Prosocial behavior, or intent to benefit others, is a social behavior that "benefit other people or society as a whole","such as helping, sharing, donating, co-operating, and volunteering". Obeying the rules and conforming to socially accepted behaviors (such as stopping at a "Stop" sign or paying for groceries) are also regarded as prosocial behaviors. These actions may be motivated by empathy and by concern about the welfare and rights of others, as well as for egoistic or practical concerns, such as one's social status or reputation, hope for direct or indirect reciprocity, or adherence to one's perceived system of fairness. It may also be motivated by altruism, though the existence of pure altruism is somewhat disputed, and some have argued that this falls into philosophical rather than psychological realm of debate. Evidence suggests that pro sociality is central to the well-being of social groups across a range of scales, including schools. Prosocial behavior in the classroom can have a significant impact on a student's motivation for learning and contributions to the classroom and larger community. In the workplace, prosocial behaviour can have a significant impact on team psychological safety, as well as positive indirect effects on employee's helping behaviors and task performance. Empathy is a strong motive in eliciting prosocial behavior, and has deep evolutionary roots.
Prosocial behavior fosters positive traits that are beneficial for children and society. It helps many beneficial functions by bettering production of any league and its organizational scale. Evolutionary psychologists use theories such as kin-selection theory and inclusive fitness as an explanation for why prosocial behavioral tendencies are passed down generationally, according to the evolutionary fitness displayed by those who engaged in prosocial acts. Encouraging prosocial behavior may also require decreasing or eliminating undesirable social behaviors.
Although the term "prosocial behavior" is often associated with developing desirable traits in children, the literature on the topic has grown since the late 1980s to include adult behaviors as well. The term "prosocial" has grown into a world-wide movement, using evolutionary science to create real-world pro-social changes from working groups to our whole culture.

Abstract
This article introduces intersectionality as a usable tool for critical reflection, which as a part of the
critical social work tradition aims to challenge oppression and inequality. It is argued that in critical
reflection, oppression and injustice are often understood in general terms and that oppression and
inequalities related to gender, sexuality, class, and race therefore risk being neutralized and
undetected. The suggestion is made that by using an intersectional approach, which focuses the
interplay and complexity between gender, sexuality, class, and race, critical reflection gets the
capacity to keep central power relations in urgent focus.

Introduction: Oppression and Critical Social Work
Critical and radical social work has been occupied with oppression and the ways through which
social structures shape social work practice since the 1960s. It criticizes traditional social work for
maintaining and reinforcing oppression and inequality, as social problems are usually understood as
an effect of the individual’s lack of ability to cope with everyday life. By the view of critical social
workers and researchers, social work should be a practice with an ambition to challenge inequality,
marginalization, and oppression at a structural level by using structural understandings of social
problems (Adams, Dominelli, & Payne, 2002; Bailey & Brake, 1975; Dominelli, 2002; Pease &
Fook, 1999; Sakamoto & Pitner, 2005).
The interest in critical and anti-oppressive social work has increased during the last decades, and
several critical social work theorists have stressed the need for critical perspectives in a world
affected by and dependent on globalization and market economy (Dominelli, 2002; Fook, 2002;
Lewis, 2001; Morley, 2004; Stepney, 2005). Globalization creates economical standardization and
increasing economical dependency between states. At the same time, it increases Western, industria-
lized countries’ monopolies of technological, financial, communications, and weaponry resources.

Not surprisingly, research indicates that males and females think differently about relationships. Some of these differences include comfort with relationship intimacy and physical contact, perceptions of attractiveness, reasons for mate selection, and the role of emotion within relationships (Crisp & Turner, 2010).

Biological approaches tie neuroticism to genetics and brain functioning, while cognitive approaches emphasize changing irrational thoughts to improve neuroticism. Treating neuroticism cognitively by changing thought patterns may be most effective.

Abstract
This article introduces intersectionality as a usable tool for critical reflection, which as a part of the
critical social work tradition aims to challenge oppression and inequality. It is argued that in critical
reflection, oppression and injustice are often understood in general terms and that oppression and
inequalities related to gender, sexuality, class, and race therefore risk being neutralized and
undetected. The suggestion is made that by using an intersectional approach, which focuses the
interplay and complexity between gender, sexuality, class, and race, critical reflection gets the
capacity to keep central power relations in urgent focus.

