Over the past 5 years, enrollment at HCC has grown by 40% and the college is now at 92% capacity, with 53 square feet of classroom space per student compared to the national average of 80 square feet. To address this need, as well as upgrade technology and learning spaces, HCC has proposed a 2012 bond program totaling $425 million. This funding would support new buildings and renovations across all HCC colleges, particularly in high-demand areas like healthcare, STEM, and workforce training programs.
