of the Renaissance where
there was political turmoil and many European nations were at war. Shakespeare
presents the theme in other forms as well; family versus family, sacred versus
profane, parent versus child and language versus inner conflict. Conflict is a key
in the structure of the play; it is highlighted in the beginning, middle and end. As
an audience we are constantly being reminded of conflict which is reflected within
the era the play was written in. The Renaissance was the rebirth of classical
learning and was also the time when Science challenged many traditional Christian
beliefs which resulted in Catholics fighting Protestants; the Gunpowder plot and
the Spanish Armada. Shakespeare chose to dramatise conflict as it was the context
in which he was writing plays. It is therefore arguable that this period was
characterised by irreconcilable opposites in politics, religion and art. Nothing in
the world can exist without its opposite just as love cannot exist without hate,
violence cannot exist without peace. Struggling with your essay? We can help! We

Analysis Of Hassan Nasrallah s Speech
A discourse analysis of one of Hassan Nasrallah s speeches
Introduction
Hizbullah, a main political party in Lebanon, is affecting the social world by
promoting their ideological and political position. Although all the countries
surrounding Lebanon are facing conflicts and war, we are still taking neutrality as a
Lebanese government. However, Hizbullah are deeply involved in the conflict
happing in Syria, leading a huge military action outside the Lebanese borders.
Hizbullah s General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah has always been a highly appreciated
leader with substantial followers. His decision to support the Syrian regime affected
the internal politics of Lebanon. However, NAsrallah s political performances and his
skillful use of political ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In paragraph three, we can see that Nasrallah began congratulating the people for
the day of Liberation and praising his fighters for the great victorious achievement.
He manages to combine his charismatic leadership and the general ideological
principles to show that he is obeyed from all the people. However, he used
deligitimization to present every opponent as a supporter for terrorists and
highlights the cruel acts they have done. Nasrallah (2015) states we are not talking
about intentions. ISIL sheds blood, demolishes, kills, rapes, rake woman as
prisoners, slaughters... This strong description of actions done by the enemy
construct the difference between them in a way of blaming and accusing them of
terrorism. However, he never mentioned if what Hizbullah s fighters are doing in the
Syrian war. He tried to take his audience away from providing them information of
how fighters of Hizbullah are also killing innocent people in this war. Therefore, he
depended on the dissimulation strategy to prevent people from receiving the whole
information and made a control on the facts

In the last 100 years, Earth s average temperature has risen by 1.4В°F. The rising
global temperatures have caused changes in weather and climate. Global warming
refers to the ongoing rise in the average temperature near Earth s surface. This is
causing a climate change, which refers to any significant change (major change in
temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns) in the measures of climatelasting for an
extended period of time (several decades or longer). Due to this, it is projected that
the temperature will rise from 2 to 11.5В°F in the next hundred years (US EPA,
2014). The drivers, which are the principal causes making this occur, are very
controversial. It is debated whether a change in temperature is due to the work of...

In the summer, the amount of sunshine received in the Northern Hemisphere can
control the advance and retreat of ice sheets because of changes in Earth s orbit. This
has been the cause of ice ages in the past, when Earth has experienced long periods
of cold temperatures (NRC, 2010). The second main driver of global temperature
change is reflectivity. Changes in reflectivity affect how much energy enter Earth s
system. When the sunlight reaches Earth, it can be reflected or absorbed, and that
depends on the Earth s surface and atmosphere; light colors reflect the most sunlight,
while dark colors absorb more sunlight. Albedo, the amount of solar radiation
reflected from an object or surface, indicates the amount of sunlight reflected as a
percentage. Earth has an albedo of about 30%, which means that 70% of the
sunlight is absorbed (NRC, 2010). This is important because the sunlight absorbed
warms the land, water and atmosphere. In the past, this can be seen in the melting
of sea ice or increases in cloud cover. Aerosols are particles in the atmosphere that
affect reflectivity, which affect the amount of energy that enters Earth, ultimately
affecting global temperature change. An example of this can be seen in volcanic
eruptions. Volcanic particles that reach the upper atmosphere are able to reflect
enough sunlight back to space, which can cool the surface of Earth by a few tenths
of a degree for a few years (Hegerl, 2007). The third
Essay about Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol
Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol
In Savage Inequalities, Jonathan Kozol documents the devastating inequalities in
American schools, focusing on public education s savage inequalities between
affluent districts and poor districts. From 1988 till 1990, Kozol visited schools in
over thirty neighborhoods, including East St. Louis, the Bronx, Chicago, Harlem,
Jersey City, and San Antonio. Kozol describes horrifying conditions in these schools.
He spends a chapter on each area, and provides a description of the city and a
historical basis for the impoverished state of its school. These schools, usually in
high crime areas, lack the most basic needs. Kozol creates a scene of rooms without
heat, few supplies or text, labs with no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kozol comments that, nearly forty years after Brown vs. the Board of Education
many of are schools are still separate but no longer even remotely equal.
Kozol s main argument is that public education should be free and equal to people
of all economic classes. Kozol believes that children from poor families are cheated
out of a future by unequipped, understaffed and under funded schools in the United
State s inner cities and less affluent suburbs. The majority of these children are non
white, and living amongst poverty and crime. Kozol argues about the unfair
standards we expect these underprivileged children to rise to. Children in these
poor areas are being compared to children in affluent areas where the quality of
their education is much higher. Kozol asks how these children will succeed in today
s world if they are not given the same opportunities as affluent schools give their
children. Kozol believes that by depriving our poorer children of their basic needs
we are forcing them into lives of crime, poverty and a never ending cycle of
inequalities in education. Kozol stresses that these students must be taught that savage
inequalities do not have to exist between them and students in more affluent schools,
and that all children are entitled to an equal education.
I had many different reactions to this book. At first, I was horrified and shocked to
learn about the conditions of these poor schools. Growing

I have super powers like Superman. I have the power of wisdom and persuasion. My
powers make Super Suave as miraculous as Superman. Superman just has more

There are two main types of toxicity, acute and chronic. Acute toxicity refers to a
relatively high dose of a toxin given over a short period of time. Chronic toxicity is
a relatively low dose of a toxin given over a longer time period. Acute toxicity is
measured by the Lethal Dose 50 (LD50). LD50 is the dose of a specific substance
that kills 50% of test organisms, and it varies from substance to substance. Toxin
severity is due to intrinsic, within the body, and extrinsic, outside of the body,
factors. When determining the effect of a toxin on an organism, it is important to

The Effect of Common Bactericidal Agents on Staphylococcus Epidermidis
Introduction
Staphylococcus epidermidis is a facultative anaerobic bacterium. It is part of the
normal human flora and is found on the skin. Colonies of these bacteria can produce
a protective slime called a hydrophobic biofilm. Staphylococcus epidermidis is
usually not pathogenic unless it enters the human body. One of the most common
places for infections are hospitals where people often have weakened immune
systems, open wounds or medical devices implanted in their bodies. Staphylococcus
epidermidis can be fatal because of the protective biofilm and the bacteria s resistance
to common antibiotics makes the infection difficult to treat. This stresses the ... Show