Introduction: Oppression and Critical Social Work
Critical and radical social work has been occupied with oppression and the ways through which
social structures shape social work practice since the 1960s. It criticizes traditional social work for
maintaining and reinforcing oppression and inequality, as social problems are usually understood as
an effect of the individual’s lack of ability to cope with everyday life. By the view of critical social
workers and researchers, social work should be a practice with an ambition to challenge inequality,
marginalization, and oppression at a structural level by using structural understandings of social
problems (Adams, Dominelli, & Payne, 2002; Bailey & Brake, 1975; Dominelli, 2002; Pease &
Fook, 1999; Sakamoto & Pitner, 2005).
The interest in critical and anti-oppressive social work has increased during the last decades, and
several critical social work theorists have stressed the need for critical perspectives in a world
affected by and dependent on globalization and market economy (Dominelli, 2002; Fook, 2002;
Lewis, 2001; Morley, 2004; Stepney, 2005). Globalization creates economical standardization and
increasing economical dependency between states. At the same time, it increases Western, industria-
lized countries’ monopolies of technological, financial, communications, and weaponry resources.

Psychoanalytic approaches view neuroticism arising from issues like low self-esteem or a need for approval. The trait approach categorizes neuroticism as one of the Big Five personality traits. Biological approaches tie neuroticism to genetics and brain functioning, while cognitive approaches emphasize changing irrational thoughts to improve neuroticism. Treating neuroticism cognitively by changing thought patterns may be most effective.

The two variables are regarded to have influence on the decision one makes to forgive another. The study aimed
at examining the relationships between psychological empowerment and forgiveness, empathy and forgiveness
and to identify which one of the two,Psychological Empowerment or Empathy, is the more powerful predictor of
forgiveness. The study took a survey design with a sample of 350 drawn from a population of university students
using a self-administered questionnaire with four sections: Personal information, Psychological empowerment
scale, Toronto Empathy questionnaire, and the Heartland Forgiveness Scale (HFS). Data analysis employed
Pearson’s product moment correlation and regression analysis to test hypotheses. The results show significant
relationships between psychological empowerment and forgiveness as well as empathy and forgiveness.
Empathy was found to be the more powerful predictor of forgiveness.

Immersive Learning That Works: Research Grounding and Paths Forward
We will metaverse into the essence of immersive learning, into its three dimensions and conceptual models. This approach encompasses elements from teaching methodologies to social involvement, through organizational concerns and technologies. Challenging the perception of learning as knowledge transfer, we introduce a 'Uses, Practices & Strategies' model operationalized by the 'Immersive Learning Brain' and ‘Immersion Cube’ frameworks. This approach offers a comprehensive guide through the intricacies of immersive educational experiences and spotlighting research frontiers, along the immersion dimensions of system, narrative, and agency. Our discourse extends to stakeholders beyond the academic sphere, addressing the interests of technologists, instructional designers, and policymakers. We span various contexts, from formal education to organizational transformation to the new horizon of an AI-pervasive society. The ability to recreate computational results with minimal effort and actionable metrics provides a solid foundation for scientific research and software development. When people can replicate an analysis at the touch of a button using open-source software, open data, and methods to assess and compare proposals, it significantly eases verification of results, engagement with a diverse range of contributors, and progress. However, we have yet to fully achieve this; there are still many sociotechnical frictions.
Inspired by David Donoho's vision, this talk aims to revisit the three crucial pillars of frictionless reproducibility (data sharing, code sharing, and competitive challenges) with the perspective of deep software variability.
Our observation is that multiple layers — hardware, operating systems, third-party libraries, software versions, input data, compile-time options, and parameters — are subject to variability that exacerbates frictions but is also essential for achieving robust, generalizable results and fostering innovation. I will first review the literature, providing evidence of how the complex variability interactions across these layers affect qualitative and quantitative software properties, thereby complicating the reproduction and replication of scientific studies in various fields.
I will then present some software engineering and AI techniques that can support the strategic exploration of variability spaces. These include the use of abstractions and models (e.g., feature models), sampling strategies (e.g., uniform, random), cost-effective measurements (e.g., incremental build of software configurations), and dimensionality reduction methods (e.g., transfer learning, feature selection, software debloating).
I will finally argue that deep variability is both the problem and solution of frictionless reproducibility, calling the software science community to develop new methods and tools to manage variability and foster reproducibility in software systems.

