This document provides an overview of the FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) model, which defines conceptual entities for works, expressions, manifestations, and items. It describes attributes for each of these entities, including title, date, language, and other metadata. Examples are given of the relationships between works, expressions, and manifestations for different editions of books, recordings of musical works, and print/digital versions of periodicals. Suggested readings on applying the FRBR model in libraries and mapping existing metadata standards like MARC are also listed.