The solutions were prepared by first creating a chemical stock solution at the
desired concentration. The first set of stock solutions was prepared with a
concentration of 10% chemical agent per volume. The stock solutions were then
added to a solution containing aqueous staphylococcus epidermidis and the new
solutions were diluted to a plated dilution of 1X10 5. The three solutions were
mechanically mixed using the vortex for approximately 10 seconds. The mixed
solutions were poured onto an agar petri dish and the solutions were distributed
evenly by using glass beads. Once the glass beads were removed the solutions were
incubated for twenty four hours. The bacteria colonies were then counted and data
was collected. The results showed that the strong oxidative solutions did not allow
for the growth of bacterial colonies where the solution containing alcohol allowed for
the growth of 264 colonies. Since there was no growth in either of the petri dishes
containing hydrogen peroxide or bleach, it could not be concluded which, if either,
chemical agent was the superior disinfectant. (See figure 1). In order to determine
which strong oxidative agent was more effective, a second trial was run. The
purpose of this second trial was to find an upper limit on the concentration where the
bacteria would grow in the presence of bleach and hydrogen peroxide. Also in this
second trial additional isopropyl alcohol solutions were prepared in an attempt to find
a concentration
Reflection Of The Movie Remember The Titans
The movie I selected was Remember The Titans (2000). The movie was about
leadership, teamwork, and overcoming obstacles. Remember The Titans took place
in Alexandria, Virginia Where one high school became integrated with blacks and
whites forming T.C. Williams High school. The football team at the school for the
first time had blacks and whites doing the same sport together. The school board
fired Coach Yoast from being head coach and hired a new head coach named
Coach Boone who was African American. This led to problems with white families
since they did not want a black coaching their kids and it caused problems for
Coach Boone. However, after an incident with the white football players Coach
Boone compromised with Coach Yoast allowing him to be the defensive
coordinator in hopes of creating some peace in the tense time. As the summer
came to an end football camp began. At football camp the audiences experiences
the problems the black football players had with chemistry because of racism and
hatred from their white teammates. However in the end of camp the team became
brothers and does not see a person by their skin but what s on the inside. The boys
were ready for football yet when they started school the Titans had to face the
hardships of school and realize not everyone at school was as optimistic as they
were which lead to more turmoil inside the team due to racism. Thankfully as time
went on their bond grew and the team went on to become undefeated as well as win
the state championship. The main characters in Remember The Titans were Coach
Boone, Coach Yoast, Gerry Bertier, and Julius Campbell. Coach Boone was the head
coach for the Titans, Coach Yoast was the ex head coach and was the defensive
coordinator for the Titans, Gerry Bertier was the All American on the team and was
the main white football player throughout the movie, and Julius Campbell was the
main black football player on the Titans. All of these characters showed leadership
throughout the movie. Coach Boone showed his leadership by forcing others to do
what he wants no matter the cost. Multiple times throughout the movie the audience
watches Coach Boone ordering players to run, redo a play, burpees and other
commands. Coach
How Does Proton Pump Acid Affects The Body
Nutrition and lifestyle can change the body s response to drugs; conversely, a nutrient
drug interaction also affects the nutritional content in the body. Drugs may also

Police Foils
The police are often characterized as foils when compared to detectives due to their
analytical thinking that requires logical reasonings in order to solve a mystery, and a
lack of creative thinking that detectives use to place themselves in the mind of the
criminal. As well, detectives will often solve a mystery that otherwise
discombobulates the police. In Edgar Allan Poe s The Murders in the Rue Morgue
and The Purloined Letter, It is evident that the inability for the police to solve a case
efficiently through their lack of creative thinking and a scarcity of analytical thinking
highlights Dupin s superiority in solving crimes more effectively than the police. In

The Digital Conversion in Television Essay
The Digital Conversion in Television
Introduction
Television is now in the process of converting from analog to digital technology. The
significance of this change is greater than the introduction of color TV in the 1960 s,
but more complicated since conversion will require new equipment for all consumers.
Unlike color TV, digital television(DTV) uses a new kind of signal that does not fit
within the structure of the old signal. DTV refers to a specific standard being
implemented in the United States to carry a television signal in digital form through
all stages of its transmission, not just for digital equipment such as video tape
recorders and satellite receivers that have already been used in conjunction with
analog ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
HDTV has a specification called 1080i, which is so named because it has 1,080
horizontal lines of resolution transmitted in an interlaced manner, which means that
when the lines of each frame of the video are sent, only the even numbered lines are
sent for one frame, then only the odd numbered lines of the next frame. Another
HDTV format is 720p, which has 720 horizontal lines, but all lines are progressively
sent for each frame. One SDTV format is 480p (480 progressive horizontal lines).
A DTV signal can carry five channels of digital audio at the level of quality used by
compact discs. This accommodates the demand for high quality, movie theater style
sound. In the realm of analog television, this level of sound quality can only come
from recordings, digital satellite transmissions, or digital cable signals, not over the
air from a local TV station (Churchill).
An example of DTV s extra function and flexibility is the system called Program and
System Information Protocol (PSIP), a data service that allows TV users to view
schedules and read descriptions of programs transmitted through cable or on the air.
This is one standard that the National Cable Television Association and the Consumer
Electronics Association agreed on; it is probable that cable operators and television
stations may devise numerous ancillary data services related to entertainment or
Atonement Comparative Essay
To what extent are the protagonists of Atonement and The Girl Who Would Speak for
the Dead similar and different?
In times of struggle, people can be in quite different situations but still come to
similar conclusions. Authors Ian McEwan and Paul Elwork, push their protagonists
to extremes in their stories but come to a similar conclusion: that to move on in their
lives they need to find forgiveness. Briony Tallis in Ian McEwans novel Atonement
leads her family through a long period of denial due to a life ruining lie she
created. Years after the event Briony is still trying to fix her mistakes as she finds
she cannot live in a world without reparation. Similarly, Emily Stewart in Paul

McEwan s protagonist Briony needs redemption to find her way back to a normal

difference in protagonist personalities may have played a role in how they find

Briony Tallis tells of how she never really got her redemption. She recounts the real
story of how Cecilia and Robbie never forgave her for her mistake as they both
died before she could tell them the truth. Briony s powerful guilt refined the
methods of self torture . She could never really forgive herself (Atonement, page

