Analyzing a Friendship • To have a healthy relationship equal amount of effort has to be put in • Being respectful of boundaries is important • Communication IS key, communicate and be open about yourself or new things • Be equally caring about one another; physically, emotionally, mentally • A healthy relationship is built on a stable, trustworthy foundation!

Forming Healthy Relationships • A healthy relationship is built on a stable foundation of trust • Each person must put an equal amount of effort into the relationship • Accept changes and respect differences in each other • When communicating; establish, clarify and listen • Be open to new experiences and be open about yourself

Changing Unhealthy Relationships • Analyze the relationship the potentially harmful aspects • Evaluate your values and how you will deal with this conflict • Set limits and boundaries in the relationship to determine your stance • Forwardly address the situation(s) directly • Healthy communication EQUALLY between each person

5. What is Bullying? • Bullying is the desire to purposely harm someone else • The bully has a feeling of superiority to the other person in some way • Bully is repetitive and can be short term or carry out for multiple years • What can be bullying to you, may be seen as harmless or vice versa

What Does Bullying Look Like? • Bullying can be verbal, non-verbal, physical and cyber • Most incidents coincide with "climbing the social ladder" • Bullying is usually on those perceived to be more vulnerable • There are usually bystanders, the harmful or the helpful • Bully's like to be affirmed by their power position

7. Putting an End to Bullying! • Avoid escalating the situation • Don't wait for bullying to dissipate, take action when possible • Stand up & interfere for yourself or others, DON'T be a bystander • Bullying is learnt through social experience • - So teach youth acceptance and good behavior

Bullying in my School • Bullying is rarely an issue in my school • It's a small class, so there is a lot of communication • There are small, reoccurring, conflicts • The wide variety of grades, do result in different social experiences • With different social experiences, we may act differently to a situation

9. What Causes bullying? • Bullies can be previous victims • People need to be reaffirmed of their power position • Some people use bullying as a way to attain a higher social status •

10. Solutions to Bullying! • Teach the causes of bullying • Teach the long and short term effects of bullying • Also teach assertiveness and give support when these situations occur

Is Bullying a Problem in my School? • I don't believe bullying is a problem in my school • The age gap and experience gives us different social capabilities • But over all when situations occur, we all tend to stand up for one another • Each person is very dependent on one another so bullying isn't an issue

12. Is Posting a Picture Bullying? • Without a persons consent it is a form of bullying • Photos today are too easily available to others • You risk not only the relationship with that person, but also legal issues • Simply asking the person if you can take or post the picture is ideal
