Opening
 The first shot we see in the trailer is a close up of a young girl waking up from her sleep in her bed which
immediately tells us that the scene was in the morning. As this scene is happening, in the background we
hear hip hop music which is a type of music genre that most teenagers listen to. She then gets up to pick up
her phone which shows her dad calling her. This also tells us that she doesn’t live with him. When putting
her phone down she sees a boy in her room who sees she is awake. She later on dresses up in front of the
boy and then another boy walks in and sees her in a bra. This indicates that they are roommates however
privacy isn’t really respected.

Build up
 The next scene shows the same girl walking to school with a few distractions: a street fundraiser asking her
to help with global warming and sprinkles going off on students. As she walks into the building, she walks
into a gym. When walking up the stairs behind her is a girl following her and calls a “sneaky little bitch,” this
implies that their relationship isn’t that good. Next scene shows another girl saying happy birthday and
giving the main character a birthday cupcake which implies that these 2 have a good friendship.
 In the next scene of the build up the girl is seen at a party and sees a boy, they both look at each other
across the room and smile at each other flirtatiously. This implies that they have a crush on each other and
is also hinting that they may get together at the end of the film.
 As the build up continues the girl goes to the mirror to fix her hair, suddenly she sees a person dressed in
black with a toy mask covering its face. She jumps after seeing it, it then pulls out a knife and is close to
stabbing her. Although she screams, the scene reveals that it is a dream when she wakes up and screams.
She wakes up seeing the guy who we saw in the very first scene.

Problem
 From the last scene the problem starts to develop in the trailer. The main character doesn’t know what is
going on around her when she sees the same street fundraiser and the sprinklers going off. She later states
“I feel like I am losing my mind.” The girl is seen living the same day as she did at the beginning of the
trailer. The girl later reveals déjà vu when her friend gives her a birthday cupcake and she tells the her that
someone is going to kill the main character. After this the scene cuts to the girl in her bedroom at night, she
is seen looking out of the window and talking to herself. This implies that she is worried and fearful of the
killer. She later hears the door creak and looks across the room; she is seen holding a hammer for self
defence. The killer then slowly opens the curtains of her window, it then walks behind he and pulls a knife
out. The girl that the killer is after screams, however just when we are about to see the killing scene she
wakes up again from a terrible dream. The girl sees the same boy she has now seen twice when she woken
up from this “dream,” her phone rings again and she shows her frustration by telling it to “shut up” and
throwing it across the room.

Events
 As the trailer continues the girl lives the same day she had lived before and is trying to prove to the boy of
what is going on by showing him that she knows what it going to happen next. Next the girl and boy are
seen having a conversation in a restaurant. The boy reveals that he knows what is going on. He says “You
have unlimited amount of lives” which implies that she living in a mystery. She later hints how she has to
keep reliving this life until she finds the murderer when she says “So, I have to keep dying until I see the
murderer.”
 The next scene shows her running away from the killer in a hospital. From here there are scenes that show
her seeing the killer at different locations which tells us that she could find the killer anywhere.
 Later on the first boy states :whoever is killing you knows its your birthday” which indicates the suspect can
be anyone who goes to her school. She tells him that everyone knows when her birthday is.
 In the last scene shows the girl in a car, the killer sets the street on fire and it catches the car. As the
audience we think that she is dead until she wakes up again from a terrible dream.