Stewart s lies tragically lead to the death of a friend, it ultimately leads to her
forgiveness from the rest of her community. Emily Stewart is a kind hearted girl who
is strongly moralistic whereas Briony can simply not live her life without forgiveness
but attempts atonement in her decision to work as a nurse and care for
The Role Of Feudalism In Canadian Law
Feudalism is a historical social construct where the King awarded parcels of land to
the nobleman who contributed to the military (Ex, train knights, fight). As a result,
each nobleman controlled their land accordingly to the animals and peasants/vassals
(farmers) they were in charge of. However due to the absence of an organized law
system, each nobleman held different judgments so inconsistency in penalties and
sentences were prevalent. It was later brought to the King s attention to the unfair
and sometimes cruel treatments citizens endured from their nobleman and also
realized that since the King didn t deal with every law case anymore, they no longer
agreed to the monarch system. This is modernly known as the Magna Carta.
Feudalism was vital in shaping Canadian laws as no one is above the law today and
citizens legally must be treated equally. Noticeably, military has always been relevant

much power to do anything. Today, feudalism has evolved to capitalismas private
owners control their business for individual profit, individuals can hire their own
employees and social hierarchy is still relevant to our generation. Nonetheless, our
law system today learned from the mistakes of feudalism to enforce laws
preventing unjust actions from surfacing. This is evident where the rules of law

Additionally, employment laws are also established to restrain unfair/unsafe labour.
To end, a variety of Canada s laws reflect on feudalism and differentiates us from

The On Liberty And The Pursuit Of Happiness
In the United States, we really put an emphasis on liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. It is one of our founding principles; however, in some areas, we seem to
want to limit that. For example, in our education system, our society has been
arguing for quite some time about whether or not there should be options or whether
everyone should be required to attend the standard brick and mortar public schools.
While those schools serve a critical purpose in our society, that does not mean that
other types of schools are worthless. Because we are all different, we need to value
and provide options in our education.
Not every person learns in the same way. Our brains process things differently, and
our personalities can be vastly different. Trying to make every student conform to
the same way of learning is like trying to fit a circle in a square peg; it does not
work. According to the National Science Teachers Association, Students actually
learn best through various styles: personal meaning, conceptual learning, how
things work, and self discovery. The article goes on to say that those who learn by
personal meaning process things well using discussion, while those who learn best
by conceptual learning are more solitary. As you can see, the former would
probably do well in group learning; however, the latter may benefit from being at
home or in a solitary environment. Some kids might like to learn with hands on
learning while others like to learn from books.
The Skinner s Theory Of Self Awareness, And Moral...
B.F Skinner was one of the most intelligence physiologist and a man who borderline
on frightening traits for a physiologist when it came to creating learning theories,
due to his cruelty towards his experiments and the way he view society structured.
Learning theories can be viewed as mental concepts informing human beings or
society, how information is gathered, processed, and how individuals retained it
during learning concepts. Skinner created concepts such as conditioned behavior,
positive reinforcement, and punishments for children who behavior was viewed as
menacing. This term is known as time out for children today, their own version of
the Pandora box if parents choose that path. Moreover, as a radical psychologist
among his fellow peers in their field, Skinner departs from certain beliefs that
challenge the notions of self awareness and moral autonomy of the individual. These
particular main philosophies of science are known as dignity and free will. Skinner
main cogent contribution to psychologywas his theory that the consequences we
suffer in our human lives, are directly tied to our behavior along with our
environment. As a behaviorismwho supports deterministic behaviorism, Skinner
view free will as unrealistic theory. To illustrate, individuals can make their own
ideals or choices, whether to act on their desires by going against the law or not.
That does not apply to medically insane or young individuals such as infants or
children who have come to

Essay about Analysis of Greenleaf by Flannery
O’Connor
The short story Greenleaf by Flannery O Connor tells of Mrs. May, an old, bitter,
and selfish woman. She thinks badly of everyone around her, including her own
two sons. It also compares her family to that of the Greenleaf family, who Mrs.
May sees as inferior to her. O Connor unveils the story of Mrs. May and her demise
through the use of point of view, character, and symbolism. She uses the third
person omniscient view to give the reader a sense of Mrs. May s character, and the
symbols of the bull, and the conflict between the bull and Mrs. May to show Mrs.
May s destruction as well as give the story a deeper meaning of God s grace. O

O Connor also focuses on contrasting characters in her story to bring the plot along,
for example the conflict in the story is between Mrs. May and Mr. Greenleaf, two
almost completely opposite characters. Mrs. May is shown as a bitter character
who blames others for her problems, although most are self inflicted. Such as how
she hired Mr. Greenleaf for fifteen years although she obviously hates him, or how
she ends up raising bitter and cruel sons who treat her with no respect. On the other
hand the Greenleaf s is simple, although uneducated, but manages to raise two
successful sons, unlike Mrs. May s. However, Mrs. May looks down on Mr.
Greenleaf because she feels he is inferior to her in social standing and intelligence.
. For example when she went to O.T. and E.T. s farm and saw their milking parlor,
she decided automatically that they were paid for the Government and the boys
didn t work for it. Mrs. May says how I would have to do it myself. I am not
assisted hand and foot by the Government. This illustrates how Mrs. May still thinks
less of the Greenleafs, even if they have a better farm then her because she thinks
they did not gain it themselves, that it was instead paid for by the Government. The
Greenleaf boys have a better working farm then her, and therefore are a little higher

What Is The Narrative Techniques Used In Northanger

Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey is a bildungsroman, a coming of age story that
focuses on the psychological development, and maturity of the protagonist Catherine
Morland. This essay will analyse the language, and narrative techniques of the set
extract, and discuss how this excerpt suggests vicissitude in Catherine s priorities,
within her role as Austen s female bildungsroman. In addition, it will discuss the
domestic gothic and real life abuse that prevails in ordinary situations. Furthermore, it
will argue how Austen s rhetorical techniques work to encourage reader interest, and
to exercise perception, when distinguishing between appearance, and reality. Finally,
it will conclude by briefly discussing the significance of the extract within... Show

Duality In 19th Century Russia
Just to the east of riotous, industrialising Western Europe sat Imperial Russia, pendent
between tradition and modernity, a vast empire of duality. As if trying to vent her
frustrations, 19th century Russia produced a selection of history s finest writers; each
writer packing their work with themes of duplicity, hope, and heavy social criticism.
Duality was the cardinal theme for Imperial Russia. 19th century Russia was a
peasant filled, agrarian empire rushed through the gawky adolescence of
industrialisation. The serfs were only freed in 1861, and by 1900 around 2.3
million Russians worked inside factories: in a century, Russia had moved from a
feudal system of serfdom to the shores of modernity. A theme of duplicity was carried

Gender Differences In Early Adulthood
Human female breast provides essential neonates nutrition and immunity in milk
form. The breast begins to develop during fetal development but the major
developmental stages occur after birth i.e. during puberty, pregnancy, lactation and
involution. Till puberty, the breast is indistinguishable amongst male and female and
grows in a similar beat as the rest of the body.
The adult breast is a special sort of apocrine gland and is often described as a
modified sweat gland that produces milk. During puberty, the hormonal status
drastically changes mainly because of the oestrogen impact. Breasts are made up of a
branching system of lobules (milk producing glands) and milk ducts (tiny tubes that
transmit the milk from the lobules to the nipple) surrounded by stroma including
fibroblasts, immune cells, adipose tissue, and extracellular matrix (ECM) and overlay
the pectoralis major muscle.

