Building a culture where intrapreneurs are not afraid to fail is critical if you hope to be innovative. Here are some ideas to help create that environment
Learning from Failure: How to Bounce Back StrongerAndre Piazza ↗️
*As seen on ProductCamp, altMBA and PMI Austin Chapter*
Professionals are becoming aware that the journey to success increasingly includes moments in which reality does not match expectations. Recent Neuroscience findings shed light on how humans process those situations and open the door for us to act confidently and compassionately grow when faced with the inevitable of failure.
Can we mature our individual and collective emotions to where we process these situations more freely, learn in the process, and come back willing to perform better as a team?
What if we could increase our ability to bounce back stronger from these situations?
This interactive, two-way presentation will challenge participants to do just that.
In this presentation, you’ll learn:
1. Defining failure and learning
2. The Neuroscience findings on how humans learn
3. Strategies to connect and influence others: the SCARF model
4. The Drama Triangle: 3 roles we often use to tell stories... And the issues involved in those narratives
5. How cognitive reappraisal can improve individual and team's ability to connect and learn
6. Leading change using these constructs: failure, insights, patterns, lessons, commitments
7. A step-by-step process to make all these things happen, graciously

Eleven (11) composites, are unfilled and five each filled with varying contents of charcoal and wood dust separating bonded with melted spent thermoplastics have been compounded and their compressive strength, density, specific gravity, percentage shrinkage and percentage absorption determined.Composite density ranges (0.83-0.94)g/cm3, compressive strength from (6.92-16.14)n/mm2, percentage shrinkage from (1.01-4.76)% and percentage water absorption from (1.75-15.75)%. These results suggest that these composites (i) meet the allowable American standard for test and measurement (ASTM) for ceramic floor and wall tiles in compressor strength (0.2-22.1)minimum, % shrinkage (maximum 15%) and water absorption (maximum 16%) (ii)are appreciably strong compare to the gmelina-wood/cement composite and (iii) if comprehensively examined, composites may be useful in the building industry for the manufacture of tiles and boards and even compete favorably with the wood cement composites.
Comparative study of sympathetic cardiovascular parameters in overweight, nor...IOSR Journals
This study was undertaken to investigate and compare the sympathetic cardio vascular parameters in age matched overweight, underweight and normal weight school going boys in southern Odisha. 75 Boys between age group of 12-16 were subjected to study out of which 25 were overweight (BMI>25), next 25 were underweight(BMI<18.5),rest 25 were control group having normal BMI. Cold pressure test and hand grip dynamometer test were performed and blood pressure was measured during and after the tests as measures of cardiovascular parameter. Baseline SBP and MAP were significantly higher in overweight boys & lower in underweight boys. Maximum rise of SBP, DBP & MAP during hand grip dynamometer test were significantly higher in overweight boys & lower in underweight boys. Increase in SBP & MAP from their basal value during cold pressure test were significantly lower in overweight boys & higher in underweight boys. Thus it is concluded that both overweight & underweight boys have derangement of sympathetic cardiovascular function. SBP- Systolic blood pressure, DBP- Diastolic blood pressure , MAP- Mean arterial pressure
Abstract: An audio mixer amplifier is a device that translates a signal of one frequency band to another. It will accept many inputs at different frequencies and generate an output of the combination or sum of the frequencies. The mixer circuit provides good gain to weak audio signals. It can be used in front of an R.F. oscillator to make an R.F. receiver that is very sensitive to sound. Each input can be independently controlled by a variable resistor. There is also a provision for a balance control to fade out signal while simultaneously fading in the other. Key Words: Audio Mixer, Frequency, Signal, Circuit
Effects Of Heat Source And Thermal Diffusion On An Unsteady Free Convection F...IOSR Journals
The present analysis is made to investigate the effects of heat source and thermal diffusion on an unsteady free convection flow along a porous vertical plate in a rotating system. The plate is subjected to constant heat and mass flux also. The problem is solved analytically and expressions for velocity. Energy and temperature profiles, skin friction and Nusselt number are obtained. The effects of different parameter entered in the problem are discussed on the primary and secondary velocities, temperature and concentration distributions, primary and secondary skin frictions and Nusselt number with the help of tables and graphs.
Antibacterial Activity of Stem Bark Extracts of Oroxylum indicum an Endangere...IOSR Journals
The present work has been under taken to study the antibacterial activity of stem bark extracts of O.
indicum against disease causing gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Antimicrobial activity of solvent
extracts of stem bark of Oroxylum indicum has been studied to find out its activity against four important
bacterial strains Bacillus subtilis, B. cereus, Staphylococcus albus and S. aureus . The antimicrobial activity of
the stem bark extracts was done through well diffusion method and by measuring the inhibition zone around the
disc. The results revealed that the aqueous extracts of O. indicum exhibited antimicrobial activity against all the
microbes under study. The results provided evidence that the species O. indicum can be used as a potential
source of antimicrobial agent.

Abstract:
In the good ol' times, when Computer Science was young and open like the ocean, brave captains were more mathematicians than developers. Also, they had great beards.
They opened routes, fought monsters, discovered unknown lands, and we had fun on this ever since. As time goes by, we seem to forget some of their warnings and wisdom.
It's time to roll the treasure map and find the buried chests of pure gold advice!
We're curious minds, hackers and tinkerers.
We love to tweak our tools.
But our most important and wonderful tool is our own brain.

Translations are hard.
GetText is an often overlooked solution, but it has many advantages.
These slides are a bit old but still relevant. They have some details about translations horror stories: before choosing any I18N solution, match these against your prospective answers.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
