This document summarizes progress on livelihood enhancement projects through diversion-based irrigation in Dharmagarh and Bissamcuttack, India from 2009-2011. [1] 14 projects were completed with a total budget of over 1 million, providing water for over 125 acres of crops. [2] 9 schemes were completed and 5 more were in progress, with water being used for rice, vegetables, and orchards. [3] Challenges included maintaining pipe depth in rocky areas, transporting construction materials manually up steep hills, and addressing demand from inaccessible villages while avoiding threats from Naxalite groups.