Analysis Of The Movie The Heart Of The Sea
December is usually a time of celebration where most people enjoy the holidays
loved ones. Unlike every other year, this season will include a blockbuster film that
is loosely based off the classic tale, Moby Dick. However, the trailers for In the
Heart of the Sea, directed by Ron Howard, are based of a book version with the same
title. The abstract idea of this movie sounds phenomenal, but the when it comes to the
teaser trailerthat is supposed to be about a giant whale, it did not seem to make a
splash. The movie is not slated to be released until December 11, 2015, but it is
clear to see that the teaser trailer has given the movie a negative vibe. Luckily, the
official trailer was released about a month later, and it has revived the filmthrough the
extremely well crafted usage of plot details, appropriate music, and dialogue.
Ron Howard started his career as a child actor on the classic television shows. Soon
later he began breaking the barrier into movies, and Howard convinced Roger
Corman, a producer, to help him direct Howard s film project. Three years later,
Howard evolved into a well established movie director. Mr. Howard has now
directed many movies that have resulted in success. For example, he is the genius
behind the movie, Apollo 13 (Ron Howard Biography). The award winning director s
latest project has had a difficult beginning, but is now steadily evolving into a great
film thanks to the official trailer.

Improving Your Low Self Esteem
IMPROVING YOUR LOW SELF ESTEEM
INTRODUCTION: In the course of our life, we might have encountered a
situation whereby we think of other people as been better than us. At times you
may look at some successful people, and see them as perfect, being lucky and more
gifted and hope you could trade places with them. On the other hand, these people
also look at you and think of you as someone who is free, without many problems.
You feel insecure of people and they likewise feel the same thing of you. At that
moment, what you are experiencing is lack of self confidence and low self esteem.
SELF ESTEEM AND LOW SELF ESTEEM
Self Esteem can be described as a mental state that depends on a person s personal
assessment of his or her worth. The concept deals with an individuals perception on
whether or not they are worthy of praise or merit. In short, your self esteem describes
the measure with which you like yourself.
Low self esteem is a phrase we usually used to describe individuals who fails to
think highly of themselves. People with low self esteem possess a low assessment
of their own self worth. They never feel good regarding who they are and what
they are. This has the possibility to create any number of problems for the person
that is experiencing the condition. In a simple way, low self esteem can as well be
described as feeling down about yourself.

This essay is going to demonstrate an understanding of Robert Merton s strain theory,
the advantages of the Strain theory and also the disadvantages of the theory.
Robert Merton (1910) best known for developing theories of deviance. Robert
Merton is considered to be one of the most influential social scientists. Merton s
work is highly influenced by the work of Emile Durkheim who was a French
Sociologist whose work was mostly based on social order, and how society remains

Durkheim imagined society as an organism, where each component plays an
essential part in the solidity of society, but none of the components have the
strength to function alone, and if one experiences a break down or a crisis,
eventually the other parts will fail. According to Durkheim, society is built on
people that have common values and a collective conscience. However, when there
are periods of great social change or stress, our collective conscience eventually
becomes weakened. People then begin to look after their own interests rather than
obeying the values of society, and eventually people may begin to lose a sense of
self, and feel like they don t have a sense of belonging in society. Durkheim calls this
situation anomie. When our collective conscience has collapsed, anomie occurs
which increases the rates of crime. Durkheim s concepts of anomie was later
developed and adapted by the works of Robert Merton. Who said that Durkheim s
theories on anomie were far too vague.
Merton argued that anomie was a situation where the goals that are approved by
society are not available to a significant proportion of the population. Merton argues
that people involve themselves in deviant acts when they cannot achieve socially
approved goals by genuine means. In result of this, deviance is a result of the strain
an individual feel when they cannot achieve the socially approved goals legitimately.
Merton related these ideas to the American dream. The

What triggers a person to commit murder?
Murder, with the word by itself it has such power. We have over 150 people getting
killed annually because of murders, but why? How is it possible for someone to
have the heart to murder someone without any moral guilt? What is their motive?
There are people out there who just think murderers are completely insane, but in
my opinion there has to be much more for someone to just forget the value of
human life. My claim is that there is a deeper understanding in murderers, but there
are many people who are completely against that. Yes, I believe there are people
who are psychology insane but there are some people who are made into murderers.

We spoke about how child abuse and neglect can turn someone into different types

enemy soldier. The idea being who will feel remorse in the end? Of course, more
people felt guilt for killing an innocent citizen rather than the enemy soldier. Now
with this test, try to put together a murder killing their first person without feeling

murderers saying they do not feel guilty for their actions; they must ve have a life

that nobody is born purely evil, there has to be an event that allows them to have a

Norman Rabkin
Critics often divide into opposite teams when talking about Shakespeare s last
plays. Each of the last plays is concerned with the development of a world that can
be interpreted just as we interpret the world of any earlier play. In any
Shakespearean world, character and destiny are aspects of a cosmos whose laws
control the action of the play, and out illusion is that we are participating in a life
that has its own full and peculiar integrity (Rabkin 118). We begin to recognize that
the nature and man s nature are the same. Modern critics has emphasized the self
reflexive signals in the romances; in doing so, they interpret the plays to be about
play making. Many critics are led to the idea that the romances can be considered
autobiographical or as reflections on the idea of the play. Others ignore this and
analyze the plays illusory worlds in the dramatic terms they demand. Both... Show

Many of the resources that Rabkin used in the book were also familiar to me from
reading them in this course. There were also many sources that he used that I was
unfamiliar with, but most of the time Rabkin was still able to get his point across
by using text straight from the plays and summarizing plots. This book was very
informative in figuring out some of Shakespeare s plays, as well as life in general.
Life, like Shakespeare s plays, is not easily summed up in one single sentence, but
can be experienced, expressed, and recognized. Life, like Shakespeare s plays,
progresses through stages. Though we cannot say for certain exactly what
Shakespeare was thinking, we can guess, through deep interpretation, what he may
have been trying to convey. As Shakespeare progressed through his career, his plays
matured and gathered new meaning; by the end, Shakespeare recognized a world
that was beyond even what he was capable of
The Theory Of Leadership And Leadership
Introduction to the Topic Organizations of any nature will not subsist without some
level of leadership. This paper discusses the nature of leadership, which depends on
the effectiveness of a leader; the specific personality characteristics, physical, and
social traits that set leaders apart from followers; and the characteristic of a servant

implementing the concepts within the organization.
Group Consensus
TheNature of Leadership Leadership is in an echelon above management in that there
is almost an aura about a leader that compels followers to want the same things
they want, as opposed to managers which get their followers to do what they want
(Marker, 2010). Therefore, managers tend to utilize power, whereas leaders can be
influential. Good leaders also have a vision both a company vision and a personal
vision, in which is instilled into followers. An effective leader will also have an
understanding of ethical issues, who and what ethical decisions affect, and how

Analysis of the European Union’s Role as a Model...
Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) are defined by Kegley (2009) as institutions
created and joined by states governments, which give them authority to make
collective decisions to manage particular problems on the global agenda (p. 163).
The purpose of IGOs is to solve shared problems on the basis of involving states
interests. In other words, states utilize community of interest to balance the
international situation between neighborhoods. According to Kegley (2009), a global
trend in world politics is the spectacular growth of IGOs. The European Union, as an
example of IGOs, is the globe s best success story among the other regional IGOs
playing global roles (Kegley, 2009).

