The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Final Reflection of the Practice Period
(takenfrom:https://101quotesabout.blogspot.com/2016/03/confucius-quotes-1.html)
This phrase represents my achievement of being able to finish my
practices. The career took a lot of time and the practice cost me a lot to
understand and carry it out. But finally, I was able to reach the last step of
this long ladder.
I had bad moments, I made many mistakes, fortunately I was able to
resolve it and continue with the practice. I felt nervous, every time I
started the different levels of practice, but then I could calm down and
continue with the classes. Something that helped me, and it was very
productive for me was the advice of the teachers, who observed me, it
helped to improve my practice.
In the initial period of the practice, I was very concerned about what the
students' reaction to the activities would be, if they would like and
motivate them to learn. During the classes I can see that the students had
a positive reaction to the exercises, they liked them and enjoyed them a
2. lot while doing the activities. In that moment, I knew I could do it and I
try to do my best effort to give the best of me and improve my way of
teaching.
The disadvantage of the practice was what it cost me to understand how
to do it, from the planning to the classes themselves, in some classes, I felt
very bad, especially during the practice period of initial and primary. But
the repeated advice and help from the teachers helped me to improve the
practice and I be able to develop better my teaching. They helped me to
lose the fear of being wrong or made mistakes.
Something important that I highlight is the mark that I pass through the
different classrooms, the recognition of the students towards me, as a
teacher, even today they still see me in school and they call me teacher
even when they know I am not their teacher more.
My biggest difficulty is myself and my fears to make mistakes when I'm
teaching, I know I have to improve my pronunciation. It always made me
feel half-hearted. Beyond that in the free times I try to improve my
pronunciation and my grammar, I feel that I still have a lot of to learn. To
be able to stand out as a teacher and be able to give the best of myself to
my students. I know I must continue to improve a lot.
I’m teaching three years ago, the most noticeable difference is the lack of
children, as all the teacher, I want to get a class and be able to talk all the
time in English and all the students understand to me , but unfortunately
this isn't the reality. In the schools where I work, the majority of the
children are low income, and many don’t have the book, so I am forced to
take a copy, or I ask them to copy the exercises in the folder.
The similarity that I find with daily practice is the way to carry out
activities or modify the activities proposed in the books, in practice I
could even do many more activities that I usually do with my students
because of different circumstances I couldn't do it.
The choices that I made were to look for materials and resources different
from those that they usually do in the class, I wanted to surprise the
students with the activities. What result positive from this practice, since
students who normally didn't work, they did it because they hooked on
the activities or games and they make an effort with the activities that
they didn't understand, they were being asked what they have to do.
After each class I made a personal reflection to see what I could have
improved or how I could have done a certain activity, and in many cases I
realized that I could have got more out of certain activities, because the
students were motivated to work, maybe I could make a modification of
the activity or change it from another mode.
3. I learned a lot from the practice, from how to talk with the students, how
to look for different ways to teach a subject, what other things I can do to
improve a class and make it more entertaining. The teachers' advice
which activities to do, or how they plan a certain activity to be more
profitable for the students. For the time I had was very short, I do not
know if I find something else to do, maybe I should have used other types
of activities.
Taking into account this practice and the activities carried out, I will take
them into account when planning my classes to improve my teaching. My
outstanding debt is to be able to improve in the weakest points, such as
pronunciation, grammar and structure more times for each activity.
Finally, I want to thank all those who in one way or another gave me their
unconditional support and help, my family, my children, my husband and
my mother, without whom today I couldn’t be here. To the teachers who
gave me their support and advice to make my career and my practices
better.
