Handball is a team sport played between two teams of 7 or 11 players. The objective is to throw an inflated ball into the opponent's goal while preventing them from scoring. The playing court is 40m by 20m with goals at each end. Players can stop, catch, throw, bounce or strike the ball with their hands, fists, arms, head, body, thighs or knees but not below the knee. A game consists of two 30-minute periods with a break in between. Important skills include passing, throwing, and shooting which are practiced during training. Handball provides aerobic exercise and physical benefits like agility, flexibility, muscle tone and cardiovascular health.