According to Guiso and his partners (2004), the financial integration should increase

Many researches and studies revealed that Bufo toxin exhibits medicinal properties.
Past researches states that bufo toxin exhibits cardiotonic and anti arrhythmic activity
and other heart diseses (Clarke, 1997). It shows a beneficial effect on congestive
heart failure models in rabbits due to its cardiotonic property. Many insulinotropic
peptides have been isolated from different toad and frog skins. Insulin releasing
peptides (peaks 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) purified by reverse phase HPLC from skin
secretion of the toad. The result shows that it significantly increases the insulin
release by glucose responsive BRIN BD11 cells compared to glucose alone. This
proves that bufo toxin exhibits antidiabetic activity. Another study verifies that it has
immunomodulatory activity because the bufo toxin have the ability of activating the
proliferation of lymphocyte, specifically it increases the IL 2 and IL 12 level in the
supernatant of spleen cell culture. Aside from that, it increases the natural killer
activity of C3H/HeN mice. Frog skin secretions conatin certain compounds having

Andrew Carnegie Biography Essay
Andrew Carnegie, born November 25, 1835 in Dunfermline, Scotland, was the
owner of Carnegie Steel Corporation; one of the biggest of its kind in the world.
Carnegie moved to the United States at the age of twelve with his parents after his
father, a handloom weaver, was gradually replaced with power looms. Carnegie
was from a poor family and could not afford an education, but he always had access
to books and through reading was able to educate himself, at least a little. Once in
America he worked in one of the many factories in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, making
$1.20 a week. After that he managed to find a job as a telegraph messenger. He
taught himself how to send the telegraph messages and eventually became a
telegraph operator at the age of seventeen. Through his life he learned two different
things from his parents. His father believed in helping the less fortunate, from his
mother he learned to put himself before anyone else.... Show more content on

He also bought stock in an oil company, and a company that made railroad sleeping
cars. In 1865 he left the railroad company to start his business. By 1872 Carnegie
was traveling to sell bonds to European investors, and in this time he realized that
steel would increase in demand in the coming years and decided to enter into the
steel industry. With his partners, their steel mill became the most modern of its
time. In 1873 to 1879 though there was a business recession in U.S. By 1880
Carnegie managed to keep his business aloft and it once again thrived as steel came
into demand. His steel company earned millions in revenue. By 1892 he combined
three of his companies and created the Carnegie Steel Company. His salesmanship,
talented management team, and willingness to take risks while everyone else was
playing it safe are what allowed him to expand and prosper so greatly in his business.

Ferula And Clara In The House Of The Spirits
Love can come in many forms. The love between significant others, families, and
friends are most often the love that comes to mind when we think of affection and
the act of caring for others. Throughout The House of the Spirits , many types of
love are displayed, but one that stands out as peculiar or odd among the rest is the love
Ferula feels for Clara. Ferula displays a passion for looking after and generally
being near Clara. This devotion to her sister in law is far from average, as Ferula
feels almost jealous of Esteban, Clara s husband, and longs to be the only person
that Clara can depend upon. Ferula had come to love Clara with a jealous passion
that resembled that of a demanding husband more than it did that of a sister in law.

Jesus As the Son of God Essay
Jesus As the Son of God
When Jesus rose from the dead the disciples realized that they needed new ways of
describing him to reflect his amazing power and holiness. They scoured the
Hebrew and Jewish scriptures looking for something appropriate to call him by
and came up with titles such as Messiah , Son of Man , Son of David and Son of
God . In the end Son of God became the most popular of these titles so that is what
he became best known as. It is therefore the subject of my coursework.
What Does It Mean When Christians Talk About JesusAs Son of God

relationship with God. However, Mark was also much ... Show more content on

Mark certainly brings together the ideas of God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and
the Holy Spirit in the story of Jesus Baptism.
Son of God can be interpreted in three different ways. It can mean the king; in
many ancient Mediterranean societies, kings were thought to be descended from
Gods E.g. Pharaohs, Romulus and Remus and Greek heroes. Secondly all Jews were
Sons of God because they are beloved of God . Finally it can literally mean God s
son which means that only Jesus is the Son of God.
Fundamentalists literally believe Jesus is the Son of God and therefore he is God,
the second person in the Trinity. They have a literal interpretation of everything
Jesus said in the bible, therefore it affects the way they live their lives. If they
believe Jesus is God they will pray to him as God and worship him as God.
Fundamentalists believe that Jesus teaching is always right and non negotiable
because Jesus word is God s word and God is never wrong. On divorce for instance
Jesus says: No human being must separate what God has joined together (Mark
10:9) The vast majority of people nowadays believe that divorce is acceptable if the
couple are unhappy. Fundamentalists, however, believe that divorce is never
acceptable under any circumstances because Jesus said so and he is always right.
Liberals believe that Jesus is the Son of God by adoption and
Why Is Graham Hess Is The End Of The World Essay
Graham Hess is a protagonist character from the movie Signs (2002), who is a
retired priest that lives on a farm in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Graham has been
left with the duties of taking care of his children after the death of his wife in an
automobile accident. In the movie, Graham and the rest of his family are hiding
and protecting themselves from the suspicious nearby lights from the invading
aliens. In this scene, Graham and Merrill converse until a very important but
seemingly unanswerable question arises. The question being if Graham believes
this, the alien attack, is the end of the world. This followed by Graham giving a
short monologue in which he asks Merrill, Are you the kind of person who sees
signs and sees miracles? This question pertains to the various beliefs of many
individuals about whether there is an overlooking figure, possibly God, that is
responsible for all actions. It is a very relevant and important question if you
consider the fact that it so closely relates to our curriculum in PH 231 C, The
Introduction to the Philosophy of Knowledge. Over the course of the semester, we
learned and discussed about many people and their corresponding beliefs; some of
which included the concept of God and his possible existence. Prior to this semester,
I think I would have considered myself to fall under one of Graham Hess categories,
one that I do not consider myself to be in now. This course and the curriculum
managed to change my outlook;
Legal Forms of Business
Legal Forms of Business: Week 2
Legal Forms of Business In business, the first decision that is made is usually the
most difficult. When making business decisions, the owner must decide what
types of business organization is the best for the company. There are seven forms
of business that will be discussed as well as scenarios in which each of these forms
of business would be the preferred form. This paper will also justify why the
corresponding business form is preferred. The forms that will be discussed are: sole
proprietorship, partner, limited liability partnership, Limited Liability Company, S
corporation, franchise, and corporate form. Sole Proprietorship A Sole Proprietor is

