HSPA+ is now available on more than 360 networks across about 160 countries, of which about 160 of the operators have already upgraded to dual-carrier HSPA+ (as of Feb 2014), which delivers peak downlink rates of 42 Mbps. The evolution continuous, bring in more carrier aggregation, HetNets enhancements, even more features to increase the capacity for bursty applications which are characteristic of smartphones and internet of everything (IoE) devices. With all the advancements of HSPA+ evolution, it is one of the important tools for operators to address the looming of 1000x data challenge.

The final piece to solving the 1000x puzzle is squeezing higher efficiency out of all the resources. More small cells and more spectrum are key to 1000x, but we also need enhancements that increase the network efficiency and squeeze more capacity and value out of spectrum. Apart from interference management that brings more out of small cells, we need to 1) Improving the efficiency of the apps and services 2) Make the data pipe more efficient by evolving 3G/4G/Wi-Fi and 3) Introduce a smarter pipe.

The High Speed Packet Access technology is the most widely used mobile broadband technology in communication world. It was already built in more than 3.8 billion connection with GSM family of technologies. The HSPA technology is referred to both High Speed Downlink Packet Access (3GPP Release 5) and to High Speed Uplink Packet Access (3GPP Release 6). The Evolved HSPA technology or HSPA + is the evolution of HSPA that extends operator's investments before the next generation's technology 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE or 3GPP Release 8). The HSPA technology is implemented on third generation (3G) UMTS/WCDMA network and accepted as the leader in mobile data communication.
Using the HSDPA optimization on downlink is performed, whereas the HSUPA technology applying Enhanced Dedicated Channel (E-DCH) sets some improvements for the uplink performance optimization. The products that support HSUPA became available in 2007 and the combination of both HSDPA and HSUPA were called HSPA. Adopting these technologies the throughput, latency and spectral efficiency were improved. Introducing HSPA resulted to the increase of overall throughput approximately to 85 % on the uplink and a rise more than 50 % in user throughput. The HSPA downlink available rates are 1 to 4 Mbps and for the uplink are 500 kbps to 2Mbps as of 1 quarter of 2009. The theoretical bit rates are 14Mbps at the downlink and 5.8 Mbps at the uplink in a 5MHz channel. Besides, the latency is notably reduced as well. In the improved network, the latency is less than 50ms, and after the introduction of 2ms Transmission Time Interval (TTI) latency is expected to be just 30ms.
The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has published its latest GSM/3G Market Update. The world’s first LTE networks are launched in Sweden and Norway, the number of operators committed to LTE deployments has grown to 64 in 31 countries, 103 operators have committed to HSPA+ deployments with 52 networks now launched, and over 98% of WCDMA operators have launched HSPA. HSUPA is now commercially launched in 53 countries by 100 operators. The number of HSPA user devices is rapidly growing, reaching 2,349 from more than 230 suppliers

This is the latest report by GSA on HSPA and HSPA+ operator commitments, network deployments, commercial service launches, and trends including evolution, incorporating our research up to October 11, 2015.
The report lists all HSPA and HSPA+ network commitments, deployments and launches worldwide according to GSA research.
HSPA and HSPA+ Networks - Key Facts:
* 600 HSPA operator network commitments in 218 countries/territories
* 588 commercially launched networks in 218 countries
* ALL of the world's WCDMA operators have commercially launched HSPA service
* Over 70% of HSPA operators have commercially launched HSPA+ systems
* 415 HSPA+ networks are commercially launched in 173 countries
* 190 DC-HSPA+ networks i.e. almost one third of all HSPA networks, are commercially launched in 95 countries
* Two 63 Mbps 3C-HSPA+ networks are commercially launched
* Most 3G/HSPA systems use 2.1 GHz spectrum (3GPP band 1). However UMTS900 is also mainstream: 100 operators in 64 countries commercially launched UMTS900 in either a single band or multiband network deployment
There were over 1.99 billion WCMDA-HSPA subscriptions globally by Q2 2015. Total 3G connections globally are expected to exceed LTE up until 2020. Growing voice traffic relies on 3G as VoLTE solutions are still maturing. GSA estimates that more than 80% of operators continue their 3G investments. Top feature upgrades are DC-HSPA+ (downlink and uplink) and smartphone features (CPC & E-FACH). 3C-HSPA+ (63 Mbps) deployments have begun.
The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) has published its latest GSM/3G Market Update on December 16, 2009. The world’s first LTE networks are now launched in Sweden and Norway, the number of operators committed to LTE deployments has doubled in 8 months, 66 operators have committed to HSPA+ deployments with 37 networks now launched, and the number of commercial HSPA networks has more than tripled in 3 years. HSUPA is now commercially launched in 50 countries by almost 100 operators. The number of HSPA user devices is rapidly growing, reaching 1,875 from approaching 200 suppliers. All the details and more are here in this presentation, plus more including spectrum digital dividend, evolution to iMT-Advanced, etc. For latest news and updates see www.gsacom.com

Over the past 30 years the mobile industry has evolved from a fragmented, vehicle centric, low volume, high priced, business focused service, into a global mobile broadband business that has created new industries, new use-cases, billions of customer and innovative devices. The variety of mobile devices is about to explode as the mobile industry moves into what could be described as the third wave of Internet connectivity - a world where billions of “things” are connected. The next few years therefore promises to be as exciting and potentially as disruptive as the past 30 years.
The most widely used spectrum for LTE network deployments is 1800 MHz (3GPP band 3). 192 LTE1800 networks are commercially launched in 92 countries. 1800 MHz is used in 43.4% of LTE network deployments and also has the largest user devices ecosystem. Over 47% of LTE user terminals can operate in the 1800 MHz band.
Download the list of all 192 commercially launched LTE1800 networks together with the status of the user devices ecosystem in this short document, which is an extract from the Evolution to LTE report published on October 13, 2015.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
