Mobile data traffic is expected to double yearly through 2018. Latin America will see a shift to newer technologies, with WCDMA/HSPA becoming dominant at 70% by 2018, though GSM will still be significant at 20%. Spectrum in the 700MHz band provides advantages for expanding 4G/LTE services through improved indoor coverage and capacity. The 700MHz band requires fewer cell sites than higher bands to provide coverage. Several Latin American countries have licensed or plan to license the 700MHz band to support increased 4G adoption and mobile broadband access.

Future Sat Africa - Satellite Network Reliability Myles Freedman
This document discusses satellite network reliability. It begins by noting everyday uses of satellites such as broadcast services, telecommunications, and military applications. It then defines reliability as ensuring functionality at every stage from concept to delivery. Satellite networks are described as reliable options for wide area networks and internet connectivity due to features like redundancy, scalability, remote access, and security. Service availability levels are provided for different satellite-based services, with telephone and VSAT systems having the highest at 99.95% and 99.9921% respectively. The document concludes by recommending effective ICT policies to further advance connectivity in Africa through multiple network mediums and initiatives to promote universal access.

4G mobile networks will grow rapidly in Egypt over the next few years, driven by increasing smartphone adoption. While 3G will remain the dominant mobile broadband technology in the short term, 4G subscriptions will grow the fastest after 2018. This is due to declining smartphone prices making 4G-enabled devices more accessible. The availability of high-speed 4G networks will be necessary to support growing demand for bandwidth-intensive applications like mobile video and enable new opportunities for digital services. However, Egypt currently lacks commercial 4G/LTE networks, making it the only major market in the Middle East and Africa without this technology.

Television in Europe. ITMedia Annual Report 2013Augusto Preta
This document provides a summary of television market trends in Western Europe based on data from 2012. It finds that while the overall TV market continues to grow, advertising revenues declined in most major countries due to audience fragmentation across numerous channels. Pay TV and multi-channel packages continue expanding and now make up over half of market revenues. Digital TV penetration reached over 90% across Western Europe led by digital terrestrial television. Internet-based viewing is on the rise with over 60% of internet users watching some TV online, representing a challenge and opportunity for broadcasters.
The document discusses various media and advertising trends from July 2015, including a decrease in TV advertising investments compared to the previous year in several categories such as cosmetics and household chemicals, while categories like communications and trade saw significant growth; it also notes the launch of new online and TV services and changes in regulations around Russian TV channels and 4G technology adoption in Ukraine.