S corporation status provides many of the benefits of partnership taxation and at
the same time gives the owners limited liability protection from creditors. Scenario:
A company that is taxed as a corporation, has more than 100 shareholders, and has
one class of stock, classifies the company as an S Corporation. Franchise A
franchise is a right granted to an individual or group to market a company s goods
or services within a certain territory or location. There are companies that fall up
under the franchise umbrella such as McDonald s, Subway, and Pizza Hut. Many
people think of restaurants or fast food businesses when they think of franchise.
There are over 120 different types of franchise that consist of automotive, health
and fitness, financial services, and cleaning and maintenance, just to name a few.
Scenario: A person is interested in starting a business and would like to own a
Taco Bell. The best form to use is the franchise. This would require the owner to
buy into the franchise. Corporate The Corporation form is used to solve the
typical problems of the partnership. Incorporating allows a group of owners to act
as one. This is similar to the way a partnership is operated as well. Since a
corporation is a separate legal entity capable of being sued, it can protect its owners
by absorbing the liability if something goes wrong. In a corporation, the owner is

Qaeda and Taliban targets. Pilots housed in various bases in the U.S. and abroad

devices 15,000 feet above ground for a maximum duration of 20 hours before

Thus, any conflict that predominantly involves unmanned machines like drones
versus real human lives should be viewed as unfair. Perhaps the idea of fairness does
not belong in the conversation on the way warfare should be conducted. Bowen
mentions that anyone who experiences combat would rightfully agree that they
would not want a fair fight (Bowden, 2013). The idea of not wanting a fair fight does
have merit if you assume that a fair fight will result in a greater amount of destruction
and a higher death toll. Therefore, a supreme technological advantage will shorten the
duration of the conflict and will minimize the aggregate losses. Some could argue that
adhering to these unofficial principles of fairness should no longer be necessary once
the enemy begins to practice warfare in unconventional ways. This would suggest
that using drones against organizations that target noncombatants civilians rather than
combatants is justifiable. Using drones in this case is justifiable because the
fundamental concept of jus in bello which outlines that noncombatants are to be
protected from war efforts in traditional Just War Theory is being violated by
terrorist organizations (French, 2017). The overall growth in the size of Middle
Eastern terrorist organizations since the first strike in 2002 is an indicator of the
negative impact drone attacks have had on the stability of the region. In fact,
The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock, By T. S. Eliot
In The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock , T.S. Eliot explores the complex of
paralysis through his main character, Alfred Prufrock. Prufrock battles with his
internal self with not being able to act on his impulses. His paralysis comes from
the inability to connect with women on an emotional level, making the title of the
poem ironic. Alfred Prufrock s song isn t of love, it is actually his failure to love.
Throughout the poem, Prufrock seems anxious. He tells the reader that There will be
time, there will be time, (Eliot 26). Alfred is telling the reader about a potential date
with a woman. He is nervous because he doesn t want this woman to see his
imperfections. As time goes on, he becomes more nervous about his physical
attributes. He doesn t want to make a fool of himself and is so concerned with his
actions and appearances that he is hesitant about eating a peach in front of the woman.

Hp Is A Consumer Electronics Company
Hewlett Packard more commonly known as HP is a consumer electronics company.
Since their humble beginnings they have had a focus on inventive thinking and

Shortly after starting his job at General electric Dave Packard took a leave of

his time as a student.
The Idea that would start not only HP but all of Silicon Valleywas the subject of Bill
Hewlett s thesis subject at Stanford. Bill envisioned an audio oscillator that would
be cheaper to make, easier to operate, more accurate, and more portable than what
was available at the time. The key to this new oscillator was a small light bulb. By
glowing brighter or dimmer the light bulb could stabilize the signal strength,
cancelling unwanted variations. This gave Bill s design a great advantage over
other companies. After more experimentation and testing Bill and Dave were able
to take the thesis project and make HP s first product, the 200A Oscillator. The
name was chosen to make it appear that they had designed other similar devices
and that this was not the company s first product. The first major buyer to benefit
from Bill s new design was Walt Disney. Before their purchase Disney requested
some design changes which lead to the 200B oscillator. Disney needed a new kind of
audio oscillator to get movie theaters ready for the upcoming release of their new
movie fantasia. Due to the musical nature of the movie,

The military regime that took charge in March 1976 was controlled by a three man

mentality of Argentines through control of education, media and culture. [3] General

