Healthy Living is about making healthy choices every day;
healthy choices that keep us fit physically, mentally and
spiritually. Eating well, being physically active and not
smoking are three of the best things we can do to stay
healthy. By staying healthy we can help prevent chronic
diseases and reduce our risk of becoming ill or seriously
injured. Living healthier is a personal choice, but everyone
has a role to play. Individuals, families, communities,
governments and other organizations can work together to
create environments and conditions that support healthy
living. Some examples include creating smoke-free public
                  spaces, making nutritious foods easily
                  accessible or developing communities and
                  buildings that promote physical activity.

Health is described as physical and mental well-being and freedom from
disease, pain or defect. However, such descriptions only superficially
define the actually meaning of health. There may be many occasions
when individuals are not necessarily ill or in pain but may be overweight,
stressed or emotionally unstable. Health is a quality of life involving
dynamic interaction and interdependence among the individual's physical
state, their mental and emotional reactions, and the social context in
which the individual exists. There are many factors that influence your
health, but three major components contribute to general well-
being: Self-awareness, a balanced diet and, regular physical activity.
In order to lead a healthy lifestyle, it is essential that individuals
constantly monitor their health. This involves not only physical, but also
mental and emotional aspects of the body's functioning, as they relate to
the home, school, work, and leisure environments. If necessary changes
are made sooner rather than later, then a

ingredients it requires, it is important that we consume a variety
of healthy foods to derive the nutrition our body needs. There are five
main food groups, they are:

• Cereals and Pulses
• Dairy Products
• Poultry, Fish and Meat products

Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or
maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is
performed for various reasons including strengthening muscles and
the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or
maintenance, as well as for the purpose of enjoyment. Frequent and
regular physical exercise boosts the immune system, and helps prevent
the "diseases of affluence" such as heart disease, cardiovascular
disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. It also improves mental health,
helps prevent depression, helps to promote or maintain positive self
esteem, and can even augment an individual's sex appeal or body
image, which is also found to be linked with higher levels of self esteem.
Childhood obesity is a growing global concern and physical exercise
may help decrease some of the effects of childhood and adult obesity.
Health care providers often call exercise the "miracle" or "wonder" drug -
alluding to the wide variety of proven benefits that it provides.
Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline,
originating in ancient India. The goal of yoga, or of the
person practicing yoga, is the attainment of a state of
perfect spiritual insight and tranquility
while meditating on Super soul. The word is associated with
meditative practices in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
Within Hindu philosophy, the word yoga is used to refer to
one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy. Yoga
in this sense is based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and is
also known as Rāja Yoga to distinguish it from later schools.
Patanjali's system is discussed and elaborated upon in
many classical Hindu texts, and has also been influential
in Buddhism and Jainism. The Bhagavad Gita introduces
distinctions such as Jnana Yoga vs. Karma Yoga .
he Sanskrit word yoga has the literal meaning of "yoke",
from a root yuj meaning to join, to unite, or to attach. As a
term for a system of abstract meditation or mental
abstraction it was introduced by Patañjali in the 2nd century
BC. Someone who practices yoga or follows the yoga
philosophy with a high level of commitment is called