Describing and Interpreting an Immersive Learning Case with the Immersion Cub...
Current descriptions of immersive learning cases are often difficult or impossible to compare. This is due to a myriad of different options on what details to include, which aspects are relevant, and on the descriptive approaches employed. Also, these aspects often combine very specific details with more general guidelines or indicate intents and rationales without clarifying their implementation. In this paper we provide a method to describe immersive learning cases that is structured to enable comparisons, yet flexible enough to allow researchers and practitioners to decide which aspects to include. This method leverages a taxonomy that classifies educational aspects at three levels (uses, practices, and strategies) and then utilizes two frameworks, the Immersive Learning Brain and the Immersion Cube, to enable a structured description and interpretation of immersive learning cases. The method is then demonstrated on a published immersive learning case on training for wind turbine maintenance using virtual reality. Applying the method results in a structured artifact, the Immersive Learning Case Sheet, that tags the case with its proximal uses, practices, and strategies, and refines the free text case description to ensure that matching details are included. This contribution is thus a case description method in support of future comparative research of immersive learning cases. We then discuss how the resulting description and interpretation can be leveraged to change immersion learning cases, by enriching them (considering low-effort changes or additions) or innovating (exploring more challenging avenues of transformation). The method holds significant promise to support better-grounded research in immersive learning.

Authoring a personal GPT for your research and practice: How we created the Q...
Thematic analysis in qualitative research is a time-consuming and systematic task, typically done using teams. Team members must ground their activities on common understandings of the major concepts underlying the thematic analysis, and define criteria for its development. However, conceptual misunderstandings, equivocations, and lack of adherence to criteria are challenges to the quality and speed of this process. Given the distributed and uncertain nature of this process, we wondered if the tasks in thematic analysis could be supported by readily available artificial intelligence chatbots. Our early efforts point to potential benefits: not just saving time in the coding process but better adherence to criteria and grounding, by increasing triangulation between humans and artificial intelligence. This tutorial will provide a description and demonstration of the process we followed, as two academic researchers, to develop a custom ChatGPT to assist with qualitative coding in the thematic data analysis process of immersive learning accounts in a survey of the academic literature: QUAL-E Immersive Learning Thematic Analysis Helper. In the hands-on time, participants will try out QUAL-E and develop their ideas for their own qualitative coding ChatGPT. Participants that have the paid ChatGPT Plus subscription can create a draft of their assistants. The organizers will provide course materials and slide deck that participants will be able to utilize to continue development of their custom GPT. The paid subscription to ChatGPT Plus is not required to participate in this workshop, just for trying out personal GPTs during it.

- In most cases, guilt indicates that an individual has stepped outside of societal mores or personal values, showing them that their actions are jeopardising a goal, e.g. being a moral person and is highly linked to morality and the prevention of immoral actions, and the growth of moral attitudes.
- It's been argued in appraisal theories that emotions relate to an individual’s interpretation of an event in the context of their beliefs, desires, and goals. Goals are the object of a person's aim or desired results, an ambition or effort; and emotions can help guide and enable an individual through events that influence their goals. Connecting goals and emotions is relevant when discussing guilt, particularly when looking at ethical, moral, and cultural mores and behaviours. Guilt can also function as a facilitating emotion to assist with integration of an individual into a community and motivating them to accept and adapt to the societal mores and avoid ostracisation.
- There has been a shift more recently towards studying the relational consequences of a transgression and guilt has been considered an adaptive response to improve social outcomes as it can help the individual to develop connections to others by generating preoccupation for their well-being.
- However, sometimes the prosocial behaviours triggered in this way can be made at the expense of others in the society; their focus on making reparations blinding them to their neglect of those around them.
- An appraisal is how an individual believes the situation they are experiencing is significant for them and whether, or how, it has implications for their well-being. Appraisal theory suggests that these interpretations are what makes an event significant, and generates emotions; and the appraisal of the event is as important as what actually took place, and applies to guilt in that an event occurs and the individual appraises it as something they shouldn't have done, and hence they feel guilt; which would probably motivate them to make reparatory actions.
- Attribution theory suggests that the way an individual chooses to interpret the cause of an event or another's behaviours, can change they way they feel about the situation and this can change they way they react to it. Research has found that causal attributions of an event that lead to an experience of guilt were positively correlated to internal, unstable, controllable attributions (i.e. mood). It’s generally considered that people that perceive events as internal and controllable believe that they can alter the situation and experience a more positive outcome; this may be due to a more pro-active attitude and believing that they can bring about and initiate change to deal with their distress.
- Guilt is painful, but it can motivate an individual to act prosocially to feel better.