  • 7. Conflict Within Romeo And Juliet By William Shakespeare Throughout Romeo and Juliet the theme of conflict is conveyed in many forms, mostly through physical violence; reflected in the era of the Renaissance where there was political turmoil and many European nations were at war. Shakespeare presents the theme in other forms as well; family versus family, sacred versus profane, parent versus child and language versus inner conflict. Conflict is a key in the structure of the play; it is highlighted in the beginning, middle and end. As an audience we are constantly being reminded of conflict which is reflected within the era the play was written in. The Renaissance was the rebirth of classical learning and was also the time when Science challenged many traditional Christian beliefs which resulted in Catholics fighting Protestants; the Gunpowder plot and the Spanish Armada. Shakespeare chose to dramatise conflict as it was the context in which he was writing plays. It is therefore arguable that this period was characterised by irreconcilable opposites in politics, religion and art. Nothing in the world can exist without its opposite just as love cannot exist without hate, violence cannot exist without peace. Struggling with your essay? We can help! Although all the countries surrounding Lebanon are facing conflicts and war, we are still taking neutrality as a Lebanese government. However, Hizbullah are deeply involved in the conflict happing in Syria, leading a huge military action outside the Lebanese borders. The rising global temperatures have caused changes in weather and climate. Global warming refers to the ongoing rise in the average temperature near Earth s surface. This is causing a climate change, which refers to any significant change (major change in temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns) in the measures of climatelasting for an extended period of time (several decades or longer). Due to this, it is projected that the temperature will rise from 2 to 11.5В°F in the next hundred years (US EPA, 2014). The drivers, which are the principal causes making this occur, are very controversial. It is debated whether a change in temperature is due to the work of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the summer, the amount of sunshine received in the Northern Hemisphere can control the advance and retreat of ice sheets because of changes in Earth s orbit. This has been the cause of ice ages in the past, when Earth has experienced long periods of cold temperatures (NRC, 2010). The second main driver of global temperature change is reflectivity. Changes in reflectivity affect how much energy enter Earth s system. When the sunlight reaches Earth, it can be reflected or absorbed, and that depends on the Earth s surface and atmosphere; light colors reflect the most sunlight, while dark colors absorb more sunlight. Albedo, the amount of solar radiation reflected from an object or surface, indicates the amount of sunlight reflected as a percentage. Earth has an albedo of about 30%, which means that 70% of the sunlight is absorbed (NRC, 2010). This is important because the sunlight absorbed warms the land, water and atmosphere. In the past, this can be seen in the melting of sea ice or increases in cloud cover. Aerosols are particles in the atmosphere that affect reflectivity, which affect the amount of energy that enters Earth, ultimately affecting global temperature change. An example of this can be seen in volcanic eruptions. Volcanic particles that reach the upper atmosphere are able to reflect enough sunlight back to space, which can cool the surface of Earth by a few tenths of a degree for a few years (Hegerl, 2007). Essay about Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol In Savage Inequalities, Jonathan Kozol documents the devastating inequalities in American schools, focusing on public education s savage inequalities between affluent districts and poor districts. From 1988 till 1990, Kozol visited schools in over thirty neighborhoods, including East St. Louis, the Bronx, Chicago, Harlem, Jersey City, and San Antonio. Kozol describes horrifying conditions in these schools. He spends a chapter on each area, and provides a description of the city and a historical basis for the impoverished state of its school. Kozol comments that, nearly forty years after Brown vs. the Board of Education many of are schools are still separate but no longer even remotely equal. Kozol s main argument is that public education should be free and equal to people of all economic classes. Kozol believes that children from poor families are cheated out of a future by unequipped, understaffed and under funded schools in the United State s inner cities and less affluent suburbs. The majority of these children are non white, and living amongst poverty and crime. Kozol argues about the unfair standards we expect these underprivileged children to rise to. Children in these poor areas are being compared to children in affluent areas where the quality of their education is much higher. Kozol asks how these children will succeed in today s world if they are not given the same opportunities as affluent schools give their children. Kozol believes that by depriving our poorer children of their basic needs we are forcing them into lives of crime, poverty and a never ending cycle of inequalities in education. Kozol stresses that these students must be taught that savage inequalities do not have to exist between them and students in more affluent schools, and that all children are entitled to an equal education. I had many different reactions to this book. At first, I was horrified and shocked to learn about the conditions of these poor schools. Growing

The three solutions were mechanically mixed using the vortex for approximately 10 seconds. The mixed solutions were poured onto an agar petri dish and the solutions were distributed evenly by using glass beads. Once the glass beads were removed the solutions were incubated for twenty four hours. The bacteria colonies were then counted and data was collected. Remember The Titans took place in Alexandria, Virginia Where one high school became integrated with blacks and whites forming T.C. Williams High school. The football team at the school for the first time had blacks and whites doing the same sport together. The school board fired Coach Yoast from being head coach and hired a new head coach named Coach Boone who was African American. This led to problems with white families since they did not want a black coaching their kids and it caused problems for Coach Boone. However, after an incident with the white football players Coach Boone compromised with Coach Yoast allowing him to be the defensive coordinator in hopes of creating some peace in the tense time. As the summer came to an end football camp began. At football camp the audiences experiences the problems the black football players had with chemistry because of racism and hatred from their white teammates. However in the end of camp the team became brothers and does not see a person by their skin but what s on the inside. The boys were ready for football yet when they started school the Titans had to face the hardships of school and realize not everyone at school was as optimistic as they were which lead to more turmoil inside the team due to racism. Thankfully as time went on their bond grew and the team went on to become undefeated as well as win the state championship. The main characters in Remember The Titans were Coach Boone, Coach Yoast, Gerry Bertier, and Julius Campbell. Coach Boone was the head coach for the Titans, Coach Yoast was the ex head coach and was the defensive coordinator for the Titans, Gerry Bertier was the All American on the team and was the main white football player throughout the movie, and Julius Campbell was the main black football player on the Titans. All of these characters showed leadership throughout the movie. Coach Boone showed his leadership by forcing others to do what he wants no matter the cost. Multiple times throughout the movie the audience watches Coach Boone ordering players to run, redo a play, burpees and other commands. Coach

The significance of this change is greater than the introduction of color TV in the 1960 s, but more complicated since conversion will require new equipment for all consumers. Unlike color TV, digital television(DTV) uses a new kind of signal that does not fit within the structure of the old signal. Another HDTV format is 720p, which has 720 horizontal lines, but all lines are progressively sent for each frame. One SDTV format is 480p (480 progressive horizontal lines). A DTV signal can carry five channels of digital audio at the level of quality used by compact discs. This accommodates the demand for high quality, movie theater style sound. In the realm of analog television, this level of sound quality can only come from recordings, digital satellite transmissions, or digital cable signals, not over the air from a local TV station (Churchill). An example of DTV s extra function and flexibility is the system called Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP), a data service that allows TV users to view schedules and read descriptions of programs transmitted through cable or on the air. This is one standard that the National Cable Television Association and the Consumer Electronics Association agreed on; it is probable that cable operators and television stations may devise numerous ancillary data services related to entertainment or

It is one of our founding principles; however, in some areas, we seem to want to limit that. For example, in our education system, our society has been arguing for quite some time about whether or not there should be options or whether everyone should be required to attend the standard brick and mortar public schools. While those schools serve a critical purpose in our society, that does not mean that other types of schools are worthless. Because we are all different, we need to value and provide options in our education. Not every person learns in the same way. Our brains process things differently, and our personalities can be vastly different. Trying to make every student conform to the same way of learning is like trying to fit a circle in a square peg; it does not work. According to the National Science Teachers Association, Students actually learn best through various styles: personal meaning, conceptual learning, how things work, and self discovery. The article goes on to say that those who learn by personal meaning process things well using discussion, while those who learn best by conceptual learning are more solitary. As you can see, the former would probably do well in group learning; however, the latter may benefit from being at home or in a solitary environment. Some kids might like to learn with hands on learning while others like to learn from books.

  • 25. Duality In 19th Century Russia Just to the east of riotous, industrialising Western Europe sat Imperial Russia, pendent between tradition and modernity, a vast empire of duality. As if trying to vent her frustrations, 19th century Russia produced a selection of history s finest writers; each writer packing their work with themes of duplicity, hope, and heavy social criticism. Duality was the cardinal theme for Imperial Russia. 19th century Russia was a peasant filled, agrarian empire rushed through the gawky adolescence of industrialisation. The serfs were only freed in 1861, and by 1900 around 2.3 million Russians worked inside factories: in a century, Russia had moved from a feudal system of serfdom to the shores of modernity. The breast begins to develop during fetal development but the major developmental stages occur after birth i.e. during puberty, pregnancy, lactation and involution. Till puberty, the breast is indistinguishable amongst male and female and grows in a similar beat as the rest of the body. The adult breast is a special sort of apocrine gland and is often described as a modified sweat gland that produces milk. During puberty, the hormonal status drastically changes mainly because of the oestrogen impact. Breasts are made up of a branching system of lobules (milk producing glands) and milk ducts (tiny tubes that transmit the milk from the lobules to the nipple) surrounded by stroma including fibroblasts, immune cells, adipose tissue, and extracellular matrix (ECM) and overlay the pectoralis major muscle. Durkheim imagined society as an organism, where each component plays an essential part in the solidity of society, but none of the components have the strength to function alone, and if one experiences a break down or a crisis, eventually the other parts will fail. According to Durkheim, society is built on people that have common values and a collective conscience. However, when there are periods of great social change or stress, our collective conscience eventually becomes weakened. People then begin to look after their own interests rather than obeying the values of society, and eventually people may begin to lose a sense of self, and feel like they don t have a sense of belonging in society. Durkheim calls this situation anomie. When our collective conscience has collapsed, anomie occurs which increases the rates of crime. Durkheim s concepts of anomie was later developed and adapted by the works of Robert Merton. Who said that Durkheim s theories on anomie were far too vague. Merton argued that anomie was a situation where the goals that are approved by society are not available to a significant proportion of the population. Merton argues that people involve themselves in deviant acts when they cannot achieve socially approved goals by genuine means. In result of this, deviance is a result of the strain an individual feel when they cannot achieve the socially approved goals legitimately. Merton related these ideas to the American dream. The

In any Shakespearean world, character and destiny are aspects of a cosmos whose laws control the action of the play, and out illusion is that we are participating in a life that has its own full and peculiar integrity (Rabkin 118). We begin to recognize that the nature and man s nature are the same. Modern critics has emphasized the self reflexive signals in the romances; in doing so, they interpret the plays to be about play making. It also gives insight to biblical integration of the concepts and the strategies for implementing the concepts within the organization. • 47. Jesus As the Son of God Essay Jesus As the Son of God When Jesus rose from the dead the disciples realized that they needed new ways of describing him to reflect his amazing power and holiness. They scoured the Hebrew and Jewish scriptures looking for something appropriate to call him by and came up with titles such as Messiah , Son of Man , Son of David and Son of God . In the end Son of God became the most popular of these titles so that is what he became best known as. It is therefore the subject of my coursework. What Does It Mean When Christians Talk About JesusAs Son of God In the Old Testament, the words Son of God often meant someone who had a special relationship with God. However, Mark was also much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mark certainly brings together the ideas of God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and the Holy Spirit in the story of Jesus Baptism. Son of God can be interpreted in three different ways. It can mean the king; in many ancient Mediterranean societies, kings were thought to be descended from Gods E.g. Pharaohs, Romulus and Remus and Greek heroes. Secondly all Jews were Sons of God because they are beloved of God . Finally it can literally mean God s son which means that only Jesus is the Son of God. Fundamentalists literally believe Jesus is the Son of God and therefore he is God, the second person in the Trinity. They have a literal interpretation of everything Jesus said in the bible, therefore it affects the way they live their lives. If they believe Jesus is God they will pray to him as God and worship him as God. Fundamentalists believe that Jesus teaching is always right and non negotiable because Jesus word is God s word and God is never wrong. On divorce for instance Jesus says: No human being must separate what God has joined together (Mark 10:9) The vast majority of people nowadays believe that divorce is acceptable if the couple are unhappy. Fundamentalists, however, believe that divorce is never acceptable under any circumstances because Jesus said so and he is always right. Liberals believe that Jesus is the Son of God by adoption and

Graham has been left with the duties of taking care of his children after the death of his wife in an automobile accident. In the movie, Graham and the rest of his family are hiding and protecting themselves from the suspicious nearby lights from the invading aliens. In this scene, Graham and Merrill converse until a very important but seemingly unanswerable question arises. The question being if Graham believes this, the alien attack, is the end of the world. This followed by Graham giving a short monologue in which he asks Merrill, Are you the kind of person who sees signs and sees miracles? This question pertains to the various beliefs of many individuals about whether there is an overlooking figure, possibly God, that is responsible for all actions. It is a very relevant and important question if you consider the fact that it so closely relates to our curriculum in PH 231 C, The Introduction to the Philosophy of Knowledge. Over the course of the semester, we learned and discussed about many people and their corresponding beliefs; some of which included the concept of God and his possible existence. Prior to this semester, I think I would have considered myself to fall under one of Graham Hess categories, one that I do not consider myself to be in now. This course and the curriculum managed to change my outlook;

Pilots housed in various bases in the U.S. and abroad operate these drones safe distance away from dangerous areas in front of their monitors via joystick controls. Given this, using drones for surveillance purposes should... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, any conflict that predominantly involves unmanned machines like drones versus real human lives should be viewed as unfair. Perhaps the idea of fairness does not belong in the conversation on the way warfare should be conducted. Bowen mentions that anyone who experiences combat would rightfully agree that they would not want a fair fight (Bowden, 2013). The idea of not wanting a fair fight does have merit if you assume that a fair fight will result in a greater amount of destruction and a higher death toll. Therefore, a supreme technological advantage will shorten the duration of the conflict and will minimize the aggregate losses. Some could argue that adhering to these unofficial principles of fairness should no longer be necessary once the enemy begins to practice warfare in unconventional ways. This would suggest that using drones against organizations that target noncombatants civilians rather than combatants is justifiable. Using drones in this case is justifiable because the fundamental concept of jus in bello which outlines that noncombatants are to be protected from war efforts in traditional Just War Theory is being violated by terrorist organizations (French, 2017). The overall growth in the size of Middle Eastern terrorist organizations since the first strike in 2002 is an indicator of the negative impact drone attacks have had on the stability of the region. Shortly after starting his job at General electric Dave Packard took a leave of absence and moved himself and his new wife to Palo Alto California, and began working with Bill Hewlett to start their own company using an idea Bill had during his time as a student. The Idea that would start not only HP but all of Silicon Valleywas the subject of Bill Hewlett s thesis subject at Stanford. Bill envisioned an audio oscillator that would be cheaper to make, easier to operate, more accurate, and more portable than what was available at the time. The key to this new oscillator was a small light bulb. By glowing brighter or dimmer the light bulb could stabilize the signal strength, cancelling unwanted variations. This gave Bill s design a great advantage over other companies. After more experimentation and testing Bill and Dave were able to take the thesis project and make HP s first product, the 200A Oscillator. The name was chosen to make it appear that they had designed other similar devices and that this was not the company s first product. The first major buyer to benefit from Bill s new design was Walt Disney. Before their purchase Disney requested some design changes which lead to the 200B oscillator. Disney needed a new kind of audio oscillator to get movie theaters ready for the upcoming release of their new movie fantasia. Due to the musical nature of the movie,
